Nemo In The Film Dory And Marlin
After Nemo was taken Marlin, went after him and the boat. While following the boat Marline ran into a fish named Dory; Dory is a blue tang fish
who has short term memory loss. She helps Marlin to get over his fears of the ocean and to find Nemo. Throughout the movie, Dory and Marlin
encounter sharks, sea turtles, and being swallowed by a whale all while searching for Nemo. Marline and Dory were able to find a scuba mask
pointing them to where Nemo was taken. After Nemo was taken, the dentist put him into a fish tank and Nemo had to make friends with the other fish.
Nemo and the other fish made the tank extremely dirty so everyone could escape; though that plan didn't work. Nemo was able to fake being dead and
escaped the office and the dentist's

Ellen Degeneres Research Paper
"Be Kind to One Another"
"Sometimes you can't see yourself clearly until you see yourself through the eyes of others," says Ellen Degeneres. This is just one of the infamous
Ellen Degeneres quotes that shows her hope for the world. Ellen has used her comedy to spread her infectious laughter and kindness. Throughout the
Leaving a Legacy unit, social movements, historical movements, people, and their legacies have been researched. Ellen Degeneres has become not just
a comedian, but an ambassador of kindness to all.
Following this further, Ellen Lee Degeneres was born in Metairie, Louisiana on January 26, 1958 to Betty and Elliot Degeneres who later divorced
when Ellen was a teenager. At Atlanta high school, she was a tennis and golf starter, graduating in May of 1976. Before comedy, Ellen originally
wanted to be a veterinarian but worked as a waitress, sold vacuum cleaners, and painted houses because she decided she wasn't "book smart"
(Biography.com Editors). She began performing comedy in 1981 with her big debut in 1986 on The Tonight Show with Mr. Carson. Ellen came out

Essay on The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot...
The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot and Alien 3
This essay will be about how women are and have been represented in films in the past and how they are represented nowadays. I will be looking at
the roles and representations of women in 'Some Like It Hot' and 'Alien 3'.
'Some Like It Hot' was made in 1958. Marilyn Monroe starts in the comedy as Sugar Cane who is a very feminine musician. 'Alien 3' on the other hand
was made 40 years after and is a sci–fi horror. Sigourney Weaver is the star of the film and plays the character Lt. Ripley. Unlike Sugar Cane, Lt. Ripley
is a very tough and manly character.
'Some Like It Hot' is about two musicians. They witness a massacre and try to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows that all a woman's ambition is, is to be a wife which represents women to be very shallow and needy. It is ironic that the man Sugar Cane
describes as the one she will never fall for, is the type of man she does fall for.
In the film, Tony Curtis plays Joe who is one of the musicians on the run. When he cross dresses, he becomes Josephine and becomes close with
Sugar. He lures her in and encourages her to confess her dream husband. He then transforms himself into this character called Junior so he can get her.
In the end, when he confesses that he isn't Josephine or Junior, Sugar Cane doesn't get annoyed that she was fooled by him. Instead, she runs away
with him. This portrays Sugar Cane to be a very narrow–minded character that has nothing else on her mind.
There are other representations of women in 'Some Like It Hot'. The two musicians who are on the run have to cross dress as they have got jobs in
an all female band. Tony Curtis plays Josephine and Jack Lemmon plays Daphne. While dressed as women, the two men experience how much women
are discriminated against and used. They react to this by acting how they would expect to women to act and experience yet even more discrimination.
However, their minds don't change in the slightest and both have Sugar Cane on their minds. They both compete to win her heart and both try getting
very close to her as women.

Ellen Foster Essay
Ellen Foster
"When I was little I would think of ways to kill my daddy." [P.1], says eleven
–year–old Ellen. Thus the young narrator begins her life–story, in the
process painting an extraordinary self–portrait. "Ellen Foster" is a powerful story of a young girl growing up in a burdensome world. As one reads this
work presented by Kaye Gibbons, a chill runs down their back. Ellen, the main character is faced with a hard life dealing with endless losses, with the
deaths of both her parents and her grandmother being included. Why would one get a chill you wonder? This individual has thoughts and feelings that
many have never experienced and cannot express. Ellen is merely a child no older then the age of ten but if not knowing this fact, ... Show more content

Her grandmother treats her badly. She acts as if Ellen is to blame for her daughter's death. This is how Ellen describes the beginning of hers' and
her grandmother's relationship, "My mama's mama picked me up in her long car that was like the undertaking car only hers was cream. I told
Roy and Julia on more time I did not need to go. If we have to live together the least you could do is talk to me like you know I am in your car is what
I thought to say to her. I figured she would warm up to me. But all she asked on the way to her house was when does school start again? Lord it
just ended and I sure am looking forward to the summer at your house I said for the icebreaker. I asked you when school starts. I do not need the
commentary is what she said back to me hot. So September. I said September. I said my answer quick and on time like the army way. I saluted in my
head." {P. 61}
Ellen finds a woman at church that takes in orphan girls, but will there be any room for her? Will it just end up being another misunderstanding, like
with her aunt, who was under the assumption that she would just be visiting for a few days. It is Ellen's determination which eventually lands her a
place in a loving home, with loving companionship.
Against all odds, Ellen never gives up her belief that there is a place for her in the world, a home that will satisfy all her longing for love, acceptance,
and order. Her eventual success in finding that

Finding Dory In Disney Pixar
Beloved talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would be reprising her role as the charming yet forgetful fish Dory in Disney Pixar's "Finding Dory"
animated film, and if there's one thing DeGeneres wants fans to learn when watching the long–awaited sequel to "Finding Nemo," then it would have
to be the importance of ocean preservation and valuing the creatures that live in it.
This was what DeGeneres discussed when talking to Yahoo! Movies during the D23 Exposition event held at the Anaheim Convention Center in
Anaheim, California.
"I think that fish should be in the ocean. It's what this whole sequel is about: It's about rehabilitation and putting them back in the ocean ... And we have

