INTRODUCTION
Now a days with the growing population and there is a necessity
for large amounts of energy and the sources to produce these
energies are decreasing day by day.
Energy demand we should take a renewable option of energy
source and also we should keep in mind that energy should not
cause pollution and other natural hazards. In this case the solar
energy is the best option for us.
India is a highly populated country , so we should take the
advantage of such an energy which requires a very less space to
produce energy efficiently . In this case solar tree could be the
best one for us .
WHAT IS ENERGY??
• Energy is a property of objects, transferable among them
via fundamental interactions, which can be converted into
different forms but not created or destroyed.
IT IS OF TWO TYPES:-
1. RENEWABLE ENERGY
2. NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY
.
Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the sun
harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies
such as solar heating, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal
energy, solar architecture and artificial photosynthesis.

1. In 1800 solar energy plants
developed .
2. In 1839 Alexandre
Edmond discovered the
photo voltaic effect.
3. In 1941 Russell ohl
invented solar cell .
4. Solar Tree Foundation
which began in 2008 by
Rein Triefeldt
5. In 2012 Ross Lovegrove
designed the solar tree.
WHAT IS SOLAR TREE
A solar tree is a decorative means of producing solar energy and
also electricity. It uses multiple no of solar panels which forms the
shape of a tree. The panels are arranged in a tree fashion in a tall
tower/pole.
TREE stands for
T= TREE GENERATING
R=RENEWABLE
E=ENERGY and
E=ELECTRICITY
This is like a tree in structure and the
panels are like leaves of the tree which
produces energy.
SOLAR TREE??
 As we know trees are present in nature and they can
produce their own food material by the process called
PHOTOSYNTHESIS.
 By this process they are indirectly providing food to
the human society because we are depending on the
green plants for our food directly or indirectly.
 Solar tree: This is a tree in which the stems connected
acts as the branches of the tree and the solar panels are
like the leaves
 Green leaves are producing food materials for human
beings likewise this leaves are producing energy for the
society. So it is very appropriate to called it as a tree.
COMPONENTS OF SOLAR TREE
The solar tree consists of manly five parts to design.
 Solar Panel
 Long tower
 LEDs
 Batteries
 Stems
DESIGN
•Designed a solar tree using an array of solar panels
of solar cells as leaves.
•The solar cells on the tree were able to store
enough electricity .
• We planned to design green stems constructed of
steel pipes supporting a light bulb in which solar
cells are connected.
• In place of branches we use solar panel which has
to produce voltage.
•Battery is hidden at the ground base
which is closed with proper material.
• The branch of the solar tree was
decorated with LED lights at the tip.
How Solar Panels Work?
Photovoltaic cell converts
sunlight into electric energy and
this effect is known as
photovoltaic effect.
Solar cells essentially create
electricity by converting photons
of light into electrons.
Solar cell producing direct
current, or DC, this DC current is
converted to alternating current, or
AC by using inverter.
EQUATION:
 E=A*r*H*PR
where,
E= Energy (kWh)
A=total solar panel area (m)
r = solar panel yield or efficiency (%)
H = Annual average solar radiation on title panels
PR = Performance ratio, coefficient for losses
(range between 0.5 and 0.9, default value = 0.75)
SPIRALLING PHYLLATAXY
 It is a technique used in designing of solar tree .
 It provides the way to help the lower panels from the
shadow of upper ones, so that it can track maximum
power from sun.
 This technology is used to improve the efficiency of
the plant .
WHY IT IS BETTER THAN A TRADITIONAL
SYSTEM
 For the traditional system we require large
size of land Example –To generate 2 MW
power from a PV module we requires 10 -
12 acres of land for housing of panels
only. For the same amount of energy we
require only 0.10-0.12 acres of land in
case of solar tree.
 It require less land as compare to
traditional PV system. So we require such
a plant which can generate max. energy
using minimum land. It can generate
energy very efficiently as compare to
traditional system.

SOLAR TREE IN INDIA
 India being a developing country and highly populated
requires a power plant where maximum energy can be
generated by using minimum land.
 We must try to produce energy from sun by using solar
tree in our country to increase our per capita land and
fulfil the growing energy demand.
CONCLUSION
 To fulfils the increasing energy demand the people.
 Saving of land, this project is very successful one.
 This can provide electricity without any power cut
problem.
 The extra energy can be provided to the grid.
 Solar tree sounds like the perfect solution for our future
energy needs.
 Solar tree is a revolutionary urban lighting concept.
 The tree design made 50% more electricity and the collection
time of sunlight was up to 50% longer.
 it helps the environment, saves money, cheap to use and you
can have them on your homes .
 It’s free and last for lifetime and environment friendly.

