But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of
silver, but also of wood and of earth;
and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

If a man thereforepurge himself from these, he shall be a vessel
unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and
prepared unto every good work.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth
that which is good;

2. 1. VIOLENCE (GEN 6:11; MICAH 6:12)
Gen 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth
was filled with violence.
Mic 6:12 For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the
inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful
in their mouth.
2. FOOD (EXOD 16:12; MATT 14:20)
Exod 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of
Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in
the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that
I am the LORD your God.
Matt 14:20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took
up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
3. SPIRIT (EXOD 28:3; LUKE 1:15-67)
Exod 28:3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted,
whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may
make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister
unto me in the priest's office.
3. Luke 1:15-17 15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord,
and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be
filled with the Holy Ghost, evenfrom his mother's womb. 16 And
many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to
turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the
disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people
prepared for the Lord.
4. WISDOM (EXOD 35:35; LUKE 2:40; 4:1)
Exod 35:35 Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work
all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman,
and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in
fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and
of those that devise cunning work.
Luke 2:40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled
with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from
Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
5. GOOD THINGS (PSA 104:28)
Ps 104:28 That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine
hand, they are filled with good.
4. 6. CONTEMPT AND SCORN (PSA 123:3-4)
Ps 123:3-4 3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon
us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. 4 Our soul is
exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and
with the contempt of the proud.
7. WICKED DEVICES (PROV 1:31)
Prov 1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way,
and be filled with their own devices.
8. MISCHIEF (PROV 12:21)
Prov 12:21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked
shall be filled with mischief.
9. OWN WAYS (PROV 14:14)
Prov 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own
ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Lam 3:15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me

14. DRINK (EZEK 23:33; HAG 1:6)
Ezek 23:33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow,

Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman
was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
46. SUBTLETY-MISCHIEF (ACTS 13:10)

candle doth give thee light.
