2. Initial Research
I carried out Research to find some of
the main Conventions and features that
were on Music Magazines.
I looked at six front cover’s, six content
pages and six double page spread’s.
I had a look at three different
magazine’s. Mojo, Classic rock and
Kerang.
4. Research was useful because by doing it, it
meant that I knew what kind of things I could
use on my Music Magazine. I could find
conventions from other Music Magazines and
then use these in my Music Magazine.
5. I was looking for anything that was
conventional. These are things that appear on
Music Magazines consistently. I will know talk
about things that I found and what I was looking
for.

18. I need to find the best distributor for my
Magazine. I need a distribution company that
already distributes similar magazine’s, that
distribute to the similar audience’s and also that
are of a similar genre.
19. BAUER
I found that Bauer are probably the best
distributor’s for my Magazine. This is because
from doing some previous research into the
distribution company they meet certain
criteria’s:
• Sell to a multinational
audience
• Operate in 16 Countries
• Publish monthly in UK
• Provide Magazines that are
suitable for Male and Female
• Publish Indie
Content (MOJO)
20. The reason why BAUER is suitable:
• I want my Music Magazine to be sold to a multinational/ International audience.
This means that a mass audience will be introduced to the Magazine. Also the
content will attract people here but also abroad.
• I want both a Male and Female audience for my Magazine. This is because my
Magazine was designed for both gender’s. Both Gender’s will have an interest
in the Content of the Magazine.
• I want my Magazine to be a monthly addition. BAUER produce Magazine’s in
Monthly editions.

While making my Music Magazine I did some
Target Market Research. This was so that my
Music Magazine was appropriate and would
actually appeal to an audience.

Survey. This means that I
can find out what it was
that is wanted from my
Magazine.
23. What I found
I found a lot of key things that my Target Audience wanted on my
Magazine:

• 15-24
• Potential of 7 Images
• Main Artist posing alone

I have learnt a lot about new Media
Technologies and these have made the
Magazine easier to make.

27. Software’s
Photoshop:
PowerPoint:
I was able to learn how to use different Software’s that would
help make my Magazine look better and more Professional. I
used Photoshop on all of my Images as well as my Barcode that I
made.
PowerPoint was used to make the Evaluation. This was good
because it helped to present the project effectively and also
professionally. It also allowed me to
To make my Presentation look consistent I
used a Master Slide to put the Magazine
name in the top corner.
28. Software’s
IN Design:
I learnt how to use Adobe IN Design. This was used to actually
design the Music Magazine itself. IN Design was useful because it
came with a lot of features which made designing of a Magazine
easier and more efficient.
Blogger:
Blogger was very useful throughout the project. This is because I
was able to use it to actually record exactly what it was I was
doing throughout the project. This meant that people would
know how I was getting on while designing the Music Magazine.
30. What I have Learnt
I have learnt a lot since designing the
Preliminary School Magazine.
By doing this Preliminary Task I
leant how to frame a shot. This
was important because a
Medium-Close up was hard to
get but I was able to capture a
good one after having so much
goes.
I was also able to learn
different Magazine Layout’s
that make the Magazine look
good.
I also learnt how to use different Media
software's for the first time.
Learn what a Music Magazine actually is.
