Life History of Siddiqure Rahman
Prologue:
When we think of golf in Bangladesh, the name of Siddiqur Rahman, a prominent golf star of
Bangladesh, is pronounced first of all. Siddiqur Rahman had passed his boyhood days through
severe hardship. He had a childhood life of struggle and spent his days in utmost misery. Golf in
Bangladesh is a game totally for the privileged quarter but glory of Siddikur Rahman can only be
termed as a fairy tale. Proving him as was not just a one–match wonder. He had to work extremely
hard to climb out of the poverty of his birthplace, Dhamalcoat, a slum–like area in the capital city.
He is making a name for himself and for his country on a global stage. It can indeed be termed as a
fairytale that a boy from Madaripur, despite all the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was determined competition and only three candidates out of more than 40 were chosen.
Among the lucky three was Siddiqur Rahman. After being chosen a sparkling eyed Rahman says
"The Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club invited us to represent Bangladesh on October 14, 1999 in
Lahore, Pakistan and it was my first international tournament". Out of the three Bangladeshi
amateurs to compete in that tournament, Rahman performed the best. He felt really good after that
game. It gave him an idea how people played at the international level and he became very confident
that he would improve in the future. But playing in tournaments, national or otherwise, requires not
only financial solvency because of the expensive equipment involved in it but also time and
dedication. All the costs that the team had to bear abroad were being taken care of by the
Bangladesh Golf Federation and they continue to back these promising youngsters.
Rahman has had a number of awards and his trophies include the Champion trophy of the 2001
Bangladesh Open Amateur Tournament sponsored by Partex, becoming the first Bangladeshi to
confirm the title. He won in Bangladesh again at the Bangladesh Amateur Tournament in the
beginning of 2005, after having been the runner–up the two previous years. In 2003, he became the
runner–up at the SAARC Golf Tournament, after having confirmed two championship trophies in
2002 and 2003 in the Dutch–Bangla Pro–Am Championship.

Georgia Football Fans
Every year, since what feels like from the beginning of history, Georgia football fans proclaim to
every person that pays attention to college football that "we are going to win the national
championship this year, I promise." We have all heard it! Now it may just be because I live in the
south in SEC Country, but I have had enough hearing that repetitive phrase over and over again.
Between the months of early March till late August, if you open your ears wide enough, you will be
able to make out the sound of a Georgia fan promising to a friend that The Bulldogs are going to
win it all this year. This Georgia football rant about winning the National Championship needs to
stop because it is annoying and repetitive, and us students can relate to it because there are many
Marist families that call themselves Georgia football fans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It's not going to happen, or it is very unlikely. There are 128 Division 1 football teams in the NCAA,
so technically, The Bulldogs have a 1 in 128 chance of winning the title. Let me just say that is not
too high; however, every other team has the same chance as they do, but still, the odds are slim and
not in their favor. According to Dawg Sports, Georgia will have a great year and "is about to start
raking in national championships and become the new Alabama" (Martin). There is a poll on the
website that asks how many national championships will Georgia win under Kirby Smart. 6823
people voted, and 28% of voters said Georgia will win at least three or more national
championships. The expectations for Georgia fans are just too high, plain and simple. They expect to
win the national championship every year just because they acquired a new superstar player. Let me
remind you this, football has been proven to be a team sport, and one superstar player cannot make a
team worthy of a national championship, especially in today's

The Great Shots With My Own Eyes
I have to add an asterisk here for the reason that I have not stood vigil over all golf shots in the
history of the game. But you already knew that. What I have done is to pay careful attention to all
the major championships since the early 1990s and have read about most of the others. Sure, it 's
kind of nerdy, but I am a historian of golf. Not the greatest historian, or even a historian who has
seen very many of the great shots with my own eyes; nonetheless, I have developed what I hope are
some fair opinions on golf 's greatest surprises. What follows is a ranking of what I think are 10 of
the best 'shock ' shots or events in the game; please add or correct me if you think I have left
anything out. Bear in mind that I am biased in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Venturi, near–delirious, managed to finish at a risk to his health and ended up the champion of a
very emotional open. 5. Johnny Miller, 1973 U.S. Open. Oakmont and the word 'forgiving ' rarely
collide in the same sentence. Miller, several shots back coming into Sunday, claimed to have heard a
voice that told him to 'open his stance. ' He listened to it, and the result is the lowest final round ever
shot in a U.S. Open. 4. Jean Van de Velde, 1999 British Open, Carnoustie. Van de Velde is a famous
golfer, but not for a good reason. His only contention for a major is clouded by the fact that he triple
bogeyed the final hole with a three shot lead. He got into a playoff and lost to Paul Lawrie.
Personally, I always played irons off the tee in similar positions after watching this painful debacle.
3. Bobby Jones, 1930 (all majors). One of the greatest legends in the game, Jones completed the
only recorded 'grand slam '; he won all four of golf 's majors in the same year. Albeit, the majors
included the British and U.S. Amateur championships at the time, we can 't fault Jones. It was all
that was available to him, and he won. 2. Gene Sarazen, 1935 Masters. True, they call Bobby
Thomson 's homerun the 'shot heard round the world ' but the real title should go to the Squire.

