A Sheepdog Quotes
Lessons from a Sheepdog
In this essay, I will be comparing the relationship of Phillip and Lass with our relationship with God, I will be showing how our relationships are
similar. First, I will be comparing when Lass left after Phillip had picked her up and how he was trying to be kind and loving towards her, but she
did not know that because she had been mistreated all her life and how Jesus only wants what's good for us but we have been in some terrible
conditions that we cannot realize that He wants only good for us. Secondly, I will compare the times when Lass left the flock unattended because she
felt lonely and it frustrated Phillip because all the work became undone, and when we feel alone and that God has forgotten us and we attempt to make
the next move on our own which could mess up something we are working on. Lastly, I will be comparing Lass's eagerness to do what was assigned
by Phillip, and how we should be as eager to complete assigned tasks given to us by God. The first lesson that I read from the book is when Phillip had
first gotten Lass and she had pretty much just been mistreated all of her life up to that point. She felt scared and unaware of where she was going and
what was going to happen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She often came back scratched with thorns in her paws and burs in her fur, but she did it with delight and selfless abandon. Her willingness would
make Phillip wonder if he was that willing to do what God had for him or if he was ever as devoted to Him as Lass was towards him. This last lesson
really should be something that we should be able to think about so that we may draw nearer to Him. We should ask ourselves, "Am I being as faithful
to God and ready to do any task laid before me?" This is a very valuable lesson taught by a

High School Reflection Essay
When working at Wade King in Mr. Denton's fourth grade classroom, I found that the students were very excited to have Nicole and me as guest
teachers for their math hour. I had never worked with fourth grade students before, so their warm and inviting attitudes help calm my nerves. The
lessons went well and I was surprised by some of the students' connections that they had made throughout our lessons. For example, there were several
students that would bring up things that we hadn't talked about yet, but we were going to at the end of the lesson. Like the connection that certain
fractions were larger than other fractions and this connection tied into the end of the lesson where we would place fractions on a number line by
smallest to largest. It was so exciting to see students making these connections on their own and understanding the content that was being taught. I also
felt like I was able to support the students very well when they had questions or difficulty with the lesson. I must admit, I was intimidated by the new
fancy school and the fact that the students knew Chinese! Also, never having worked with fourth graders before, I didn't know what to expect or if I
was truly prepared. Then we began teaching and the students had questions that I could confidently answer! Everything that I had learned paid off and
it was such a good feeling to be able to support students learning. Something else that went well was teaching to Bridges. Bridges is so easy to follow

My Microteaching Lessons
My lessons were organized similarly in an "I Do, We Do, You Do format." While they both had some form of transition and flow, Microteaching 1 was
not as smooth as my second Microteaching. The first Microteaching had multiple sets of manipulatives and a worksheet to hand out. While these things
were all important to the lesson they could have been implemented with a better flow. Before the lesson, I had organized everything into groups and
set it up at the front table and I knew when I needed each manipulative. The content delivery and activities would flow smoothly but there would seem
to be a break every time where learning stopped. This interrupted the learning, flow, and organization of the class. During my Microteaching 2, I had...

The first change is to show more examples of what different pictographs look like. I started this lesson by showing a pictograph and having students
describe what they see. I think that it would be beneficial to show multiple pictographs so that students can find similarities and differences in them.
This will help students understand what their pictographs need to include and what changes from graph to graph. Another change that I would make
is to use data from our classroom. The data that I used in the lesson was data that I made up or found online. I think that adding data from our
classroom would be a great way to tie pictographs into other lessons that we have done before and give the students a personal connection to what they

Evaluation Of Lesson Assessments:. • The First Assessment
Evaluation of Lesson Assessments:
The first assessment is an informal assessment and it addresses objective three. It does not however, provide much insight as to if the students are
accomplishing objective two. Also, I do not think that there is enough class discussion about the contrast of roles of family members, historical fiction,
and memoirs to gain much of an understanding about where the students are with their learning.
The T–Chart assessment is well thought out. However, there is no rubric so it will be difficult for the students to remember and know what is expected
of them. It also, really only addresses objective three. This is a good idea, but it could be improved upon by the use of a rubric.
The final assessment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Demonstrate comprehension by answering questions about a text after listening to it. o The second objective is measurable because you can determine
if the students understand by the student's answers to the questions. However, I do not like how vague the objective is. I think that the objective needs
to add something about what type of questions they will be answering such as, key detail questions, character questions, etc. The objective is realistic,
but there is no time, however, time is not always needed. o I would rewrite the objective this way:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of the text by answering questions about key details in the text.
Practice analysis by drawing connections between a text and their own experiences, by comparing and contrasting ways families are alike and
different, and by categorizing information using a graphic organizer o This third objective is very wordy and seems confusing to me. I think that it is
trying to address two separate standards in one objective, which is overwhelming. The objective is measurable, specific, and action–oriented however.
The only problem is that the objective is unrealistic for one lesson because it addresses too many concepts in one objective. It also crosses curriculums,
which could get confusing when assessing. o I would rewrite the objective this way:
By the end of the lesson, the students will be

My Career At Western Carolina University Essay
Beginning my career at Western Carolina University, I had no idea the impact writing has on future educators. It is extremely important to have an
effective writing strategy in all aspects of teaching. You will be required to write lesson plans, referrals, and letters home to the parents. Each of these
have different strategies, and all of these are used simultaneously throughout the school year. Throughout the essay I will explain how to do each of
these writings, and also give step by step instructions on an effective way to make sure it is done correctly. The main thing teachers write islesson
plans. Lesson plans are not only to help you within your classroom, but also approved by the principal of that school to see how the classroom
management will be. They are broken down in time frames. Since most public schools go from approximately 9am to around 3pm, you break down
what you will do throughout the day. Most may assume this is a simple task, you just write down what you will teach and you are finished. It is way
more complex than this. You have to explain thelearning outcomes, materials needed, activities that will be done, explain the modifications, the
websites you used, the time it will take, and most importantly the common core standards. The learning outcomes are important. There has to be a
reason on why something is being taught, and how it will be useful to the students future. Throughout the paper, I'm going to give you an example of a

I Am A Math Lesson Essay
For my second lesson, I decided to conduct a math lesson as I had never conducted a math lesson in an elementary classroom let alone a 3rd grade
classroom. I discussed with my CT what math concept I could teach that pertained to one of the 3rd grade standards. My CT told me that I could
introduce the new concept of area to the class on the Friday that I was supposed to teach my lesson. I knew that that introducing a new topic on a
Friday in an elementary classroom was not ideal as the majority of teachers that I have observed in the past usually wrap up their week's lessons on
Friday. The Friday I was conducting my lesson was also a shorten day due to Fall Break, so I thought the students would show some off task behavior
for the early release day. These circumstances made me think hard about how I was going to introduce the concept of area to the students in an
effective way. I knew that I needed to have a lesson that included an exploratory hands– on activity to keep the students engaged and wanting to learn.
Therefore, I decided to use cheese crackers as manipulatives to represent square units. The students were to first guess what the area of the different
shapes in a worksheet packet were and then they were to use the crackers to figure out the actually area of the different shapes. I had been grading the
students' weekly math quizzes that pertained to arrays and multiplication a couple of weeks prior to my lesson which helped me presses the students'
knowledge on

Reflection On The First Texans Lesson Plan
I am going to use The First Texans lesson plan. I will ask the students to use some of the questions from The First Texans. Some questions will be
taken out, so it pertains more to the culture. Once the students finish the activity I will then tell them to go home find out what their culture is. Then
the next week dress up in what the people in their culture would wear. The students will then figure out what their relatives lives where like and they
learn where they came from. I would call up the dad of the Native American parents, and see if they would come to the school. When the Native
Americans come, they will tell the class what their ancestors did, and how they celebrate certain holidays. I would ask the Kenyan student to find vocab
word from The First Texan and have him translate from Swahili to English. That... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives them away to teach the other students about different cultures and traditions. Doing projects like having students rap, find vocabulary, and
bring in a guess speaker, can show them different learning styles. It is important for a student to be subjected to different learning styles because we all
learn differently. The strategies I used in the lesson plan to make it culturally diverse is making it fun for the students. I chose different students to do a
different task and then the students will learn from the task. The students will learn from the task, for the students or their parents will share what they
have learned. The strategy was also to get the students to learn more about each other and what they do in different cultures. The impact that the lesson
has is that it is fun and the students can see how different cultures work. It impacts the students and makes them feel important or needed. The lessons
will impact each student differently, for example a student might find the vocab in a different language interesting or the guest

