I Am A Part Of This Program
If given the opportunity to be a part of this program, I will take full advantage of the resources
provided by the program in order to better prepare myself for the future ahead of me. I will inquire
my Heart 2 Heart Mentor how to prepare for the GRE, how to become a competitive applicant, and
how to be a successful student in professional school, particularly at DMU. In addition, I will
develop a rapport with my Admissions Advisor, who I hope will guide me all the way to physical
therapy school matriculation. In addition, I aim to create lifelong relationships with the other nine
students in the program, expanding my network with connections from around the country.
The program appears enriching and eventful, and I am most excited about the hands–on component,
especially the anatomy and the Human Performance labs. I have taken anatomy only in high school,
and it fascinated me with its complexity of the human body. The deeper I ventured into the subject,
the more lost I was in its immensity. Being able to work with a cadaver at DMU would be a surreal,
captivating experience. Regarding the Human Performance Lab, being able to diagnose and treat
patients through motion analysis sounds like a unique, non–invasive treatment plan which I believe
could revolutionize modern medicine.
One particular subject I wish to discuss is current healthcare topics. Particularly, I want to be
educated about US healthcare disparities, the root of these disparities, and what I can do as a

Strategic Planning Process Analysis Paper
The Hypothetical Schedule: Prospective Florida Attorney (continued) Advancing to the final stage
of the strategic planning model, illustrated in Figure 3.1, evolves from conceptual to reality as our
prospect assembles a schedule from all of their prerequisite research applied heretofore. As a result,
a logically simplified process produces a single execution model for each phase of the plan. The
need for an effective, simplified method to organize all activities, dates, and critical deadlines in an
easily maintained process rivals the requirement to retain consistency throughout this particular
project life–cycle. While numerous methods exist to construct such schedules, our prospect chooses
to utilize a spreadsheet for its simplicity in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Understand that the explosive growth of information commonly experienced when bringing
concepts and ideas forward tend to surface, sometimes surprisingly, when constructing a detailed
schedule. A point often overlooked when developing plans relate to consideration of their tangible
manageability during implementation. Hofstadter's Law describes an abyss entered by myriads of
projects and tasks evidenced by consuming resources far beyond reasonable projections. And while
not building the Nautilus, a significant amount of dates and activities fashion themselves around
critical components of the process. With multiple universities to track, our prospect will note the
schedule grows substantially as additional sets of dates, deadlines or other requirements add to the
mix. Consolidating date instances by normalizing earliest occurrences in phase I and II should
alleviate some unwieldiness of managing that information. However, with the obvious exception of
academic requirements, potential minefields lay in wait for missing any dates on that schedule and
illustrate the main reason for its existence in the first

Cezar E. Mcknight's Speech Summary
I attended the Constitution Day assembly on September 15, 2016. I receive a large amount of
information from Cezar E. McKnight's lecture. Honestly, I ignorant to several laws before I heard
Mr. McKnight's speech. This assembly was very informative and it is one of the most relevant
assemblies I have experience since my matriculation at Claflin. The beginning of McKnight's speech
was shaky, due to the fact that I could not hear his words clears. However, he quickly adjusted the
volume problem and he addressed some errors on the program. Towards the middle of his speech,
McKnight gave his stance on the police brutality and other social injustices that occur in America.
McKnight also discussed his personal experience with law enforcement and

SES Mission Statement
Organization and Administration Final Exam: Question 2
According to researchers, the experiences of students in higher education have been examined
through a variety of lenses. These include race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Low
socioeconomic status (SES) students are outside the mainstream and arguably equally disadvantaged
in higher education. SES, however, has received little attention in comparison to the aforementioned
special interest groups (Walpole, 2003). Scholars who have worked to address this gap in the
literature, found low SES and high SES students exhibit different behaviors in college choice,
matriculation, persistence, and post–secondary enrollment (Walpole, 2003; John and Paulsen, 2002).
These variances demonstrate that students with greater financial concerns are more at risk in terms
of access to and success in college. This essay will address the impact of SES on college access and
success. In addition, this essay will analyze the mission statement of The University of Texas at
Austin (UT Austin) for connections to issues of SES in college access and/or success. ... Show more

This, along with pressures from policymakers, led to practices that emphasized SES as a measure of
academic success that negatively impacted the matriculation of underrepresented students. These
practices rewarded higher SES students and penalized lower SES, resulting in misaligned financial
packages that impacted their access to the institution and ability persist. Aligning of institutional
scholarship to inform institutional policy is one example that would better represent the university's
mission of advancing society through research, creative activity, and scholarly inquiry. When
combined with its pledge to public service, the institution has a greater ability to frame its work and
positively impact issues of access and success for low SES

Why I Want To Pursue My Early Childhood Education
I am a student at the Illustrious Clark Atlanta University. In the fall, I will begin the second year of
my matriculation at this institution. I am an Early Childhood Education major and Spanish minor.
My educational aspirations begin by acquiring my bachelor degree. Furthermore, I will continue my
education to obtain a master degree in business. I am also very assertive that I will accomplish my
long–term educational goal of obtaining my doctoral degree in foreign policy. My vision is to begin
my journey by being an educator to the underserved population. By teaching directly after college it
will not only allow me to gain experience, but also gain knowledge, support, and mold me into a
great 21st century educator. While I educate our youth, I will simultaneously be working to earn my
master degree. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will establish a non–profit organization that will create opportunities (internships, jobs,
networking) for the underserved population. Since I take pride in being bilingual I am motivated to
complete my education by graduating with a doctoral degree in foreign policy. This degree will
allow me to complete my ultimate goal of making my non–profit organization into a charter school.
My charter school will provide both a Spanish and English curriculum to create diversity and
opportunity for grades K–12. I understand the importance of hard work, motivation, and GRIT.
Therefore, I am committed and will constantly fight to succeed. As my favorite quote says "You
should want to succeed as bad as you want to breath." I remain grateful to find opportunities and
foundations that provide support to students to receive an education. I am hopeful to be a recipient
of The Mays Family Scholarship Fund, and achieve my goal of being an 21st century

