1. TOUR AND TRAVEL
Introduction – Tour and travelling always create excitement
and joy in heart of every people. It helps to rejoice in our
body and help to imagine various colors in our life. To see
different places, culture, people their living styles helps to
think as a different world. Some people goes to see the
whole world, Europe, America, Africa etc. But people from
all over the world always eager to see the culture, tradition
and historical places of India, because there is no
comparison of Indian culture in all over the world. I also
decided to take a vacant from my routine life and decided to
see some historical place in India. Finally I decided to see
various historical places of Delhi. After all Delhi is capital of
India and evidence of various invade and historical
buildings made by different dynasties of India in different
era of India.
2. DELHI-The capital of India
Delhi is the Capital of India . If we look back to Indian History in
Mahabharat era Delhi was known as Indraprastha that
established by Pandavas. Even after it many famous Indian
dynasty made Delhi to their capital. Prithviraj Chauhan, Hemu ,
and all Mughal emperors and many more. The reason was that
this region was suitable to control whole nation from here. That’s
why in modern history we will found that Kolkata was the capital
earlier during British empire. But after that it’s shifted to Delhi.
Finally it is our capital and a metro city as well. The economy of
Delhi is also rich. All the Government offices, Govt. Ministries
are situated in Delhi. Even our Prime Minister and President of
India lives in Delhi. Constitutional assembly is also situated in
Delhi. Supreme Court of India is also in Delhi.
3. There are so many ways to reach Delhi. Anybody can reach
Delhi by bus, train, by air, taxi etc. I decided to go by bus as I
have fond to see on the way scenes of various locations. Delhi is
250 KM Approx from Chandigarh. I took a bus from sector 17
and my journey started. On the ways while travelling to Delhi I
saw many places like Krukshetra where Great battle of
Mahabharata fought. Then I saw Panipat where most of the
historical wars of India fought. After 5 hours journey finally I
reached to Maharana Pratap Bus Stand at Kashmiri Gate. There
I took a rest for 30 Minutes and then I hired a cab to see first
historical place.

4. FAMOUS TOURIST PLACES
IN DELHI
INDIA GATE
India gate is one of the famous tourist place of
India.It is also known as Indian Army’s
tomb because it was built in the memory of
82,000 undivided Indian Army soldiers who
died during world war l. Sir Edwin Lutyens
had designed this memorial.This monument
was inaugurated by Ex- Prime Minister Indira
Gandhi.Yellow and red Sand stone and
granite are used to construct this monument.
There is no fix visiting timing here.We can
visit any time here. No any entry fee is charge
here. We can reach here by any vehicle like
auto ,bus, taxi etc. India Gate is about 2.3Km
from Rashtrapati Bhavan. Amar Jawan
Jyoti is situated below the India Gate Arch.
5. RED FORT
Red fort was established by
Fifth Mughal Emperor
Shahjahan. This fort is totally
made by red stone that’s why it
is called Red fort. This fort is
also a UNISCO world heritage
building. This is a very
beautiful structured fort. There
is a garden in the fort. The art
of mohammadan and persian
tradition looks in this fort. Now
this is the most iconic
monument. The first freedom
India flag was hoisted on Red
Fort.We celebrate 26 January
and 15th August in Red
Fort.Many political activities
also run in Red Fort.
6. AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE
Akshardham Temple or Swamy
Narayan Temple is also a very
beautiful place to visit while
travelling in Delhi. This Temple
was built in 2005 and opened by
former president of India Dr. APJ
Abdul Kalam. People who visit to
Delhi also go to see Akshardham
Temple. The architecture of the
temple is really unbelievable and
the technology that used to build
this temple is awesome. It seems
that the God lives here in
reality.70 to 80% tourists
definetely visit to Akshardham
Temple while travelling to Delhi.
7. JAMA MASJID
Jama Masjid is Built by
Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in
1956. It took approx 12 Years
to built this mosque. This
building is constructed with
Red and white marble and
stones. This is totally opposite
to Red fort. One time approx
25000 people can pray in this
mosque. This is the biggest
mosque of India. There are lots
of market and shops close to
Jama Masjid especially
restaurants and eating points
are very popular.
8. QUTUB MINAR
I reached to Qutub Minar in
after noon. It’s located in
Mehrauli Delhi area. Qutub
minar was founded by Qutub-
ud- Din-Ebak in 1192 AD and
completed by his son in law –
Illtumish. This is a national and
UNISCO world heritage building.
It’s a 240 ft. architectural
building. Really it’s a good
heritage building to view. If any
body visit to Delhi, once should
visit to see Qutub Minar as well.
9. Lotus temple is in Kalkaji New Delhi.
In 1986 this temple was built. The
temple is made of white and red
stones. It shapes in lotus that’s why
it called Lotus temple. This is also a
very beautiful attraction of New
Delhi. Approx 2400 people can visit
in the temple one time. This Temple
is based as per Bahai religion. And
according to Bahai all the religions
are same so any religion people can
go to see the temple. This is the
temple where there is no sculpture of
any god.

10. Wow ! It was such a great idea to visit Delhi as I imagined after
seeing all the decided places I found my decision perfect to see
Delhi and near about areas. The ancient buildings Red fort,
Kutubminar, Jantar – Mantar, India Gate, Lotus temple,
Akshardham Temple, Make me proud to be an Indian and
Indian culture. I felt so excited while visited to all the historical
buildings that I was in the same era when all these places are
made on the front of me. It was really a bravery to build such
fascinating sculpture those time and I really salute to all those
architects who designed these kind of buildings.