How Students Learn And Effective Classroom Teaching...
SC2 Demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies and the capacity to work with colleagues to
continually improve teaching and learning.
At Mill Park Secondary College (Senior Campus), I have the opportunity to work with a group of Year 10 students on their financial mathematics. The
class is made up of 14 boys and 11 girls. And here is a glimpse of their background. This is a low SES co–ed school with an ICSEA value of 984 (My
School, 2015a), which is below the national average value of 1000 (ACARA, n.d.). Their numeracy score is conclusively below the national average
score of 580.
Teaching mathematics to these can be challenging as they lack a proper foundation in numeracy. Some, who lack interests in mathematics, tend to be
less cooperative and may endeavour to do as little as possible. However, research have shown that adolescent are most likely be engaged with a learning
session if they can relate to the content; and more importantly, if they can perceive value in what they learn.
So, as an introduction to financial mathematics, I decide to immerse them in a real–world problem context: comparison shopping at their local
supermarkets. I gave each of them a Coles or a Woolworths shopping brochure. The students are asked to identify and compare price–related
information of two products they buy regularly from either Coles or Woolworths, followed by a short class discussion to bring them to a greater
awareness about the

Attention Of Biblical World View
Attention to Biblical World View: This unit will integrate the nature of humans throughout all of the lessons. Each lesson will integrate an aspect
of humanity like guilt and vulnerability in lessons one and two. These areas are worth exploring since they have all since been tainted by the fall.
We were all created in the image of God as it is stated in Genesis 1:27. However, things like guilt lead to shame, vulnerability leads to the feeling of
being attacked, and we treat justice as though we know what is righteous but all of these things are tainted. Paul says in Romans 3:10, "None is
righteous, no, not one;" This passage reiterates the fact that no one is righteous, at least since the fall. However, there is but one who is righteous and
His name is Jesus. It is my hope that students realize, through their findings, that we only have one true desire and that is to be in restored relationship
to God. Only then can we no longer feel guilt or vulnerability. Students, as they work through the lessons, will come to realize the depravity of human
beings. They very well may reach the point of realization that humans are not good apart from God. It is my hope that these lessons at least start the
students down this path.
Attention to Literacy: Students will engage literacy in all facets through this unit. Students will use reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students
will be challenged in their reading by reading multiple texts. This also could be the first time the

Essay about Review on President Development Center
President Development Centre or usually shortened as PDC is a facility prepared by President University Education Foundation (PUEF) that as
his name has shown, provides place for people to develop themselves. This centre of development was started around four years ago, with only five
classes in one store and language lessons prepared for the students who want to learn about languages. With twenty five tutors, a director and four
employers (two staffs and two office boys), PDC has developed quite a lot in its years, where PDC already has fifteen classes in three stores and has
nothing more than only languages lessons. The services now available aside from language lessons are IT lessons, D1 for secretary and public
relations, D3 for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This package will be filled with lessons like business mathematics and accounting. It is being planned to be available around next year for the President
University students who are having difficulties in their lectures. The employers in President Development Centre are quite interested in this planning
since they have been asked by the students, especially the freshmen about lesson package for accounting.
President Development Centre would like to be "one of the best and known training centres in Indonesia that fulfils the need of companies and society
in increasing the human resources quality to be the educated, skilled and trained", as stated in its vision. And its mission is "professional, trusted and
keep trying to be the best." That is why President Development Centre has many students, whether they are from President University or the people
from other places and other cities who have heard about their quality.
PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT
President Development Centre uses principles of management to get to where it nature is right now and to get it where it wants to be in the future.
Those principles are Division of Work, Planning, Controlling and Continuous Quality Improvement. The explanations below will explain further about
the principles of managements which have been mentioned before.
Division of Work means that works should be divided among the employees,

exceptional leaners in need of extra reading support. Two are identified regarding written expression. Five are identified as having attention deficit
disorder. To make the lesson comparable for all I made sure to use a variety of tools from print sources, to digital tools and I allowed for small group

Personal Narrative : The Idea Of Writing A Personal...
The idea of writing a personal narrative terrifies me. Not because I don't have one, but simply because of the the past year I have had a tremendous
journey. My lesson was taught to me by my father, it simply goes "Be friendly with everyone, never break your word, make a joke when appropriate,
console someone when its not, and most importantly be the first to admit you're wrong" He taught me this lesson over the course of the year 2015, I
went through my summer, first semester, and second semester learning this lesson. It took me until late May of 2016 to finally understand it.
My journey begins spring–time 2015 I was enrolled in an online schhol at home and despised every countless hour of it. I had been homeschooled all
my life and I craved an escape. My chance arose with one simple move. I stopped working, in hindsight this move may not have been the most
intelligent, but it was my only solution. I personally thrive under competition and desired to be in public school. My idea worked and my mother
became fed up with me and promised I would start public school in the fall. I was nervous, excited, and scared all at once as I prepared to begin my
new school
The first semester began with waking up at 5:00 AM to catch the bus at 5:50. I wanted to throw up out of anxiety. My first day went well, met up
with my friends and met new teachers, when I got home I was dead tired. My day was far from over, it was Monday and I had just recently started
driving, and since I had

Life Lessons In Alchemist : Life Lessons In The Alchemist
In any books that you read you can gain many different morals and meanings from the book. You can gain different morals and meanings from the
story or from the way that all of the characters act with the conflicts in the story. In Alchemist there were many life lessons that you could learn
throughout reading the book. These are the life lessons i was able to gain from reading the book over the summer. One of the life lessons that was the
easiest to find ways to never give up on your dreams no matter what the world throws at you. The last two life lessons was that fear is a bigger
obstacle than the obstacle itself. And the final life lesson that I was able to gain from reading the book was that you should always get back up when
you fall. All of these life lessons have examples from the book and can be worked into real life. The first life lesson that I was able to gain through
reading the book was, to never give up on your dreams no matter what the world throws at you. There were many examples of this in the book. The
main reason that I was able to gain this life lesson was when Santiago got robbed on his journey. When he was robbed he was robbed by a man that
he trusted, however he did not give up on his journey to find the treasure. Santiago worked around him getting robbed by someone that he had trusted.
You can transform this life lesson many ways into life whether it has to do with school, sports, or just your everyday life. If you apply this to your
school if you

My Lesson Plans : Learning Needs And Interests By Using...
My lesson plans demonstrate the knowledge I gained about their specific learning needs and interests by using the information I obtained from
CLIP step two. I was the first person to get ahold of the writing pieces so they had yet to be corrected so I was able to see where the students needed
most help. Therefore, I based my lessons off of it. I chose to choose a mentor text that would spark their interest. In a previous education class I
witnessed the book being used with students and they loved it. I knew that this book would also be a good teaching tool for me to rely on. I knew this
book would be beneficial for the lesson. I read the book in the front of the room so that they were all able to see the pictures that the author was
describing through the text. I would stop periodically to point out great sentence fluency parts of the book. In the book, there are many repeating
statements but all said a different way. I would stop after we had heard the sentence more than once and ask the class how saying the sentence
differently made the writing more fluent. There were quite a few sentences repeated in the text but they all had to do with different things and the
students were able to point this out without asking by the end of the reading. I made sure to ask good opinion based and open–ended questions
throughout the text. This book did a wonderful job keeping the students attention and engaged. After observing the students interact with their teacher, I

framework is one way to keep the curriculum relevant and engaging. This chapter outlines three projects that show how integrating 21st century skills in
the elementary media framework can create authentic and meaningful learning experiences. Project one is the creation of a scope and sequence for the

Methodology for analysis and evaluation: The media curriculum content presented in this portfolio aligns with current ISD 659 media curriculum maps
and the mission statement of Northfield Public Schools:
"The mission of the Northfield Public Schools Media Program is to help all users become effective, ethical consumers and producers of information,
motivated readers, and life–long learners in our ever–changing world" ("Mission Statement," n.d).
In addition to the alignment of ISD 659 curriculum maps and mission statements; Information Technology Educators of Minnesota and American
Association of School Librarians Standards for the 21st– Century will also be used as a method of analysis and evaluation during the creation of the
elementary scope and sequence.
Context for implementation: These products were designed during the 2016–2017 school year; however, implementation is planned for the 2017–2018
school year. The scope and sequence acts as a guide for the practicing media specialist in implementation of 21st century skills and deployment of