Informational Text: Golf
Golf, including the history of it, the equipment used, the rules in place, the tournaments held, and
the etiquette during gameplay, is unique as a sport itself. To note, this isn't about the code word for
the letter g, but it is the actual sport. Golf is a game of precession and focus; your mental state
influences the game very much. It is a game basically where you use a club to whack the ball into
the hole. Golf is one of the most different sports out there.
Golf's History Where is golf's birthplace? Golf's birthplace is on the eastern coast of Scotland in the
Kingdom of Fife during the 15th century, approximately 1457. Later on, the king of Scotland, King
James II, prohibited golf because it distracted people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Golf equipment back then was hand–made, making it expensive. In 1848, metal club heads and
shafts and gutta percha balls were selling so an average person was able to afford to play golf. This
led to the growth of golf. In the 19th century, associations including the British Open and the USGA
(United States Golf Association) held tournaments and researched more about golf. Golf was made a
global sport when it was made an Olympic sport in 1900. For a few 100 years until now, technology
advanced, so golf clubs and balls were modernized, causing more accurate ball flights with more
yardage. During this period, many more associations including the PGA (Professional Golf
Association) and the WPGA (Ladies PGA) were made.
Golf Equipment Unlike other sports, you need a lot more than a ball. You need the clubs, the golf
bag, the tees, the ball marker, the balls, and the cleaning supplies. There are four types of clubs– the
irons, the wedges, the hybrids, and the putters. For all of the categories except putters and wedges,
the higher the number, the more loft the club has. The woods are used from a long distance to the
hole. The 1–wood, so called the driver, is the least lofted of the woods and the ball goes the farthest
with a swing from it. Irons have a higher loft than woods, allowing more precision on the fairway.
The wedge's purpose is to get the ball on the green in a short distance by

Didrikson Zaharias: A Brief Biography
Mildred "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias was a very well known and talented woman. She broke many
olympic records and achieved more points than a whole entire second place team could have ever
achieved in the 1932 Olympics. All around she was an amazing athlete and a very inspirational
woman. Babe was born on June 26, 1911 in Port Arthur,Texas. That exact date was the day there
was a huge blast on a barge in Port Arthur. Babe was the sixth of seven children to be born by
Norwegian immigrants Ole Nickolene and Hannah Marie (Olson) Didrikson. In 1915 her family
moved to Beaumont, Texas where a deadly hurricane hit and her brother Arthur Storm was born.
1915 was also the part of Babe's life where she started to become a skilled athlete on some rustic
equipment her father gave her brother and sisters. Babe actually got her nickname from sandlot
games she would play with neighborhood boys who thought she batted like Babe Ruth. By high
school, around 1930, she became very talented and that is when she got recruited to Spark's, a
company's semi professional women's basketball team. Between 1930 and 1932 she led the Golden

Jack Nicklaus Essay
Jack Nicklaus
For the past 30 years, Jack Nicklaus has been considered by many to be the greatest golfer of all
time(1). His stamina has matched that of Arnold Palmer, and only the likes of Ben Hogan, Byron
Nelson, Bobby Jones, and Tiger Woods are to be considered players in Nicklaus' league. In numbers
of major tournaments won, Nicklaus stands alone with 18 victories(1), a number that does not
include major titles won on the Champions Tour. He has won 73 times on the PGA Tour and has 58
second–place and 36 third–place finishes, as well as a total of 113 victories worldwide.(1) Nicklaus

However, he never lit a cigarette on the golf course, unlike every other smoker in the field, even
when he was stuck in a trying moment. When asked why this was so, Jack simply replied, "I just
don't think about it." (2)
In 1963, Nicklaus won the Masters and the PGA Championship(1). He ran away with the 1965
Masters, winning by nine strokes, in what Bobby Jones called "the greatest
Page 2 performance in golf history."(2) Nicklaus shattered Ben Hogan's Masters record of 274 by
three strokes.(1)Nicklaus successfully defended his Masters title the following year and won his first
British Open, becoming one of only five golfers to win all four majors(1) (the others are Gene
Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods).(1) At the 1967 U.S. Open, Nicklaus pulled
away from Palmer in the final round to win by four strokes(1), finally proving to "Arnie's Army"
that Jack Nicklaus was truly the best golfer in the world.
The beginning of the 1970's was the start to Jack's most dominant decade. When it came to winning
consistently, Nicklaus was a machine. Between 1970 and 1975 he won seven more majors, the only
victories "that count,"(2) as he liked to say. His 1973 PGA Championship title put him
one ahead of Bobby Jones' thirteen major victories, and his 1975 Masters was his fifth win at

Essay On Squash In Pakistan
Squash is the only "Single player's Sports" in which Pakistan has made its presence recognized at
the international level. Squash has made the country famous. For the better part of five decades,
Pakistan has completely dominated squash like no other place in the world. Between 1950 and 1997,
Pakistan managed to win more than 30 British Open titles, 14 World Open titles, and many PSA
professional titles. During the supremacy of Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan in the 80s and 90s,
squash in Pakistan reached incredible heights of success, although they were hardly the first players

But Pakistan has been a force to be reckoned with in the Asian Games, the SAF Games and the

