1. HA1 Evaluation.
HA1 consisted of 3 quite large tasks. First I had to make research into what certain media terms
meant and then the second task I had to create certain images and piece them together. The
last task was another tutorial but this time using the Illustrator software instead of Photoshop
like the task before.
The first task was to produce a technical file of researched definitions of software terms such as
raster images, vector images, anti aliasing, resolution, aspect ratio, file formats, colour models
and then actual software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. We had to put all of this
information into a powerpoint and also in this powerpoint we had to list where we got all of our
sources form on a links page. After I had completed this I uploaded it to Blogger.
The second task took a lot longer in comparison to the first task as this was really the first time I
was using Photoshop so I was anxious as to whether I could actually do the work. The tasks we
had to do were things such as Having layers on Photoshop that needed piecing together and we
had to figure out where certain things went and then another task would be quite different and
we'd have to take pieces from another picture and place them onto another. All in all for task 2
there was 12 pictures we had to create/edit. I think this was the hardest task I had to do in HA1
as I wasn't really familar with the software.
Task 3, the last task of HA1 was quite similar to task 2, where we were just getting to grips with
the software Illustrator. We had a set of tasks to complete. The first task was to produce our
own company logo, we then had to create a pen portrait of somebody and so on. Throughout
this task we learnt what most of the tools on Illustrator do and learnt how to create things to a
near proffessional standards.
Over all looking back HA1 taught me how to use software I hadn't used before and now I feel
more confident when I have to use the programmes and I know what I'm doing. I think the tasks
could of been done a lot quicker than they actually were if I had concentrated more.
