1. Q1. In what ways does your media product use conventions of real life media products?
2. The masthead is different and unique to the rest of the text it does not take up the width of the page because this is not a full word. The title is the trademark. The positioning statement is below the title of the magazine this statement gives the magazine an ethos. The cover lines are small and do not give away too much this will entice the reader to buy the magazine and read more. The main cover line is a larger piece of text this is because the magazine will focus mainly on this artist. The strip along the bottom gives information away about what else is in the magazine this may make the reader buy it. The cover contains a barcode this makes the magazine more realistic it also contains the price, date and website. The price is small so the reader does not get put of by the price. The main image is a model wearing indie clothes this connects with the reader and it has direct address The puff words make people think they are getting things for free My magazine gives a gift away to make this stand out I have used effects such as bevel and emboss.
3. The contents is in an ‘L’ shape this to make it look busy and the images fit in much easier his way It is set out in to regulars and features there are a lot more features to keep the audience interested. The word contents is very large at the top of the page. The title is still in the same font because it is the magazines trademark. The contents is laid out into three different columns The magazine sticks to the same colour scheme the whole way through unless it is about a band or artist There are subscription details and further information on the rest of the magazine The front cover is on the contents this is a convention of a music magazine The page number s here and matches to the written content the written content is small because I do not want to give too much away
4. The title of the article is short and does not give away too much. This will draw the reader in. The stand first will give away more about the article and what it is about The drop capital is a convention and will show the reader where to begin and draw them in. At this point I inserted a drop quote into the text this is to space it out and to draw readers in. Once again the text is laid out into three columns The different paragraph have indents to et you know where they start it also makes it look professional This quote will connect with the audience and make them read on. The main image bleeds slightly onto the other half this is because it’s the main image and it is dominant I have written on the page that all images and text are written by me
