highly advanced and are familiar with
the use of technology, so to meet the
learning demand of the children, the
schools must provide modern-age
technological education, which helps
them to enhance their skills during
their growing stage.
To provide such advanced education,
many K-12 institutions are stepping
forward to provide more advanced
pedagogies. Kalorex Group is one of
the leading groups that emphasizes
academic excellence in K-12
education.
The USP of the Group is using
advanced technologies, including
blended and flipped class strategies in
the synchronous and asynchronous
mode of learning, which leads to a
paradigm shift towards student centric
methods and also enhances and
upgrades the skills of facilitators.
While looking up 'The Institutes

Dr Shroff shares the Group’s all
encompassing vision statement as
being, "Shaping Glocal Learners with
a commitment to provide a safe and

competent, compassionate and creative
thinkers in this rapidly changing
world."
Sketching down the group's mission,

communicate with students and
parents. The mobile apps enable the
parents to know the learning outcomes
and receive daily assignments and
notes whenever required, or if a
student misses their classes, they get
updates on the portal.
While stating further about the
technological pedagogy, Dr Shroff
asserts, "The time has come when we
are seeing a paradigm shift towards a
free open national knowledge base.
Tech-based pedagogies, will no longer
be out of reach for every student.
"Our teachers training programmes
which include tech-based pedagogies
to help teachers cope with the fast-
moving pace and demands of students
learning, were of tremendous value in
excellence in K12 education through a
sound vision, innovation and
professionalism in our endeavours."
She further shares the core values of
the group and mentions, "Kalorex's

Modern-age Technology-based
Pedagogies
The major USP of Kalorex is the
proper utilization of the technology. In
contrast, teachers get demonstrations
and training for emerging classroom
technologies, encompassing the
knowledge, attitudes, and skills of
digital age work and learning.
The teachers implement curriculum
methods and strategies that use
technology to enhance student learning
by using Blended and Flipped class
strategies in synchronous and
asynchronous modes. These are the
new-age global classroom methods
being implemented in schools keeping
in mind the huge variety of online

resource earlier. A lot of data-driven

with the best companies for these
solutions is now happening in school,”
further she said.
The Plethora of Ideas to Overcome
the Challenges!
When we ask Dr Shroff about the
challenges which the group came
across since the beginning, she states,
"There were all kinds of challenges
that kept us stronger and more
determined in our beliefs. The
challenges of establishing a new
venture in a new city and getting
acceptance in the rigid government
systems all added to our experiences.
They kept building up our resilience as
a group. But difficult times don't last,
and things smooth out eventually.
Small bumps and hurdles obstruct the
journey, but it is important not to lose
focus of the final objective."
Stating detailed information about the
challenges, she postulates, "Today,
over 27 years of the group's
establishment, with a competent team,
all hurdles are crossed with
professionalism and expertise.
Principals of all the schools are
empowered decision-makers. The team
works and brainstorming sessions
usually throw up a plethora of ideas
that may be applied to overcome
challenges."
Unique Pedagogies
The digital learning platform eKal
Academy is the latest offering of
Kalorex to students. It was
conceptualised during lockdown when
students found it challenging to acquire
extra assistance for their Board exams.
Today, this platform provides live and
self-paced modules for all types of
courses for students in all age groups.
This includes hobby classes, skill-
building programmes, webinars, and
expert sessions geared toward job
counselling and coaching.
Holding the Future Endeavours
After sharing all the details about the
Group, Dr Shroff shares her vision and
states, "We have been ahead of our
times in adapting to online education.
Even before the pandemic started, our
students and teachers were regularly
learning and teaching through various
online platforms, so there was
seamless switchover during the
lockdown."
"Even today, when schools are open,
many aspects have remained online
where the online connections are
working well, and exchange
programmes between schools are
taking place on a national and
international level. So, we may say that
classroom teachers and students will
always be important. Still, many online
activities may bring the global
classrooms together to make teaching-
learning more effective," she
concluded.

