7. Time management(Preliminary)
When it comes to my preliminary task (Creating college
magazine) I believe my time management was really good and
effective.
Before , I started creating my draft , I already had how I wanted
everything to be like and the layout.
I was ahead of everyone in my class and this made me finish my
work on time
I booked the cameras 1 week earlier , because so many people
book cameras for their work , so I wanted to be professional and
book a time and place to do my shoot.
On the day of my shoot my model got there time and everything
went to what I planned.
8. Time management(Music magazine)
When it comes to my music magazine, Time management was
poor when It came to me taking pictures for my magazine.
Before even taking my pictures, my work was up to date , I was
careful with my time management.
But when it came to taking pictures everything was going bad , the
models, location and props.
I had to do 3 photo shoots on different days . This is because of
my old main model. She kept on prolonging the process and I
couldn't do my work for around 4 weeks. So during those 4 weeks
I was just planning the way I wanted my magazine and what to do
with it. I even had to put existing pictures ,so it will guide me ,
when I was making my front cover. During this time I was not
acting professional and everything was just going bad for me
when it came to time management ,because I didn't my time as
well as I did for my preliminary tasks.
9. Model (Preliminary)
For my preliminary tasks, picking a model was easy for me , I
just asked one of my friends if he could do it and told him the
day , time and location.
I also told him the outfit he should wear because I had an image
in my mind of how a college student should dress and he done
all of and posed the way I wanted him to pose.
On the day ,he even got there on time for the shoot.
The same thing applies for my contents page models as well.
Everyone cooperated very well, and everything went well and I
am pleased about it.
I learn't how to address all these issues.
10. Model(Music magazine)
When it came to my music magazine. Getting models was not a
problem , I just got them to sign a formal contract , and agreeing
with my terms and conditions.
The first time when I done my shoot , I had to do the contents
page models , because my main model could not make it.
There was lots of complaining on that day and it resulted to me
not performing as well as I would.
When trying to get my main model to take pictures on a certain ,
there was always an issue and that's why I had to wait for 4
weeks for her. The pictures we took was not good, the quality
was very poor and so was the lighting . I had to scrap her and
find another main model 1 week before my deadline , and I did
and she performed very well and I am pleased about that.
11. Equipment(Preliminary&Music
magazine)
I learn't from this project ,how to manage equipment? When I
would need it ? How long would I need it for?
I also learned skills on the technical side.
For both tasks I had to use a camera that I have never held
before and didn't know how it worked. So I had to listen to some
tutorials on how to use it and what to press to make pictures
look brighter because I didn't want my pictures come out dim
and poor quality.
I also needed the camera to be in focus so I could get the right
shot. I also considered different positions that I had to do when
taking pictures , if it was horizontal or vertical way. To get a
medium shot or long shot. Booking the camera for my
preliminary task was easy and I had no problems and the same
thing applies to my music magazine . However, at some point I
had to use my friends camera because my teacher had gone and
didn't give me the camera.
12. Props(Preliminary&Music magazine)
When booking my model for both tasks , I asked them if they
had certain props such as clothes, certain clothes,
heels, jacket, white top ,black trousers and etc. Both my main
models for my music magazine and preliminary had the props
that I needed, so this meant that I didn't I have to go and buy
some clothes or lend them mine.
For my preliminary tasks ,the model didn't have that much props
,except for books which my friend kindly offered us.
For my music magazine , the model had her own makeup , heels
and outfit and this benefited me a lot and made the process of
me completing my music magazine , much more quicker.
For my music magazine ,I didn't have any props because it
didn't work well . Originally , I wanted props on my old main
model but then I changed my mind.
13. Location(Preliminary&Music magazine)
Managing my location for my preliminary tasks ,was easy I just
booked the green room. And just edit out all the green on photo
shop.
However , for my music magazine , I had three various
locations. In the park, church and green room. For one of my
photo shoots which was outside , the weather was very poor and
my model was not in the mood to take pictures in the cold
weather. Even though the weather was poor ,I still was
determined to take my pictures and get it over and done with.
But my model was complaining so we booked another day.
Finding a location was not complicated because I had different
places , and where we done it didn't really matter because I
needed a white background , and if I didn't have it , it would be
fine because I would edit it on photo shop.
14. Makeup&Costume(Preliminary&Main task)
For my preliminary task , the costume that I needed my model
had it already , so this benefited me a lot.
On the other hand, for my main task , my model had all her
makeup and the outfit( leggings ,heels , top and jacket) , I just
needed to be there ready to take pictures of her.
She performed very well and I was pleased with her
performance.
I didn't have to bring anything , but I wanted my model to wear
fake eyelashes ,but she didn't have it with her , so I provided her
with a pair , but we didn't use them at the end because they
didn't really show.
15. Drafts(Preliminary&Music magazine)
For my preliminary task , I had to draft out how I wanted my
front cover and contents page to look like. I had to do this
before I started even taking pictures , because it gives me a clear
picture of where things should be.
The same thin applies to my music magazine drafts. But this
time it was much more difficult because , I had to follow
conventions and look at other existing gospel magazine.
When I did my first draft ,I thought that Was the final piece of It
and no changed would not be changed. However, after taking
my pictures My whole plan changed this resulted to me
changing my drafts. This was because of the pictures that I took.
The same thing applies to my preliminary task but I followed
that draft more than my music magazine draft. I re-drafting all
my pages for the music magazine.
16. Target Audience
Research(Preliminary&Music magazine)
Before I created my magazine , I asked my target audience what
they would expect to see in a gospel magazine and they said
different ideas that made me think . For example the cross ,
someone praying, colours such as white ,black, gold, blue and
etc.
When creating my magazine I had to think if my audience
would like it or not and what would they say if I used a certain
colour or positioned something in the wrong place , or the pose
of my main model was incorrect. I had to take all this into
consideration.
When I finished creating my magazine . I showed my audiences
it and I got mostly positive feedback and minor negative ones. I
put all my effort into creating it and I think I done a great job.
17. Overall Performance
When examining my overall performance for my preliminary
task I think I done very well when it came to time management ,
models, location and etc. I kept to strict deadlines and I regret
nothing.
On the other hand , when looking at how I did for my main
task , I am disappointed and could have done better , there are
many things that I regret such as wasting 4 week s of my time
waiting for my model.
I made loads of changed but that's good , because my final
product now looks professional.