Despite his initial dislike of Dory, Marlin soon grows to appreciate Dory's friendship and the two make fantastic strides in finding Nemo. In the sequel,
the story will focus on Dory and her family as the forgetful fish struggles to find her roots.
"Dory is searching for her parents – she realizes she has parents – and comes across some characters who are somewhat helpful," DeGeneres shared.
Some of these characters include Bailey the beluga whale, to be voiced by "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell, an angry octopus named Hank voiced by
another "Modern Family" star Ed O'Neill. Then there is a kind–hearted whale shark named Destiny, who is the adopted sister of Dory, and she will be
voiced by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actress Kaitlin Olson.
Meanwhile, Nemo and his dad Marlin, voiced by Albert Brooks will also return in the sequel, and other stars who will lend their voices in the
animated film include Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, and Idris Elba.
It has been 13 years since "Finding Nemo" hit theaters, but DeGeneres admitted that the hype surrounding the movie still has not died down, with
several of her friends often requesting that the talk show host share her voice as Dory (and her interspecies jabber) to entertain their

Examples Of Psychoanalysis In Alien
C. Psychoanalysis as a political weapon in Alien
i. Male action and female inaction There are two major examples of male activeness and female passiveness in Alien: the chestburster scene and the
differences between Ripley and Dallas as the protagonist. In the iconic chestburster scene the crew are seated peacefully as they prepare to return to
stasis, however this peace is disturbed when Kane convulses and a chestburster bursts out of him. Only the male characters are active in this scene:
Parker and Dallas initially comfort and hold Kane down, Brett holds Kane's legs down, and Ash runs from the other side (farther aways then Ripley
and Lambert) to help. Ripley and Lambert initially reach out towards Kane but eventually watch in horror as the alien bursts from him. Dallas, Parker,
and Brett were closer to Kane than Ripley so they have more reason for helping; and Ash is the science officer so it makes sense for him to rush
towards a medical emergency. Switching one of the male characters with a female character could have expounded on the seriousness of the scene
(before the arrival of the chestburster).
While subtle, the difference between the actions taken by Dallas and Ripley exemplify the heterosexual differences in labor. Dallas' protagonist is
constantly in motion: investigating the signal, defending Ripley from the dead facehugger, and hunting the alien in the vents. Ripley's actions as
protagonist are less active, especially since she follows Dallas' vent plan and

Challenges Facing International Students
Most international students happen to have some major and minor struggles when they come to the USA. People from different countries usually have
different background, different thoughts, different culture. Therefore, international students who come to the USA, tend to struggle with some
problems. The three most important challenges international students face can be categorized into three groups: emotional challenges such as culture
shock and homesick, social challenges, and academic challenges. The emotional struggles that international students have are homesickness and culture
shock. According to Ivan Sekyonda from Uganda, he appreciates the school faculties for helping him with going through homesickness and culture
shock (Sewall, p. 127). Students from different countries happen to have trouble adapting to American culture that is more liberal. This inability of
getting along with American culture due to culture difference causes homesickness which makes students want to go back home. Many international
students seem to not enjoy their first year in America for such problems. The social challenges that international students face include international
students only relating to other international students. According to Macalester College, a group of Chinese students were already bonded altogether
within themselves even before they came to the campus (Fischer, p. 100). Usually, American students find other students, who are planning go to the

Breast Feeding Persuasive Speech
One issue I would like to change today is breast feeding. I think it should be normalized. Yes, women today have many benefits, thanks to our
ancestors but I think this is an important issue today for several women. How is it fair that we have spots dedicated to smokers but don't have a place
where a woman can feel secure while acting on a natural habit such as breast feeding her infant? Society is full of harsh hypocrites. It's ok for
woman to be braless wearing a tight shirt with her nipples poking through them but it's wrong for a woman to nurse her child? If it was up to me I

Why would you want to just have a moment for life when our children have a long life ahead of them? They don't need a moment for life,
symbolically this means to live a short period. According to the latest World

The clothes she wears to show off her curvaceous body affects what young girls are wearing today. They're getting the wrong attention and shouldn't

Analysis Of Julio Cortazar's Short Story 'Axolotl'
In Julio Cortazar's short story, Axolotl, the young man is searching for answers to his life. He finds these answers in the small, Mexican salamander
trapped within its enclosure at the Jardin. The axolotl challenges the young man to see the simplicity behind the mysterious guise of the small
amphibian. The young man's daily visits to the Jardin only make the appeal of the axolotls greater. In those visits he begins to see not only the creatures
simplicity, but also their neotenous tendencies and connection to death; all of which contribute to his association and union with them. Although he is
a "friend of lions and panthers," his usual draw to nature is lacking. He finds himself unsatiated until the axolotl exhibit catches his eye.... Show more

Simplicity is an integral part of the young man's union with the axolotl. But the simple creature the man comes to know and admire could not be
without its neotenous characteristics. As the salamander grows it never reaches adulthood and seemingly never ages. In this feature of the axolotl,
the young man comes to the realization that death is a part of life for all men. He is scared of facing aging and dying, unsure how to react or feel
about the unknown, and wants to avoid the question that all men hate to face. Looking to the axolotl for answers, he gets a paradoxical result. The
animal that never ages, the animal he transforms into to escape the question of death, is a representation of death. The axolotl is lonely, immobile,
seemingly lacking life, inexpressive, and unable to communicate, all things we associate with death. Somethings cannot be understood until you have
personally faced the trials yourself. No living man has experienced dying, but all have experienced death. Similarly, the young man cannot truly
begin to know what it is like to be the caged axolotl until he has been there. All his insecurities as a human disappear and his life as a simple axolotl
begins. At last the young man can feel what the axolotls feel. All human understanding vanishes like dust in the wind. He stands still like all axolotls
do, a prisoner looking for a purpose. The young man can see now that the axolotls have devoured his humanity.