THE KNOWLEDGE REVIEW
18. M Learning
Instilling the Modern Act of Learning!
As a child growing up in a
unique and rapidly developing
nation like India, education as
a whole is quite a tricky bump. In the
midst of the entirely new world ahead,
the country is still relying on the
traditional means of education.
Though the way education is imparted
in India today is old, it has been proven
to be very effective for a country like
India. Besides that, India also houses
some of the finest and diverse
educational institutions in the world for
higher studies.
But in a uniquely developed system,
carefully curated for creating
awareness amongst people about noble
professions, the touch of real education
somewhere lost its value. However, as
interesting as it might sound, the top
higher education institutions in India
also instil the faith back in not the
education system but actually
'Education.’
As Kofi Annan once said, "Knowledge
is power. Information is liberating.
Education is the premise of progress,
in every society, in every family."
Inspired by this, the platform is
groomed in a developing and modern
atmosphere, and helps the students to
get into the top-shelf universities and
years of age. Then, I launched Gupta
Tutorials in the year 1994, in a small-
town Ujjain, exclusively for IIT JEE "
However, further moving out of the
space and entering the education
sector, Mr Gupta had to give up
Pricewaterhouse Coopers Associates'
overseas job. When asked about this
unique career choice, Mr Gupta shared
that it was his ambition to coach
students. He also shared that the IIT
and Medical aspirants struggled to
clear the entrances, which posed
hindrances to getting into the country's
finest colleges.
Belonging to a middle-class family
from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, a young
intelligent boy with high aspirations
taught and mentored his juniors to
support his education and family to
meet two ends, and these economic
restraints inspired him to excel in the
field of education as a tutor.
In 1997, Mr Gupta completed his
BTech from IIT Kharagpur and
expanded Gupta Tutorials with a new
centre at Indore. It was just the
beginning of its long years of existence
in the coaching sector. At Gupta
Tutorials, the student strength kept
growing year after year, teaching about
1500 students sitting in 18 classrooms
in seven towns of Madhya Pradesh.

