1. Evaluating the ideas – 2
Suitable for audience?
I think this theme is suitable for the stated target audience, as it has a tropical edge
to it, which may appeal to this target market, as they may be attracted by a cuisine,
which differs from their own, and be more adventurous, as opposed to an older
audience, who would want to stick to a primarily British recipe list.
Suitable for client?
I would say that this particular set of recipe cards is highly suitable for the client, as
it is strictly vegetarian, and has a healthy variety of recipes, that can be consumed by
either a vegan or vegetarian. It features recipes that are diverse, which will attract
the audience.
Appeal of the design
The use of die-cutting will make the recipe cards look more professional, and will
initially make them more appealing to the specific target audience, who will take into
account the visual aspect of the recipe card, as opposed to the text featured on the
card itself.
Length of time to produce
In order for the die-cutting to be finalised, it would have to be sent off to an
individual company, who would then complete the job, then send the stated work
back. However, this may take an extended period of time, which cannot be
measured.
Costs of any specialist production methods
The die-cutting process will not be cheap, as it will have to be sent to an individual
company, who then perform the task, and will send it back. Although, this would
come at a cost, and would have to be considered.
Practical to produce in large print runs?
This would be practical to print in large runs, as it would need to be distributed to
thousands of people, therefore, it would need to be printed in large amounts for it to
be distributed in an efficient manner.
Available resources
Photoshop (editing pictures), computing devices, writing equipment, as well as
paper.
Quality issues
The prints could turn out differently, due to the fact that thousands of copies of the
recipe cards will be printed, so the ink is likely to run thin, which will alter the final
outcome of the cards.
Legal and ethical issues
Review the Health and Safety Acts when completing the project in full.
