2. We attracted our audience by using a familiar location
which they would easily recognize, we also attracted our
audience due to our music choice, the music we put over
the film opening was an instrumental that would
immediately put the audience in the mood and give them an
understanding of what the film is like. The music choice was
also really effective as it made the party scene much more
interesting and lively. My group and I did a lot of research
on the sort of titles and the colours of the titles as this would
also be really important. We chose a font which was quite
big and with that we chose bright colours such as
yellow, orange and red this is important as the audience's
attention would immediately be drawn in to the titles and
they would also be able to remember the names easily.
3. The props we used throughout our film opening
were a vital part to attracting our audience. E.g.
the red cups were key to attracting our
audience, when people think of red cups they
automatically think of the American high school
parties, this set a standard which we would have
to live up to as they would think our film is meant
to be like e.g. Project X. The audience would
also believe that the narrative of our film to be
teenagers drinking as that is the impression
given out by American movies.
4. My group and I purposely edited our film to have quick
shots, the purpose of doing this is so the audience are
constantly focused on what is going on. Also throughout
these shots several questions such as 'what is going to
happen next' will be raised by the audience. The pace of
the editing and different shots will be effective as it
makes the narrative seem interesting whereas if the party
scene had included very slow editing this would make the
audience lose concentration. The characters in our film
also helped make the scene much more lively each of
them were introduced with a funny facial expression this
here helps add the effect to the party scene.
5. My group and I looked at several other films
such as Superbad and The Hangover to see
how they address their audience and this gave
us a approach how we should attract ours. We
analysed the way the party scenes are
filmed, sort of props used and how each
character is portrayed this was helpful as we
immediately knew how to film ours. The
location was very important as we could get an
idea of where would be appropriate to film ours
and this was effective so we can get a clear
picture of how to attract our audience.