College Football Playoff Rankings Report
The latest version of the College Football Playoff rankings has been released. We're one week closer
the National Championship, and virtually nothing is any clearer than the previous weeks. The top
four teams in the rankings remained unchanged – Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Michigan –
and most experts agree that Alabama is a virtual lock to stay at the top. The rest of the party,
especially the Big Ten representative (s), is very much up in the air. We'll skip past the Crimson
Tide, as they're expected to get past Auburn in the Iron Bowl this weekend and coast through the
SEC Championship game. Although, Auburn has won two Iron Bowls since 2010. Ohio State hosts
Michigan on Saturday in what could be a play–in game for a spot among the top four playoff teams.
In the muddled mess that is the Big Ten East Division, an Ohio State win coupled with a Penn State
win over Michigan State would send the Nittany Lions to the Big Ten Championship game. ... Show

By that time, we'll know the outcome of the Washington versus Washington State game. If these
scenarios play out, the new rankings would likely have Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and
Wisconsin in the top four spots going into the championship games. At that point, the college
football landscape becomes a game of "wait and see", halted until the championship games play out.
Of course, if Washington wins this weekend and Alabama, Clemson or Wisconsin loses, it could set
up mass chaos for the championship games on Dec 3. New teams could enter the fray, as Penn State
could still have a shot with a win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship. Meanwhile, the Big

Team Playoff Case Study
Sports have always served as a distraction from the rest of the world, and hopefully, the Badgers
will gain some votes of their own as the season winds down. With wins over Nebraska and
Northwestern in the past two weeks, Wisconsin sits at No. 7 in the college football rankings. With a
few weeks left in the regular season, and then conference championship games, there is still plenty
of time for the Badgers to make their move. If they win out and win the conference championship
game, it will be hard to keep them out, even with two losses. Here are the teams to root for and
against if you want to see Wisconsin in the Playoff.
BIG TEN
Root For: Michigan, Nebraska

Root Against: Oklahoma, if you want
The Big 12 is not getting a playoff team unless there is chaos at the top of the standings. Oklahoma
is the highest–ranked team in the conference, and they could still make a move with their
backloaded schedule, but without a conference championship game and without much respect for
the conference Oklahoma does not have much of a chance, but they have the Big–12's best chance.
PAC 12
Root For: Washington State, PAC–12 South Champion
Washington State plays Washington in the last week of the season, and winning that game would
ruin Washington's chances and keep them out of the conference championship game and likely out
of the playoff race.
If Washington State fails to derail Washington before the conference championship game, then it
will be up to the South Division Champion to beat the Huskies in the conference championship.
Washington likely will not get into the Playoff without a conference championship, and the South
Champion (likely Colorado, USC, or Utah) will have a chance to beat

The Greatest Golfer Of All Time
When asked who is the greatest golfer of all time, what is the first name that comes to mind? This
question has been debated for years and will continue to be for many years to come. Initially, most
people will jump the gun and say Jack Nicklaus is the clear favorite because he has won eighteen
major championships compared to Tiger's fourteen. It's quite hard to tell them they are in the wrong
considering the major's are what every golfer dreams of winning and are without a doubt the most
hard to come by. Being that there are only four per year, when you're in the hunt coming down the

Next, I'd like to look the consistency and longevity of these two super athletes. One key statistical
edge Tiger has over Jack is total wins. He currently has seventy–nine wins with many years left to
add to that number, whereas Jack retired with only seventy–three. He also trumped Nicklaus with
his 142 consecutive cuts made, a streak that lasted more than seven years. Nicklaus' best was 105,
which sits third on the all time list. However, if being great is more about dominating their
opposition rather than just compiling numbers, then again Tiger comes out on top. Tiger has a record
setting ten seasons on the PGA Tour in which he won five or more tournaments. Jack sits in third
once again with a total of seven. With this being said, it's no surprise Woods has also comprised the
most money titles on tour along with the most player of the year awards. Not to mention he has as
claimed the most Vardon trophies for the best scoring average on tour. No one can argue the fact that
Tiger has been the game's undisputed best player more times than Nicklaus. Woods' most impressive
stat would have to be that of the fact that he won twenty–seven percent of the time he competed.
This is extremely impressive because Jack only came out the victor twelve percent on the time when
he competed. One must take into consideration that Nicklaus

ball lined up significantly off the toe of the club. He does that partially due to his impact position.
Then, the next detail you need to look at is his often spoke about grip. You will see that he actually
grips the club in a particularly strong position. There are many people who would associate this
procedure with a leftward miss. However, there is one important thing that Zach constantly works
on, and that it is the fact that he matches his release up to this grip, and other positions up with how
he will actually release his club. As Johnson takes the club away from the golf ball, you will see that
the club face is in a slightly shut position. It is like that due to his exceptionally strong grip. He also
has very little lateral movement on both the backswing and follow through. It is highly
recommended to also have a close look at his head and his hips as well. You will notice that they