My First Lesson On The Battle Of Lexington And Concord
This week I only attended three days for block teaching. Monday was Columbus Day so the school was closed and everyone had the day off. Friday
I did not attend because it was fall break for WIU so I decided to go home for the weekend. On Tuesday the students worked on Cornell notes for
several headings in their textbook. Then on Wednesday I taught my firstlesson on the battles of Lexington and Concord. The students analyzed two
primary source documents then as a class we discussed their similarities and differences. The lesson went well despite the fact that two–thirds of the
class was missing due to state testing. The fact that majority of the class made me worried for the lesson I prepared for the following day because
the two lessons were designed to match up. However, I was pleasantly surprised that Thursday's lesson went as smoothly as it did. The students stayed
on task and were focused so I did not have really any issues with classroom management. Since this week was short and I taught two out of the three
days I was present my teacher didn't have much involvement with his class. On Thursday when one student was getting a big rowdy before class due to
an argument my mentor pulled him into the hallway to address the situation. I believe my best classroom management skills were displayed during my
Wednesday lesson. Due to majority of the class being missing I got the vibe that the students who were present thought of it as a free day. I had one

The Impact Of Technology On The Classroom
The Significance of Technology in My Classroom
The impact on technology in the classroom has opened many new windows for educators. Technology can be used in various ways while working in a
classroom, whether that be a first grade classroom or a class of juniors in high school. Technology can help our students widen their knowledge. When
planning lessons, it is important that teachers incorporate some types of technology. When technology is used in your lessons, the students will be able
to achieve their learning goals. While using technology in the classrooms, teachers and students are able to connect with others around the world,
making technology a useful tool in building your classroom into a global learning community. The use of technology has been able to enhance and
individualize learning as well. While using technology it is important to remember to connect the content being and the specific learning goals,
otherwise the use of technology won't be as helpful during the lesson. The use of technology will supplement instruction, allowing students to achieve
content learning goals. When implementing technology into your classroom, it is important that you incorporate these aspects into your planning and
teaching.
In my fourth grade classroom, technology will be used in planning and achieving student learning goals. In each of the five lessons I have created, I
have provided a video for the students to watch. The videos are used to introduce each of the five food

My First Life Lesson
The first life lesson I had learnt from the speech of Dr Shah Rukh Khan is we should be bold in life. Life may not as easy as we think, there may be
many difficulties. In order to overcome our diffculties and fears, we have to be brave when we deal with it. If we live in fear, everything will go wrong
and we will not succeed. So, we should not let our fears become the obstacles that hinder our success, instead we should convert our fears and make it
as our courage to step up for ourselves in order to become a better person. One of my fear is to talk or speak in front of people. There are many
presentations to do for my assignments in college. I feel very nervous and sometimes I even forget what I supposed to say whenever I stand in front of
my classmates. In order to overcome my fear in front of crowd, I tried to find out the source of my fear and tackle down my fear. I always be prepared
before I present. Then I kept practicing in front of my friends and asking advices from my lecturer to improve my presentation skills so that I can
present confidently in front of people. Although I have not overcome my fear completely, but now I can talk better in front of other people and not be
as nervous as before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

2: Notes: Importance of knowledge – As humans, we never stop learning. From the day we are born to the day we die, we are constantly gaining
knowledge, the knowledge that we have makes us the people we are.
Lesson No. 3: Notes: Being unique – If we are all the same life would be boring and rather pointless. The point of being unique gives life meaning.

Notes:
Agency – A major theme in this movie is lack of agency, the member of the community can choose almost nothing for themselves, they don't know any
better. Without choices or opportunity people don't learn for themselves.
Sled – The sled represents freedom, without the sled Jonas probably wouldn't have crossed the boundary, without crossing the boundary the people
wouldn't know any better. I loved how in the movie, the first vision Jonas saw was of the sled and how at the end, the sled was Joans's saving grace,

My Professional Development Plan Is Directed Towards...
My personal professional development plan is directed towards helping me become a better teacher to help students learn and reach their full
potential. The skills I am working on to be a better teacher include, better time management, communication, and having a stronger teacher voice. I
plan to work on these goals throughout my time at York College of Pennsylvania and achieve them by the time I have completed my student
teaching, which will be in three years. If I feel a goal has been achieved before I complete my student teaching, I plan to add a new goal, while still
focusing on my previous goals to make them even stronger qualities.
My first skill is to have better time management. As of now, I feel I do have strong time management when dealing with arriving early and planning my
day out efficiently. I do have trouble with staying in the projected time frame during lessons. For example, if I have thirty minutes to teach a lesson, I
may take thirty–five to forty minutes. Typically, this is due to introduction of my lesson. I believe students need to grasp the concept in the beginning
of the lesson to be able to build off of the information and complete activities on their own without the help of other students or myself.
Like I said, as of now, I do have fair time management skills, but they certainly need improvement. My goal is to be able to plan lessons and keep
them in the projected time frame; this includes being within 2 minutes under or over.

Learning And Teaching Process : My Partner Madelyn And I
Upon assignment of our Skill Teach project, my partner Madelyn and I, began discussing several activities in which we could teach one another. This
discussion lasted close to half an hour before we determined a motor skill that I would be able to instruct Madelyn through. The final motor skill we
pin pointed was knot tying. This motor skill was something that I had experience with, and that Madelyn was unknowledgeable but interested in learning
. The following information, it a brief overview of the learning and teaching process that occurred.
With a wide topic like knot tying, I soon found that I needed to narrow down what specific knots I would teach Madelyn before beginning. After
much debate, I concluded that the most useful knot series to teach Madelyn at this time, would be a figure eight knot. From this I was able to create

Students Should Be A Preset Learning Position Essay
First, students should be in a preset learning position in which they have greater attention and openness to the explanations and instructions. After
presenting the learning objective, the material available and expected products, the student participation is requested to do a review about concepts and
procedures, in order to review the steps to solve equations with binomials and polynomials. At this point, it is important to consider the appropriate
momentum (Saphier and Gower, 1997) to keep lesson in motion by overlapping to maximize time taking attendance while the review is done, and
provisioning to get all the necessary materials to avoid breaks in the process. Students are organized into working groups (a maximum of four
participants) for the purpose of activating cooperation, as well as the dialogue and discussion about solving equations. Once students are ready to
start its work, the teacher presents a summary of the most important aspects to consider during the process of solving the equations, circling around
the working groups, answering questions and reviewing the progress of the students. This could be more effective if the instruction is subdivided
(Saphier and Gower, 1997) by socializing and requesting some answers for example, and also by asking how they got to step two or three before
reaching the solution, so that the lesson is flexible and accessible for all students – according to their level of ownership – since (Darch & Crichlow,
2003) teachers can

Tablets: A New Force Taking Over the Classroom
Discovering what is the best possible way for students to learn is the constant topic professors and dean's are discussing. How can my students better
understand the material ,how can I make this course more interesting and what can I do to improve my teaching skills, these are just some of the
questions professors ask themselves on a daily basis. The way of teaching with textbooks has always been the traditional method, but seems to never
change. The lessons are the same and students are constantly hearing the same lectures time and time again. Discussions that are not appealing quickly
lose the focus of students and therefore they are not receiving the information needed to pass the course. If tablets are introduced a wide range of
applications can improve the interaction between the students and professors and increase productivity in the classroom. In a study done by the
USAToday.com, students attending Abilene ChristianUniversity in Texas found they can digitally highlight material and make notes, and share these
notes with others in the class, all through the use of a tablet. Many of the students noticed how this helps them absorb the material because the notes
and feedback are given in real time, therefore reinforcing the lesson. Many parents are skeptical if these devices help their children understand the
material more, they want to know how this will help them. Parents care so much about the well being of their children that they would do anything for
them, and

My Hockey Lesson Lessons
When life gets hard, get hard back. This is the lesson I have learned through this last hockey season. My coach, my teammates, my parents, all taught
me this one lesson and from this, I became a better, athlete, student, and probably the most important a better person. Through this essay, I will share
this lesson and how it applies to my story and hopefully, it can apply to your story as well. In 8th grade I moved here to Camas from a small town in
Alaska where hockey was a lifestyle. We moved after tryouts however so I couldn't play that season. Over the summer I decided to go out for the
team pretty confident that I would be the best player on the team because who ever heard of big hockey in Vancouver? That was the most I've been
wrong in a long time. The first day of tryouts I could barely skate backwards due to not playing an entire season and I was completely blown out of
the water by my new team. Looking back they weren't even that good to be honest but compared to me at the time they could have been NHL
All–Stars. That was just the beginning of one of the biggest life lessons I would learn. My 5th practice of the season I got into a fight with one of
my teammates because he came over and started yelling at me for screwing up the drill. This was an enormous shock to me for two reasons, first one
is because it was my first hockey fight and second because it was an enormous transition to go from being one of the best on your old team to coming
to a new one and