The Education Framework Of Nigeria
Presentation
Education is said to be act or procedure of bestowing or securing general learning, building up the
forces of thinking and judgment, and by and large of setting oneself up or others mentally for
experienced life. The Ministry of Education is responsible for education in Nigeria. The education
framework in Nigeria is separated into Kindergarten, essential training, auxiliary training and
tertiary training.
Foundation Problem
The present example of Nigeria Education framework, especially the Tertiary Institutions has been
an issue of sensitivity toward the administration, accomplices, educationists, managers (home and
abroad), graduates and diverse establishments. This paper took a gander at the present pattern of
tertiary education as far as educational modules, instructors, students, funding, facilities, industrial
collaborations and additionally showing techniques with the point of view of proposing the way
ahead.
Writing Review
Nigeria is as often as possible implied as the "Giant of Africa", inferable from its inconceivable
people and economy. With around 184 million occupants, Nigeria is the most jammed country in
Africa and the seventh most swarmed country on the planet. Nigeria has one of the greatest masses
of youth on the planet.
Starting 2015, Nigeria was named the world 's twentieth greatest economy, worth more than $500

Master Of Science Degree Programs
Master of Science Degree Programs
This entry gives a general overview of online Master of Science programs, then specifically
examines programs in high demand and those offered in accelerated formats. Next, the entry focuses
on information students need to succeed in M.S. programs: how to find the right program, and a
major problem that they will likely face during online matriculation.
A Master of Science degree (in Latin, Magister Scientaie) is a postgraduate academic Master's
Degree awarded by universities worldwide. In abbreviated form, the degree may appear on
academic transcripts variously as MSc., M.Sc., M.Sci., M.Si., Sc.M., M.S., MS, AM or SM. After

The latter option is most common. It involves writing and defending a thesis or completing a
research project which represents the culmination of the material learned.
Admission to a Master 's program is normally contingent upon holding a bachelor's degree. Should
the student desire to graduate from a doctoral program, Master's level training is a prerequisite. In
some fields or graduate programs, work on a doctorate can begin as soon as the bachelor's degree is
finished. Some programs offer a joint Bachelor 's and Master 's degree after four to five years of
study. At the completion of these programs both a B.A. and an M.S. can be awarded.
For thesis projects, students will typically work with an academic adviser to propose a topic, write a
research prospectus and draft a final paper describing the research results. The research process
takes about one year. The thesis is then reviewed by the student's academic committee who must
approve the paper before the student can proceed to graduation. If revisions are needed, graduation
could be delayed for one or more semesters.
Many graduate schools have residency requirements to complete a degree. A student may be
required to spend at least one year living on campus and must accumulate a minimum number of
course credits to be considered eligible for his degree. As online graduate education advanced, this
residency requirement has been adjusted. Matriculation online may

Denver Law Case Study Essay
The implementation of EA at Denver Law offered an opportunity to bring students into the
discussion. While the EA program was being developed and rolled out at Denver Law, we designed
a survey–based study to explore the impact of this program on enrollment and student educational
experience. The study was designed around a series of Denver Law student surveys. Here, we report
on the findings of five surveys: three entering classes (2013–14, 2014–15, and 2015–16) and two
graduating classes (2015–16 and 2016–17). Table 1 outlines the logic.

Poor Matriculation Results in South Africa
Poor educational standards and Matriculation results in South Africa– A Case Study
Introduction
Poor educational standard is an issue which has been discussing globally. Matriculation is an
important stage in the educational life of a student. The reason being it is a turning point or point of
departure to different destinations. So utmost guidance and care must be given to students who are
on that stage to get the desired outcome. Here the researcher is trying to analyse the various reasons
behind the poor performance of learners. The researcher has decided to limit the study to South
African matric examination. So the problem is what are the factors contributing to poor educational
standards and matriculation results in South Africa? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is crystal clear that there are disparities in the quality of education that township and former model
C schools receive. Many well–off pupils attend former Model C schools, which are still well–
resourced. Conversely, the majority of poor pupils attend poorly–resourced township and rural
schools, which are not capable of providing education to a satisfactory standard. The Sunday Times
released a survey in late 2009 revealing the Top 100 schools in the country. More than 90 of these
were former Model C schools. It is likely that South Africa's former Model C schools are
responsible for the majority of the country's university entrants. The Minister of Basic Education,
Angie Motshekga, was correct in her statement.
Process
Based on the factors discussed above, there are numerous factors contributing to the poor
educational standards and matriculation results. Some drastic actions are needed to eliminate or
reduce the effect of these negativities. So, the recent review of the New Curriculum Statement
(NCS) suggested that some early steps that should be taken. * The report highlighted textbooks as a
major contributory factor and called for the simplification of procurement and distribution policies,
currently different in each province. * They also urged English to be taught as an additional
language from Grade 1 (as current policy states) rather than Grade 3 (as seems to be common

What Is Matric Rage Essay
LO Task– Part A: Research and presentation 1. Matric rage provides teenagers with a time to relax

to great music by some of SA's biggest artists whilst spending time with their friends. However,
parents have the idea that matric rage entails drug and alcohol abuse, unprotected sex and complete
lack of self–control. 2. A rite of passage is associated with a ceremonial procedure that marks some

privacy and if a picture is taken of you that portrays you in a negative light and then posted on

Why Service Learning By Bruce W. Speck
In the assigned article entitled "Why Service Learning" by Bruce W. Speck, it provides great insight
as to why we need to engage in service learning. This article focused on the questions that were like
the reasoning behind service learning and how does it benefit the student. One definition in the
article that stood out to me was service learning being defined as a pedagogy that fosters the
development of skills and knowledge needed for participation in public life. This was prevalent
because it allows the student to network with others outside of the community while giving back.
Service learning was created to get away from the traditional way of learning while implementing a
new learning system.

