maintaining appropriate behavior
among students.
 Its purpose is to improve positive
social behavior and scholastic
engagement of students in the
classroom.
 Principles of classroom
management work for all grade
levels and subjects.
IT’S IMPORTANCE IN A CLASSROOM
 Classroom management
establishes and supports a
systematic environment.
 It increases coherent academic
learning and allows both social and
emotional development.
 Increased time spent in
constructive work and decrease in
inappropriate behavior of
students.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT IS
EFFECTIVE WHEN
 Student expectations for learning
and behavior are stressed upon
 Student involvement and active
learning are supported
 Key student behaviors for success
are identified.
PRIMARY AREAS OF CONCERN
Educators primarily need to focus
on the following two aspects of
classroom management:
 Avoiding the occurrence of
discipline-related issues.
 Managing the existing discipline
issues.