The Impact Assessment For Learning
Introduction
Despite the amount of current research on the impact assessment for learning (AfL) strategies have had on student's achievement levels across the
secondary curriculum, there has been limited attention on its effect on students within design and technology and more specifically textiles.
This critical evaluation therefore reflects upon a range of AfL strategies used within a unit of work on construction techniques for a year 10 textiles
class at School X. The analysis was made across 3 consecutive lessons over 3 weeks, each lesson would include a different AfL strategy or a
combination of a range of different strategies.
School X is a small academy comprehensive providing secondary education to mixed gender 11–16 year olds with an above average percentage of
SEN students. This group consists of 17 students, all female, with a mixture of high and low attainers and 3 SEN pupils who all have mild learning
difficulties (MLD) and lack of confidence within themselves and their work.
At School X, they hold strong belief that AfL needs to be a part of every lesson to create independent learners. They focus on lessons driven by WALT
(we are learning to) and WILFs (what I am look for) as well as rich questioning, peer– and self–assessment, amongst many other key strategies to
develop learners to their full potential.
Within textiles technology as well as other practical based subjects marking work can be very subjective and so it can be tricky at times to mark work

Kounin Mode Theory Of Jacob Kounin's Discipline And Group...
First,Elearn Portal,(2016)post theKounin Mode theory of Jacob Kounin. He is recognized for two studies concerning classroom management in the
1970's. These readings emphasized how teachers could manage students, lessons and classrooms to reduce the incidence of bad behaviour. This theorist
acknowledged definite teaching techniques that help, and hinder, classroom discipline. Bestowing to Kounin, the method used, not the teacher's
personality, is the most crucial aspect in classroom management of student behaviour. The title of his book is Discipline and Group Management in
Classrooms which centres on preventive discipline. He says that, good classroom management depends on operative lesson management. He also
acknowledged a group of proactive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The result is greater when the teacher clearly names the unacceptable behaviour of the pupil and provides the reasons why the behaviour is
unacceptable. Wittiness is the second coined by Kounin, it defines the need for the teacher to be attentive of what is going on in all parts of the
classroom at all times. Pupils need to know that the teacher is aware of what is going on in the classroom. According to him, when pupils are off–task,
the teacher should send a clear message that communicates to students the awareness that they are not working and that they need to become engaged.
The classroom applications of wittiness comprise; constantly being alert to the myriad of sights and sounds in the classroom, spacing out the classroom
so that all students are always within eyesight, look over the room periodically when working with individuals or small groups of pupils, when helping
an individual pupil, the teacher faces the rest of the class, and briefly acknowledging pupil misbehaviour at first discovery to let the pupil and the whole
class know that the teacher is alert. Wittiness encompasses the use of maintaining eye contact, asking individual and group questions, continually
moving around the classroom in a random fashion and specifically moving toward impending misbehaving students, thus, redirecting students to
prevent misbehaviour.( Kyla Cook,

Evaluation Of A Lesson And A Mathematics Non Appraised Lesson
This essay closely reflects upon and evaluates two lessons taught within SE1. The school in which these lessons were taught is a primary academy,
which size is larger than average. The majority of pupils are white British pupils but ethnic minorities are consistently increasing; the amount of EAL
children is significantly high. Ofsted graded the behaviour within school to be outstanding. The class concerned is a year three class, in their summer
term.
My SE1 targets include: To develop assessment techniques, to develop curriculum knowledge and to develop the ability to meet the needs of all pupils
through differentiation (appendix 1). The two lessons which are going to be evaluated within this discussion includes a science appraised ... Show more

However, differentiation is very important in helping children to become motivated and reach their potential (Pollard, 2000) as children feel both
sufficiently challenged yet are still able to complete the work set. Although this view is currently being questioned within current reports as a new set
of pedagogy comes into place in some schools within mathematics entitled mastery, suggesting that differentiation is becoming obsolete in mathematics
for those who follow this program, as it suggests the whole class to learn the same content at the same rate (NCETM, 2015).
The first lesson highlighted is a mathematics lesson taught within a streamed class, the lesson revolved around perimeter (appendix 2). Differentiation
within this lesson was a weak area, although it was attempted. The dominant use of differentiation within this lesson was through choice, as shown in
the mathematics plan (appendix 2) children were given a choice of two activities. They were able to choose which activity they felt they could do.
This was inspired by research stating, "If students are given choice, they challenge themselves more than teachers do" (TES, 2012) this suggests that a
higher level of challenge may be created for some children who were perhaps usually given the average ability group work could now challenge
themselves if they felt confident. However, in practise many capable children were choosing to do the easier activity, the challenge created failed to
motivate them,

The Video Of The Lesson
Lesson Analysis
After reviewing the video of the lesson I recorded and analyzing the results, I feel very positive about the lesson outcomes. Prior to the start of this
lesson, each student completed the pre–assessment. Students were then placed in groups based on their readiness level. This assessment displayed the
need for differentiation during small group instruction. To beginthe lesson I brought in a stuffed chicken to use as a tool to introduce the concept of
using digraphs. This activity seemed to start on a positive note. The students were excited and seemed eager to learn. While I was discussing the "ch"
digraph found in the word "chicken" the students seemed to be fully attentive. I was impressed as to how well they were listening. During guided
practice, as a whole group the students practiced using digraphs and learned the sounds they make using the website kidspiration.com on the Smart
Board. The students were actively engaged during this activity. It was apparent they enjoyed the integration of technology within the lesson. They then
participated in a digraph picture sorting activity. It was fun to see students the students working collaboratively with each other to sort the pictures.
After reflecting on this portion of the lesson, I feel this is an area in need of improvement. I feel it would have been more effective to break students up
into smaller groups prior to completing the picture sorting activity. Some students seemed to struggle staying on

Dual Language Reflection Paper
The instruction of this lesson took place in a 2nd grade Spanish dual language classroom. The total number of students that were present that day were
27 students. I videotaped two out of the three lessons taught, but decided to choose the first video because of the level of student engagement. The
video I chose is from the first minutes of the first lesson including the hook and it goes into the moment that students start carrying out their own
investigations through the construction and the creation of their own clay boats. Even before I asked the hook, the students were raising their hands,
which is common for them to do. What I feel I should have done was asked them to put their hands down and think for three seconds about the question
before they raise their hands. Something that I noticed that did work during the teaching of this lesson was manipulating the clay in front of them and
acting as if I going to drop it in. The students got very creative with some of the answers, but those are the answers that are worth jotting down as well
because that might be what other students are thinking.
Something that I didn't take into account right away was that not all students could see from where they were standing. Therefore, I'm glad my
cooperating teacher started to move the students. The wording of my directions was not as clear as I had planned for when taking everyone into
account because the students at the middle table also started to stand up just like the students

Why Teens Should Be Banned In The Book Lailah
"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"–District Attorney Harvey Dent The Dark Knight. Many books contain
like this one, that contain powerful messages and lessons in them so then why are these books banned? The people who decide whether a boko
should be banned from the libraries and schools don't see the importance of the lessons that are shown in them. They ban the books because they
contain themes that they think teens shouldn't be able to read. They don't look closely and there are many lessons tens can learn about, by simply
reading books.Like the book Lailah it contains many powerful lessons through a story that isn't real.Teens should be allowed to read Lailah
because it teaches teens how to have courage in dangerous situations,it shows teens that you shouldn't trust someone even if they give you
everything, and that not all memories will bring back a happy past. The first reason why teens should be able to read this book is because it shows
Cessie having courage on a dangerous situation. When Cessie and Jonah are going to be attacked by the original vampires she decides to take
action by letting Jonah drink from her so that they can escape death. " 'How will your friends heal you?' I demanded, He looked at me puzzled.