Basketball-Personal Narrative
"Come on guys," I yelled. I heard the screech of the referee's whistle. Rushing to the bench, I heard
the referee call out "Timeout, Heat." Everything was on the line and our team's championship hopes,
being foremost on our team's minds, was all coach could scream about. "I'm not going to tell you
how to play basketball," he yelled out. "That's your job. I'm just going to say that right now, to us,
this is a championship game. If we win this, we move on to the championship. If not, at least let us
fall valiantly." That got the whole team riled up as we rushed back onto the court. The crowd,
encouraging as always, yelled out their approval on the fact that we were giving it our all. With just
sixteen seconds left in the game and our team down by four, something special had to happen or we

"Bang," yelled the crowd in unison. We fed off the cheering and screaming home crowd. We used
their cheers as our energy. We kept on going. From somewhere in the crowd, I heard someone yell,
"come on guys, you're only down one now." A harsh realization dawned on me. For all of the glory
in the three pointer we just made, we were still losing, and we only had 11 seconds to change that.
Inbound, foul; within seconds, their team was at the free throw line shooting two free throws. "The
first free throw is...good." A hush fell over the home crowd. Everyone knew what that meant. It
meant that now, the only way to win the game is by the means of another three pointer, and that is
only if he misses this next shot. If not, our only chance is to tie the game with a three

Impact of the Political Discourse Ethics System on the Consequentialist and Virtue Ethics in the
Professional Athleticism of Iran
Introduction: In the world today, professional sport championships require some new ethics based
on which the measurement and evaluation of athletic behaviors could be realized. In the athletics
and professional sports which have already become an industry like mercantilism, more and more
profit is sought. Habermas's theory of discourse ethics is an ethical approach based on the principles
emphasizing the implications of constructivism and communicative rationality as well as universal

scholars. The data collection tools were consisted of semi–structured and open interviews with 34
experts and scholars as well as analyzing multiple sources which once their validity had been
confirmed, their reliability was obtained by Cronbach's alpha as α = 0/93. In the quantitative phase,
the sampling was of a purposive (judgment) nature and the sample size of 150 elites and experts in
the field of ethics and athletics in unlimited population was estimated based on the formula. The
conceptual model was investigated using structural equation modeling with Partial Least Squares

Tiger Woods Biography
When people think of golf, they think it is a sport for babies. Also, tons of people think golf as a
sport that anyone can do without any practice. When I tried golf for the first time, it was harder than
it looks. To help myself get better at the sport, I started to watch pro golfers play. My favorite golfer
is Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods has been one of the highest paid athletes for many years. Eldrick Tont
Woods, better known as Tiger Woods, was born on December 30, 1975 in Cypress California. As a
child, Woods had an interest in golf. Nobody can just grab a golf club and a golf ball and be good at
it right away. So, he realized that his father, Earl, does a bit of golfing once and a while. Therefore,
Earl became Tiger Woods teacher. Earl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

three U.S Open wins, three Open Championship wins, and three U.S Masters wins. In 2004, Tiger

longtime girlfriend Elin Nordegren in October of 2004. Returning to his dominate sport, he won six
championships in 2005 and was voted the PGA Tour Player of The Year for the seventh time in nine
years. As time flew by, winning lots of tournaments, he experienced a great personal loss in 2006.
His father died in May after battling prostate cancer. This was a very hard thing for Woods,
remembering his dad teaching him to play golf. He thought about how he wouldn't be where he is
now if it wasn't for his father. The next season after his loss, he continued to go on the winning
streak. His wife gave birth to the couples first child, Sam Alexis Woods, on June 18, 2007.

Sports in the 1920s: depiction of the changes sports, and...
Sports in the 1920s
Sports went through many changes in the time period known as the "Roaring Twenties." Some
sports were just starting out; others were broadening their horizons, while others were simply
becoming more popular. New heroes were emerging in sports, new teams, and even new leagues.
Although there were many greats in the 1920s, without a doubt, George "Babe" Ruth was the first
and most famous out of all the heroes presented in this time. Ruth changed the whole game of
baseball. Ruth was traded to the Yankees from the Red Sox on January 3, 1920 for $125,000. This
was more than double the highest price paid for a player. The country had just come out of war, and

Essay: Can Tiger Woods Become The Best Player Ever
Tiger Woods Will Become The Greatest Golfer Ever
The question on the mind of the golfing fraternity around the world is: Is Tiger Woods the greatest
golf player of all–time? My strong opinion is definitely not. There are many reasons for myself
adopting this point of view, and these include the fact that Woods has no strong resistance for him to
be closely challenged from winning tournaments by multiple strokes, I feel although Woods is too
inexperienced to be the greatest player of all–time and also the fact that Woods has won comparably
few tournaments compared to greats such as Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan.
There is no doubt in my mind that at the moment, Tiger Woods is the most dominant player ever, but

