Primaryinfo.com
Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic broad spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Ciprofloxacin binds to and
inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme essential for DNA replication. This agent is more active
against Gram-negative bacteria than Gram-positive bacteria. (NCI04)
CIPROFLOXACIN LACTATE
Process Description:
• Concentrate to deposit crystals. Dry the crystals under
vacuum. Ciprofloxacin Base (Crude) is manufactured by
condensing Fluoroquinolonic Acid with anhydrous
piperazine in presence of mixture of dimethyl Sulphoxide
and Isopropyl Alcohol.
• Crude Ciprofloxacin is dissolved in acetic acid and treated
with activated carbon in aqueous solution. This aqueous
solution is treated with Lactic Acid in presence of IPA to
Form Ciprofloxacin Lactate.
• Ciprofloxacin Lactate material is then dried and milled.
The major driving factor for the
growth of the global
ciprofloxacin hcl market is due to
increasing use of the
ciprofloxacin hcl in various
applications such as Urogenital
Infections, Respiratory Tract
Infections, Gastrointestinal
Infections, Typhoid, Bone and
Joint Infections, Skin and Soft
Tissue Infections, Sepsis ...