Reflective Philosophy In Education
Throughout my education, I had the benefit of attending fifteen different schools in various locations in the United States. This provided me with the
opportunity to experience a variety of teaching methods and philosophies utilized by educators. Also, my son attended eight different schools in
various states that provided me with additional exposure to various teaching methods. By using my past experiences along with my current studies, I
lean heavily towards an overall constructivist philosophy, though each of the philosophies commonly referenced has aspects that are beneficial to
students' learning also.
As Dewey, I believe in providing a classroom atmosphere that is democratically focused where students feel comfortable to communicate and express
their opinions while respecting and listening to others. With this in mind, I plan to provide and facilitate many opportunities for students to converse
and collaborate together while working on projects so students can learn to appreciate different perspectives. By providing students with a voice in the
classroom, students can also participate in setting the goals and objectives of not only the lessons, but allows them to take responsibility for their
personal learning and growth. Dewey also believed that students learned best through real–life, hands–on experiences that have meaning to the learner
and previous experiences can be applied in new ways. Teachers are responsible for providing these opportunities and encouraging

My First Lesson About Gambling

What the Text Says
Style/Rhetorical Choices
What the Text DOES
"This was my first lesson about gambling: if you see somebody winning all the time, he isn't gambling, he's cheating. Later on in life, if I were
continuously losing in any gambling situation, I would watch very closely. It's like the Negro in America seeing the white man win all the time. He's
a professional gambler; he has all the cards and the odds stacked on his side, and he has always dealt to our people from the bottom of the deck" (Haley
16).
Malcolm X describes an early time in his life when he lived in the "ghetto" and took part in activities that included gambling and drug dealing. He
connects those experiences with nationwide issues at the time: racism, discrimination, and inequality. Growing up, Malcolm had always noticed how
people of the white race had a substantial amount of advantages in life. Most things seemed to work in their favor. For those of the darker race, the
amount of opportunities they had was not the same; just by their appearance and color, they had immediately been placed at the bottom of society
from birth and there was no possible way to rise up.

Through the use of an anecdote, the author establishes a better connection with those who can relate from his experiences.
With his knowledge of gambling, Malcolm X explains how the practice of it is similar to the viewpoints of blacks towards whites during the 1930s

Analysis Of The Body By Stephen King
In the short story, The Body, written by Stephen King, various life lessons are evident in the adventure the four main characters have. The life lessons
chosen by the author are reflective of life lessons that could be learned by the reader, and life lessons that are not always vocalized. In Stephen King's
The Body, the group of young boys learn many different life lessons including family not always being trustworthy, some things should be kept to
yourself, and that friends, even best friends, can split up. The main characters all have unique, yet abusive, relationships with their families. As said in
the introductory paragraph, this choice made by Stephen King was incredibly important and wise to make because especially in the sixties, which is
when the story takes place, it was a common occurrence that was often overlooked. One of the most evident life lessons in the story was that
relatives should not get a free pass to hurt each other. The character Teddy's relationship with his father was overlooked, exclusively by Teddy
himself, "Teddy's dad took Teddy over to the big woodstove at the back of the kitchen and shoved the side of Teddy's head down against one of the
cast–iron burner plates". Teddy had a lot of respect for the father for the soul reason that he is his father. If it was not for the fact that Teddy's father
messed him up physically and mentally for life, Teddy would treat the person with a lot less respect and nobility. Despite that his father only

Describe The Quality Of Myself
Every person has their own personality and have their own qualities, behaviour and thinking. When it comes to me, I would describe myself as a
hard working, calm, patient and a friendly person. I would also describe myself as confident person when it comes to make choices and as a
person who learns from failure. I am a person who works hard and puts all the efforts into any work that I'm working on. I always try to give my
best and if I fail in something, I learn from my mistakes and keep trying until I reach my goal instead of giving up. I'm also a very friendly person
and can work with other people around me with great ease. I get along with people very well even if I am meeting the person for the first time.
When it comes to making decisions for myself I can stand up for myself and make a confident decision for myself. Sometimes it is very difficult to
decide something but I don't remember a time when I gave up because giving up is not my habit. Working in a team is one thing that every
profession has, either if its in a school, college, university or a professional career. Its very important that every person in a team gets along with
other people and motivate each other. If I were to consider myself, I think that I have some good qualities that considers me as a good team member.
One quality of a group member is that helping others out that are present in the group. This quality can be found in me as I am able to help others in

Marian Wright Edelman 's Measure Of Our Success
"Any fool can know. The point is to understand" (Albert Einstein). Life is an item that most people do not understand. People ask others to answer
what they want, instead of experiencing it for themselves; however, mentors help a person get through the difficult points in life with some life lessons.
Though life lessons do not unlock all the secrets to life, they help people understand life a little better.
Life lessons can come from anywhere. For some, they come with it on their own, for others, they require a little assistance from those they interact
with. For instance, at the university, some life lessons have come to light. Through the discussion earlier in the semester, the life lessons throughout
Marian Wright Edelman's Measure of Our Success have left several life lessons as a takeaway. For instance, life lesson eleven, "Sell the shadow for the
substance," which basically means that the substance, is something that takes up space, is more important than the shadow, a superficial being that
does not stay with you at all times. To sell the shadow, things in our life that do not really mean anything, for the substance, objects that help achieve a
higher version of ourselves, is important and helps with understanding that if a person focuses on bettering their selves than achieving meaningless
belongings, they will be able to proceed through life with the knowledge that substance outweighs the shadow of material objects; likewise, life lesson
nineteen, "Try to live in