INTRODUCTION Now a days with the growing population and there is a necessity for large amounts of energy and the sources to produce these energies are decreasing day by day. Energy demand we should take a renewable option of energy source and also we should keep in mind that energy should not cause pollution and other natural hazards. In this case the solar energy is the best option for us. India is a highly populated country , so we should take the advantage of such an energy which requires a very less space to produce energy efficiently . In this case solar tree could be the best one for us .
  • 4. WHAT IS ENERGY?? • Energy is a property of objects, transferable among them via fundamental interactions, which can be converted into different forms but not created or destroyed. IT IS OF TWO TYPES:- 1. RENEWABLE ENERGY 2. NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY

  • 6. Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the sun harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal energy, solar architecture and artificial photosynthesis. What is solar energy?
  • 9. HISTORY 1. In 1800 solar energy plants developed . 2. In 1839 Alexandre Edmond discovered the photo voltaic effect. 3. In 1941 Russell ohl invented solar cell . 4. Solar Tree Foundation which began in 2008 by Rein Triefeldt 5. In 2012 Ross Lovegrove designed the solar tree.
  • 10. WHAT IS SOLAR TREE A solar tree is a decorative means of producing solar energy and also electricity. It uses multiple no of solar panels which forms the shape of a tree. The panels are arranged in a tree fashion in a tall tower/pole. TREE stands for T= TREE GENERATING R=RENEWABLE E=ENERGY and E=ELECTRICITY This is like a tree in structure and the panels are like leaves of the tree which produces energy.

SOLAR TREE??  As we know trees are present in nature and they can produce their own food material by the process called PHOTOSYNTHESIS.  By this process they are indirectly providing food to the human society because we are depending on the green plants for our food directly or indirectly.  Solar tree: This is a tree in which the stems connected acts as the branches of the tree and the solar panels are like the leaves
  • 12.  Green leaves are producing food materials for human beings likewise this leaves are producing energy for the society. So it is very appropriate to called it as a tree.
  • 13. COMPONENTS OF SOLAR TREE The solar tree consists of manly five parts to design.  Solar Panel  Long tower  LEDs  Batteries  Stems

DESIGN •Designed a solar tree using an array of solar panels of solar cells as leaves. •The solar cells on the tree were able to store enough electricity . • We planned to design green stems constructed of steel pipes supporting a light bulb in which solar cells are connected. • In place of branches we use solar panel which has to produce voltage. •Battery is hidden at the ground base which is closed with proper material. • The branch of the solar tree was decorated with LED lights at the tip.

How Solar Panels Work? Photovoltaic cell converts sunlight into electric energy and this effect is known as photovoltaic effect. Solar cells essentially create electricity by converting photons of light into electrons. Solar cell producing direct current, or DC, this DC current is converted to alternating current, or AC by using inverter.

  • 17. EQUATION:  E=A*r*H*PR where, E= Energy (kWh) A=total solar panel area (m) r = solar panel yield or efficiency (%) H = Annual average solar radiation on title panels PR = Performance ratio, coefficient for losses (range between 0.5 and 0.9, default value = 0.75)

  • 19. SPIRALLING PHYLLATAXY  It is a technique used in designing of solar tree .  It provides the way to help the lower panels from the shadow of upper ones, so that it can track maximum power from sun.  This technology is used to improve the efficiency of the plant .

WHY IT IS BETTER THAN A TRADITIONAL SYSTEM  For the traditional system we require large size of land Example –To generate 2 MW power from a PV module we requires 10 - 12 acres of land for housing of panels only. For the same amount of energy we require only 0.10-0.12 acres of land in case of solar tree.  It require less land as compare to traditional PV system. So we require such a plant which can generate max. energy using minimum land. It can generate energy very efficiently as compare to traditional system. Traditional solar system Solar tree
  • 22. ADVANTAGES  Ecologically Friendly  Decreased Electricity Bill  Low Maintenance  Efficiency  No air pollution  People can save money  People in poor country would have access to electricity  Land requirement is very less
  • 23. DISADVANTAGES  Cost is high  May cause hazards to the birds and insects  Hazards to eyesight from solar reflectors

SOLAR TREE IN INDIA  India being a developing country and highly populated requires a power plant where maximum energy can be generated by using minimum land.  We must try to produce energy from sun by using solar tree in our country to increase our per capita land and fulfil the growing energy demand.
  • 27. CONCLUSION  To fulfils the increasing energy demand the people.  Saving of land, this project is very successful one.  This can provide electricity without any power cut problem.  The extra energy can be provided to the grid.
  • 28.  Solar tree sounds like the perfect solution for our future energy needs.  Solar tree is a revolutionary urban lighting concept.  The tree design made 50% more electricity and the collection time of sunlight was up to 50% longer.  it helps the environment, saves money, cheap to use and you can have them on your homes .  It’s free and last for lifetime and environment friendly.
