1. 1. ~Respiratory System~
Breanna
2. 2. The respiratory system consists of the airways, the lungs and the respiratory muscles that mediate the movement of air into and out of the body to help us survive.
The two main functions of the respiratory systems are that it Moves oxygen into the body, and removes carbon dioxide and water from the body nearly every minute of the day.

3. 3. The nose warms the air near it, and produces mucus that collect dirty substances that could potentially harm a human. It really helps the system as when you breath your mouth consuming oxygen sometimes isn't enough, and the nose collects its own oxygen.

The Pharynx is also known as the throat which connects the nose and mouth. It swallows food and takes the oxygen down the oesophagus.

4. 4. The Larynx is also known as the voice box because it contains vocal cords which produce vocal sounds. When you sing the Larynx vibrates to create the sound you want. For example your singing voice.
The Diaphragm is a large muscle that contracts and expands the lungs , which is also known as breathing in and out. The lungs are amazing.

Did you know You breathe in and out anywhere from 15 to 50 times per minute without even thinking about it.

5. 5. When you exercise, your breathing rate goes up without you thinking about it. You can't even stop yourself from breathing if you try!
Overall the Respiratory System is one of the most important ones as without it you'll die. The organs and muscles consisting of the respiratory system need to be taken care of, as when you smoke cigarettes or inhale smoke it is one of the first systems to be damaged.