Amory's Matriculation To Princeton Essay
Amory interiorizes the conformity that Moretti describes on survival upon matriculation to
Princeton. His life becomes a fraud as his daily interactions grow predicated upon what Moretti
refers to as the curbing of "intrinsically boundless dynamism" (6). In essence, Amory restrains his
role as a dynamic character in his pursuit of mastery of social structure and popularity. This
obsession is alluded to and eventually cemented in his first year at Princeton. Walking into
Princeton, he concedes his fascination as he "watched each rank of linked arms" pass by with
"voices blent" (45). His admiration of the football team's pack mentality and high position on
campus provides insight into his willingness to compromise his character as well as into his
overconcentration with trivialities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Right as the character attains a realistic world view, Moretti proposes that the protagonist is forced
to face a major decision: Should he abandon his values for conformity or continue to pursue his
personal goals in the face of failure? Such a double bind implies Moretti's belief that a
bildungsroman presents two undesirable situations for a character and he or she must choose
between the lesser of two evils: self–betrayal or failure. Moretti describes that bildungsroman
characters grow "far less ambitious than synthesis" (Moretti 10). Likewise, Amory realizes the
difficulty of remaining unique and grows "decidedly unheroic," using inaction as a "tool for
survival" (Moretti 10). Admittedly, Amory reaches an ingenuine but high social position on campus,
thus embodying his active pursuit of conformity. Through his entrance into elite clubs, Amory
capitulates to conformity and eventually solidifies his decision to become "one of the gods of his
class"

Readiness And Enrichment Program Reflection Paper

educational programs, an assortment of service opportunities, and devotion to biomedical research.
As the first member of my immediate family to try to earn a higher education degree, the Pre–

preparing for it. The transition to medical school will be challenging initially, but this program's
commitment to providing early exposure to its curriculum and acclimating its students to the

When A Crisis Happens Or The Circumstances Change
When a Crisis Happens or Your Circumstances Change Sometimes "life happens" and you're
carefully laid plans for taking courses or writing your dissertation goes astray. You may find
yourself unexpectedly pregnant, your partner might get a dream job and want you to move to
another city, or you might face a financial downturn, family crisis, or major health problem of your
own. If an unforeseen event gets in the way of studies that you want to continue, don't simply give
up your plans. Talk to your supervisor, graduate program director, and/or TA or student union
representative to find out your options. They probably have lots of experience with students in
similar situations, and most will be happy to advocate on your behalf. Occasionally, even the most
carefully chosen path needs to be revised. Old interests wane, circumstances irrevocably alter, or
you find your program unsuitable or unbearable. If this occurs, consult with relevant faculty,
graduate students and academic advisors about the possible ramifications of changing fields,
programs, or institutions. Will your progress be delayed, and if so, by how much and in what way?
Through serious consideration, you can decide whether the extra burdens associated with a major
shift are worth enduring. Do not, however, confuse discouragement for failure or incompatibility
with the historical profession. If you have feelings of inadequacy and self–doubt, or if you feel like
an "imposter" just waiting to be "found out" and kicked

Stress Factors
Stress can be defined as the feeling felt in time of difficulty, fear and when facing challenging
situations. Stress is a feeling in which a person feels like they cannot cope with a certain situation.
Stress comes in many forms and may be physical, psychological or emotional. Factors that cause
stress are known as stressors.
Events that occur in a person's life may cause feelings of stress, which may consist of:
Large changes
Overwhelming responsibility
Lack of change in one's life
Facing overwhelming pressure.
Stress may not only be caused by a single event but it may be caused by an accumulation of more
minor challenges which makes it more difficult to pin point what is actually causing a person stress.
As a learner a clear example of a stressor would be your Grade 12 year and the demands it places on
you.

Relax
Listen to music and practise some meditation to calm yourself and release tension that has been
built–up in the body. This will help to better control stress and help find peace with yourself.
In matric there is a lot of work load and thus a student is stressed. In order for you to limit this stress
one should ensure they make or compile a planner in which they allocate days to do a certain piece
of work. If I am too lazy to make a planner I will have to do work such as projects days in advance
instead of leaving them to the last minute which will minimise stress and maximise time.
Also give yourself time to unwind whether it's hanging out with family or playing some sports.
Activities will help alleviate stress of matric and will also give the mind time to relax. By doing
other activities other than stressful matric work stress levels are given a chance to decrease and thus
one will have a more relaxed and calm approach when doing the stressful things.

The ceremony was a decent, but there were a few flaws in the program. In addition to the mistakes
that I witnessed, a large majority of the audience did not receive all of the information well. The
introduction of the ceremony was mediocre due to the fact that the ROTC Color Guard did not post

expect the presentation to be sloppy. As a freshman in college, a person would expect an excellent

The Importance Of Commitment In College
A student's decision to attend college is a personal choice that comes with personal recognition of
their responsibility. Whether the student attends a two or four –year college this choice requires
commitment. Commitment begins with the acceptance of personal responsibility for one's actions,
determination, and hard work. Gordon states in his article that "choosing a college is a daunting task
for the graduating high school student. And considering that choices made in college shape the
trajectory of the rest of your life, its significance can't be underestimated" (Gordon Govier, 2010)
College attendance is not a requirement but a gateway to a successful career if one is responsible
enough to attend and complete course work to earn a degree. I feel as though being a college student
is very time consuming, and I have never been so over whelmed with work in my life. There are a
lot of things that you must put into view before you decide to come to any college. Everything
should be sent to your school and done in a timely matter for when you get to the school of your
choice you will not be lost. To be a full–time college student you must put into perspective what
type of schedule you want to have and how much free time you have so you can learn to use your
free time in a timely matter. When doing your work do you think that it's the professor's
responsibility to stay on you to do your work, or do you think that responsibility should be placed