At the moment, Woods nearest rivals are Ernie Els and David Duval, but it seems that every
tournament that Woods participates in he beats the field by double figures. Maybe, if a major
contender appears in the near future, and if Woods pulls through the struggle like a true champion,
well maybe then he can be judged as the greatest player of all–time.
At the young age of 24, I, along with many golf enthusiasts, believe that Woods is far too young to
be remembered as the greatest player ever. Tiger must first show a tremendous amount of staying
power and show spectators his full potential for the game in order to gain my vote. "The Golden
Bear" had a long–standing career which spanned from his first major victory in 1963, to the 2000
British Open where he eventually retired. Woods on the other hand, turned professional in late 1996,
which means that he has been playing on the professional tour for barely four years. If Woods shows
first–class staying power like his predecessors as well as revealing to the public his full potential for
the game, I would then deem him to be the best golf player ever.
Due to the young age and inexperience of Tiger Woods, he has only achieved victory in 26
tournaments, of which four of those are major championships. This caliber of results is an extreme
rarity, but he has still won relatively few tournaments compared to Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus won an

Tiger Woods was born with the name Eldrick Woods on December 30, 1975, in Orlando, Florida.
Early on, Tiger's parents, Earl and Kultilda Woods, introduced their only child to the sport he has
come to dominate, giving him a sawed–off putter to practice with as soon as he could stand up on
his own. At the age of 8, he won the first of six Optimist International Junior World Titles. After
perhaps the most remarkable amateur career ever–he won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships

He also shattered the previous single season winnings record by nearly $3 million, making him the

True to form, Woods only got better in 2000, when he capped off an impressive first half of the year
by winning his third major, the 2000 U.S. Open, in Pebble Beach, California. The No.1–ranked
player in the world, Woods outclassed the competition by a record margin, winning the tournament
by 15 strokes and breaking the standard for a major tournament set by Tom Morris at the 1862
British Open. In July 2000, Woods won the British Open, becoming––at 24––the youngest player
ever to win all four major titles: the PGA Championship, the Masters, the U.S. Open, and the British
Open. A month later, he successfully defended his 1999 title at the PGA Championship in a playoff
victory, becoming only the second player (after Ben Hogan in 1953) to win three major titles in one
year. He won the Canadian Open, his fifth tournament of the summer (out of the seven that he
played), in September.
Off the links, Woods was involved in a lengthy controversy in 2000 regarding his filming of a Buick

There are four major championships every year in golf, they are The Masters, The U.S. Open, The
British Open (commonly referred to as The Open), and The PGA Championship. The first example
of this is Jordan Spieth. Jordan, a once great novice golfer, really changed his career in the year
2015. In 2015, Spieth was a two time major champion, winning both The Masters and the U.S.
Open, bringing his world ranking up to number one, but currently has dropped to number four, this
drop in rankings is caused by his propensity to beat himself up mentally on the course. The 23 year
old quickly established himself as one of the greatest golfers since Tiger Woods broke onto the tour,
and has a bright future looking forward, but his major victories brought him to his status today. The
second example is Jason Day who is currently ranked number one. Jason is a one–time major
champion, winning the PGA championship in 2015. After Jason Day won this major he immediately
rose in the rankings to world number one, knocking Jordan right out of that number one spot. The
final example of this is Dustin Johnson. Dustin just recently in 2016 took home his first career major
victory, winning the U.S. Open. After his win at the U.S. Open his ranking rose up to number two,
hopping right over the number three spot. This is why it is important to be a major champion,

To become an accomplished athlete do you really need to practice for 10,000 hours? In Gladwell's
Outlier's book, he describes the need of people that become experts in their chosen areas to devote
10,000 hours of practice time to achieve that goal. As a high school golfer, I devote several hours a
day during the school year to practicing golf. In the summer, I put in more hours. In an article from
protourgolfcollege.com, it states, "To practice your golf stroke correctly 100 times is helpful; to
practice it 1000 times is game changing. To practice it 10,000 times is life changing." The article

What made golf so difficult back then was the poorly designed and constructed clubs and balls. The
balls were made of greatly compressed feathers wrapped with horse hide, which could only be hit

Why The Golf Industry Helps Increase Participation Essay
Just a decade ago, it looked like the golf industry had the world at its feet. Interest in the game was
surging, and consumers snapped up equipment and booked tee times. These days, though, the sport
is caught in an extreme decline. Golf is losing more players than it 's gaining, as 4.1 million people
left the sport outpacing the 3.7 million who picked it up last year. With an overall decline in the
number of players, that 's causing a ripple effect in the golfing world: Sales of clubs and other
equipment are plunging, while some courses are pulling up their tees and calling it a day. This Case
Study will look into the reasons why the Golf Industry declined and how the Golf Industry is
working to increase participation.
I. Golf A. History
Almost all modern sports have origins in earlier games, as far back as thousands of years golf is no
different. Most modern games then eventually developed into a more recognizable version in the last
200 years or so. Golf differs from its sporting counterparts. In its early days, Scottish Kings – James
II and James IV – actually outlawed the game, believing the popularity of the sport conflicted with
military training. However, King James IV himself became enamored with the sport by the 1500s,
and in the early 1500s, in a short peace with England, the game became popular there as well,
though when the two countries were back at war with each other, golf receded in England again.
When James VI of Scotland took the

Moore Vs Angel Mccoughtry
Many WNBA fans have their favorite player that they enjoy watching and also that they think is the
best to ever play. In my opinion it boils down to two players: Maya Moore and Angel McCoughtry.
Maya Moore and Angel McCoughtry are both considered legends in the WNBA making a huge
impact every time they step on the court. Who is the better player you may ask yourself? Maya
Moore is the superior player in all aspects of the game of basketball over Angel McCoughtry. Maya
Moore is a better defensive player, offensive player, and also has a more successful career than
Angel McCoughtry. Maya Moore and Angel McCoughtry are strong defensive presences during
games by making blocks that make a huge impression. Maya Moore is the better defensive player ...

