After successful installation of Koha, it is required to set some parameter in the administration module in order to use Koha. This configuration is a one-time job and is not fixed. The settings may vary from institute to institute as per the requirements. But some of the parameters in every module is same as these are like basic configuration. So, let’s see those common parameters. Login to Koha client–> Administration Module–> Global System Preferences

Koha Configuration – Global System Preferences
After successful installation of Koha, it is required to set some parameter in the administration
module in order to use Koha. This configuration is a one-time job and is not fixed. The se ings may
vary from institute to institute as per the requirements. But some of the parameters in every module
is same as these are like basic configuration. So, let’s see those common parameters.
Login to Koha client–> Administration Module–> Global System Preferences
Here you can see different modules listed on the left side and the provisions are listed on the right
side. Click on each module to change the provisions.
In the Acquisition preference, we need to change the add item into a new entry while cataloguing
(optional).

2. In the Administration preference, we need to change the e-mail address preferences.

In the Cataloguing preference, we need to turn off the advance MARC editor (optional).

3. In the Circulation preference, we need to change the following preferences. Some of them are
optional. You can change more preferences or may skip this one as per your need.

5. In the Enhanced Content preference, we need to turn on the Amazon cover photo showing in both
the client and OPAC end.
In the Patron preference, we need to allow to add user photo and turn off the required strong
password (optional).
In the Serial preference set the number of last issues showing in the catalogue search both for client
and OPAC end.

6. You can also configure further as per your library/ institute requirement and policies.