Lessons from a Sheepdog: Comparing Relationships with God

  • 1. A Sheepdog Quotes Lessons from a Sheepdog In this essay, I will be comparing the relationship of Phillip and Lass with our relationship with God, I will be showing how our relationships are similar. First, I will be comparing when Lass left after Phillip had picked her up and how he was trying to be kind and loving towards her, but she did not know that because she had been mistreated all her life and how Jesus only wants what's good for us but we have been in some terrible conditions that we cannot realize that He wants only good for us. Secondly, I will compare the times when Lass left the flock unattended because she felt lonely and it frustrated Phillip because all the work became undone, and when we feel alone and that God has forgotten us and we attempt to make the next move on our own which could mess up something we are working on. Lastly, I will be comparing Lass's eagerness to do what was assigned by Phillip, and how we should be as eager to complete assigned tasks given to us by God. The first lesson that I read from the book is when Phillip had first gotten Lass and she had pretty much just been mistreated all of her life up to that point. She felt scared and unaware of where she was going and what was going to happen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She often came back scratched with thorns in her paws and burs in her fur, but she did it with delight and selfless abandon. Her willingness would make Phillip wonder if he was that willing to do what God had for him or if he was ever as devoted to Him as Lass was towards him. This last lesson really should be something that we should be able to think about so that we may draw nearer to Him. We should ask ourselves, "Am I being as faithful to God and ready to do any task laid before me?" This is a very valuable lesson taught by a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. High School Reflection Essay When working at Wade King in Mr. Denton's fourth grade classroom, I found that the students were very excited to have Nicole and me as guest teachers for their math hour. I had never worked with fourth grade students before, so their warm and inviting attitudes help calm my nerves. The lessons went well and I was surprised by some of the students' connections that they had made throughout our lessons. For example, there were several students that would bring up things that we hadn't talked about yet, but we were going to at the end of the lesson. Like the connection that certain fractions were larger than other fractions and this connection tied into the end of the lesson where we would place fractions on a number line by smallest to largest. It was so exciting to see students making these connections on their own and understanding the content that was being taught. I also felt like I was able to support the students very well when they had questions or difficulty with the lesson. I must admit, I was intimidated by the new fancy school and the fact that the students knew Chinese! Also, never having worked with fourth graders before, I didn't know what to expect or if I was truly prepared. Then we began teaching and the students had questions that I could confidently answer! Everything that I had learned paid off and it was such a good feeling to be able to support students learning. Something else that went well was teaching to Bridges. Bridges is so easy to follow and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Microteaching Lessons My lessons were organized similarly in an "I Do, We Do, You Do format." While they both had some form of transition and flow, Microteaching 1 was not as smooth as my second Microteaching. The first Microteaching had multiple sets of manipulatives and a worksheet to hand out. While these things were all important to the lesson they could have been implemented with a better flow. Before the lesson, I had organized everything into groups and set it up at the front table and I knew when I needed each manipulative. The content delivery and activities would flow smoothly but there would seem to be a break every time where learning stopped. This interrupted the learning, flow, and organization of the class. During my Microteaching 2, I had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first change is to show more examples of what different pictographs look like. I started this lesson by showing a pictograph and having students describe what they see. I think that it would be beneficial to show multiple pictographs so that students can find similarities and differences in them. This will help students understand what their pictographs need to include and what changes from graph to graph. Another change that I would make is to use data from our classroom. The data that I used in the lesson was data that I made up or found online. I think that adding data from our classroom would be a great way to tie pictographs into other lessons that we have done before and give the students a personal connection to what they are ... • 4. Evaluation Of Lesson Assessments:. • The First Assessment Evaluation of Lesson Assessments: The first assessment is an informal assessment and it addresses objective three. It does not however, provide much insight as to if the students are accomplishing objective two. Also, I do not think that there is enough class discussion about the contrast of roles of family members, historical fiction, and memoirs to gain much of an understanding about where the students are with their learning. The T–Chart assessment is well thought out. However, there is no rubric so it will be difficult for the students to remember and know what is expected of them. It also, really only addresses objective three. This is a good idea, but it could be improved upon by the use of a rubric. The final assessment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Demonstrate comprehension by answering questions about a text after listening to it. o The second objective is measurable because you can determine if the students understand by the student's answers to the questions. However, I do not like how vague the objective is. I think that the objective needs to add something about what type of questions they will be answering such as, key detail questions, character questions, etc. The objective is realistic, but there is no time, however, time is not always needed. o I would rewrite the objective this way: By the end of the lesson the students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of the text by answering questions about key details in the text. Practice analysis by drawing connections between a text and their own experiences, by comparing and contrasting ways families are alike and different, and by categorizing information using a graphic organizer o This third objective is very wordy and seems confusing to me. I think that it is trying to address two separate standards in one objective, which is overwhelming. The objective is measurable, specific, and action–oriented however. The only problem is that the objective is unrealistic for one lesson because it addresses too many concepts in one objective. It also crosses curriculums, which could get confusing when assessing. o I would rewrite the objective this way: By the end of the lesson, the students will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Career At Western Carolina University Essay Beginning my career at Western Carolina University, I had no idea the impact writing has on future educators. It is extremely important to have an effective writing strategy in all aspects of teaching. You will be required to write lesson plans, referrals, and letters home to the parents. Each of these have different strategies, and all of these are used simultaneously throughout the school year. Throughout the essay I will explain how to do each of these writings, and also give step by step instructions on an effective way to make sure it is done correctly. The main thing teachers write islesson plans. Lesson plans are not only to help you within your classroom, but also approved by the principal of that school to see how the classroom management will be. They are broken down in time frames. Since most public schools go from approximately 9am to around 3pm, you break down what you will do throughout the day. Most may assume this is a simple task, you just write down what you will teach and you are finished. It is way more complex than this. You have to explain thelearning outcomes, materials needed, activities that will be done, explain the modifications, the websites you used, the time it will take, and most importantly the common core standards. The learning outcomes are important. There has to be a reason on why something is being taught, and how it will be useful to the students future. Throughout the paper, I'm going to give you an example of a lesson plan I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. I Am A Math Lesson Essay For my second lesson, I decided to conduct a math lesson as I had never conducted a math lesson in an elementary classroom let alone a 3rd grade classroom. I discussed with my CT what math concept I could teach that pertained to one of the 3rd grade standards. My CT told me that I could introduce the new concept of area to the class on the Friday that I was supposed to teach my lesson. I knew that that introducing a new topic on a Friday in an elementary classroom was not ideal as the majority of teachers that I have observed in the past usually wrap up their week's lessons on Friday. The Friday I was conducting my lesson was also a shorten day due to Fall Break, so I thought the students would show some off task behavior for the early release day. These circumstances made me think hard about how I was going to introduce the concept of area to the students in an effective way. I knew that I needed to have a lesson that included an exploratory hands– on activity to keep the students engaged and wanting to learn. Therefore, I decided to use cheese crackers as manipulatives to represent square units. The students were to first guess what the area of the different shapes in a worksheet packet were and then they were to use the crackers to figure out the actually area of the different shapes. I had been grading the students' weekly math quizzes that pertained to arrays and multiplication a couple of weeks prior to my lesson which helped me presses the students' knowledge on ... • 7. Reflection On The First Texans Lesson Plan I am going to use The First Texans lesson plan. I will ask the students to use some of the questions from The First Texans. Some questions will be taken out, so it pertains more to the culture. Once the students finish the activity I will then tell them to go home find out what their culture is. Then the next week dress up in what the people in their culture would wear. The students will then figure out what their relatives lives where like and they learn where they came from. I would call up the dad of the Native American parents, and see if they would come to the school. When the Native Americans come, they will tell the class what their ancestors did, and how they celebrate certain holidays. I would ask the Kenyan student to find vocab word from The First Texan and have him translate from Swahili to English. That... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It gives them away to teach the other students about different cultures and traditions. Doing projects like having students rap, find vocabulary, and bring in a guess speaker, can show them different learning styles. It is important for a student to be subjected to different learning styles because we all learn differently. The strategies I used in the lesson plan to make it culturally diverse is making it fun for the students. I chose different students to do a different task and then the students will learn from the task. The students will learn from the task, for the students or their parents will share what they have learned. The strategy was also to get the students to learn more about each other and what they do in different cultures. The impact that the lesson has is that it is fun and the students can see how different cultures work. It impacts the students and makes them feel important or needed. • 8. How Students Learn And Effective Classroom Teaching... SC2 Demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning. At Mill Park Secondary College (Senior Campus), I have the opportunity to work with a group of Year 10 students on their financial mathematics. The class is made up of 14 boys and 11 girls. And here is a glimpse of their background. This is a low SES co–ed school with an ICSEA value of 984 (My School, 2015a), which is below the national average value of 1000 (ACARA, n.d.). Their numeracy score is conclusively below the national average score of 580. Teaching mathematics to these can be challenging as they lack a proper foundation in numeracy. Some, who lack interests in mathematics, tend to be less cooperative and may endeavour to do as little as possible. However, research have shown that adolescent are most likely be engaged with a learning session if they can relate to the content; and more importantly, if they can perceive value in what they learn. So, as an introduction to financial mathematics, I decide to immerse them in a real–world problem context: comparison shopping at their local supermarkets. I gave each of them a Coles or a Woolworths shopping brochure. The students are asked to identify and compare price–related information of two products they buy regularly from either Coles or Woolworths, followed by a short class discussion to bring them to a greater awareness about the ... • 9. Attention Of Biblical World View Attention to Biblical World View: This unit will integrate the nature of humans throughout