Understanding the properties of cylinder, cone and sphere and determiningits sizeB. Basic Competency2.1 Identifying the elements of cylinder, cone and sphereC. IndicatorStudents are able to mention the elements of cylinder, cone and sphereD. Learning Objective1. Students are able to mention the elements of cylinder, cone and sphere2. Students are able to draw cylinder, cone and sphere3. Students are able to draw cylinder, cone and sphere netE. MaterialFirst meetingThe elements of cylinder, cone and sphereSecond meetingCylinder, cone and sphere netF. Learning ModelFirst meetingCooperative LearningSecond meetingDirect InstructionG.Learning ActivityFirst meetingIntroduction (± 5 minutes)(Phase 1: Clarify goals and establish sets)
  • 2. 1. Apperception: teacher reminds students about the materials that are relatedwith the materials will be learned.2. Motivation: teacher Teacher gives some examples about non polyhedron indaily life, and gives an example about problem solving using this material.Tia is going to have a birtdhday party. She willmakes a party hat in conical figure as shown inthepicture on the left. If the height of the hat is16 cm and the radius is 12 cm, how wide is thepaper needed for one hat?To solve that problem, we need to know theelements of cone and we also must draw thecone net before we make it as a party hat.3. Teacher informs the learning objectivesMain Activity ((± 70 minutes)(Phase 2: Present information)4. Teacher explains the definition of a cylinder, a cone and a sphere.(Phase 3: Organize students into learning teams)5. Students are divided into groups of 4-6 ( become six groups )6. Teacher gives worksheet.7. Teacher asks the students to do the worksheet in group(Phase 4: Assist teamwork and study)8. Teacher observes and help the group that get difficulties to finish theworksheet.9. Teacher gives a reinforcement and feed back(Phase 5: Test on materials)10. Teacher gives a quiz to check students understandingClosure (± 5 minutes)(Phase 6: Provide recognition)
  • 3. 11. The teacher and the students summarize about the topic that have beenlearned.Second meetingIntroduction (± 5 minutes)(Phase 1 : Clarify goals and establish sets)1. Apperception: teacher reminds students about the materials that has beenlearned in the last meeting which is the elements of cylinder, cone andsphere.2. Motivation: the teacher gives some examples about the application oflearning non polyhedron.3. The teacher explains the learning objectives which are drawing cylinder, cone and sphere.4. The teacher checks the students’ preparation which brings ruler, compass, pencil and eraser.Main Activity (± 70 minutes)(Phase 2: Demonstrate knowledge or skill)Drawing a cylinder5. The teacher reminds the definition of a cylinder.6. The teacher explains the steps of drawing cylinder and asked students to doit.Drawing a cone7. The teacher reminds the definition of a cone.8. The teacher explains the steps of drawing a cone and asked students to doit.Drawing a sphere9. The teacher reminds the definition of a sphere.10. The teacher explains the steps of drawing a sphere and asked students to doit.(Phase 3: Provide guided practice)
  • 4. 11. The teacher asks students to do the question about drawing a cylinder, acone and a sphere. The teacher guides them.(Phase 4: Check for understanding and provide feedback)12. The teacher asks three students to show their work in front of class andgives feedback to them.Closure Activity (± 5 minutes)(Phase 5: Provide extended practice and transfer.13. The teacher asks students to collect their work.14. The teacher invites students to make a reflection about the materials thathas been learned today.15. The teacher give homework to students.16. The teacher asks students to learn the next materials.H.Tool and SourceTools:Cylinder, cone, and sphere mediaI. AssessmentQuiz