Spelman Speech
It's official, you're a spelmanite. You've received that Spelman blue envelope and you've attended
Spelbound. You've taken a horrid ID photo that will follow you through your matriculation at
Spelman. You've heard the word "matriculation" at least 50 times since you got on campus. Last, but
not least you've added #Spelman to your twitter and Instagram bios so that all of your followers
know that you have made that choice to change the world. Basically, you think you're ready to begin
your journey as a Spelman Woman. Well, my dear baby spelman sister I am so happy that you are
starting your journey, but I want to give you some tips to make these four years some of the best
four years of your life.
Do open yourself up to the Spelman sisterhood. When you get to Spelman, you will have this belief
that every girl you meet will be your sister. Through the lens of administration, these are your
sisters, but let's be real. Every girl you meet isn't your friend and has no desire to become your
friend. All of this may bring you down, but don't let it. The great thing about Spelman is that you
will find that sisterhood somewhere. Whether it be a club, dorm hall, or even a classroom. The
sisterhood will come to you, just allow it to come to you. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They want to be known and become popular, so they say things they may not actually mean. Also,

Factors That Influence The Matriculation Into Graduate...
America is more racially and ethnically diverse than ever before. Today, more than half of all
newborns are of color and some demographers predict that more than half all youth under the age of
18 will be of color before the end of this decade (Frey, 2011). According to the U.S. Census Bureau,
by 2050, America will be a country without any clear racial or ethnic majority. Yet, our institutions
of higher education do not reflect this rising demographic tide. America's global leadership depends
on gaining a competitive edge in an ever–expanding, diverse world economy that depends on the
expertise of professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematic (STEM) fields. Yet

college–age population (2010). Together these three groups earned only 12% of the doctoral degrees
awarded in 2012 (National Science Foundation, 2012). However, according to the U.S. Department
of Education, URM students are just as likely to enroll in STEM studies as White and Asian students
when they initially begin their undergraduate education, yet they are more likely to switch to non–
science majors (2012).
Background Variables
Literature indicates background variables can be attributed to the racial and ethnic disparities in
education. Background, or sometimes referred to as defining variables, refer to those factors that
occur prior to students' enrollment in post–secondary education that are expected to affect their
academic outcomes (Wood & Williams, 2013). Students bring these variables with them upon entry
into post–secondary education. Background variables for minority students that may affect their
matriculation into STEM PhD programs include academic disadvantages and lower, socio–
economic circumstances
Academic Disadvantages
One of the main barriers to college attainment is the alarmingly high, high school dropout rate
among minority students; only 56 percent of Blacks and 54 percent of Hispanics graduate from high
school (Green, 2002). Many of those that do graduate arrive to college academically underprepared.
National studies have found the academic intensity of one's high school curriculum to be one of the
most important pre–collegiate factors

College Education Gap Analysis
Since the beginning of American history, there has always been a gap in achievement between the
Black and minority community versus their counterparts, the Whites. The difference between the
two groups was that of opportunities. Minorities in the United States were initially deprived of all
chances at prosperity, and Whites were born into a societal prosperity; an idea that Beverly Tatum
calls "White Privilege." While it is important to acknowledge that the educational gap between
African–American and White students has diminished in regards to college enrollment, it is
important to evaluate the differences between what affects certain races in attendance and
completion of college. The factors that will be considered are family dynamics, finances, ... Show

Obviously, a low socioeconomic status is more closely tied to that of a minority. In Susan Dynarski's
experiment, the findings indicate that low socioeconomic African American students have less
contact with faculty, study less, are less involved with student organizations, work more, and have
lower grades than do their high SES peers or all African American students. Does a student's
socioeconomic status correlate with the relationships they share with their professors and peers with
higher socioeconomic statuses? "Furthermore, 9 years after entering college, low SES students
report lower incomes, lower rates of degree attainment and lower aspirations than their high SES
peers, and were less likely to have attended graduate school. Logistic Regression results indicate
that sex, college GPA" (Walpole 1). From my experience, students who've graduated from my
(majority black) high school who had a low socioeconomic status expressed feelings of "disconnect"
from the students in their chosen institution, especially if it was a predominately white institution
(PWI); they've felt as though they could not relate to the people around them. This factor could
contribute to a feeling of not belonging, which proves to be very strong in a student's decision to

Cosmetic Chemistry Personal Statement
When people fall in love with people, I fall in love with cosmetic. My desire to learn more about
cosmetic began when I found out there are many makeup products contain animal ingredients or its
by–product. From there, I started to do more research and studies on the components in a cosmetic
product. As a Muslim who is a makeup enthusiast, it is uncommonly important for me to wear
makeup that is free of animal and alcohol content. At that point, I thought to myself, what if I create
my own halal cosmetic line. I have always loved the idea of creating something by myself and it
gives me a huge sense of gratification upon actually completing it. Also, the opportunity to be
involved in something which makes a difference to the world is something I greatly desire. I believe
there's no other way to feel these achievements than when I am a cosmetic chemist. The course I
have chosen will able to give me the pathway to realise my ambition as a cosmetic chemist. My
main aspiration is to create my own halal cosmetic brand which is animal–free and vegan–friendly. I
do not have a favourite subject because I enjoy learning from a various educational field. However, I
do find myself more enthusiast and spending more time focusing on Chemistry compared to other
subjects I have learnt. The main reason this subject sparks an interest in me is ... Show more content

