Science 7 - LAND and SEA BREEZE and its Characteristics

Working Title:
I want the title for my products to stand out and be catchy.
“Fashion 4 you”, “I like”, “tips, tricks and kicks”, “beautylious”
Audience:
My project caters mostly towards females, because a
stereotypical interest for a woman is shopping and buying
clothes. The age category could vary throughout my project,
but I would most like to focus on teenagers (15-24) I chose
these ages because these are the ages of people who are
most likely to buy a fashion magazine, or go to a fashion
show, or look up different styles of outfits. My project has no
preference when it comes to sexuality, meaning that I think
clothes can’t be categorised with sexuality. Because I want
my project to focus on looking good at a cheap price, I would
most likely be looking at class C1, skilled working class.
Meaning that the people in this category have money but are
less likely to buy expensive/designer clothes with it. The
Lifestyle/ Psychographics of people help us understand what
products they will most likely buy. For my product I think that
people would fit into the Balanced/Totally integrated group,
the group is a mixture of Achievers and the Socially
Conscious groups. They will respond to concepts of success
but related to benefitting mankind. (Socially conscious type A,
this group is concerned about how their actions affect the
world around them. They want to make the world a better
place; recycle, drive fuel-efficient cars etc. They will respond
to messages about making a difference to society or the
environment. Socially conscious type B, this group has given
up on humanity. They are self-sufficient and will not respond
to messages about products). From making an audience
profile I found that the stereotypical audience for liking
fashion is a middle aged, higher-class woman, living in well
financed places, such as central London. To cater to this
specific audience I will be including things that they would
want to read about, such as celebrity gossip, clothing brands.

Rationale
This year the skills I have developed are learning how to use
various editing software, such as Adobe Premiere and
Photoshop. This will help when it comes to editing my
product. I will be using Photoshop mostly because I will be
editing photos. I chose media to study because I want to work
in some form of media when I leave college. The subjects I
study haven’t influenced my choice for this project. I chose
fashion because it’s very popular within photog2raphy.
Project Concept
The idea for my product is based around fashion, because
fashion is very popular when it comes to media. I would like
to create a seasonal base photography portfolio based on
fashion. To help me with this I will be looking at popular
clothing styles for each season as well as unpopular clothing
styles. I want to create a magazine that caters to both
teenagers and adults varying in ages from (15-24). I aim to
do around a 10 double page magazine including front and
back covers. I will try to include something that caters
towards all ages. I want to include tips and tricks for styling
yourself throughout the season. I plan to have around 10
photos for each season. I would also like to create a video
look book when I can have a close up of the clothing that I’m
going to include on the poster board. For this, I will need to
look into other video look books that have been created in
order to learn what draws and audience in when it comes to
clothing and the styles/ modelling is important in order to
show that the person wearing the clothes likes them also.
Due to the fact I chose to have a vast audience, I want to
include content that will cater to everyone. My initial idea for
this was to have half the magazine catered towards teens
and would include, competitions, celebrity posters and ways
to get involved. The other half of the magazine will mostly
cater to and older audience where there will be gossip,
competitions and information surrounding their favourite
celebrities. I want to make my magazine cater to a bigger
audience because I can experiment more when it comes to

Evaluation
The photos I take will be included in the magazine as well as
printed out and labelled on a poster board. I will be labelling
locations, colours and techniques that I did to achieve the
end photoproduct. I will be labelling the photos because I
want to note down what skill/ technique was used in order to
get the photo. I will use the weekly diaries I have kept which
document my work such as what I made and how I made it.
This will give my evaluation more specifics when it comes to
explaining my work.
