Legislative Advocacy:
Petition “Ontario needs Missing Persons Legislation” was introduced to Ontario Parliament by MPP Catherine
Fife on Oct. 20, 2014. A response from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) by
Minister Yasir Naqvi was received in early Dec. 2014. A motion was presented and passed on Oct. 1, 2015. A
bill was introduced on Nov. 2, 2017 (Schedule 7 Bill 175).
