Web Terminology:
1. Web: The “World wide Web” commonly known as the Web. The web is
an information system where documents and other web resources are
identified by URL(Uniform Resources Locators)and accessible over the
internet.

3. Network (ARPANET): Advanced Research Projects Agency
Network (ARPANET) is an organization that created for 2nd world wars
communication. University of Cambridge update this ARPANET. Mainly
a network consists of two or more computers that are connected each
other.
4. Internet: Internet is the global system of interconnected networks.
Intrnet uses the IP/TCP to communicate between networks and devices.
IP/TCP is known as Internet Protocol.
5. Email: Email means Electronic Mail. Email is a method of exchanging
messages or mail between people using electronic devices. Today’s Email
systems are based on a store and forward model. Email servers accept,
forward, deliver and store messages.
6. SMTP: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol(SMTP) used for sending email
over the Internet. Mail servers and other message transfer agents use
SMTP.
7. MIME: Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions is known as MIME. It is
an internet standard that extends the format of email to supporttext in
character sets other than ASCII, as well as attachments of audio, video,
images and application programs.

a server to a client on a computer network.
9. TELNET: TELNET is a client server protocol. It is used on the local
area network to provide a bidirectional interconnection. Also Computer
Monitoring can be done by Telnet.
10.HTTP/HTTPS: HTTP means “Hypertext Transfer Protocol”and
HTTPS means “Hypertext Transfer Protocolwith Secure” . HTTP is an
application layer protocolfor distributed, collaborative, hypermedia
information systems.
11.Mobile Telecommunications: Mobile Telecommunications is
the process ofsending, transmitting and receiving information over a distance.
12.BLOG: A blog is a discussionor informational website published on
the World Wide Web consisting of discrete or posts.
13.WEB PAGE: A Web Page is a hypertext document provided by a
website and displayed to a user in a web browser.
14.Types of Web Pages: From the perspective of server-side website
deployment, there are two types of web pages:
static and
dynamic.
15.WEB SITE: A website is a collection of web pages. Forpublish we