all of the lessons. Each lesson will integrate an aspect of humanity like guilt and vulnerability in lessons one and two. These areas are worth exploring since they have all since been tainted by the fall. We were all created in the image of God as it is stated in Genesis 1:27. However, things like guilt lead to shame, vulnerability leads to the feeling of being attacked, and we treat justice as though we know what is righteous but all of these things are tainted. Paul says in Romans 3:10, "None is righteous, no, not one;" This passage reiterates the fact that no one is righteous, at least since the fall. However, there is but one who is righteous and His name is Jesus. It is my hope that students realize, through their findings, that we only have one true desire and that is to be in restored relationship to God. Only then can we no longer feel guilt or vulnerability. Students, as they work through the lessons, will come to realize the depravity of human beings. They very well may reach the point of realization that humans are not good apart from God. It is my hope that these lessons at least start the students down this path. Attention to Literacy: Students will engage literacy in all facets through this unit. Students will use reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students will be challenged in their reading by reading multiple texts. This also could be the first time the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay about Review on President Development Center President Development Centre or usually shortened as PDC is a facility prepared by President University Education Foundation (PUEF) that as his name has shown, provides place for people to develop themselves. This centre of development was started around four years ago, with only five classes in one store and language lessons prepared for the students who want to learn about languages. With twenty five tutors, a director and four employers (two staffs and two office boys), PDC has developed quite a lot in its years, where PDC already has fifteen classes in three stores and has nothing more than only languages lessons. The employers in President Development Centre are quite interested in this planning since they have been asked by the students, especially the freshmen about lesson package for accounting. President Development Centre would like to be "one of the best and known training centres in Indonesia that fulfils the need of companies and society in increasing the human resources quality to be the educated, skilled and trained", as stated in its vision. And its mission is "professional, trusted and keep trying to be the best." That is why President Development Centre has many students, whether they are from President University or the people from other places and other cities who have heard about their quality. PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT President Development Centre uses principles of management to get to where it nature is right now and to get it where it wants to be in the future. Those principles are Division of Work, Planning, Controlling and Continuous Quality Improvement. Two are identified regarding written expression. Five are identified as having attention deficit disorder. To make the lesson comparable for all I made sure to use a variety of tools from print sources, to digital tools and I allowed for small group and whole group instruction. • 12. Personal Narrative : The Idea Of Writing A Personal... The idea of writing a personal narrative terrifies me. Not because I don't have one, but simply because of the the past year I have had a tremendous journey. My lesson was taught to me by my father, it simply goes "Be friendly with everyone, never break your word, make a joke when appropriate, console someone when its not, and most importantly be the first to admit you're wrong" He taught me this lesson over the course of the year 2015, I went through my summer, first semester, and second semester learning this lesson. It took me until late May of 2016 to finally understand it. My journey begins spring–time 2015 I was enrolled in an online schhol at home and despised every countless hour of it. I had been homeschooled all my life and I craved an escape. My chance arose with one simple move. I stopped working, in hindsight this move may not have been the most intelligent, but it was my only solution. I personally thrive under competition and desired to be in public school. My idea worked and my mother became fed up with me and promised I would start public school in the fall. I was nervous, excited, and scared all at once as I prepared to begin my new school The first semester began with waking up at 5:00 AM to catch the bus at 5:50. I wanted to throw up out of anxiety. My first day went well, met up with my friends and met new teachers, when I got home I was dead tired. You can gain different morals and meanings from the story or from the way that all of the characters act with the conflicts in the story. In Alchemist there were many life lessons that you could learn throughout reading the book. These are the life lessons i was able to gain from reading the book over the summer. One of the life lessons that was the easiest to find ways to never give up on your dreams no matter what the world throws at you. The last two life lessons was that fear is a bigger obstacle than the obstacle itself. And the final life lesson that I was able to gain from reading the book was that you should always get back up when you fall. All of these life lessons have examples from the book and can be worked into real life. The first life lesson that I was able to gain through reading the book was, to never give up on your dreams no matter what the world throws at you. There were many examples of this in the book. The main reason that I was able to gain this life lesson was when Santiago got robbed on his journey. When he was robbed he was robbed by a man that he trusted, however he did not give up on his journey to find the treasure. Santiago worked around him getting robbed by someone that he had trusted. You can transform this life lesson many ways into life whether it has to do with school, sports, or just your everyday life. If you apply this to your school if you ... My lesson plans demonstrate the knowledge I gained about their specific learning needs and interests by using the information I obtained from CLIP step two. I was the first person to get ahold of the writing pieces so they had yet to be corrected so I was able to see where the students needed most help. Therefore, I based my lessons off of it. I chose to choose a mentor text that would spark their interest. In a previous education class I witnessed the book being used with students and they loved it. I knew that this book would also be a good teaching tool for me to rely on. I knew this book would be beneficial for the lesson. I read the book in the front of the room so that they were all able to see the pictures that the author was describing through the text. I would stop periodically to point out great sentence fluency parts of the book. In the book, there are many repeating statements but all said a different way. I would stop after we had heard the sentence more than once and ask the class how saying the sentence differently made the writing more fluent. There were quite a few sentences repeated in the text but they all had to do with different things and the students were able to point this out without asking by the end of the reading. I made sure to ask good opinion based and open–ended questions throughout the text. This book did a wonderful job keeping the students attention and engaged. After observing the students interact with their teacher, I knew the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Integrating 21st century skills into the media framework is one way to keep the curriculum relevant and engaging. This chapter outlines three projects that show how integrating 21st century skills in the elementary media framework can create authentic and meaningful learning experiences. Project one is the creation of a scope and sequence for the use of an elementary media specialist teaching grades kindergarten through fifth. Project two is the culmination of 24 step– by– step lessons that integrate with the scope and sequence. Lastly, project three includes 24 assessment options that correspond with each of ... • 17. My First Lesson On The Battle Of Lexington And Concord This week I only attended three days for block teaching. Monday was Columbus Day so the school was closed and everyone had the day off. Friday I did not attend because it was fall break for WIU so I decided to go home for the weekend. On Tuesday the students worked on Cornell notes for several headings in their textbook. Then on Wednesday I taught my firstlesson on the battles of Lexington and Concord. The students analyzed two primary source documents then as a class we discussed their similarities and differences. The lesson went well despite the fact that two–thirds of the class was missing due to state testing. The fact that majority of the class made me worried for the lesson I prepared for the following day because the two lessons were designed to match up. However, I was pleasantly surprised that Thursday's lesson went as smoothly as it did. The students stayed on task and were focused so I did not have really any issues with classroom management. Since this week was short and I taught two out of the three days I was present my teacher didn't have much involvement with his class. On Thursday when one student was getting a big rowdy before class due to an argument my mentor pulled him into the hallway to address the situation. I believe my best classroom management skills were displayed during my Wednesday lesson. Due to majority of the class being missing I got the vibe that the students who were present thought of it as a free day. I had one student who decided ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. The Impact Of Technology On The Classroom The Significance of Technology in My Classroom The impact on technology in the classroom has opened many new windows for educators. Technology can be used in various ways while working in a classroom, whether that be a first grade classroom or a class of juniors in high school. Technology can help our students widen their knowledge. When planning lessons, it is important that teachers incorporate some types of technology. When technology is used in your lessons, the students will be able to achieve their learning goals. While using technology in the classrooms, teachers and students are able to connect with others around the world, making technology a useful tool in building your classroom into a global learning community. The use of technology has been able to enhance and individualize learning as well. While using technology it is important to remember to connect the content being and the specific learning goals, otherwise the use of technology won't be as helpful during the lesson. The use of technology will supplement instruction, allowing students to achieve content learning goals. When implementing technology into your classroom, it is important that you incorporate these aspects into your planning and teaching. In my fourth grade classroom, technology will be used in planning and achieving student learning goals. In each of the five lessons I have created, I have provided a video for the students to watch. The videos are used to introduce each of the five food ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. My First Life Lesson The first life lesson I had learnt from the speech of Dr Shah Rukh Khan is we should be bold in life. Life may not as easy as we think, there may be many difficulties. In order to overcome our diffculties and fears, we have to be brave when we deal with it. If we live in fear, everything will go wrong and we will not succeed. So, we should not let our fears become the obstacles that hinder our success, instead we should convert our fears and make it as our courage to step up for ourselves in order to become a better person. One of my fear is to talk or speak in front of people. There are many presentations to do for my assignments in college. I feel very nervous and sometimes I even forget what I supposed to say whenever I stand in front of my classmates. In order to overcome my fear in front of crowd, I tried to find out the source of my fear and tackle down my fear. I always be prepared before I present. Then I kept practicing in front of my friends and asking advices from my lecturer to improve my presentation skills so that I can present confidently in front of people. Although I have not overcome my fear completely, but now I can talk better in front of other people and not be as nervous as before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My personal professional development plan is directed towards helping me become a better teacher to help students learn and reach their full potential. The skills I am working on to be a better teacher include, better time management, communication, and having a stronger teacher voice. I plan to work on these goals throughout my time at York College of Pennsylvania and achieve them by the time I have completed my student teaching, which will be in three years. If I feel a goal has been achieved before I complete my student teaching, I plan to add a new goal, while still focusing on my previous goals to make them even stronger qualities. My first skill is to have better time management. As of now, I feel I do have strong time management when dealing with arriving early and planning my day out efficiently. I do have trouble with staying in the projected time frame during lessons. For example, if I have thirty minutes to teach a lesson, I may take thirty–five to forty minutes. Typically, this is due to