Introduction (± 5 minutes)
(Phase 1: Clarify goals and establish sets)
1. Apperception: teacher reminds students about the materials that are related
with the materials will be learned.
2. Motivation: teacher Teacher gives some examples about non polyhedron in
daily life, and gives an example about problem solving using this material.
Tia is going to have a birtdhday party. She will
makes a party hat in conical figure as shown in
thepicture on the left. If the height of the hat is
16 cm and the radius is 12 cm, how wide is the
paper needed for one hat?
To solve that problem, we need to know the
elements of cone and we also must draw the
cone net before we make it as a party hat.
3. Teacher informs the learning objectives
Main Activity ((± 70 minutes)
(Phase 2: Present information)
4. Teacher explains the definition of a cylinder, a cone and a sphere.
(Phase 3: Organize students into learning teams)
5. Students are divided into groups of 4-6 ( become six groups )
6. Teacher gives worksheet.
7. Teacher asks the students to do the worksheet in group
(Phase 4: Assist teamwork and study)
8. Teacher observes and help the group that get difficulties to finish the
worksheet.
9. Teacher gives a reinforcement and feed back
(Phase 5: Test on materials)
10. Teacher gives a quiz to check students understanding
Closure (± 5 minutes)
(Phase 6: Provide recognition)
11. The teacher and the students summarize about the topic that have been
learned.
Second meeting
Introduction (± 5 minutes)
(Phase 1 : Clarify goals and establish sets)
1. Apperception: teacher reminds students about the materials that has been
learned in the last meeting which is the elements of cylinder, cone and
sphere.
2. Motivation: the teacher gives some examples about the application of
learning non polyhedron.
3. The teacher explains the learning objectives which are drawing cylinder,
cone and sphere.
4. The teacher checks the students’ preparation which brings ruler, compass,
pencil and eraser.
Main Activity (± 70 minutes)
(Phase 2: Demonstrate knowledge or skill)
Drawing a cylinder
5. The teacher reminds the definition of a cylinder.
6. The teacher explains the steps of drawing cylinder and asked students to do
it.
Drawing a cone
7. The teacher reminds the definition of a cone.
8. The teacher explains the steps of drawing a cone and asked students to do
it.
Drawing a sphere
9. The teacher reminds the definition of a sphere.
10. The teacher explains the steps of drawing a sphere and asked students to do
it.
(Phase 3: Provide guided practice)
11. The teacher asks students to do the question about drawing a cylinder, a
cone and a sphere. The teacher guides them.
(Phase 4: Check for understanding and provide feedback)
12. The teacher asks three students to show their work in front of class and
gives feedback to them.
Closure Activity (± 5 minutes)
(Phase 5: Provide extended practice and transfer.
13. The teacher asks students to collect their work.
14. The teacher invites students to make a reflection about the materials that
has been learned today.
15. The teacher give homework to students.
16. The teacher asks students to learn the next materials.