As human beings the vast majority of us wish we could change the world, whether that be helping humans, animals, the environment, it is helping those
that cannot help themselves. However, we also realize to help with these causes it takes money and for the most part a great deal of it. But, some
people are fortunate enough and can help change the lives of many. That is whatEllen DeGeneres has done with her leadership skills, guidance,
celebrity status and wealth. Through her kind heart and passion for the social good she does everything she can to make the world a better place. It
is true that money can certainly help in spanning social good, however, multiple pennies can also impact those in need. Social good is something that
anyone can do. It is not about celebrity status or being a millionaire. Social good is about feeling good about helping others when they are in need. It
is about creating a sense of connectedness to humanity and being humble all the while influencing those that follow you. This is what Ellen

Ellen Degeneres
Ellen Degeneres is known for making one of the biggest changes in the world. Ellen among other several other people fought for what they believed
was right. They were fighting for freedom of the same sex marriage, transgender issues and bisexuality issues in the world. We should care about this
topic because everybody should have the right to marry or be with the one person they love and we don't have to be all judgmental about it, we have
to be supportive to these people. Ellen Degeneres is a very inspiring person in my life because she stood up for what she loved, she fought with people
among her to fight for what they believed was right and she also helped people understand, especially kids that being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or
transgender wasn't such a bad thing.
Ellen is a very big risk taker, but also really brave to speak the truth that most people see as lies, just for whom she loves. In 1997, Ellen came out as

encouraging Marlin (Albert Brooks), Nemo's dad to keep going, no matter what the complications are! Thus, Dory has been viewed as a strong
character of self–determination, who once makes up her mind, tends to achieve her goal. Despite her short–term memory loss, Dory (Ellen DeGeneres)
is determined to reunite with her family no matter what the obstacles in Finding Dory (2016). Dory's personality is one of the most memorable
characteristics of any Disney character which will be remembered for years to come. Her attitude towards life shows that people should give
others time to express themselves and not judge immediately on the basis of their character and appearance. Dory's friendly attitude is shown
when she meets Hank (Ed O'Neill) who is a color changing octopus trying to flee from the Marine Life Institute which is located in Morro Bay,
California and wants to retire to an aquarium life in Cleveland, Ohio. Dory does not get scared or judge Hank on basis of his looks, but instead
greets him in a friendly manner and says "Oh, thank goodness. Hi, I'm Dory." Another instance of Dory's friendly personality is when she makes a
deal with Hank that she will give him her identification tag if he takes her to the tank where her parents are living. When Hank takes Dory to the
Open Ocean exhibit, which is where she remembers that she lived with her parents, he takes her to the top of the tank and the camera zooms in on
Dory exchanging the tag to Hank and tells him in heartfelt tone "I think I'm gonna remember you." Her welcoming nature is one of her key attributes
in the animated film and it helps her, make her goal a reality. Her absent–minded personality hurts her when she tries to remember, where her parents
would be. Her poor memory is shown when she tries to recall what exhibit to go into and Hank believes that her forgetfulness is such a good and not
bad thing when he says, "You're lucky. No memories. No

Medical Shows, Scrubs and Greys Anatomy Stand Above the Rest
There are two medical television series that stand above most others. These two shows put an emphasis on their personal, rather than professional lives.
Bill Lawrence's television series Scrubs and Shonda Rhime's television series Greys Anatomy share the theme of competition, Greys Anatomy is better
because of Shonda Rhime's use of character, point of view, and conflict.
Scrubs main character is John Dorian or J.D played by Zach Braff. Greys Anatomy main character is Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo. They

Conflict is an opposing force that faces a main character. It is needed in every series so that the characters can grow and change. The two main types
of conflict are external and internal. What is unique about both medical series is that they feature both types of conflict. They show the internal
conflicts and struggles among the characters and the external conflicts of nature and their colleagues. J.D. is in a constant battle with his mentor
Dr.Cox and the janitor. He has a bromance with Chris Turk he best friend and an on and off romantic relationship with Elliot Reid. J.D. fantasizes
about what could happen; good or bad. His daydreams are often his personal thoughts and feelings in the particular situations. This series is a high
energy comedy. Meredith Grey has a constant need to live up to her famous surgeon mother's reputation. Meredith questions her abilities as a doctor
because of her mother's lack of support. Despite her lack of confidence Meredith always steps up to the challenges at work. She also suffers from many
external conflicts that force her character to make internal choices and changes. To make these changes she has help from the other interns and her
future husband Dr.Shepherd. Meredith's constant conflict with herself and others creates drama which maintains viewer's attention and interest.

one that they desire to be. She does not believe that race, religion, nor sexuality affects a person. She believes in freedom and equal rights for everyone.
Ellen also demonstrates many leadership qualities, such as, perseverance, positivity, decisive, and most of all inspirational, proving that one person can
truly change someone else's life. She tells her story, starting from her childhood in Louisiana and Texas to being one of the most recognizable faces on

Summary Of Will Storr's Visit To Past Life
In the previous chapter, Will Storr visited a Past–Life Regression therapist who essentially opened the floodgates of his mind. This inspired his
decision to take some time in the Blue Mountains of Australia to meditate in this chapter. While he intended to enroll in the Vipassana Meditation
Center's meditation session purely for the purpose of a 'mental retreat,' Storr quickly discovered that it was also a physically taxing experience. He got
so into his own zone that he found himself unable to help others who were more obviously struggling alongside him. This lead him to wonder about the
origin and function of cognitive dissonance – why do we feel one thing and say or do another? He cited many psychological experiments before

