2. Why gather audience
research?
It is important for me to gather audience
research as this can indicate to me the
strengths and weaknesses of my own
work. By receiving feedback this can
then enable me on what element I
need to improve on my work, I also feel
it is important for people to voice their
opinions as well as their ideas as this
can also have an effect on the work I
produce.
3. In order to gather the information that I
needed I decided to ask an even
number of people on my promotional
package. This includes my completed
music video, my CD digi pack and my
music magazine advertisement. I
decided to ask 2 people who enjoy the
indie genre, 2 people who don’t enjoy
the indie genre, and 2 older people.
4. Did you enjoy my music
video?
The questions I asked were firstly on my music
video.
I asked the 6 people if they enjoyed my music
video.
5 out of the 6 answered yes. The one person
stated that “the footage seems to be a little
repetitive, when it comes to telling the story of
the video.”
I agree with the feedback from this question as
some of the footage which I used within my
video had been used more than once which Is
noticeable.
5. How would you rate the
editing of the video?
3 out of the 6 rated the editing a 7/10. Stating “ I
thought the editing was good, I identified the jump
shot, as well as the effects such as dissolve and dip
to black transitions. The other three rated the
editing a 5/10, stating that “ more editing would
have resulting in a better outcome, it could create
more of an effect and purpose of the video if used
in the correct way.”
From this feedback I agree that I could have used a
little it more editing techniques to of made the
video run smoothly and fit to the beat.
6. Does my magazine
advertisement fit professional
levels? 6/6 of the people I asked stated yes.
“ I feel as if the magazine advertisement fits
professional levels. I would expect to see a
magazine advertisement like that in a
magazine, it holds all the correct information
and is also set out in the correct way.”
“ I feel as if the editing of the photo and where
the font is positioned fits nicely in with the
whole advertisement. The font has been
carefully thought about and positioned
correctly and it is not too crowded.”
7. Is the correct conventions
used?
All 6 once again agreed that all the correct
conventions were used.
“ all conventions are used correctly, the
information which is needed is carefully
throughout and is used in a effective way
to capture the audiences attention to the
important information.”
“Font, colour and the information itself is all
set out effectively, the photograph also
adds to this nicely.”
8. Does the Digi pack look
professional ?
5/6 agreed that my digi pack looked professional.
“ all conventions are used, the same font is continuously
used throughout the promotional package, the them of
the artist featuring on the package is also used, and the
plain theme is also being applied once again.”
I feel a if the digi pack looks professional. The images used
have all been edited the same way, which helps when
it is all placed together, the them fits nicely and I think
the CD digi pack reflects the artist in a positive way,
giving the digi pack a modern look.

package, I feel as if stronger images could have been
used and edited to make it seem more professional and
stand out more.”
9. How do you feel about the
colour scheme?
“ I feel as if the colour scheme suits the genre
of the chosen song. The song is known to be
quite simple and plain and I feel the
plainness of the digi pack reflects this in a
positive way. There are very simple images
used which I like as I feel it is not looking
overcrowded and colourful”
“ I feel as if the colour scheme of the digi pack
could represent the darkness the artist is
going through, relating to the chosen song
home, as he feels sadness and as if he is lost,
the darkness of the digi pack suggesting this.
