The objective this functional technical competence module is to understand the concepts,
processes and practices of learning and development in the context of organizations’
increasing commitment to developmental activities to meet the competitive environment.

Facilitators:
• Arun Vishwanath--Head Training, Raymond Retail.
Arun heads the Training, at Raymond Retail, part of the Raymond group, whose turnover
exceeds Rs. 3000 Crores. Responsible for conceptualising, designing and implementation of
the Learning, Training and Employee Development initiatives at Raymond Retail.
Previously he was Corporate Head of Training and Development with RKHS (now Sodexo),
with more than 18,000 staff. Was responsible for Pan-India Training and Development
activities; the Training team had 21 members spread across the country and the “Centre for
Learning and Development” was at Mumbai. Was a Part of the “Leadership & Growth” team,
which consisted of Senior Management from the company.
Has also worked as “Hotel Services Trainer” with P&O Princess Cruises for 6 years from
1999 to 2005. This assignment involved travelling on board P&O and Princess Cruises ships
based in US and UK to conduct training sessions on board the cruise ships, as well as, the
Training Centre in Mumbai. The responsibilities also included training staff in the Philippines.
Arun is an M.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Madras in 2004 and also has a PG
Diploma in HR and Personnel Management from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning –
2001. He has also Completed level 1 certification in “Executive Coaching” from Institute of
Executive Coaching and Leadership, Australia
• Suchitra Bhaskar- Head-Training & Org. Development-
CRISIL
Suchitra Bhaskar is Head -Training & Organisational Development at CRISIL, a Standard &
Poor’s Company. She leads the People capability building initiatives by charting the Training
and Leadership Development agenda for the Organisation.
Suchitra is a seasoned HR professional with over 12 years experience in the Training,
Leadership Development & Talent Management. She is certified in various Psychometric
Assessments instruments and uses this knowledge to further her Leadership development &
Training initiatives. In addition to these, she championed cultural transformation,
Organization Restructuring, Value workshops, Change Management initiatives etc in her
previous roles.
She started her career in Corporate training with NIS Sparta ( ADAG Company ) in the areas
of Behavioral skills, Sales & Leadership.
3. She has exposure to Banking, Financial Services & Insurance Domains having worked with
Organisations like Development Credit Bank & Tata AIG in previous stints.
She is a Masters in Psychology, Post graduate diploma in Training & Development & an
Alumnus of XLRI
