body for movement. Having different body parts
make the animals move in different ways.

6. Some mammals have long legs like the horse and
giraffe which they use for walking or running fast. Some
have legs that are not very long but they can also walk or run very fast.
The cheetah runs the fastest and the gazelle
follows in speed. They run to escape from their enemies.
Other mammals have bigger hind legs which they use for jumping.
These are the rabbits and kangaroos.

7. Some mammals use horns to fight an enemy. They use their tails to shoo
insects away.
Some reptiles are limbless like the snake.
They use their body to move around. Some have poisonous teeth to kill their
enemies.
Other reptiles have short legs like the lizards and crocodiles. They can
only crawl. The crocodile has a big long tail for swimming.
The fish use their body to swim in the water with the help of
their fins and tails. Most of them breathe through their gills.

8. Amphibians can live in water and on land.
These are the salamanders and frogs.
Birds have feathers and wings. They use them to flay far and
high into the sky. They have beaks or bills and claws on their two feet. They
use their beaks and claws in getting their food and fighting their enemies.
Some birds cannot fly. Hey are too big and heavy for their wings. They
walk or run on their two feet instead.
Insects have six legs for crawling. Some have wings like the
butterfly.