The United States' Deteriorating Education System Essay
Despite recent attempts to reform, there is no question that the United States' education system is
falling behind the education systems of other developed nations. The Programme for International
Student Assessment, also known as PISA, is an international organization which measures
performance of high school students throughout the world (United States, Highlights from PISA iii),
and the results of its most recent series of examinations have shown that high school students in the
United States are desperately trailing behind their peers in the rest of the developed world (United
States, Highlights from PISA 12). Recent initiatives such as the No Child Left Behind Act have
attempted to improve the state of our deteriorating education ... Show more content on

Finland, for example, requires a grueling matriculation exam in order to pass high school, composed
of one native language test and three other tests chosen by the test taker, in a broad range of subjects
such as physics, philosophy, history, foreign languages and mathematics exams of varying difficulty
(Finland). Results from the matriculation exams determine the student's prospects for postsecondary
education, which is free for Finnish citizens (Gamerman). One consequence of Finland's intense
matriculation exams is that students arrive at universities fully prepared for their studies, and
students who do not wish to continue on into college have sufficient preparation for a career. Japan,
on the other hand, has an entirely different method of encouraging its students to perform well in
school. Rather than a comprehensive high school exit exam, Japanese universities each have their
own uniquely arduous entrance exams, (Okano and Tsuchiya 114). The exams are highly
competitive, so there is great pressure on the student to perform well in order to get into the
university of the student's choosing. High schools in Japan help to prepare students for university
entrance exams, and juku, or "cram schools" are another popular method of preparing for the exams
(Okano and Tsuchiya 60). By putting a great deal of responsibility on the student, the Japanese
system encourages students to achieve on their own by preparing for entrance

Student Success And Support Services Program Essay
Research/Policy Topic Analysis: Student Success and Support Services Program (SSSP)
Background
The Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) for California community colleges arose as a
result of the Senate Bill 1456 with a mission "to increase California community college student
access and success by providing effective core matriculation services, including orientation,
assessment and placement, counseling, and other educational planning services, and academic
interventions," or follow–up services for at–risk students (Graillat, Lawrence, Quiaoit & Mohr,
2016, p. 4). While this Senate Bill established the SSSP, there were other acts and bills that came
before that eventually paved the way for the Student Success and Support Program.
The Seymour–Campbell Matriculation Act of 1986 created the matriculation process for continuing
and incoming students taking courses for credit. The idea was that there should be an equal
educational opportunity across California and that this would be accomplished through having the
same educational services across campuses that would help students reach their educational goals
(Graillat et al., 2016). Furthermore, in 1990, the Board of Governors (BOG) specified what the
regulations would be for implementing the matriculation process (Graillat et al., 2016). In 1997 and
1998, Assembly Bill (AB) 1542 and AB 107 were passed. These bills extended these services to
students taking noncredit courses (Graillat et al., 2016). While the goal of

The Goal Of Trio Student Support Services At Pulaski...
On January 12, 1965, during his education message to Congress, President Lyndon B. Johnson
conveyed that in order to strengthen our country, we needed to provide more higher education
opportunities for lower and middle income families, and on November 8, 1965, the Higher
Education Act became law.
The first three programs established under the new Higher Education Act were, Upward Bound,
Talent Search, and Student support services. Together this "Trio" of federally funded programs
encouraged access to higher education for low income students. Currently, there are eight programs
administered under the Higher Education Act that target to serve and assist low income individuals,
first–generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic
pipeline from middle school to post baccalaureate programs.
The purpose of this Evaluation is to justify the necessity and validity of the Trio Student Support
Services at Pulaski Technical College and the impact it has upon the community.
The goal of TRIO Student Support Services is to help participants have a successful college
experience and achieve their academic and personal goals. The program serves 180 Pulaski Tech
students who qualify for services. Students must be first–generation college students (neither parent
has a baccalaureate degree), meet income requirements based on family size and/or have a
documented disability. The Identification/recruitment process for the TRIO Student

A Report On Nigerian Training Framework
Presentation
Training is said to be act or procedure of bestowing or securing general learning, building up the
forces of thinking and judgment, and by and large of setting oneself up or others mentally for
experienced life. The Ministry of Education is responsible for instruction in Nigeria. The instruction
framework in Nigeria is separated into Kindergarten, essential training, auxiliary training and
tertiary training.
Foundation Problem
The present example of Nigeria training framework, especially the tertiary association has been an
issue of sensitivity toward the administration, accomplices, educationists, managers (home and
abroad), graduates and diverse foundations. This paper looked present example of tertiary training

Experiment 3: Characterization of nonsense mutation in E. coli
A. Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether a point mutation on the lac– strain,
CSH61, from the previous experiment is suppressed by amber suppressors, SuI, SuII, and SuIII. If
the point mutation on the lac– strain was a nonsense mutation, a second mutation on the tRNA for
that codon would be able to restore function of the lac gene by inserting an appropriate amino acid
at the stop codon instead of terminating protein production. Therefore, the CSH61 cells could grow
on lactose. If the point mutation was missense, no growth would be able to occur as the lac gene
would not have its function restored.
This experiment was carried out by mating Hfr lac– mutants (CSH61) to three F– strains (CSH54,
CSH55, and CSH56) with deletions in the lac–pro region, each with a different suppressor and a
type of antibiotic resistance. Mating would allow for transfer of the lac–pro region from the Hfr ...