Maya Moore's exceptional offensive mind makes her a better offensive player than McCoughtry.
Maya commands the offense during the game by reading what the defense is doing, whether it is
attacking the basket, getting an open shot from mid–range, or giving the pass to an open player
where she averages three point five assists per game. Maya also goes after her own rebound and is
relentless in getting the board. She is constantly moving to the ball, cutting to the basket, and
creating her own shot. She is efficient in transition going strong driving down the court and is
unstoppable going to the basket. She never gives up on the offense and will put the team on her back
in order to win the game. Maya Moore scored forty eight points, the second most points in the
WNBA, against Angel McCoughtry in the 2014 playoffs. Maya Moore also won the game for
Minnesota in the 2015 WNBA finals against Indiana with a three pointer in the last one point seven
seconds of the game. Angel McCoughtry deficiency in seeing the court and the inability to make
opponents play her game makes Moore the offensive player. Angel McCoughtry often gets caught
up on worrying about fouls that were not called, and missing the next play by letting her emotions
cloud her judgment. Angel either settles for the deep shot or drives to the basket but she doesn't
shoot the mid–range shots. McCoughtry averages two point eight assists per game, but forces plays
whether it is passing to players that are not open or forcing the shot that is not there leading to a
turnover. Michael Cooper, the Atlanta Dream's coach made the statement, "I won't tolerate
McCoughtry's tendency to abandon plays and settle for bad shots." Angel McCoughtry and Maya
Moore are both known for their scoring; Maya scores twenty point six points and Angel scores
twenty point one points per

Golf: A History Golf often makes people think of boring, old men walking around a huge green
course. This is not always the case. Many different people have been known to enjoy the game of
golf. Where golf came from is bound to surprise some people who think it is just for elderly people.
Golf is very interesting to learn about, including: the history, association's tournaments, women in
golf, and famous players. The history of golf is widely discussed and no one knows for sure where it
came from. It is said to have originated in early Roman eras. Though its origins are uncertain, many
countries have early records of the game. Women have always been excluded in most sports ... Show

The PGA was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The PGA has
both men and women members.
"The PGA Hall of Fame was established in Lake Park, Fla., in 1940. Ten years later a Ladies Golf
Hall of Fame was formed... Zaharias was the first woman named to all four halls of fame. Several
states have halls of fame to honor their native golfers. The Golf House is a library and museum of
golf, which was opened in 1951 at the USGA 's headquarters in New York City but has been located
in Far Hills, N.J. since 1972. It features a large collection of books, trophies, and other mementos."
(Golf Institutions 1–16)
The Ladies Professional Golf Association is the same as the PGA, but for women. "Several
professional tournaments for women were staged during the 1920s and '30s. It was not until the
1940s that efforts began in earnest to form a professional golf organization for women." (The Ladies
Professional Golf Association 5–6) The first, the Women 's Professional Golf Association (WPGA),
was created in 1944. Even the success of its players could not keep the WPGA going and it folded in
1949. The LPGA was incorporated in August 1950 by the old members of the WPGA and more.
Funding for LPGA tournaments was at first so poor that golfers had to perform many of the
organizational tasks and course maintenance chores. Soon, the introduction of the Weathervane
series of tournaments proved

Anti-Intellectualism Why We Hate The Smart Kids Summary
Grant Penrod, a young college student at Arizona State University, shows how rough the "smart
kids" have it, in his essay "Anti–Intellectualism: Why We Hate the Smart Kids." In Penrod's essay,
he shows the reader the cruel and unusual punishment that "smart kids" go through. Penrod uses a
very calm tone of writing but ramps it up with occasional quotes of hate towards these certain
students. Penrod opens up his essay with a story from his senior year in high school, where his
school's football team won the state football championship, and so did most of the school's various
academic teams. When telling this story he went into detail on how much praise the football team
got, and put even more attention to the fact that the championship

