stand out, speak up and seize control against BigTobacco
• “More than 1,000 events are planned by independent
organizers across the United States and around the world. ”
• “Everyday, more than 3,000 kids under 18 try smoking for
the first time and 700 kids become new regular, daily
smokers.”
• Tobacco use is still the leading cause of preventable death in
the U.S.

• Record meeting minutes and track attendance during club meetings
• Send weekly emails with meeting minutes and reminding members of upcoming meetings/events
• Register the club for meeting room/other activities for RSO’s.
• This position could double as ‘web master’ in ensuring the website is up to date with material about
upcoming events.
• Vice President:
• Preside over weekly club meetings in the absence of the president, and attend all club meetings be
in contact with the projects of the club.
• Support the governance and success of the club by optimize the relationship between the
Committees, members, and to achieve the club’s agreed goals.
• Treasurer:
• Manage UW Lung Health BankAccount
• Serve as Membership Chair, collecting and tracking registration forms
• Keep track of incoming and outgoing funds
• In charge of collecting fundraising/event income

• Lead a committee of other club members to plan, design, and create fundraising opportunities.
• Work closely with American Lung Association to coordinate fundraising events and bring them
to the UW campus
• Plan at least one large fundraiser a year and two smaller ones.
• Delegate other club members and other committees to promote and implement events and to
involve community outside of the UW.
