Life skills play an important role for becoming successful professionally and improving our
personal lives. Oprah, in her lifeclass video, talks about being responsible for yourself and not
waiting for anyone else to change the circumstances around you as a way to develop the skills
necessary to flourish. The story of Robert Sherfields first experience at community college, "How

Life skills without forming good habits first would be useless and in some cases hinder personal and
professional growth. An example of this would be a worker in a factory knowing how to run a piece
of machinery essential to the company. The worker has the skills needed for the position but has
developed bad habits which make him late for work or unsafely run the machine. Those habits

Accountability is one of the many skills learned in the military which transfers directly to the
civilian world, yet is crucially paramount while still enlisted seeing as the stakes are generally much
higher. I was once told a story chronicling the account of an individual lost during a convoy

successful life and a vital gauge for one to evaluate their progress. Strategies as simple as writing

Victor's own brother dies by the hands of the creature and Victor still doesn't react in anyway and

behavior means that you strive to be truthful, accurate, and clear in your communication with others.