For example, people in the study believed they were more likely to win the lottery if they chose the numbers versus having the numbers randomly
generated. Assuming that the individual choosing the numbers knows no more about the winning sequence than the random generator, then this notion
is illogical. Choosing is as arbitrary by a person as a random generator – the only difference is that people often choose numbers with sentimental
value, such as a birthday, anniversary, or favorite number. However, in this particular instance, people felt that their odds were increased when they
chose the numbers despite no apparent logical reason to think so – ergo, the illusion of control (Sanger). It is important to note that the illusion of
control had no measurable effect in this scenario – whether people chose their numbers or not, their odds did not change. I think this implies that even
when we are able to achieve unity between our 'interior' and 'exterior' selves, some things are simply out of our self's reach. Sometimes, other factors
are simply too powerful to ignore; consequently, they are given control. Is it not possible that this could relate to the disconnect we feel between our

Lifting The Veil Of Ignorance : A Monument To Booker T. Ross?
Lawrence Sullivan "Sul" Ross (1918) is a life–size bronze sculpture created by Pompeo Coppini and is currently on display at Texas A&M University.
This sculpture features the life–size figure of a very distinguished gentleman, standing diligently on top of a stair–like pedestal. The man is facing
outwards with a composed expression as though readying himself for action against a great undertaking, evoking a sense of respect from the viewer
who is unable to see this challenge just yet. Charles Keck also produced a life–size bronze sculpture on a university campus. Lifting the Veil of
Ignorance: A Monument toBooker T. Washington(1922) can be found at Tuskegee University. Unlike Coppini's work, Keck's sculpture contains two
figures, one man hunched down underneath a draping veil while another, more distinguished man is opening his arms to assist in removing the veil
from behind. The two figures generate a great contrast with one another through multiple elements such as the clothing and poses to emphasize the
sculpture's purpose for the statue. While Coppini works with formal elements to impress a sense of awe for the figure–Lawrence Sullivan Ross–Keck
uses the same formal elements: form, line, and composition, to instill a slightly different sense of respect for his figure, Booker T. Washington, and his
actions during his lifetime.

She is regarded as an idol among young actresses and actors who are also members of the LGBT. Her announcement generated a huge media storm in
Canada, Europe and America. Some of her fans wrote supportive emails and letters in solidarity with her sexuality choice. Ellen DeGeneres regards
1997–98 as the lowest point in her career. Reviews and ratings of her show took a nose dive because her sexuality was the epic center of the
subsequent episodes. At some point, a subsidiary of ABC in Birmingham declined to air the episode when she declared her sexual orientation. Some
of the corporations withdrew their sponsorships of her show for fear of being linked to her controversy. Ellen DeGeneres changed America's
television industry by coming out as gay (Tauber & Jordan, 2003). She managed to convince the American society that entertainers too should have
freedom to choose their preferred sexual orientation. Most scholars agree that Ellen DeGeneres created precedence as the first lead actress to announce
that she is a member of LGBT on national television. Soon after her announcement it became a norm for actress, singers, comedians, and actors to
come out of the closet despite the fact that most Americans marginalize members of LGBT. Most advertisers in her show cancelled their commitment
contracts for fear of offending Americans. The show was later cancelled due to heavy criticism from viewers

Example Of A Talk Show
Defining what talk shows are can be a very challenging task. The OED defines the talk show as following:
"A chat show, especially one in which listeners, viewers, or the studio audience are invited to participate in the discussion." (OED)
However, talk shows have become very popular in recent times and represent a rapidly changing hybrid media phenomena. According to Ilie, "they
display intertextuality through overlaps with other mediatized forms of talk, and they endlessly reconstruct themselves by violating and transgressing
their own discursive conventions." (2006:489). Talk shows do not represent only one form of communication and social behavior, but they use
different ways to converse and interview their guests. More than one type of discourse is used within talk shows. Many talk shows combine different
discourses such as the discourses used in debates, game shows, debates, interviews and quiz shows (cf. Ilie, 2006:489). It is ... Show more content on

Ellen Foster : An Adult Who Will Never Give Up On Them
"Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become
the best they can possibly be" (Pierson). Kaye Gibbons' novel, Ellen Foster, recounts the journey of a young girl who is actively searching for her
champion; someone who will take her in and love her as their own. She does this while also interjecting the experiences she has with her new family.
Born as Bertha Kaye Batts in 1960, Kaye Gibbons was the child of a farmer and grew up poor (Disheroon–Green). Her first novel, Ellen Foster, began
as poem that eventually grew into something much greater ("Kaye Gibbons"). After the novel published in 1987, Gibbons won two literary awards, the
Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction and a citation from the Ernest Hemingway Foundation ("Overview: Ellen Foster"). Despite being reluctant about
revealing the real drive behind Ellen Foster, Kaye Gibbons opened up to the media. Ellen's character was inspired by Kaye Gibbons herself. Her
mother's suicide at ten years old, an abusive and alcoholic father, and the placements with family members were characteristics passed on to Ellen
Foster (Telgen and Hile). Aside from creating a novel from the perspective of a young girl and the tribulations that she experiences, Kaye Gibbons also
focuses on specific themes throughout the novel. The main themes that Kaye Gibbons elaborates on in her novel Ellen Foster are independence, trust,

My Very Good Friend From High School, Maeleigh, And Her...
I interviewed my very good friend from high school, Maeleigh, and her recent girlfriend, Anna. Maeleigh and Anna have completely different
"coming out" stories at this point in their lives. Growing up with Maeleigh, I was able to see how her life was affected by being gay. I know more
about her lifestyle and story than most would and it was difficult for her to figure herself out. Mae was very confused and distraught as she got older
and she started to realize she was not the so called "normal" little girl. She had to learn to except herself before she could tell anyone or most
importantly come out to her parents. As for Anna, I have no personal ties to her. Maeleigh met Anna this year at school; they both attend Manchester
University and play on the softball team. They eventually got together and developed a relationship. Everything between the two is new and they are
learning more about each others stories and how they dealt with coming out. Coming out is one of the most difficult aspects of being a lesbian. They
have spent an extreme amount of time playing out in their minds how to tell this news to their parents. The scariest part, both have said, would have
to be the thought of being rejected by their families. Maeleigh had known she was different from everyone since she was in 5th grade. She began to
find herself having crushes on girls rather than boys. She said in 5th grade she was terrified, not knowing why she felt this way. Not knowing the

conquering your fears. The first scene in Finding Nemo, the audience sees Marlin and his wife admiring their soon–to–be babies when suddenly the
scene turns dark. The music in the film stops, along with all sounds of ocean life. Dark shadows are created in the film to fill the audience with fear