The presence of colonies on all of these plates indicated that conjugation was successful and the F–
strains received lac–/pro+ as they were able to grow on antibiotic minimal media plates. However,
none of the exconjugants were able to grow on minimal media plates with lactose and grew as white
colonies on MacConkey's agar, indicating that they were still lac–. This result indicated that the
point mutation in the CSH61 mutant strain was unable to be reverted by supD, sup E, or supF. This
meant that neither serine, glutamine, nor serine were appropriate amino acid replacements to restore
function. Had they been sufficient to suppress the point mutation, growth on the min+lac plates and
pink colonies on MacConkey's agar would be expected like the lac+ control colony

Low Stakes Decision Making Paper
It is becoming general that policy–makers use subtle interventions as triggers of decision–making
from the perspective of psychological and social forces. They seek the effective tools for the

having impacts persistently. It is already identified that the effect of social information on low–

workforce. The National Matriculation Exam has existed for roughly 160 years receiving very
minimal changes throughout that time. One can note a major difference between Finnish and
American standardized testing first and foremost with knowing that American tests are newer and
undergo changes almost constantly. The Finnish exam is created by well–qualified teachers meaning
that lawmakers have almost no power over the test (Strauss 1 of 3). The required areas tested within

Mental Isolation: Impacts of Technology
"Life over these past 200 years has changed more than it did in the 10,000 years that preceded it."
(statisticbrain.com) Everyone knows that when someone spends time on their electronic devices
they cut down social interaction. The younger generation presupposes that using their smartphones
or other devices with communication will actually make them more communicative. However, that
is not the case, because humans need face–to–face intercommunications. I have been magnetized
into that hole that everyone is in because of believing what everyone is doing. Spending more of my
daytime looking at a screen and getting one of many adverse side effects like sleep deprivation.
Even my younger brother of 6 started playing video games; at age 10 he has a phone because people
have become really susceptible to electronic devices for easy communication. I personally have
been distressed by my phone and I have been getting less sleep as the days go by. There is also an
impact on how we matriculate as a community. I believe that electronics have affected me
negatively because I have got very distracted from my homework and studying. Technology is
affecting interpersonal communication within people all around the world and a person
psychologically and how people communicate to one another via speech.
Humans rely on communication as a major aspect of their survival, and in the past communication

