converting saltwater of ocean to
normal drinking water. Desalination
plant are helpful in drought hit areas
in the earth. It’s a major source of
drinking water for countries like Israel
, Egypt, etc. These plants remove salt
content & impurities from ocean
water. There are pro’s & con’s of
desalination & wastewater treatment
plant. Below are few pro’s & con’s of
the plant.

3. PRO’s -
 These plants provide pure
drinking water in major drought
areas.
 Few parts of the world i.e
Caribbean islands , Saudi Arabia
etc. completely depends on these
plants
 These plants are even used in
even those countries where there
are sufficient quantity of fresh
water
 As there is enough water in sea
hence there Is no threat to these
plants.

4. Con’s-
 The adverse effect of desalination
plant on environment is its
byproduct , impurities which
effects the ecological balance. Its
difficult for some species to survive
in salty atmosphere.
 Since these plants use chlorine &
other chemicals for water
treatment its concentration can
harm many animals.
 Construction of these plants are
quiet expensive.