The Network Of A Network
A network is a support system that can be used to make connections and provide you with future opportunities. Networks can be a positive thing
because they allow access to great business opportunities, give you access to information or future clients and increases communication. For
women though we are still experiencing gender inequality in the work place. Women have less opportunity for promotion in the work place and
still face a pay gap. The purpose of Stiletto Networks is women making their voices heard in the business world. Stiletto Networks work to improve
women's lives, their communities and companies they are involved in. They also focus on women being able to become the biggest and bravest
version of themselves. They also provide opportunities for women to network in gatherings such as dinner events, salon events and other social
places. It provides women with a sense of comfort knowing there are other women out there who want their voice heard in the business world. The
name of my Stiletto Network is Women with a Purpose. I chose this name because I think as a network we can encourage other women to not be
afraid to have a voice, take a stand and change the world. The significance of the name that I have created for my network is that it is built around a
group of women, who I believe work to empower other women each and every day. The five women I have selected to serve as my Board of Directors

Analysis Of Aliens By James Cameron
It takes absolute courage to stare death in the face, stand and fight, especially when death has no actual face. Aliens, written and directed by James
Cameron, follows a former pilot, a group of marines and a corporate stiff as they go to investigate why they have lost communication with a colony of
people on a planet that the corporation is trying to develop an atmosphere on. The investigation soon turns into a fight for survival and escape, as the
colony has been overrun by aliens and is now their breeding grounds. Ellen Ripley, who is played by Sigourney Weaver, is the advisor to the expedition,
but quickly becomes the group's anointed leader. Ripley was recovered by a team, who found her in a state of hibernation, after she had to blow up her
ship, because an alien got on board and killed her entire crew. She had been adrift for almost sixty years in a shuttle pod. When they got her back to
the base, she had these reoccurring nightmares about the alien, such like it ripping out of her body. At first, the company didn't believe her about the
alien when they debriefed her, but when they lost contact with the colony they asked her to go with the marines, due to her experience with the
creature. When Ripley and her team arrived on the planet, they found one survivor, a little girl, named Newt, played by Carrie Henn. Ripley develops

Comparison Between Macbeth And Romeo And Juliet
In both Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare presents to the audience impressive female characters. These women were bravely defiant in the
patriarchal society of the 16th century in which they lived. Lady Macbeth embraced the fight for power, which was conventionally thought as a man's
deed: Juliet spoke and acted against male authority. Her father's expectation for her marriage and fate was for Juliet, unbearable. Such rejection and
rebellion against male supremacy was not only highly dangerous to women, but it also definitely shook the stability of patriarchal dominance.
Callaghan (1989) suggested that, under a significant 'religious influence', Renaissance society was 'profoundly hierarchal' , ranking society members in
the following order: God, monarch, men, and women. Therefore, it was compulsory for women to submissively consider themselves as silent and

the smell of the blood still. All the perfumes/of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand..." Her mental state was completely crushed by the sense of guilt
and she exposed herself as being powerless and unprotected, thus arousing the audience's sympathy. Even though she was a strong and smart woman, it
did not change the fact that she was indeed only a woman. Through out history, the fight over the throne has been a game mainly for men. Therefore it

They are all trying to reach the goal of becoming a surgical resident in the hospital, which is the highest position in the surgical field other than the
Chief of Surgery. During their climb to the top, they all experience dramatic moments during the show. For example, Izzie falls in love with a
patient at Seattle Grace and breaks a lot of rules to save his life. This ended Izzie's internship and the patient ended up dying. During these scenes,
Izzie was acting crazy, and she was devastated when the patient died. The way that Izzie was portrayed was not fair and mean. Shonda made her
look like she was actually crazy, but she was not. She was acting the way any normal person would act when a loved one dies. Many people did not
like Izzie after that scene because of the way that she acted when her patient died. Another example of a dramatic moment is when Meredith's
husband, Derek, got into a car crash and died. This was the turning point for the whole show because Derek was another main character. The morning
of his death date he stopped on his way to work and helped some people who were in a car accident. He called the ambulance, and they got it taken
care of.

