Sodium sulfate is an inorganic compound that exists in three forms: dehydrated sodium sulfate, widely used in industry and also known as Glauber's salt; heptahydrate sodium sulfate, which exists in a rare form; and anhydrous sodium sulfate, also called thenardite, mostly used as a drying agent in organic synthesis. Sodium sulfate has applications in various industries such as the wood pulp, glass, textile, and food industries.