20. The Idea that Inspired M-Learning
It was in the year 2010 when smart
phones had started to conquer the
majority of the market share around the
world when a passionate gizmo friend
introduced the then-new Samsung
Galaxy tab to Mr Gupta.
Amazed by the quality of videos on the
tab, the idea of virtual learning was
conceived in the mind of Mr Gupta.
Asking himself the question that
inspired M-Learning - If movies can be
watched, why not educational video
lectures?
To Serve the Younger Generation
Better!
Being a prominent teacher for the last
20 years, the conventional methods of
education are what was always
considered Mr Gupta's forte. However,
with a wish to serve the future
generation in a better way by providing
quality education, he came up with the
idea of Virtual Teaching through the
usage of computers, laptops, mobiles,
and tablets.
Eventually, running conventional
classes along with the virtual classes
had constraints.
Talking about his prestigious online or
virtual education venture, Mr Gupta
says, "At the start, we tried to balance
the conventional classes and virtual
education. It turns out to be a very
tedious process. So, we decided to quit
the concept of conventional classes
and started solely focusing on virtual
education."
Being a start-up in its early years, Mr
Gupta struggled with maintaining and
attaining stability for the platform.
Amidst all this, to avoid any financial
complications, Mr Gupta sold his
properties to overcome the liquidity
crunch and became a sole proprietor.
After stabilising M-Learning, the
material along with video lectures. The
insightfully and meticulously designed
study material is simple to understand,
easy to follow, comprehensive and
perceptive so as to enable the student
to understand the concepts much better
than any other study material out there
in the market."
"Our learners are self-motivated, self-
devoted, and self-dedicated. We simply
need to serve content-rich stuff. The
institute records video lectures of the
platform then successfully opened its
doors for effective learners.
The platform started providing
effective learning solutions for schools,
students, and individuals across India,
right from class IX to XII and various
other entrance exams.
Asserting a special note on what M-
Learning provides to its students, Mr
Gupta says, "Additionally, the company
provides complete printed study
18 | March 2023
21. professors with deep Knowledge and
experience of the subject and target
examination in a real classroom
environment," Mr Gupta further adds.
With minimum editing, these
masterclasses are then published on
M-Learning App. Mr Gupta says that
such lectures are heavily admired,
used, and referred to by their limited
category of users, who are none other
than the country's top intellectuals.
On a Visionary Mission
The mission of M-Learning India has
always been to provide the best
learning options to its students who
wish to make a space for themselves in
the competitive world. Talking about
the institute's mission, Mr Gupta
elaborates, "M-Learning India
includes- student counselling, after-
sales support, technical support, as
well as updates of course materials (if
required) for students of classes 8th,
th th th th
9 , 10 , 11 , 12 (CBSE & State Board)
NTSE, and IIT-JEE & NEET entrance
exam contenders."
Interestingly, understanding the
demography and economic instability
in India, M-Learning has been
developed in a manner to suit the
student's needs. Highlighting some of
the interesting facts of M-Learning, Mr
Gupta says, "M-Learning videos also
play in an offline mode hence no
internet connectivity is required to
study them, making them time-saving
and cost-efficient. The benefits of the
product include the comfort and
convenience of studying anywhere,
anytime for the student. The student
can play, pause and replay the video as
per requirement."
"No holidays, no missing lectures, and
everyone is a front-row student.
Parents can look after the ward's
studies with better results.
Synchronisation with school studies,
dummy schools will go out of trend,
or hi-tech multimedia have been used
in the videos. This also avoids
unnecessary distractions caused. The
one and only focus is enhancing the
learning process of the student,
encouraging and motivating him to
build his conceptual strengths, stretch
his capabilities and achieve greater
scores."
Overcoming the Modern Challenges
The perk of having a passionate leader
is that they never choose the easy way
out. With such dedication, before
releasing the product, Mr Gupta
performed an accuracy check for his
products. Experimenting with 6 of his
brilliant students, asking them to study
through the video lecture series.
Proudly sharing the response of his
students, Mr Gupta says, "The
feedback was outstanding; the students
felt that the teacher was teaching them
one on one. The course video was very
descriptive and was 100 per cent time
efficient as compared to the
conventional class experience."
The past few years have been very
crucial for the education sector of
India. For example, in places like
and one can prepare the students for
competitive exams as well," he further
adds.
M-Learning is one of the few
educational institutes that realised the
need for tech-oriented study options,
eliminating the need for books which
was a boon during the COVID times.
Initially, they began with teaching the
entire syllabus of the subjects on the
tablets. M-Learning moved on to
delivering the study materials on hard
disks and shipping these hard disks to
the students. Soon, owing to the
difficult pandemic lockdown
experiences, they developed the most
advanced and techno-friendly platform
for preparing aspirants for the IIT,
NEET and School exams - M-Learning
India App for Android , Windows and
iOS. M-Learning moved still further to
launch live classes via the internet, for
optimum lecture delivery and best
understanding. They also formulated
an online doubt forum, where students
could feed their queries and would
receive solutions and answers from
leading faculties of the country.
Subject doubts and difficulties can be
cleared simply, using this forum, an
enterprising initiative for today’s
students, by M-Learning.
Instilling the Values of True Student-
Teacher Relationship!
The way education is perceived in
India has changed drastically over the
years. The recent covid times adding
more to the technological boost in the
education space. However, M-Learning
has always been keen about the unique
relationship a student has with a
teacher.
Talking about that and the learning
model at M-Learning, Mr Gupta says,
"M-Learning focuses on providing a
coaching classroom feel, the watching,
listening, and attempting experience,
hence no animations, hi-tech software,
M-Learning has 25
well-informed, talented
production partners with 10+
years of experience in the field