Nemo In The Film Dory And Marlin

  • 1. Nemo In The Film Dory And Marlin After Nemo was taken Marlin, went after him and the boat. While following the boat Marline ran into a fish named Dory; Dory is a blue tang fish who has short term memory loss. She helps Marlin to get over his fears of the ocean and to find Nemo. Throughout the movie, Dory and Marlin encounter sharks, sea turtles, and being swallowed by a whale all while searching for Nemo. Marline and Dory were able to find a scuba mask pointing them to where Nemo was taken. After Nemo was taken, the dentist put him into a fish tank and Nemo had to make friends with the other fish. Nemo and the other fish made the tank extremely dirty so everyone could escape; though that plan didn't work. Nemo was able to fake being dead and escaped the office and the dentist's ... • 2. Ellen Degeneres Research Paper "Be Kind to One Another" "Sometimes you can't see yourself clearly until you see yourself through the eyes of others," says Ellen Degeneres. This is just one of the infamous Ellen Degeneres quotes that shows her hope for the world. Ellen has used her comedy to spread her infectious laughter and kindness. Throughout the Leaving a Legacy unit, social movements, historical movements, people, and their legacies have been researched. Ellen Degeneres has become not just a comedian, but an ambassador of kindness to all. Following this further, Ellen Lee Degeneres was born in Metairie, Louisiana on January 26, 1958 to Betty and Elliot Degeneres who later divorced when Ellen was a teenager. At Atlanta high school, she was a tennis and golf starter, graduating in May of 1976. Before comedy, Ellen originally wanted to be a veterinarian but worked as a waitress, sold vacuum cleaners, and painted houses because she decided she wasn't "book smart" (Biography.com Editors). She began performing comedy in 1981 with her big debut in 1986 on The Tonight Show with Mr. Carson. Ellen came out to the world on a TIME magazine cover in 1997 and married girlfriend Portia de Rossi in 2008. This Louisiana native ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ellen's career only escalated from here, she starred in Mr. Wrong, Goodbye Lover, Ed TV, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, and her own show– The Ellen Degeneres Show. She is a published author of six books including My Point...and Do I Have One. Ellen has received many awards such as the Mark Twain Prize of American Humor, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the face of Covergirl (2009) and even the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama. • 3. Essay on The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot... The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot and Alien 3 This essay will be about how women are and have been represented in films in the past and how they are represented nowadays. I will be looking at the roles and representations of women in 'Some Like It Hot' and 'Alien 3'. 'Some Like It Hot' was made in 1958. Marilyn Monroe starts in the comedy as Sugar Cane who is a very feminine musician. 'Alien 3' on the other hand was made 40 years after and is a sci–fi horror. Sigourney Weaver is the star of the film and plays the character Lt. Ripley. Unlike Sugar Cane, Lt. Ripley is a very tough and manly character. 'Some Like It Hot' is about two musicians. They witness a massacre and try to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This shows that all a woman's ambition is, is to be a wife which represents women to be very shallow and needy. It is ironic that the man Sugar Cane describes as the one she will never fall for, is the type of man she does fall for. In the film, Tony Curtis plays Joe who is one of the musicians on the run. When he cross dresses, he becomes Josephine and becomes close with Sugar. He lures her in and encourages her to confess her dream husband. He then transforms himself into this character called Junior so he can get her. In the end, when he confesses that he isn't Josephine or Junior, Sugar Cane doesn't get annoyed that she was fooled by him. Instead, she runs away with him. This portrays Sugar Cane to be a very narrow–minded character that has nothing else on her mind. There are other representations of women in 'Some Like It Hot'. The two musicians who are on the run have to cross dress as they have got jobs in an all female band. Tony Curtis plays Josephine and Jack Lemmon plays Daphne. While dressed as women, the two men experience how much women are discriminated against and used. They react to this by acting how they would expect to women to act and experience yet even more discrimination. However, their minds don't change in the slightest and both have Sugar Cane on their minds. They both compete to win her heart and both try getting very close to her as women. An

