Editor's Notes

  • #3 With that, Drupal is emerging as a new standard for managing integrated customer experiences. Drupal was born 10 years ago as a social publishing tool, and quickly evolved to become a robust web development platform that covers the full gamut of content, community, and commerce experiences. It has an architecture that allows it to treat content as individual objects that can be delivered in whatever context you choose, and has a flexible front end that lets it output to one or many distinct web experiences. You see drupal used as often for headless experiences where it is simply feeding applications and rich media as you see it being used for traditional web experiences.
  • #14 The community market is also known as “social” and is rapidly converging with the content marketplace – creating the social publishing market.Drupal’s unique strength in these areas will allow it to become the dominant player in the converged web experience, which is commonly called web experience management or customer experience management.
  • #15 Drupal’s balanced view of content, community, and commerce capability makes it an ideal platform for content-rich web experiences that drive directly into purchase. We see it in use for companies like Gilt and Cartier, but one of the more interesting use cases is how Warner Music approaches their business. (describe Josh Groban)
  • #17 Based in Orlando with 7 hospitals and more than 30 care centers, Florida Hospital is America’s #1 hospital for inpatient admissions. The #1 reason visitors come to floridahospital.com is to locate the nearest emergency room facility. Using open source Drupal, every visitor can prominently see, in the Red Bar, both a list of nearby emergency rooms, in order of location proximity to the site visitor, but also the current wait time at that facility. This valuable information, delivered anywhere their customers are located, helps FH improve their overall patient experience.
  • #18 We have deep integration with Salesforce, NetSuite, Sugar, and most other CRM platforms. You see Drupal used as a community front-end for social customer engagement sites with Symantec and Mercedes-Benz (for customer research and loyalty), to name just two. If you wanted to reboot your forums, for example, to build more social features into the experience and embed both shopping experiences and a loyalty program, Drupal would be the ideal tool to do this.
  • #19 building value in your partner ecosystem – enablement, training, - in a scalable manner, reducing partner costseliminate communication friction between partner & internal R&D org – direct connection builds relationships, improves processes and products – improving speed to market
  • #20 B2C / consumer setting – providing tools to engage with your biggest fans, deepening their relationship with your brand.wrap here - examples of new types of communities & collaboration – not narrowly defined.typically collaboration means project – beyond the firewall and beyond projects
  • #21 We have deep integration with Salesforce, NetSuite, Sugar, and most other CRM platforms.
  • #22 We have deep integration with Salesforce, NetSuite, Sugar, and most other CRM platforms.
  • #24 The primary objective was to architect it to be a STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS TOOL used by all levels of Management. Major functionality differences to support this are-PERSONALIZATION & TARGETED INFORMATION– Depending on their role in the company and location a user sees personalized content e.g. a RETAIL Rep might see Sales related information while a MARKETING employee might see the latest product information and News for their AreaINSTANT ACCESS TO TOOLS - All employee related tools such as Schedule, Stats, Alerts, Email, Calendar, HR to do’s etc. are right on the front page.EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT –Commenting and Rating capabilities encourage employees to provide direct feedback and be engaged. A built in RSS reader aggregates information.MULTIMEDIA – Video and Audio content elevates the communications from a text based communications platform.
  • #31 Why does that architecture matter? Because all most people are trying to do is to build targeted experiences, and the tools usually get in the way. No geek could build a presentation without having at least one architecture slide, so I’m checking that box.  This is the kind of focused architecture that our customers are looking for – an integrated content store, pulling content from both it’s own and distributed sources, with integrated measurement & reporting, which can contextualize and deliver unique experiences to specific users in specific touchpoints. Drupal does that incredibly well today. Most importantly, any complete web experience management solution must play nicely with whatever other systems you choose to work with. Killer web experiences are built on best of breed tools. It does not need to be so hard to have these systems talk to each other. Thankfully, Drupal’s open architecture – when combined with the great APIs that all of these tools offer nowadays – make it easy to accomplish exactly this.
  • #32 Articele on 10 Million users -> Drupal Module date -> # User sitesMobile Tools -> Drupal Module date -> # of usersCreated by people building great web experiences.Extract a starting point, improve it, give it backBy Web experience developers who have done it for who needs it
  • #34 Purpose built for engagement: Built by web experience experts for experts. Single Platform: Content, Collaboration, Commerce Rapid Innovation Fastest time to market for web projects: Built at the speed of the web Rapid development and deployment Rapid cycle content and page creationOpen approach drives the most compelling ROI: Drives cost and complexity out of IT Scale IT investments with marketing success Avoid vendor lock-inBest of breed ecosystem: Thriving partner ecosystem Pre-built integrations with ALL investments.