22. Jammu & Kashmir and a lot of remote
areas, children have not been able to
study and pursue careers they have
dreamed of even though they have the
potential to do so, sometimes due to
lack of internet availability and speed.
M-Learning realised this unfortunate
situation and was very considerate and
empathetic about it. The lack of
internet access made situations worse
for the IIT and NEET aspirants. These
students were supplied with
meticulously prepared harddisks with
the entire syllabus required for the
entrance exams by M-Learning. In
turn, many aspirants not only prepared
for the exams but also cracked them
with flying colours.
Today, M-Learning has crossed
International borders, they shipped
harddisks with recorded lectures for
IIT& NEET aspirants so that they
could prepare themselves for the
entrance exam by well-enabled offline
learning. M-Learning India reached to
students in various countries like
Canada, Oman, Indonesia, USA , UK,
Qatar, UAE, Nepal and Bangladesh.
The students were also introduced to
the Subscription model of the mobile
application for easy study and practice.
M-Learning has posted many study-
learning videos on YouTube, which are
free to access. IIT & NEET aspirants as
well as school children can avail of this
free service and learn their subjects via
Youtube. Over 300k subscribers have
already utilised these videos for
learning. Another very significant
aspect of M-Learning is that the
content designed by them is very
comprehensive; all practical, theories,
practice problems and even
illustrations related to the various
subjects, right from class 8 to 12 and
even for IIT & NEET entrance exam
preparations are optimally included.
office culture, where the entire team
works under one roof.
In addition to this, the company has
seen a drastic transformation in the
revenue aspect, where they initially
had INR 32,000, and as of last
financial year, they have grown to INR
2,29,00,000. Having a unique
subscription model, Mr. Shankey
Bansal, Director - Marketing and
Outreach avers, "Our courses are such
that any student who is focussed
towards his studies, can start it for as
low as INR 1999. The last quarter of
2022-23 , we are introducing live
lectures which can be accessed from
any corner of the country and beyond
through the internet. The introduction
of 5G & the coverage of 4G in our
country is only going to boost the
consumption of videos/live streams in
India."
Setting the Pieces of the Next Game!
M-Learning, after conquering a major
market share in the industry now, has
already accelerated the roadmap for the
future, showing the pinnacle of
excellence and enthusiasm. Briefly
talking about the future of the company
and its vision, Mr Sachin Mandwariya,
Director - Technology says, "M-
Learning has launched a 'Video
Streaming Mobile Application,' has
offline recorded videos, capability to
go live, accessibility on all Operating
Systems and for the convenience of the
student now displaying on TV as well.
Along with this, we have added a
'Doubt Discussion Forum,' where the
students can interact directly with the
mentors. Most important of all, we are
continuously innovating in the space,
and we are sincerely adding effort to
make education more economical and
easily accessible to every student
across India by fulfilling their dreams
and ambition."
Capturing the Core-essence
Inducing quality learning methods,
motivating students and building a
strong student base across the country
and the world, M-Learning has
captured the core essence of the
modern-day teaching-learning era –
Education.
Highlighting some of the major
benefits that M-Learning specialises in
and its journey, Mr Siddharth Gupta,
Director - Academics says, "M-
Learning has 25 well-informed,
talented production partners with 10+
years of experience in the field and is
engaged in the recording of video
lectures. These are not professional
actors; they are experienced teachers,
and they have taught the respective
topics more than 50 times in
conventional classrooms."
Further explaining the entire operation
of the M-Learning ecosystem and
maintaining a quality education
atmosphere, Mr. Gupta says, "The
video lectures are delivered in such a
manner that it explains the entire
concept effectively with appropriate
illustrations wherever necessary,
whereby there is no room for doubts or
confusion. The company and
production partners share a healthy
rapport, more like an author and a
publisher. Interestingly, the production
partners are paid half-yearly royalty at
a high scale depending upon the sale
of the subscriptions."
Changing the Perspective of the
Education Space
M-Learning management, in its
journey of being one of the finest
virtual education providers in the
country, understands that a change of
perspective is much needed in the
education space in India. That is the
reason M-Learning follows a virtual

change the world!
Remember, in life, people who have a
purpose bigger than themselves and
their own needs always make a greater
impact. At Saint Pietermaritzburg,
Gandhiji found his purpose – to do
away with racial discrimination, and
that's what transformed him into the
Mahatma (GreatSoul) that we know
him as today.
Passion
Passion is like the fuel to a car. Your
car cannot run without fuel, and you
cannot go far in life without having a
passion for your purpose. Mother
Teresa was once asked how she could
touch the untouchable. She replied, "I
see God in his various disguises in
the people I help." That's the passion
for your purpose.
Howard Schultz had a purpose of
creating a third place between home
and office for people where they
could unwind and rewind themselves
and be energized with a cup of coffee.
Today, his passion has created the
world-renowned brand – Starbucks.
You have to be passionate, so that
others can feel it through your vibes.
It should be a dream so passionate
that others can see it and feel it
through you.
Practice
The third P is Practice. Once you are
aware of your purpose and catch the
passion, now you should prepare
yourself and you do that through
Practice. Malcolm Gladwell, in his
book, 'Outliers' told us that those
whom we respect as masters of their
art have at least practiced their art
for10,000 hours on an average. He
called this the 10,000 hour Rule.
You have to identify what are your
talents, what are your skills and area of
expertise and you should sharpen
yourself in those areas. Abraham
Lincoln said, "Give me six hours to
chop down a tree, and I will spend the
first four sharpening the axe." That is
the importance of practice.
In practice, what is conscious becomes
permanent in the sub-conscious mind,
and it becomes second nature to you.
All the years we spent in educational
institutes are to prepare us for the
world. The educational institutes are
giving us the necessary opportunity to
practice and be better at what we are
called for.
S
ome of my students at the
University where I teach once
asked me to talk to some
graduating students. They knew me
as Professional Speaker who could
give them something to take with
them as they graduated. So I prepared
a talk which was very well received.
I thought that it might have a wider
audience and help many students in
various educational institutes, so I am
penning here my talk.
To make it easy to recollect, I called
my talk as 5Ps to a great career. Here
are the 5Ps:
Purpose
A person without purpose in life is like
a ship without a sail on the sea. The
ship is surely going to be at the mercy
of the wind. You can wish for a
favourable wind to drive you home,
but it won't happen.
You need to decide where you want to
end up and then set your sail
accordingly. We know Bill Gates, the
founder of Microsoft. His purpose was
'To put a computer on every desk.' It is
his purpose that made Microsoft and
Bill Gates famous. You have to have a
purpose; for some, it could be just
paying their bills and feeding their
Ps to
a

