Evaluation
Before startingthe actual productionof the campaignadvert,mygroup and I discussedwhatwill be our
mainaimsand whoare the target audience thatwe wouldbe reachingoutto.We have decidedthat
our primaryaudience willbe peoplewhocannotspeakEnglishandoursecondarytargetaudience would
be youngpeople.We believethatpeople whodoesn'tspeakEnglishare atriskto be influencedand
pressuredbyinterpreterswhile votingforthe governmentparty.Asthisissue mightaffect51% of UK's
population,mygrouphave astrong feelingthatourcampaignwill cause a bigattention.
We have discussedandassessedouradvertlayoutideas,andcame to the conclusionthatwe wantto
stressthat non-Englishspeakersare confusedandmisunderstandthe whole votingsystemoverall ,as
theyare not100% assuredthat theyare receivingandunderstandingthe detailsof votingsystemand
the party theyare more likelytovote for.Ourgrouphave came up withan ideathatby showinga
personholdingtoitsheadphoneslookingconfusedwouldbe aperfectimage we are tryingtoportray.
To emphasise the issue of confusionandmisunderstanding,we alsothoughtthatbyputtinga wordthat
says‘election’indifferentlanguages,wouldstressthe ideaof non-Englishspeakersbeingconfusedand
mostlikelyinfluencedwhenitcomestoelectionsandvoting. We decidedtogetto the target audience
ina waythat will make themfeel welcomedandinaway whichthe targetaudience will feel like the
campaignisreachingout to themwithan offerof help,that’swhywe have laidoutthe foreignwordsin
the most spokenlanguagesinthe UK.
The word layoutthathave beencreatedina wavy style,have beendone onpurpose toshow English
speakersof hownon-Englishspeakersfelt whilereceivinginformationinEnglishwhichhave createda
‘tangle of words’ that theysimplydon’tunderstand,whichmakesthemaneasyand vulnerabletarget
for influence.Byusingforeignwords,we have createdacounterforourselves,whichwasa signature of
our campaignand purpose,thatcouldbe easilyidentifiedbythe audience.
The backgroundthat have beenusedwasplainwhite,whichhave contrastedwithwiththe blackwriting
and the picture of a womanwithheadphones.The headphoneswires andthe VoteBoosterlogowere
bothred to make the relationwiththe logoandthe overall purpose of the advert.
My weaknessesonproducingthisproductwere the factthatI haven’tusedanIllustratorbefore ,which
delayedthe picture shootingasI have usedmostof the time to make sure that the writingwhere inhigh
qualitythatwill notbe ruinedbyprintingitoutin a huge formate.g.billboard.There wasa hustle as it
was reallyimportanttosave andexportthe editedwritingasPNGfile individuallywhichtookalotof my
time.Andlastlyplacingthemintothe Photoshopandlayingitouttodesiredway.Ihave learnedalot
fromthe above weaknesseswhichwillaffectmyfuture workinapositive outcome.Mystrengthswere
takingthe picture of my artist,editingtodesiredwayandplacingeverythingtogetheronthe Photoshop,
whichafterwardswassavedasa JPEG and were readytopring.
