๏ฝ In the 16th- 18th centuries, the Baroque ideas
founded in Rome, Italy began to fan their way out
through all of Europe.
๏ฝ One factor leading to this spread included the newly
acquainted interest in the arts in Paris under Louis
XIV
๏ฝ From the French, the rest of Europe caught on to
this lovely style of art and architecture
3. Two examples of baroque style architecture are the
Trevi Fountain (right) in Rome, Italy and the
Augustusburg Palace (left) in Cologne, Germany.
4. Influence
๏ฝ Baroque style architecture
has had lasting impressions
on famous cities across
Europe. In Rome, almost
every famous
cathedral, museum, sculpture
s, art and theatre is in the
Baroque style. Examples are
St. Peterโs Basilica, Berniniโs
Cornaro chapel and the Trevi
Fountain.
