1.Today I would like to introduce breaking culture to you. Breaking is a kind of street
dance, which is really popular among teenagers.
2.First, let me introduce the street culture in 70s to you. In 70s America, there are four
main elements of street culture. First, graffiti, as you can see that people just paint on
the wall, which is to express their emotions or thoughts. Second, rapping, a way of
singing which is invented by black people is a pretty cool singing style I think, that it
usually used for battle. Third, DJ, whose job is to handle the music in a party or in a
show and to control the atmosphere which makes people feel high. Fourth, the street
dance, which is the main subject of today.
3.Street dance contain many kinds of dancing style, which includes poppin, lockin,
free styles, and of course, breaking.
4.Breaking is a sort of dancing style which uses many difficult skills to show dances’
strength and powers. People who dance breaking are usually called bboy or bgirl,
which means boys or girl who breaks. And this is the most difficult dancing style of
street dance, this explains why it called breaking, dancers have to break the limitation
of dancers.
5.The most important thing of breaking dancers is battle. Battle is a kind of
competition between breaking dancers. They communicate to each others by such an
extreme and violent way, because this is their souls, and what they love and devotes
themselves in. To sum up, it is their attitude. They show their own dancing skill to
others, which is to proof them selves to others and to this world.
