The STELA project aims to enhance the successful transition from secondary to higher education using learning analytics. It is a 3-year ERASMUS+ funded project involving universities from Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, and the UK. The project will develop dashboards using learning analytics data to provide formative feedback to students, teachers, and counselors during the transition period. It will test this approach through case studies in different educational contexts and make policy recommendations for implementing learning analytics in higher education. Existing learning analytics applications at partner universities focus on monitoring student engagement and progress, and providing additional academic skills feedback. Measurable results so far include increased student activity and course success rates.
