The document discusses the International Livestock Research Institute's (ILRI) Research Management System (RMS). The RMS is an online system that manages ILRI's project, human resources, budget, grant, and work plan information. It aims to harmonize and streamline ILRI's management processes. Some key benefits of the RMS include providing real-time access to information, facilitating planning and implementation, and allowing for decentralization across projects. The RMS serves as a temporary solution until the full One Corporate System is implemented across the CGIAR Consortium.

Delivering science
Introduction:
The RMS is an online system for managing ILRI’s information at Project,
CRP, HR, Budgets and grants and work plan levels.
Current state:
Information across the CGIAR Consortium is decentralized
9 CG centers and the Consortium office came together and OCS (One
Corporate System) was initiated.
OCS is designed to develop a common, automated, and Integrated
operational support system for functions across the CGIAR Consortium
Research Management System (RMS) was designed to ensure a smooth
transition to OCS.
1. Online access to real-time information
2. Enhanced project planning and
implementation
3. Facilitate decentralization across projects

Goals
The RMS acts as a ‘temp’ solution to the OCS. The RMS aims at:
Harmonizing processes, data and information across programs
in ILRI
Simplifying information sharing, comparability, aggregation and
consolidation
Improving and streamlining program and administrative
management processes
Focus
Collection of data at HR , Finance, Projects , Work plans and CRP
levels
Generating reports from this data.
Creating linkages between projects, CRP’s, staff and finances for
better coordination of activities across ILRI programs.
