Dear Toastmasters! I am Raymond Lim and I am your Division
Public Relations Officer. I have only been a Toastmaster for
the past 3 years. I am also a member and Treasurer of the
Leng Kee Advanced Toastmaster Club. I am currently a
programme manager with an Australian University. I have
more than 10 years of corporate experience in both public
and private organizations.
In my Toastmasters journey, I always believe we are all
endowed with talents within ourselves and we each bring a
special blend of strengths and skills to our clubs and the
divisions that we served. These platforms serve as a
conducive and safe environment for us to hone our public
speaking and leadership skills. The impact on ourselves as an
individual and a group can be life-transforming and long-
lasting.
It is with this belief that I serve the Division U in Singapore
and I hope that we can all achieve our goals together! After
all, it is when you serve, lead and mentor others that you
extend your learning, and others, in the Toastmasters
journey.
As a human resources professional, Catherine has always
viewed that effective communication is an essential
component to her key stakeholders; the Management team
and the Employees.
In 2010, she joined Toastmasters to improve her presentation
skills, and further developed her leadership skills by serving
in various positions such as President, VP(Education),
VP(Membership) and Secretary roles in two clubs. For this
term (2013/2014), she was awarded the ‘Most Dedicated
Vice-President, Membership’ by Division B.
Moving forward, she hopes to broaden her network in the
Toastmasters community and contribute her services. In her
leisure time, she enjoys travelling around the world, with just
her backpack and camera. Her pictures were featured in the
Young NTUC 20.20 photography exhibition in 2010/2011 and
at the Youth Olympics in Singapore.
With more than 25 years’ of working experience in the
information technology industry, I am currently a Senior
Manager with Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS).
One of my key roles is to develop Healthcare IT innovations
by collaborating with industry experts, start-ups and
government agencies and to bring about improved patient
care, patient safety and operational efficiency for the
healthcare providers.
I joined the Toastmasters programme in 2006 and served as a
club officer in the ITMA Toastmasters Club. The toastmasters
platform has helped me improve my communication and
leadership skills. It has also given me the confidence to
accept change as a positive opportunity to learn and grow.
Yetti Chiu is an accountant by training and has a MBA degree.
She is a fellow member of ACCA (the Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants).
Yetti was a District 80 Treasurer and a Division U Treasurer.
She had served her home club, Kampong Ubi Toastmasters
Club (formerly known as Kowloon-Singapore Toastmasters
Club), in various executive positions and was the President
for the term 2007/2008. In 2007, she created the website
and the blog for the club. The website helped the club to
increase its membership from 22 to 37 in just one year. The
club achieved President’s Distinguished Club status for the
term 2007/2008. She is still the webmaster of her home club.
Yetti has been the Webmaster of Division U since the birth of
the division in 2004. She has been a long-time toastmaster as
she likes public speaking. Now, she is living outside Singapore
with her husband.
Rebecca Tan, ACB, CL
Who am I? By day I am a teacher but by night I become a
visiting toastmaster .
Without visiting the clubs, how would I know so many
toastmasters or how would I practice my speaking skills.
Lessons I have learnt in life- if you want to be good in a skill,
example cooking, speaking, accounting, practice it often.
Find opportunities to be close to that skill and volunteer
yourselves often
DAISY YEO joined the toastmasters movement in November
2010. She had been an active member of two clubs currently
i.e. Clementi CC TMC and West Coast TMC.
She is currently President of Clementi CC TMC and VPE of
West Coast TMC. She is the winner of the Toastmaster of the
Year 2013-14. Clementi CC TMC had been given the award of
the Club with the highest membership net growth for 2013-
2014.
She is passionate about toastmasters and delights in
motivating members to succeed in their toastmasters
journey. Her goal is to bring her Club to greater heights and
success in 2014-2015. She believes in a holistic educational
development for all members apart from public speaking and
leadership skills. She hopes to learn from other experienced
and passionate toastmasters members from Division U. She is
a TESOL teacher and trainer.