Thus the young narrator begins her life–story, in the process painting an extraordinary self–portrait. "Ellen Foster" is a powerful story of a young girl growing up in a burdensome world. As one reads this work presented by Kaye Gibbons, a chill runs down their back. Ellen, the main character is faced with a hard life dealing with endless losses, with the deaths of both her parents and her grandmother being included. Why would one get a chill you wonder? This individual has thoughts and feelings that many have never experienced and cannot express. Ellen is merely a child no older then the age of ten but if not knowing this fact, ... This is how Ellen describes the beginning of hers' and her grandmother's relationship, "My mama's mama picked me up in her long car that was like the undertaking car only hers was cream. I told Roy and Julia on more time I did not need to go. If we have to live together the least you could do is talk to me like you know I am in your car is what I thought to say to her. I figured she would warm up to me. But all she asked on the way to her house was when does school start again? Lord it just ended and I sure am looking forward to the summer at your house I said for the icebreaker. I asked you when school starts. I do not need the commentary is what she said back to me hot. So September. I said September. I said my answer quick and on time like the army way. I saluted in my head." {P. 61} Ellen finds a woman at church that takes in orphan girls, but will there be any room for her? Will it just end up being another misunderstanding, like with her aunt, who was under the assumption that she would just be visiting for a few days. It is Ellen's determination which eventually lands her a place in a loving home, with loving companionship. Against all odds, Ellen never gives up her belief that there is a place for her in the world, a home that will satisfy all her longing for love, acceptance, and order. • 6. Finding Dory In Disney Pixar Beloved talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would be reprising her role as the charming yet forgetful fish Dory in Disney Pixar's "Finding Dory" animated film, and if there's one thing DeGeneres wants fans to learn when watching the long–awaited sequel to "Finding Nemo," then it would have to be the importance of ocean preservation and valuing the creatures that live in it. This was what DeGeneres discussed when talking to Yahoo! Movies during the D23 Exposition event held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. "I think that fish should be in the ocean. It's what this whole sequel is about: It's about rehabilitation and putting them back in the ocean ... And we have to protect our oceans. Despite his initial dislike of Dory, Marlin soon grows to appreciate Dory's friendship and the two make fantastic strides in finding Nemo. In the sequel, the story will focus on Dory and her family as the forgetful fish struggles to find her roots. "Dory is searching for her parents – she realizes she has parents – and comes across some characters who are somewhat helpful," DeGeneres shared. Some of these characters include Bailey the beluga whale, to be voiced by "Modern Family" star Ty Burrell, an angry octopus named Hank voiced by another "Modern Family" star Ed O'Neill. Then there is a kind–hearted whale shark named Destiny, who is the adopted sister of Dory, and she will be voiced by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actress Kaitlin Olson. Meanwhile, Nemo and his dad Marlin, voiced by Albert Brooks will also return in the sequel, and other stars who will lend their voices in the animated film include Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, and Idris Elba. It has been 13 years since "Finding Nemo" hit theaters, but DeGeneres admitted that the hype surrounding the movie still has not died down, with several of her friends often requesting that the talk show host share her voice as Dory (and her interspecies jabber) to entertain their ... • 7. Examples Of Psychoanalysis In Alien C. Psychoanalysis as a political weapon in Alien i. Male action and female inaction There are two major examples of male activeness and female passiveness in Alien: the chestburster scene and the differences between Ripley and Dallas as the protagonist. In the iconic chestburster scene the crew are seated peacefully as they prepare to return to stasis, however this peace is disturbed when Kane convulses and a chestburster bursts out of him. Only the male characters are active in this scene: Parker and Dallas initially comfort and hold Kane down, Brett holds Kane's legs down, and Ash runs from the other side (farther aways then Ripley and Lambert) to help. Ripley and Lambert initially reach out towards Kane but eventually watch in horror as the alien bursts from him. Dallas, Parker, and Brett were closer to Kane than Ripley so they have more reason for helping; and Ash is the science officer so it makes sense for him to rush towards a medical emergency. Switching one of the male characters with a female character could have expounded on the seriousness of the scene (before the arrival of the chestburster). While subtle, the difference between the actions taken by Dallas and Ripley exemplify the heterosexual differences in labor. Dallas' protagonist is constantly in motion: investigating the signal, defending Ripley from the dead facehugger, and hunting the alien in the vents. Ripley's actions as protagonist are less active, especially since she follows Dallas' vent plan and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Challenges Facing International Students Most international students happen to have some major and minor struggles when they come to the USA. People from different countries usually have different background, different thoughts, different culture. Therefore, international students who come to the USA, tend to struggle with some problems. The three most important challenges international students face can be categorized into three groups: emotional challenges such as culture shock and homesick, social challenges, and academic challenges. The emotional struggles that international students have are homesickness and culture shock. According to Ivan Sekyonda from Uganda, he appreciates the school faculties for helping him with going through homesickness and culture shock (Sewall, p. 127). Students from different countries happen to have trouble adapting to American culture that is more liberal. This inability of getting along with American culture due to culture difference causes homesickness which makes students want to go back home. Many international students seem to not enjoy their first year in America for such problems. The social challenges that international students face include international students only relating to other international students. According to Macalester College, a group of Chinese students were already bonded altogether within themselves even before they came to the campus (Fischer, p. 100). Usually, American students find other students, who are planning go to the same school, on social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yes, women today have many benefits, thanks to our ancestors but I think this is an important issue today for several women. How is it fair that we have spots dedicated to smokers but don't have a place where a woman can feel secure while acting on a natural habit such as breast feeding her infant? • 18. Analysis Of Julio Cortazar's Short Story 'Axolotl' In Julio Cortazar's short story, Axolotl, the young man is searching for answers to his life. He finds these answers in the small, Mexican salamander trapped within its enclosure at the Jardin. The axolotl challenges the young man to see the simplicity behind the mysterious guise of the small amphibian. The young man's daily visits to the Jardin only make the appeal of the axolotls greater. In those visits he begins to see not only the creatures simplicity, but also their neotenous tendencies and connection to death; all of which contribute to his association and union with them. Although he is a "friend of lions and panthers," his usual draw to nature is lacking. He finds himself unsatiated until the axolotl exhibit catches his eye.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simplicity is an integral part of the young man's union with the axolotl. But the simple creature the man comes to know and admire could not be without its neotenous characteristics. As the salamander grows it never reaches adulthood and seemingly never ages. In this feature of the axolotl, the young man comes to the realization that death is a part of life for all men. He is scared of facing aging and dying, unsure how to react or feel about the unknown, and wants to avoid the question that all men hate to face. Looking to the axolotl for answers, he gets a paradoxical result. The animal that never ages, the animal he transforms into to escape the question of death, is a representation of death. The axolotl is lonely, immobile, seemingly lacking life, inexpressive, and unable to communicate, all things we associate with death. Somethings cannot be understood until you have personally faced the trials yourself. No living man has experienced dying, but all have experienced death. Similarly, the young man cannot truly begin to know what it is like to be the caged axolotl until he has been there. All his insecurities as a human disappear and his life as a simple axolotl begins. At last the young man can feel what the axolotls feel. All human understanding vanishes like dust in the wind. He stands still like all axolotls do, a prisoner looking for a purpose. • 22. Character Study Of Finding Dory Just Keep Swimming: Character Study of Finding Dory The story "Finding Dory" is about self–determination. Dory, besides her problem of short–term memory, is serious to find her lost