1. Task 1 –Gathering examples ofcreativeproduction clientbriefs
Who is the client? What media
products doesthe
client require?
What is the
timescale to deliver
the products to the
client?
Who is the intended
target audience the
client wishes the
product to appeal
to?
What are the legal
and ethical issues
relatingto the
production?
What constraints do
you have to work
within?
1. The clientis ‘RSPB’it shows this at the top left hand corner ofthewebpage, whereis wheretheaudiencewill firstlook a s it’s the‘strong fallow area’
which is goodbecause you’reinformed straight away who is running this creativeproduction andwho the client is.
2. The clientrequires four ofourbest wildlife images, althoughthey don’tstate whether they want this in portraitor landscape.
3. The competition‘RSPB’ is running begins onthe1st ofFebruary 2015 andthen finishes on Saturday 2nd May 2015, giving us a timescaleof122days to
deliver the products to theclient.
4. The clientwishes theirproduct to appealto ‘under 12’s and 12-18 year olds’ as itstates that they are thetwoagecategories, also ‘RSPB’ is teaming up
with ‘BWPA’ to presentthe‘young people’s award’so I’m guessing that their competitionis aimed at children betweentheages ofunder 12to 18.
5. Becausethe production is for children ofa young age there area fewlegaland ethicalissues such as ‘copyright’ ‘defamation’ ‘offensiveto individual’
and ‘offensiveto group’.
6. The rules arestatedthatwe the imagehas tobe taken bytheperson who is entering, they canonly acceptdigitalimages, youcan only enter four
pictures with a size ofatleast1Mb each andimages cannot beofdomestic pets, animals in cages or farmanimals, theRSPB willnotaccept
responsibility for lostor damaged entries and theRSPBreserves theright to useany entry in non-commercialpublications andexhibitions.