I Am A Part Of This Program

  • 1. I Am A Part Of This Program If given the opportunity to be a part of this program, I will take full advantage of the resources provided by the program in order to better prepare myself for the future ahead of me. I will inquire my Heart 2 Heart Mentor how to prepare for the GRE, how to become a competitive applicant, and how to be a successful student in professional school, particularly at DMU. In addition, I will develop a rapport with my Admissions Advisor, who I hope will guide me all the way to physical therapy school matriculation. In addition, I aim to create lifelong relationships with the other nine students in the program, expanding my network with connections from around the country. The program appears enriching and eventful, and I am most excited about the hands–on component, especially the anatomy and the Human Performance labs. I have taken anatomy only in high school, and it fascinated me with its complexity of the human body. The deeper I ventured into the subject, the more lost I was in its immensity. Being able to work with a cadaver at DMU would be a surreal, captivating experience. Regarding the Human Performance Lab, being able to diagnose and treat patients through motion analysis sounds like a unique, non–invasive treatment plan which I believe could revolutionize modern medicine. One particular subject I wish to discuss is current healthcare topics. Particularly, I want to be educated about US healthcare disparities, the root of these disparities, and what I can do as a ... White (1992); conducted a study to determine whether existing research allow us to answer a narrow but crucial question in the larger debate over educational choice. Are student achievement differences between public and private schools large enough to be of relevance to the policy debate over educational choice? To answer such a query, the author has analyzed the research based on High School and beyond study (HSB). The HSB study was based on random sample of approximately 1000 public and private schools. The study consisted of three waves of interviews, testing and data collection. • 5. Strategic Planning Process Analysis Paper The Hypothetical Schedule: Prospective Florida Attorney (continued) Advancing to the final stage of the strategic planning model, illustrated in Figure 3.1, evolves from conceptual to reality as our prospect assembles a schedule from all of their prerequisite research applied heretofore. As a result, a logically simplified process produces a single execution model for each phase of the plan. The need for an effective, simplified method to organize all activities, dates, and critical deadlines in an easily maintained process rivals the requirement to retain consistency throughout this particular project life–cycle. While numerous methods exist to construct such schedules, our prospect chooses to utilize a spreadsheet for its simplicity in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Understand that the explosive growth of information commonly experienced when bringing concepts and ideas forward tend to surface, sometimes surprisingly, when constructing a detailed schedule. A point often overlooked when developing plans relate to consideration of their tangible manageability during implementation. Hofstadter's Law describes an abyss entered by myriads of projects and tasks evidenced by consuming resources far beyond reasonable projections. And while not building the Nautilus, a significant amount of dates and activities fashion themselves around critical components of the process. With multiple universities to track, our prospect will note the schedule grows substantially as additional sets of dates, deadlines or other requirements add to the mix. Consolidating date instances by normalizing earliest occurrences in phase I and II should alleviate some unwieldiness of managing that information. However, with the obvious exception of academic requirements, potential minefields lay in wait for missing any dates on that schedule and illustrate the main reason for its existence in the first ... Honestly, I ignorant to several laws before I heard Mr. McKnight's speech. This assembly was very informative and it is one of the most relevant assemblies I have experience since my matriculation at Claflin. The beginning of McKnight's speech was shaky, due to the fact that I could not hear his words clears. However, he quickly adjusted the volume problem and he addressed some errors on the program. • 9. SES Mission Statement Organization and Administration Final Exam: Question 2 According to researchers, the experiences of students in higher education have been examined through a variety of lenses. These include race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Low socioeconomic status (SES) students are outside the mainstream and arguably equally disadvantaged in higher education. SES, however, has received little attention in comparison to the aforementioned special interest groups (Walpole, 2003). Scholars who have worked to address this gap in the literature, found low SES and high SES students exhibit different behaviors in college choice, matriculation, persistence, and post–secondary enrollment (Walpole, 2003; John and Paulsen, 2002). These variances demonstrate that students with greater financial concerns are more at risk in terms of access to and success in college. This essay will address the impact of SES on college access and success. In addition, this essay will analyze the mission statement of The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) for connections to issues of SES in college access and/or success. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This, along with pressures from policymakers, led to practices that emphasized SES as a measure of academic success that negatively impacted the matriculation of underrepresented students. These practices rewarded higher SES students and penalized lower SES, resulting in misaligned financial packages that impacted their access to the institution and ability persist. Aligning of institutional scholarship to inform institutional policy is one example that would better represent the university's mission of advancing society through research, creative activity, and scholarly inquiry. When combined with its pledge to public service, the institution has a greater ability to frame its work and positively impact issues of access and success for low SES ... It involves writing and defending a thesis or completing a research project which represents the culmination of the material learned. Admission to a Master 's program is normally contingent upon holding a bachelor's degree. Should the student desire to graduate from a doctoral program, Master's level training is a prerequisite. In some fields or graduate programs, work on a doctorate can begin as soon as the bachelor's degree is finished. Some programs offer a joint Bachelor 's and Master 's degree after four to five years of study. At the completion of these programs both a B.A. and an M.S. can be awarded. For thesis projects, students will typically work with an academic adviser to propose a topic, write a research prospectus and draft a final paper describing the research results. The research process takes about one year. The thesis is then reviewed by the student's academic committee who must approve the paper before the student can proceed to graduation. If revisions are needed, graduation could be delayed for one or more semesters. Many graduate schools have residency requirements to complete a degree. While the EA program was being developed and rolled out at Denver Law, we designed a survey–based study to explore the impact of this program on enrollment and student educational experience. The study was designed around a series of Denver Law student surveys. Here, we report on the findings of five surveys: three entering classes (2013–14, 2014–15, and 2015–16) and two graduating classes (2015–16 and 2016–17). Table 1 outlines the logic. Table 1. Poor Matriculation Results in South Africa Poor educational standards and Matriculation results in South Africa– A Case Study Introduction Poor educational standard is an issue which has been discussing globally. Matriculation is an important stage in the educational life of a student. The reason being it is a turning point or point of departure to different destinations. So utmost guidance and care must be given to students who are on that stage to get the desired outcome. Here the researcher is trying to analyse the various reasons behind the poor performance of learners. The researcher has decided to limit the study to South African matric examination. So the problem is what are the factors contributing to poor educational standards and matriculation results in South Africa? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is crystal clear that there are disparities in the quality of education that township and former model C schools receive. Many well–off pupils attend former Model C schools, which are still well– resourced. Conversely, the majority of poor pupils attend poorly–resourced township and rural schools, which are not capable of providing education to a satisfactory standard. The Sunday Times released a survey in late 2009 revealing the Top 100 schools in the country. More than 90 of these were former Model C schools. It is likely that South Africa's former Model C schools are responsible for the majority of the country's university entrants. The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, was correct in her statement. Process Based on the factors discussed above, there are numerous factors contributing to the poor educational standards and matriculation results. Some drastic actions are needed to eliminate or reduce the effect of these negativities. So, the recent review of the New Curriculum Statement (NCS) suggested that some early steps that should be taken. * The report highlighted textbooks as a major contributory factor and called for the simplification of procurement and distribution policies, currently different in each province. * They also urged English to be taught as an additional language from Grade 1 (as current policy states) rather than Grade 3 (as seems to be common ... A rite of passage is associated with a ceremonial procedure that marks some significant time or period in an individual's life in which there is a period of change. E.g puberty. This article focused on the questions that were like the reasoning behind service learning and how does it benefit the student. One definition in the article that stood out to me was service learning being defined as a pedagogy that fosters the development of skills and knowledge needed for participation in public life. This was prevalent because it allows the student to network with others outside of the community while giving back. Service learning was created to get away from