Life History Of Siddiqure Rahman

  • 1. Life History of Siddiqure Rahman Prologue: When we think of golf in Bangladesh, the name of Siddiqur Rahman, a prominent golf star of Bangladesh, is pronounced first of all. Siddiqur Rahman had passed his boyhood days through severe hardship. He had a childhood life of struggle and spent his days in utmost misery. Golf in Bangladesh is a game totally for the privileged quarter but glory of Siddikur Rahman can only be termed as a fairy tale. Proving him as was not just a one–match wonder. He had to work extremely hard to climb out of the poverty of his birthplace, Dhamalcoat, a slum–like area in the capital city. He is making a name for himself and for his country on a global stage. It can indeed be termed as a fairytale that a boy from Madaripur, despite all the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was determined competition and only three candidates out of more than 40 were chosen. Among the lucky three was Siddiqur Rahman. After being chosen a sparkling eyed Rahman says "The Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club invited us to represent Bangladesh on October 14, 1999 in Lahore, Pakistan and it was my first international tournament". Out of the three Bangladeshi amateurs to compete in that tournament, Rahman performed the best. He felt really good after that game. It gave him an idea how people played at the international level and he became very confident that he would improve in the future. But playing in tournaments, national or otherwise, requires not only financial solvency because of the expensive equipment involved in it but also time and dedication. All the costs that the team had to bear abroad were being taken care of by the Bangladesh Golf Federation and they continue to back these promising youngsters. Rahman has had a number of awards and his trophies include the Champion trophy of the 2001 Bangladesh Open Amateur Tournament sponsored by Partex, becoming the first Bangladeshi to confirm the title. He won in Bangladesh again at the Bangladesh Amateur Tournament in the beginning of 2005, after having been the runner–up the two previous years. In 2003, he became the runner–up at the SAARC Golf Tournament, after having confirmed two championship trophies in 2002 and 2003 in the Dutch–Bangla Pro–Am Championship. • 3. Georgia Football Fans Every year, since what feels like from the beginning of history, Georgia football fans proclaim to every person that pays attention to college football that "we are going to win the national championship this year, I promise." We have all heard it! Now it may just be because I live in the south in SEC Country, but I have had enough hearing that repetitive phrase over and over again. Between the months of early March till late August, if you open your ears wide enough, you will be able to make out the sound of a Georgia fan promising to a friend that The Bulldogs are going to win it all this year. This Georgia football rant about winning the National Championship needs to stop because it is annoying and repetitive, and us students can relate to it because there are many Marist families that call themselves Georgia football fans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It's not going to happen, or it is very unlikely. There are 128 Division 1 football teams in the NCAA, so technically, The Bulldogs have a 1 in 128 chance of winning the title. Let me just say that is not too high; however, every other team has the same chance as they do, but still, the odds are slim and not in their favor. According to Dawg Sports, Georgia will have a great year and "is about to start raking in national championships and become the new Alabama" (Martin). There is a poll on the website that asks how many national championships will Georgia win under Kirby Smart. 6823 people voted, and 28% of voters said Georgia will win at least three or more national championships. The expectations for Georgia fans are just too high, plain and simple. They expect to win the national championship every year just because they acquired a new superstar player. Let me remind you this, football has been proven to be a team sport, and one superstar player cannot make a team worthy of a national championship, especially in today's ... What I have done is to pay careful attention to all the major championships since the early 1990s and have read about most of the others. Sure, it 's kind of nerdy, but I am a historian of golf. Not the greatest historian, or even a historian who has seen very many of the great shots with my own eyes; nonetheless, I have developed what I hope are some fair opinions on golf 's greatest surprises. ' He listened to it, and the result is the lowest final round ever shot in a U.S. Open. 4. Jean Van de Velde, 1999 British Open, Carnoustie. Van de Velde is a famous golfer, but not for a good reason. His only contention for a major is clouded by the fact that he triple bogeyed the final hole with a three shot lead. He got into a playoff and lost to Paul Lawrie. Personally, I always played irons off the tee in similar positions after watching this painful debacle. 3. Bobby Jones, 1930 (all majors). One of the greatest legends in the game, Jones completed the only recorded 'grand slam '; he won all four of golf 's majors in the same year. Albeit, the majors included the British and U.S. Amateur championships at the time, we can 't fault Jones. It was all that was available to him, and he won. 2. Gene Sarazen, 1935 Masters. Informational Text : Golf 's History Informational Text: Golf Golf, including the history of it, the equipment used, the rules in place, the tournaments held, and the etiquette during gameplay, is unique as a sport itself. To note, this isn't about the code word for the letter g, but it is the actual sport. Golf is a game of precession and focus; your mental state influences the game very much. It is a game basically where you use a club to whack the ball into the hole. Golf is one of the most different sports out there. Golf's History Where is golf's birthplace? Golf was made a global sport when it was made an Olympic sport in 1900. For a few 100 years until now, technology advanced, so golf clubs and balls were modernized, causing more accurate ball flights with more yardage. During this period, many more associations including the PGA (Professional Golf Association) and the WPGA (Ladies PGA) were made. Golf Equipment Unlike other sports, you need a lot more than a ball. You need the clubs, the golf bag, the tees, the ball marker, the balls, and the cleaning supplies. There are four types of clubs– the irons, the wedges, the hybrids, and the putters. For all of the categories except putters and wedges, the higher the number, the more loft the club has. The woods are used from a long distance to the hole. The 1–wood, so called the driver, is the least lofted of the woods and the ball goes the farthest with a swing from it. Irons have a higher loft than woods, allowing more precision on the fairway. • 21. College Football Playoff Rankings Report The latest version of the College Football Playoff rankings has been released. We're one week closer the National Championship, and virtually nothing is any clearer than the previous weeks. The top four teams in the rankings remained unchanged – Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Michigan – and most experts agree that Alabama is a virtual lock to stay at the top. The rest of the party, especially the Big Ten representative (s), is very much up in the air. We'll skip past the Crimson Tide, as they're expected to get past Auburn in the Iron Bowl this weekend and coast through the SEC Championship game. Although, Auburn has won two Iron Bowls since 2010. Ohio State hosts Michigan on Saturday in what could be a play–in game for a spot among the top four playoff teams. With wins over Nebraska and Northwestern in the past two weeks, Wisconsin sits at No. 7 in the college football rankings. With a few weeks left in the regular season, and then conference championship games, there is still plenty of time for the Badgers to make their move. If they win out and win the conference championship game, it will be hard to keep them out, even with two losses. PAC 12 Root For: Washington State, PAC–12 South Champion Washington State plays Washington in the last week of the season, and winning that game would ruin Washington's chances and keep them out of the conference championship game and likely out of the playoff race. If Washington State fails to derail Washington before the conference championship game, then it will be up to the South Division Champion to beat the Huskies in the conference championship. Washington likely will not get into the Playoff without a conference championship, and the South Champion (likely Colorado, USC, or Utah) will have a chance to beat

