 Twitter allows people to voice their opinion about anything they
please (positive and negative)
 Allows people to directly interact with their favorite celebrities,
athletes, or even politicians in the form of text and video
 Allows athletes and celebrities to send meaningful messages and
announcements to fans on a massive scale
 Many tweets are simply just memes that people make and share
to be funny and gain clout

Politics
 Politicians are using twitter more than ever before
 Trump has changed the way politicians use social media
(especially twitter)
 Politicians these days will at least create a twitter page to help
gain popularity towards their campaign
 All 100 US senators now have twitter accounts

 Media professionals thrive off of twitter to promote products, post
advertisements, and post promotional videos
 They strategically use pictures, videos, polls, etc to grab the

 There are thousands of jobs offered to people to manage twitter
accounts, post regularly, and interact with users who might have
questions or concerns

olds
 Created a twitter treasure hunt in the UK where they would post a
map that led to a certain LG stall containing 2 high profile concert
tickets
 First one to find the stall wins the tickets; the map zooms in
whenever #lgtickethunter was used on twitter
 The campaign started with 5,000 tweets in the first day and
50,000 tweets by the end
 Led to sales among 16-24 year-olds to quadruple in following
weeks
