Question6
1. Question6
What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product
what have you learnt about technologies?
2. To answer this question I am going to show the key steps when creating my front
cover page going over the key tools I used the most and the main editing involved. I
used two programmes which were Adobe Photoshop and Adobe In Design.
what have you learnt about technologies?
3. The first thing I did was edit the image to make it brighter and eye catching. By doing this it makes
my magazine more professional. I used Photoshop to do this. I did this by clicking on image, then
adjustments and brightness and contrast.

4. After I did this I experiment with different fonts on
Photoshop. Once I found one I liked I edited it by adding
stroke, colours, and changing the size etc… For the title of
my magazine I applied many effects which is shown below.

5. I used many different tools to construct my magazine one of which is called the crop tool. This
enabled me to get rid of any unwanted parts of my image. Once I had done this I could resize and
position it without losing any quality of the image. I also the free transform tool to change the size
of my image without distorting it.

6. Other key things I did when creating my front cover was positioning every to my liking and
keeping the layout as professional as I could. I used the rules of thirds when deciding where to
place things and I often had to use the resize tool and move tool to do this.
Rule of thirds.

7. I used the colour tool to pick the perfect colour I wanted to use.
Photoshop has a range of different colours I could choose from which was
a good thing when creating my front cover. I did this by clicking on this
tool.
what have you learnt about technologies?
8. I have learnt a lot about Adobe InDesign. For my induction magazine I did not make a double
page spread so I didn’t use InDesign at all. Therefore I feel like I have learnt the most from this
programme. It’s was fairly difficult to use at the beginning but I got use to it. I learnt many
new things such as drop caps, and organising text into columns. I also imported images and
text from Photoshop into this programme. My whole double page spread was created by this
and my front cover and contents was made on Photoshop.

9. To conclude before the production of my magazine I was fairly familiar on how to use
Adobe Photoshop as I have used in before and in the induction task. I did learn things
during the time making my front cover and contents page. Things such as shortcuts on
the key board to do things such as free transform allowed me to work productivity
and quicker. I have learnt many new effects which I didn’t know before and I learnt
how to organise layers. However I feel I have learnt the most from Adobe In Design as
I was new to it. While making my double page spread I found out some aspects of it
was similar to Adobe Photoshop but I also learnt many new things such as making the
correct dimensions when making my page, inserting text and images which was
different to Photoshop. I also learnt how to add drop caps, columns, edit images and
texts.
