The genre of the book is a realistic novel since most of the things happening is something that could

It can sometimes be difficult to grow up. Some people never grow up, some people do not grow up
before they are forced to, and some people marry responsible people so that they can stay childish

Nicholas Boyster was one of eight scientists the government had handpicked to work on their
newest secret project. Only being in his early twenties, Boyster was practically a child compared to
the other scientists, none of them younger then forty. Boyster's young age was not the only thing the
other scientists disliked about him, just the most official one. His general appearance fell far short of
meeting their approval, too. Boyster's dark hair hung down to his shoulders, often looking as if it

The story is set in modern time and it is almost opposite from the original story. The story starts with
Dr. Watson having a dream about the war and his living style. It then shows three victims getting
picked off one by one. The police are having a media conference call and every time the cops say
something not true a text is sent. Every text from the phone pops up as a written title what is being
said. Watson does meet up with an old friend that introduces him to Holmes in the lab at the
hospital. Watson sees the place but is not sure about living with him. Despite the fact he still joins

Although Dr. Roylott died while Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were present in the residence,
Sherlock Holmes was not guilty for the death of Dr. Roylott. The mysterious story, "The Adventure

Summary:
On December 26th, 2015, my mother and I went to go see the show, Baskerville, by Ken Ludwig, at
the Suzanne Roberts Theatre in Philadelphia. The play was a different and clever take on the
mystery novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The play the book tell
the story about an attempted murder of a man called Sir Henry Baskerville, who has just inherited
his uncle, Sir Charles Baskerville's estate. There is some suspicion surrounding Sir Charles' death. It
is said that he died of a heart attack, but his friend who found him dead, Dr. James Mortimer,
noticed an expression of fear on his face and the prints of "gigantic hound" nearby. So the doctor
brings the case to Mr. Holmes and it begins.
The venue of the show was the Suzanne Roberts Theatre in Philadelphia. It was a very sleek and
modern looking place. It was smaller than I imagined outside and inside of the theatre. The stage
was a perfect square black box type stage, completely surrounded by lights. The show was done by
the Philadelphia Theatre Company, and the show was written by American playwright Ken Ludwig.
The contemporary drama show premiered at the Arena Stage in Washington, DC on January 16th,
2015.
Ludwig's interpretation of the story was very clever and funny. It was close to being farcical, but the
actual premise of the show kept it from reaching that point. There were two things that made the

On May 22, 1859 Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to Charles and
Mary Doyle. He was their third child, and one of ten children all together. Charles Doyle was a

"The differences are obvious" as Arthur Conan–Doyle states. (Doyle, 51) As all stories that have
been both stories and books, there will he obviously some similarities and some differences between
the two versions. The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan–Doyle and the more recent movie
in the 2012 TV series "Sherlock", are two great examples to compare and contrast story lines. It is
these two pieces that I will be writing about. Returning to Doyle's quote, it is obvious while looking

literary works, A Study in Scarlet, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and A Scandal in Bohemia share a

Sir Conan Arthur Doyle was born on May 22nd, 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Doyles were
originally from London, but Arthur's father Charles Altamont Doyle and mother Mary Foley Doyle
moved to Scotland to pursue Charles' career in architecture. Arthur pursued a degree in medicine at
the University of Edinburgh, where he became bored of the subject and excelled instead in sports.

This novel is very interesting and gets the reader involved. However, it isn't written very well. I
think the structure is wrong because Roddy Doyle doesn't write the story in order of events, he
writes it in a way that is hard to understand as he jumps from year to year and often decade to

was competing against. People often referred to him as Sherlock Holmes and he received pleas from
detectives addressed to 'Mr. Sherlock Holmes' (Carr 139). Conan Doyle easily wrote well over 100
different stories and books, 60 of which were about Sherlock Holmes. The other books he wrote,

best work and hated that they were what he was so famous for. His other stories got extremely

admitted it blatantly, Sherlock Holmes was at least partially based off himself. The biographer, Carr,

Rosie the Riveter In order to get more women to join the workforce during World War II, the
government used a variety of tactics to motivate them. Propaganda posters of a character named
Rosie the Riveter was one of the most successful ways. Rosie the Riveter represented all the women
who worked in defense industries, in factories and shipyards, to fill the positions of men who were
fighting in the war. Rosie the Riveter was used as an effective tool for propaganda to get women into
the workforce. Yet, despite the fact that millions of women proved themselves to be good workers,
Rosie disappeared when the war ended, proving that she was regarded as purely a recruitment aid by
the government who never really wanted women in the workforce.
Out of the six million women who joined the workforce, half worked in defense industries. These
women were all referred to as "Rosies." Some of the most significant Rosies were what inspired the
creation of the strong Rosie the Riveter character. One of these significant Rosies was Rose
Bonavita who worked as a riveter at the General Motors Eastern Aircraft Division in New York. She
is known for setting a production record by drilling 900 holes and driving 300 rivets in a torpedo
bomber in one six–hour shift. Rosalind P. Walter was also a riveter, who was the inspiration of the
song "Rosie the Riveter" that was written in 1942 and became very popular (Strobel). The first
image of Rosie the Riveter was created in 1943 by Norman Rockwell. Mary Keefe, the model, was
actually not a riveter, but a dental hygienist. Norman's image was speculative and was based on
Michelangelo's Isaiah from the Sistine Chapel. The actual image is of a muscular Rosie who is
taking a lunch break which appeared on the cover of the Memorial Day issue of the Saturday
Evening Post (Strobel). Geraldine Hoff Doyle is probably the most well known faces out of all the
Rosies because she was the model for the We Can Do It! poster. During her one week as a metal
presser in a defense factory in Michigan, she was photographed by an unknown journalist. J.
Howard Miller, a graphic artist, turned this photo into the famous We Can Do It! poster for the