This question has been debated for years and will continue to be for many years to come. Initially, most people will jump the gun and say Jack Nicklaus is the clear favorite because he has won eighteen major championships compared to Tiger's fourteen. It's quite hard to tell them they are in the wrong considering the major's are what every golfer dreams of winning and are without a doubt the most hard to come by. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Next, I'd like to look the consistency and longevity of these two super athletes. One key statistical edge Tiger has over Jack is total wins. He currently has seventy–nine wins with many years left to add to that number, whereas Jack retired with only seventy–three. He also trumped Nicklaus with his 142 consecutive cuts made, a streak that lasted more than seven years. Nicklaus' best was 105, which sits third on the all time list. However, if being great is more about dominating their opposition rather than just compiling numbers, then again Tiger comes out on top. Tiger has a record setting ten seasons on the PGA Tour in which he won five or more tournaments. Jack sits in third once again with a total of seven. With this being said, it's no surprise Woods has also comprised the most money titles on tour along with the most player of the year awards. Not to mention he has as claimed the most Vardon trophies for the best scoring average on tour. No one can argue the fact that Tiger has been the game's undisputed best player more times than Nicklaus. Woods' most impressive stat would have to be that of the fact that he won twenty–seven percent of the time he competed. This is extremely impressive because Jack only came out the victor twelve percent on the time when he competed. One must take into consideration that Nicklaus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first detail that you will notice is that Johnson sets up with the golf ball lined up significantly off the toe of the club. He does that partially due to his impact position. Then, the next detail you need to look at is his often spoke about grip. You will see that he actually grips the club in a particularly strong position. There are many people who would associate this procedure with a leftward miss. However, there is one important thing that Zach constantly works on, and that it is the fact that he matches his release up to this grip, and other positions up with how he will actually release his club. Some sports were just starting out; others were broadening their horizons, while others were simply becoming more popular. New heroes were emerging in sports, new teams, and even new leagues. Although there were many greats in the 1920s, without a doubt, George "Babe" Ruth was the first and most famous out of all the heroes presented in this time. Ruth changed the whole game of baseball. Ruth was traded to the Yankees from the Red Sox on January 3, 1920 for $125,000. This was more than double the highest price paid for a player. Essay: Can Tiger Woods Become The Best Player Ever Tiger Woods Will Become The Greatest Golfer Ever The question on the mind of the golfing fraternity around the world is: Is Tiger Woods the greatest golf player of all–time? My strong opinion is definitely not. There are many reasons for myself adopting this point of view, and these include the fact that Woods has no strong resistance for him to be closely challenged from winning tournaments by multiple strokes, I feel although Woods is too inexperienced to be the greatest player of all–time and also the fact that Woods has won comparably few tournaments compared to greats such as Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan. At the moment, Woods nearest rivals are Ernie Els and David Duval, but it seems that every tournament that Woods participates in he beats the field by double figures. Maybe, if a major contender appears in the near future, and if Woods pulls through the struggle like a true champion, well maybe then he can be judged as the greatest player of all–time. At the young age of 24, I, along with many golf enthusiasts, believe that Woods is far too young to be remembered as the greatest player ever. Tiger must first show a tremendous amount of staying power and show spectators his full potential for the game in order to gain my vote. "The Golden Bear" had a long–standing career which spanned from his first major victory in 1963, to the 2000 British Open where he eventually retired. Woods on the other hand, turned professional in late 1996, which means that he has been playing on the professional tour for barely four years. If Woods shows first–class staying power like his predecessors as well as revealing to the public his full potential for the game, I would then deem him to be the best golf player ever. Due to the young age and inexperience of Tiger Woods, he has only achieved victory in 26 tournaments, of which four of those are major championships. This caliber of results is an extreme rarity, but he has still won relatively few tournaments compared to Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus won an outstanding one hundred tournaments, which ... In 2015, Spieth was a two time major champion, winning both The Masters and the U.S. Open, bringing his world ranking up to number one, but currently has dropped to number four, this drop in rankings is caused by his propensity to beat himself up mentally on the course. The 23 year old quickly established himself as one of the greatest golfers since Tiger Woods broke onto the tour, and has a bright future looking forward, but his major victories brought him to his status today. The second example is Jason Day who is currently ranked number one. Jason is a one–time major champion, winning the PGA championship in 2015.