parents. No one can forget Dory's motto of "Just keep swimming" when she was introduced in "Finding Nemo," where she keeps encouraging Marlin (Albert Brooks), Nemo's dad to keep going, no matter what the complications are! Thus, Dory has been viewed as a strong character of self–determination, who once makes up her mind, tends to achieve her goal. Despite her short–term memory loss, Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) is determined to reunite with her family no matter what the obstacles in Finding Dory (2016). Dory's personality is one of the most memorable characteristics of any Disney character which will be remembered for years to come. Her attitude towards life shows that people should give others time to express themselves and not judge immediately on the basis of their character and appearance. Dory's friendly attitude is shown when she meets Hank (Ed O'Neill) who is a color changing octopus trying to flee from the Marine Life Institute which is located in Morro Bay, California and wants to retire to an aquarium life in Cleveland, Ohio. Dory does not get scared or judge Hank on basis of his looks, but instead greets him in a friendly manner and says "Oh, thank goodness. Hi, I'm Dory." Another instance of Dory's friendly personality is when she makes a deal with Hank that she will give him her identification tag if he takes her to the tank where her parents are living. When Hank takes Dory to the Open Ocean exhibit, which is where she remembers that she lived with her parents, he takes her to the top of the tank and the camera zooms in on Dory exchanging the tag to Hank and tells him in heartfelt tone "I think I'm gonna remember you." Her welcoming nature is one of her key attributes in the animated film and it helps her, make her goal a reality. Her absent–minded personality hurts her when she tries to remember, where her parents would be. Her poor memory is shown when she tries to recall what exhibit to go into and Hank believes that her forgetfulness is such a good and not bad thing when he says, "You're lucky. No memories. No ... However, in this particular instance, people felt that their odds were increased when they chose the numbers despite no apparent logical reason to think so – ergo, the illusion of control (Sanger). It is important to note that the illusion of control had no measurable effect in this scenario – whether people chose their numbers or not, their odds did not change. Some of the corporations withdrew their sponsorships of her show for fear of being linked to her controversy. Ellen DeGeneres changed America's television industry by coming out as gay (Tauber & Jordan, 2003). She managed to convince the American society that entertainers too should have freedom to choose their preferred sexual orientation. Most scholars agree that Ellen DeGeneres created precedence as the first lead actress to announce that she is a member of LGBT on national television. Soon after her announcement it became a norm for actress, singers, comedians, and actors to come out of the closet despite the fact that most Americans marginalize members of LGBT. • 31. Example Of A Talk Show Defining what talk shows are can be a very challenging task. The OED defines the talk show as following: "A chat show, especially one in which listeners, viewers, or the studio audience are invited to participate in the discussion." (OED) However, talk shows have become very popular in recent times and represent a rapidly changing hybrid media phenomena. According to Ilie, "they display intertextuality through overlaps with other mediatized forms of talk, and they endlessly reconstruct themselves by violating and transgressing their own discursive conventions." (2006:489). Talk shows do not represent only one form of communication and social behavior, but they use different ways to converse and interview their guests. More than one type of discourse is used within talk shows. Many talk shows combine different discourses such as the discourses used in debates, game shows, debates, interviews and quiz shows (cf. Ellen Foster : An Adult Who Will Never Give Up On Them "Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be" (Pierson). Kaye Gibbons' novel, Ellen Foster, recounts the journey of a young girl who is actively searching for her champion; someone who will take her in and love her as their own. She does this while also interjecting the experiences she has with her new family. Born as Bertha Kaye Batts in 1960, Kaye Gibbons was the child of a farmer and grew up poor (Disheroon–Green). Her first novel, Ellen Foster, began as poem that eventually grew into something much greater ("Kaye Gibbons"). After the novel published in 1987, Gibbons won two literary awards, the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction and a citation from the Ernest Hemingway Foundation ("Overview: Ellen Foster"). Despite being reluctant about revealing the real drive behind Ellen Foster, Kaye Gibbons opened up to the media. Ellen's character was inspired by Kaye Gibbons herself. Her mother's suicide at ten years old, an abusive and alcoholic father, and the placements with family members were characteristics passed on to Ellen Foster (Telgen and Hile). Aside from creating a novel from the perspective of a young girl and the tribulations that she experiences, Kaye Gibbons also focuses on specific themes throughout the novel. Maeleigh and Anna have completely different "coming out" stories at this point in their lives. Growing up with Maeleigh, I was able to see how her life was affected by being gay. I know more about her lifestyle and story than most would and it was difficult for her to figure herself out. Mae was very confused and distraught as she got older and she started to realize she was not the so called "normal" little girl. She had to learn to except herself before she could tell anyone or most importantly come out to her parents. As for Anna, I have no personal ties to her. Maeleigh met Anna this year at school; they both attend Manchester University and play on the softball team. They eventually got together and developed a relationship. Everything between the two is new and they are learning more about each others stories and how they dealt with coming out. Coming out is one of the most difficult aspects of being a lesbian. They have spent an extreme amount of time playing out in their minds how to tell this news to their parents. The scariest part, both have said, would have to be the thought of being rejected by their families. Maeleigh had known she was different from everyone since she was in 5th grade. She began to find herself having crushes on girls rather than boys. She said in 5th grade she was terrified, not knowing why she felt this way. Not knowing the reasons why she felt ... Networks can be a positive thing because they allow access to great business opportunities, give you access to information or future clients and increases communication. For women though we are still experiencing gender inequality in the work place. Women have less opportunity for promotion in the work place and still face a pay gap. The purpose of Stiletto Networks is women making their voices heard in the business world. Stiletto Networks work to improve women's lives, their communities and companies they are involved in. They also focus on women being able to become the biggest and bravest version of themselves. They also provide opportunities for women to network in gatherings such as dinner events, salon events and other social places. It provides women with a sense of comfort knowing there are other women out there who want their voice heard in the business world. The name of my Stiletto Network is Women with a Purpose. I chose this name because I think as a network we can encourage other women to not be afraid to have a voice, take a stand and change the world. The significance of the name that I have created for my network is that it is built around a group of women, who I believe work to empower other women each and every day. The investigation soon turns into a fight for survival and escape, as the colony has been overrun by aliens and is now their breeding grounds. Ellen Ripley, who is played by Sigourney Weaver, is the advisor to the expedition, but quickly becomes the group's anointed leader. Ripley was recovered by a team, who found her in a state of hibernation, after she had to blow up her ship, because an alien got on board and killed her entire crew. She had been adrift for almost sixty years in a shuttle pod. When they got her back to the base, she had these reoccurring nightmares about the alien, such like it ripping out of her body. At first, the company didn't believe her about the alien when they debriefed her, but when they lost contact with the colony they asked her to go with the marines, due to her experience with the creature. • 40. Comparison Between Macbeth And Romeo And Juliet In both Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare presents to the audience impressive female characters. These women were bravely defiant in the patriarchal society of the 16th century in which they lived. Lady Macbeth embraced the fight for power, which was conventionally thought as a man's deed: Juliet spoke and acted against male authority. Her father's expectation for her marriage and fate was for Juliet, unbearable. Such rejection and rebellion against male supremacy was not only highly dangerous to women, but it also definitely shook the stability of patriarchal dominance. Callaghan (1989) suggested that, under a significant 'religious influence', Renaissance society was 'profoundly hierarchal' , ranking society members in the following order: God, monarch, men, and women. Therefore, it was compulsory for women to submissively consider themselves as silent and obedient subjects to their fathers and husbands in order to maintain peaceful ...
