1. Evaluating the ideas 2
Suitable for audience?
The idea is suitable for the audience as the ‘space’ theme itself links to the target audience,
as it is usually associated with a young audience, as instead of an older one. The cartoon-like
premise of the theme is effective and will be liked by the audience because of it.
Suitable for client?
This idea is suitable for the client, as it meets the needs required by them and also presents
healthy recipes which are suitable for vegetarians and some for vegans too. The idea is
inventive and will appeal to both the audience and the client.
Appeal of the design
The design would be suitable for the target audience because it will include cartoon images
which are targeted towards children, such as an ‘alien’ or ‘rocket’ which will link to the
theme as well as impressing the audience.
Length of time to produce
Since the cards are going to be laminated, they will have to be sent off to another company,
which means that it could take a few weeks for the cards to come back, so the time scale
could depend really.
Costs of any specialist production methods
The laminating of the cards will cost, also another cost to consider is the DSLR (if you intend
to buy one to take the images).
Practical to produce in large print runs?
Yes, but you will need to do a few test prints to check if the cards look up to a professional
standard, then you can print them off in large quantities.
Available resources
Camera, Photoshop, computer, printer and scanner.
Quality issues
The quality of the print is important, so a few test prints will have to be done, so that you
can determine what the overall quality of the recipe cards will be.
Legal and ethical issues
The Health and Safety Act may have to be included when doing the recipe cards and you
would have to consider any ethical issues such as whether the audience will approve of the
recipes on the cards.
