ICT role in 21st century education and it's challenges.
Demographic
1. Audience Profile for our music video
Summary by Zacaria Elarichi, Doaa Elmnayneh and Jack Baxter
2. Looking at our previous research, we have agreed that our
target audience would be young people in the age bracket of
16+. From different music video analysis we discovered that
EDM music focuses more on the younger demographics as
they predominantly shows frames which shows rowdy
teenagers, energetic music festivals, parties or clubs. This
goes along with the stereotype of young people seen as
rowdy and wild and them being in their nature. This especially
can be seen with our genre, EDM which is mainly aimed at
young people. It reinforces the stereotype of young people
living their lives one moment at a time. We believe that this
view on our audience can appeal to both males and females
so for that reason, we have chosen our music video to be
direct for both sexes. As a result of this, we target our music
video at a variety of different consumers. This then follows the
mainstream ideology of modern videos regarding gender .
Age and Gender
3. We believe that our music production will predominantly be the white race. This
is supported through our research which shows that the white race
dominant with the EDM genre. This s can also be influenced through the
stereotypical associations of the white race being ore associated with EDM
music.
From looking at our audiences occupation, we agreed that due to their young
age, they most likely would still be with their parents and going to school or
universities and working part time jobs. This links them to the “wild” social
life.
Race and Occupation
4. Demographic and psychographic
Going back to the occupation and looking at the GR scale (
General Register) we agreed that our audience would preferably fit
into the C2 to E category. The is supported by the age of our
audience as they are associated with education and some of them
are associated with part time jobs resulting they are not that fully
stable. We also believe that our audience would follow the
mainstreamer profile. This results to the media view which is being
implemented through technological convergence. Looking at the
older side of our target audience, we believe that they would be in
the C1 category as they would be more experienced in the
working and independent world. However they would still be
associated with the “wild life” stereotype due to them still being
reasonably young. In terms of their psychographics, the would
best fit in the Individual category as they more stable and
independent in terms of their financial status. This is because they
would spend their earning with things that would benefit them but
at the same time they would try and portray themselves
5. Geo- Demographic
We believe that our audience will mainly be situated in urban location of large cities
which have a variety of different gigs and different music festivals. Where they are
situated would let them live the stereotypical life by going to clubs and parties which
we think it emphasises and increases their interest in EDM music. This links with the
Mosaic categorisation which is between Student Scene and Central Pulse. We have
put the our audience into these categories as we think they fit into the entertainment
seeking youngsters who tend to live in locations which are close to work and night life.
Furthermore, their location would be very close to their universities and the places
where they study. For the older section of our audience, we think that they fit in the
Career builder category. This is because they seem to be more motivated and focused
on sorting out their future resulting to them being more stable