introduction of my lesson. I believe students need to grasp the concept in the beginning of the lesson to be able to build off of the information and complete activities on their own without the help of other students or myself. Like I said, as of now, I do have fair time management skills, but they certainly need improvement. Learning And Teaching Process : My Partner Madelyn And I Upon assignment of our Skill Teach project, my partner Madelyn and I, began discussing several activities in which we could teach one another. This discussion lasted close to half an hour before we determined a motor skill that I would be able to instruct Madelyn through. The final motor skill we pin pointed was knot tying. This motor skill was something that I had experience with, and that Madelyn was unknowledgeable but interested in learning . The following information, it a brief overview of the learning and teaching process that occurred. With a wide topic like knot tying, I soon found that I needed to narrow down what specific knots I would teach Madelyn before beginning. After much debate, I concluded that the most useful knot series to teach Madelyn at this time, would be a figure eight knot. From this I was able to create the following teaching objective: The instructor will teach the student to independently tie three versions of a figure eight knot; 1) basic figure eight knot, 2) figure eight knot on a bight, and 3) figure eight follow through knot, within five lessons using a 48" length of 1/8th inch paracord. • 25. Students Should Be A Preset Learning Position Essay First, students should be in a preset learning position in which they have greater attention and openness to the explanations and instructions. After presenting the learning objective, the material available and expected products, the student participation is requested to do a review about concepts and procedures, in order to review the steps to solve equations with binomials and polynomials. At this point, it is important to consider the appropriate momentum (Saphier and Gower, 1997) to keep lesson in motion by overlapping to maximize time taking attendance while the review is done, and provisioning to get all the necessary materials to avoid breaks in the process. Students are organized into working groups (a maximum of four participants) for the purpose of activating cooperation, as well as the dialogue and discussion about solving equations. Once students are ready to start its work, the teacher presents a summary of the most important aspects to consider during the process of solving the equations, circling around the working groups, answering questions and reviewing the progress of the students. This could be more effective if the instruction is subdivided (Saphier and Gower, 1997) by socializing and requesting some answers for example, and also by asking how they got to step two or three before reaching the solution, so that the lesson is flexible and accessible for all students – according to their level of ownership – since (Darch & Crichlow, 2003) teachers can ... How can my students better understand the material ,how can I make this course more interesting and what can I do to improve my teaching skills, these are just some of the questions professors ask themselves on a daily basis. The way of teaching with textbooks has always been the traditional method, but seems to never change. The lessons are the same and students are constantly hearing the same lectures time and time again. Discussions that are not appealing quickly lose the focus of students and therefore they are not receiving the information needed to pass the course. If tablets are introduced a wide range of applications can improve the interaction between the students and professors and increase productivity in the classroom. In a study done by the USAToday.com, students attending Abilene ChristianUniversity in Texas found they can digitally highlight material and make notes, and share these notes with others in the class, all through the use of a tablet. Many of the students noticed how this helps them absorb the material because the notes and feedback are given in real time, therefore reinforcing the lesson. Many parents are skeptical if these devices help their children understand the material more, they want to know how this will help them. My coach, my teammates, my parents, all taught me this one lesson and from this, I became a better, athlete, student, and probably the most important a better person. Through this essay, I will share this lesson and how it applies to my story and hopefully, it can apply to your story as well. In 8th grade I moved here to Camas from a small town in Alaska where hockey was a lifestyle. We moved after tryouts however so I couldn't play that season. Over the summer I decided to go out for the team pretty confident that I would be the best player on the team because who ever heard of big hockey in Vancouver? That was the most I've been wrong in a long time. The first day of tryouts I could barely skate backwards due to not playing an entire season and I was completely blown out of the water by my new team. Looking back they weren't even that good to be honest but compared to me at the time they could have been NHL All–Stars. That was just the beginning of one of the biggest life lessons I would learn. My 5th practice of the season I got into a fight with one of my teammates because he came over and started yelling at me for screwing up the drill. This was an enormous shock to me for two reasons, first one is because it was my first hockey fight and second because it was an enormous transition to go from being one of the best on your old team to coming to a new one and ... • 28. The Impact Assessment For Learning Introduction Despite the amount of current research on the impact assessment for learning (AfL) strategies have had on student's achievement levels across the secondary curriculum, there has been limited attention on its effect on students within design and technology and more specifically textiles. This critical evaluation therefore reflects upon a range of AfL strategies used within a unit of work on construction techniques for a year 10 textiles class at School X. The analysis was made across 3 consecutive lessons over 3 weeks, each lesson would include a different AfL strategy or a combination of a range of different strategies. School X is a small academy comprehensive providing secondary education to mixed gender 11–16 year olds with an above average percentage of SEN students. This group consists of 17 students, all female, with a mixture of high and low attainers and 3 SEN pupils who all have mild learning difficulties (MLD) and lack of confidence within themselves and their work. At School X, they hold strong belief that AfL needs to be a part of every lesson to create independent learners. They focus on lessons driven by WALT (we are learning to) and WILFs (what I am look for) as well as rich questioning, peer– and self–assessment, amongst many other key strategies to develop learners to their full potential. Within textiles technology as well as other practical based subjects marking work can be very subjective and so it can be tricky at times to mark work in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This theorist acknowledged definite teaching techniques that help, and hinder, classroom discipline. Bestowing to Kounin, the method used, not the teacher's personality, is the most crucial aspect in classroom management of student behaviour. Wittiness is the second coined by Kounin, it defines the need for the teacher to be attentive of what is going on in all parts of the classroom at all times. Pupils need to know that the teacher is aware of what is going on in the classroom. According to him, when pupils are off–task, the teacher should send a clear message that communicates to students the awareness that they are not working and that they need to become engaged. The classroom applications of wittiness comprise; constantly being alert to the myriad of sights and sounds in the classroom, spacing out the classroom so that all students are always within eyesight, look over the room periodically when working with individuals or small groups of pupils, when helping an individual pupil, the teacher faces the rest of the class, and briefly acknowledging pupil misbehaviour at first discovery to let the pupil and the whole class know that the teacher is alert. Wittiness encompasses the use of maintaining eye contact, asking individual and group questions, continually moving around the classroom in a random fashion and specifically moving toward impending misbehaving students, thus, redirecting students to prevent misbehaviour.( Kyla Cook, ... Although this view is currently being questioned within current reports as a new set of pedagogy comes into place in some schools within mathematics entitled mastery, suggesting that differentiation is becoming obsolete in mathematics for those who follow this program, as it suggests the whole class to learn the same content at the same rate (NCETM, 2015). The first lesson highlighted is a mathematics lesson taught within a streamed class, the lesson revolved around perimeter (appendix 2). Differentiation within this lesson was a weak area, although it was attempted. The dominant use of differentiation within this lesson was through choice, as shown in the mathematics plan (appendix 2) children were given a choice of two activities. They were able to choose which activity they felt they could do. This was inspired by research stating, "If students are given choice, they challenge themselves more than teachers do" (TES, 2012) this suggests that a higher level of challenge may be created for some children who were perhaps usually given the average ability group work could now challenge themselves if they felt confident. During guided practice, as a whole group the students practiced using digraphs and learned the sounds they make using the website kidspiration.com on the Smart Board. The students were actively engaged during this activity. It was apparent they enjoyed the integration of technology within the lesson. They then participated in a digraph picture sorting activity. It was fun to see students the students working collaboratively with each other to sort the pictures. After reflecting on this portion of the lesson, I feel this is an area in need of improvement. The video I chose is from the first minutes of the first lesson including the hook and it goes into the moment that students start carrying out their own investigations through the construction and the creation of their own clay boats. Even before I asked the hook, the students were raising their hands, which is common for them to do. What I feel I should have done was asked them to put their hands down and think for three seconds about the question before they raise their hands. Something that I noticed that did work during the teaching of this lesson was manipulating the clay in front of them and acting as if I going to drop it in. With this in mind, I plan to provide and facilitate many opportunities for students to converse and collaborate together while working on projects so students can learn to appreciate different perspectives. My First Lesson About Gambling Quotation What the Text Says Style/Rhetorical Choices What the Text DOES "This was my first lesson about gambling: if you see somebody winning all the time, he isn't gambling, he's cheating. Later on in life, if I were continuously losing in any gambling situation, I would watch very closely. It's like the Negro in America seeing the white man win all the time. He's a professional gambler; he has all the cards and the odds stacked on his side, and he has always dealt to our people from the bottom of the deck" (Haley 16). Malcolm X describes an early time in his life when he lived in the "ghetto" and took part in activities that included gambling and drug dealing. He connects those experiences with nationwide issues at the time: racism, discrimination, and inequality. Growing up, Malcolm had always noticed how people of the white race had a substantial amount of advantages in life. Most things seemed to work in their favor. For those of the darker race, the amount of opportunities they had was not the same; just by their appearance and color, they had immediately been placed at the bottom of society from birth and there was no possible way to rise up. Anecdote Analogy Through the use of an anecdote, the author establishes a better connection with those who can relate from his experiences. In Stephen King's The Body, the group of young boys learn many different life lessons including family not always being trustworthy, some things should be kept to yourself, and that friends, even best friends, can split up. The main characters all have unique, yet abusive, relationships with their families. As said in the introductory paragraph, this choice made by Stephen King was incredibly important and wise to make because especially in the sixties, which is when the story takes place, it was a common occurrence that was often overlooked. One of the most evident life lessons in the story was that relatives should not get a free pass to hurt each other. The character Teddy's relationship with his father was overlooked, exclusively by Teddy himself, "Teddy's dad took Teddy over to the big woodstove at the back of the kitchen and shoved the side of Teddy's head down against one of the cast–iron burner plates". For some, they come with it on their own, for others, they require a little assistance from those they interact with. For instance, at the university, some life lessons have come to light. Through the discussion earlier in the semester, the life lessons throughout Marian Wright Edelman's Measure of Our Success have left several life lessons as a takeaway.
