6. Red Fort is a monument which is not only associated with rich history but is
also serving as the ceremonial ground on the national occasions such as
Republic day and Independence Day. When the fort was originally built, it was
white in color with limestone. Later on when the white stone started chipping
off, Fort got painted to red color. The Light and Sound Show combines
artistic storytelling with visual animation which is one of the attractions in
Red Fort. The magnificent Red Fort is built in the octagonal shape. The
construction of this fort was started in 1638 and got completed in 1648.

8. HUMAYUN’S TOMB
Humayun’s tomb is a splendid mausoleum built in the memory of Emperor
Humayun. The Humayun’s tomb is the starting point of the Mughal
architecture in India. The grand structure is situated in the center of a 216000
m2square garden complex on a raised 7 m high stone platform. Built
primarily in red sandstone, the monument is a perfectly symmetrical
structure, with white marble double domes capped with 6 m long brass finial
ending in a crescent. The Humayun’s tomb complex comprises of several
buildings, tombs, mosques, and a lodging place.
9. India Gate is a symbol of sacrifice and dedication of Indian soldiers. It was
constructed in the honour of 90,000 Indian soldiers who lost their life in the
World War I hence its also known as the India War Memorial. Names of

prominence this structure holds in the country. The height of India Gate is 42