the traditional way of learning while implementing a new learning system. Additionally, it is also mentioned in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Amory's Matriculation To Princeton Essay Amory interiorizes the conformity that Moretti describes on survival upon matriculation to Princeton. His life becomes a fraud as his daily interactions grow predicated upon what Moretti refers to as the curbing of "intrinsically boundless dynamism" (6). In essence, Amory restrains his role as a dynamic character in his pursuit of mastery of social structure and popularity. This obsession is alluded to and eventually cemented in his first year at Princeton. Walking into Princeton, he concedes his fascination as he "watched each rank of linked arms" pass by with "voices blent" (45). His admiration of the football team's pack mentality and high position on campus provides insight into his willingness to compromise his character as well as into his overconcentration with trivialities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Right as the character attains a realistic world view, Moretti proposes that the protagonist is forced to face a major decision: Should he abandon his values for conformity or continue to pursue his personal goals in the face of failure? Such a double bind implies Moretti's belief that a bildungsroman presents two undesirable situations for a character and he or she must choose between the lesser of two evils: self–betrayal or failure. Moretti describes that bildungsroman characters grow "far less ambitious than synthesis" (Moretti 10). Likewise, Amory realizes the difficulty of remaining unique and grows "decidedly unheroic," using inaction as a "tool for survival" (Moretti 10). Admittedly, Amory reaches an ingenuine but high social position on campus, thus embodying his active pursuit of conformity. Through his entrance into elite clubs, Amory capitulates to conformity and eventually solidifies his decision to become "one of the gods of his class" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Readiness And Enrichment Program Reflection Paper I chose to apply to Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University because of its unique educational programs, an assortment of service opportunities, and devotion to biomedical research. As the first member of my immediate family to try to earn a higher education degree, the Pre– matriculation Readiness & Enrichment Program (PREP) is one that I believe will help with preparing for it. The transition to medical school will be challenging initially, but this program's commitment to providing early exposure to its curriculum and acclimating its students to the school's environment will be beneficial. Furthermore, the communal programs at Lewis Katz will enable me to continue showing my devotion to the underserved population that helped raise me. Growing up in Starrett City, Brooklyn, where the rate of homelessness was high, contributed to my decision to volunteer at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, where I helped underserved individuals obtain social services and other amenities. ... • 36. When A Crisis Happens Or The Circumstances Change When a Crisis Happens or Your Circumstances Change Sometimes "life happens" and you're carefully laid plans for taking courses or writing your dissertation goes astray. You may find yourself unexpectedly pregnant, your partner might get a dream job and want you to move to another city, or you might face a financial downturn, family crisis, or major health problem of your own. If an unforeseen event gets in the way of studies that you want to continue, don't simply give up your plans. Talk to your supervisor, graduate program director, and/or TA or student union representative to find out your options. They probably have lots of experience with students in similar situations, and most will be happy to advocate on your behalf. Occasionally, even the most carefully chosen path needs to be revised. Old interests wane, circumstances irrevocably alter, or you find your program unsuitable or unbearable. If this occurs, consult with relevant faculty, graduate students and academic advisors about the possible ramifications of changing fields, programs, or institutions. Will your progress be delayed, and if so, by how much and in what way? Through serious consideration, you can decide whether the extra burdens associated with a major shift are worth enduring. Do not, however, confuse discouragement for failure or incompatibility with the historical profession. Despite the fact that I was focused on the gospel choir's upcoming performance, I paid attention to the entire program. The ceremony was a decent, but there were a few flaws in the program. In addition to the mistakes that I witnessed, a large majority of the audience did not receive all of the information well. • 42. The Importance Of Commitment In College A student's decision to attend college is a personal choice that comes with personal recognition of their responsibility. Whether the student attends a two or four –year college this choice requires commitment. Commitment begins with the acceptance of personal responsibility for one's actions, determination, and hard work. Gordon states in his article that "choosing a college is a daunting task for the graduating high school student. And considering that choices made in college shape the trajectory of the rest of your life, its significance can't be underestimated" (Gordon Govier, 2010) College attendance is not a requirement but a gateway to a successful career if one is responsible enough to attend and complete course work to earn a degree. I feel as though being a college student is very time consuming, and I have never been so over whelmed with work in my life. There are a lot of things that you must put into view before you decide to come to any college. Everything should be sent to your school and done in a timely matter for when you get to the school of your choice you will not be lost. To be a full–time college student you must put into perspective what type of schedule you want to have and how much free time you have so you can learn to use your free time in a timely matter. Yet, our institutions of higher education do not reflect this rising demographic tide. However, according to the U.S. Department of Education, URM students are just as likely to enroll in STEM studies as White and Asian students when they initially begin their undergraduate education, yet they are more likely to switch to non– science majors (2012). Background, or sometimes referred to as defining variables, refer to those factors that occur prior to students' enrollment in post–secondary education that are expected to affect their academic outcomes (Wood & Williams, 2013). Students bring these variables with them upon entry into post–secondary education. Background variables for minority students that may affect their matriculation into STEM PhD programs include academic disadvantages and lower, socio– economic circumstances Academic Disadvantages One of the main barriers to college attainment is the alarmingly high, high school dropout rate among minority students; only 56 percent of Blacks and 54 percent of Hispanics graduate from high school (Green, 2002). Results from the matriculation exams determine the student's prospects for postsecondary education, which is free for Finnish citizens (Gamerman). One consequence of Finland's intense matriculation exams is that students arrive at universities fully prepared for their studies, and students who do not wish to continue on into college have sufficient preparation for a career. Japan, on the other hand, has an entirely different method of encouraging its students to perform well in school. Rather than a comprehensive high school exit exam, Japanese universities each have their own uniquely arduous entrance exams, (Okano and Tsuchiya 114). The exams are highly competitive, so there is great pressure on the student to perform well in order to get into the university of the student's choosing. High schools in Japan help to prepare students for university entrance exams, and juku, or "cram schools" are another popular method of preparing for the exams (Okano and Tsuchiya 60). Student Success And Support Services Program Essay Research/Policy Topic Analysis: Student Success and Support Services Program (SSSP) Background The Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) for California community colleges arose as a result of the Senate Bill 1456 with a mission "to increase California community college student access and success by providing effective core matriculation services, including orientation, assessment and placement, counseling, and other educational planning services, and academic interventions," or follow–up services for at–risk students (Graillat, Lawrence, Quiaoit & Mohr, 2016, p. 4). While this Senate Bill established the SSSP, there were other acts and bills that came before that eventually paved the way for the Student Success and Support Program. The Seymour–Campbell Matriculation Act of 1986 created the matriculation process for continuing and incoming students taking courses for credit. The idea was that there should be an equal educational opportunity across California and that this would be accomplished through having the same educational services across campuses that would help students reach their educational goals (Graillat et al., 2016). Furthermore, in 1990, the Board of Governors (BOG) specified what the regulations would be for implementing the matriculation process (Graillat et al., 2016). In 1997 and 1998, Assembly Bill (AB) 1542 and AB 107 were passed. These bills extended these services to students taking noncredit courses (Graillat et al., 2016). While the goal of ... • 67. Matriculation Lab Report Luke Oh Partner: Daniel Zhao & Huy Le TA: Jake Merle March 24th, 2016 Experiment 3: Characterization of nonsense mutation in E. coli A. Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether a point mutation on the lac– strain, CSH61, from the previous experiment is suppressed by amber suppressors, SuI, SuII, and SuIII. If the point mutation on the lac– strain was a nonsense mutation, a second mutation on the tRNA for that codon would be able to restore function of the lac gene by inserting an appropriate amino acid at the stop codon instead of terminating protein production. Therefore, the CSH61 cells could grow on lactose. If the point mutation was missense, no growth would be able to occur as the lac gene would not have its function restored. This experiment was carried out by mating Hfr lac– mutants (CSH61) to three F– strains (CSH54, CSH55, and CSH56) with deletions in the lac–pro region, each with a different suppressor and a type of antibiotic resistance. This result indicated that the point mutation in the CSH61 mutant strain was unable to be reverted by supD, sup E, or supF.
