For the Poster and The Billboard
Colour Scheme:
I have produced a very plain colour scheme for this poster. I have used a green frame around the text on the poster, this goes well with the logo of SASH overall
because I thought it was important to link the billboard and poster by having a green frame around it. Using white and green colours are good because they are both
light colours that makes the mood more positive and negative. The green colour is vibrant and works well with nature and peace and that’s what you want to use
when inviting volunteers into it. This poster will be known to teenagers and volunteers due to it’s unique face image and the big font that grabs your attention.
Fonts:
I have picked the ‘American Purpose’ font that I found on DaFont. This font is very quirky and looks like it has jumped out of a comic book. That means that the font
looks more youthful and exciting and would fit the target audience perfectly. I chose this font because it really stands out when putting it on a billboard and a poster,
the way it takes over a page is really good. The font is very clear and sophisticated which is good because it means anyone can read it. The fact that each letter is
clear and tidy means that there is no interference with the text. For the billboard, this text can be seen from a long way away due to the clear spaces of each word
and the size of the font.
Images:
For the images I have chosen a sourced image from Google Images. I’m going to take a picture of one girl doing a sad expression and then a happy expression. Once
that’s done then I will merge them together so that it’s two half faces into one. I will also do this for a guy as well. I will make the image have a transparent effect so
that it looks ghostly and invisible, this will fit well with the title of the poster. It’s a bonus doing two poster because then I get to put the girl on one and the guy on
another. This means there will be more posters to give out and it can be a collection item. The more posters there are the more people will realise that there from
the same charity. I’m doing to keep the sourced image on my billboard because it fits the audience perfectly and has a really strong emotion that will effect the
audience.
Layouts:
The layout yet again is very simple. I have made it simple so that the text, image and logo really stands out on the poster and billboard. I believe that if there isn’t to
much fuss then the poster will look more sophisticated and so will the billboard. It is known that less is more and that’s the motto that’s used for these products. I
wanted the image to really connect with the text so by having a certain amount of text and a certain amount of image means they are both stealing the show. If
there was to much text then it would look to busy for what it is, I made sure they were in sections so that they were all clearly shown.
Copy:
For the poster I used a statement to make a strong message to the audience. By saying ‘You’re An Individual not invisible’ this statement is quite strong and tells
people that you shouldn’t make homeless people invisible, you should help them find a home. Everyone deserves to have a home and to help a youth homeless
person means you could be a good candidate for volunteering. By having just that statement, it’s simple, catches your attention and it produces a lot of emotion. For
the billboard I used a rhetorical question by saying ‘did you see that boy before? If not make him visible’ this tells the audience that they should have noticed the
homeless person instead of ignoring it to read the text. It shocks you and makes you think about how you ignore homeless people on a daily basis and how it’s so
important to get them a home. I’ve used rhetorical questions and statements to get the audience thinking, this is good because then they will discuss it with others
and then the posters and billboard will spread popularity.
Products:
The products I have used are posters and a billboard. I have made posters because there are so many locations in which the target audience hang out and where
volunteers would go. I was thinking of putting the posters in shopping centers, bus stops and shopping high streets. This is because a lot of youth homeless people
would need food so they ask for it on the streets where the shops are located. Volunteers and people over 25 will go into shopping centre’s and use public transport
like buses to travel to different areas. Thousands of people will shop and use public transport everyday so I feel this is very important. I have picked to do a billboard
because these are mostly located on roads where thousands of cars drive past everyday. This would be so good for SASH as they would get the publicity they would
need to grow there charity and to raise money. Both posters and billboards are very good ways of getting publicity.