25. Persistence
The fourth P is Persistence. You have
to be persistent enough or dogged
enough not to give up in the face of
failure. If you can get up one time
more than you fall down, you will
succeed. The difference between
people who remain average and those
who succeed is their persistence not
to give up.
Ordinary people, after some failures,
give up. The successful are persistent
enough not to give up until they
succeed. We all know of Colonel
Sanders, who made KFC a global
brand, but when he was 65 and with
only a recipe, he knocked on a
thousand doors and was rejected. But
he believed in his recipe and was
persistent enough not to give up.
In life, remember, you need only that
one 'yes' that can justify all your
rejections and hard work.
Positive Attitude
We all know this, and it has rather
become a cliche now. But a Positive
Attitude can make a difference
between success and failure. I am not
advocating 'wishful thinking.’A
positive attitude has to be backed up
by positive actions. But it is a well-
known fact that people with positive
attitudes fare better.
You have to see the glass half filled.
One thing that a positive attitude does
is that it helps us to see the brighter
side of things and cultivate gratitude
as an attitude. An amateur loses a
game, and it affects him for the rest of
his career. But a professional looks at
it as just a part of his career. He
learns from it and performs better the
next time. This is where a positive
attitude helps one more in life. When
you become a person with positive
thoughts, words and actions, you
attract similar people, events and
opportunities to you that help you to
succeed in life and your career.
Those are the Five Ps that can be a
difference between success and
failure in life. Purpose, Passion,
Practice, Perseverance and a Positive
Attitude are those ingredients in the
recipe for success. Students have to
equip themselves with these
ingredients so that they can fare
better in their careers. Here's to your
success – the 5 Ps for a successful
career!

27. Then came the revolution where
everyone was asked to switch gears
from physical to virtual pattern. During
the 18 to 20 months of pandemic the
schools had closed down physically
due to safety measures. The schools
decided to operate virtual classes and
impart knowledge which would save
children from having a gap year. Now
when there was no choice but to
conduct online classes the Online
Education mode made its roots strong
and gave rise to a new normal.
It took some time to adapt and become
tech-savvy. As we all know, every coin
has two sides in the same way online
education also had its own positive and
negative impact. It also gave new
dimensions to the learning patterns. It
helped the teachers and students to
explore new ways of collaborative
learning.
Children who found lessons boring and
were always late in submitting their
work enjoyed the online mode of
teaching as it involved them in making
presentations, presenting and sharing
their thoughts. The students who were
shy to voice out in physical mode in
presence of so many children and
teachers found it very comfortable to
express on the virtual platform.
Children got a platform to explore their
abilities, skills and inner potentials. In
the initial days the teachers found it
very tough and complicated because
they were so used to the traditional
way of teaching from the textbook and
writing on blackboards or marker
boards and had never brought
technology to this extensive use. Also
many of them were not so equipped
with smart tools but they adapted to it.
The teachers, educators also got a
global platform to exchange their
knowledge and learnings through
webinars, workshops and seminars.
Their efforts were appreciated and
dedication to learn something new was
awarded with certificate.
The children who were restricted to
follow textual knowledge and learn
from a text book got liberty to research
on topics, follow educational videos
and make their own notes. It fascinated
children as they could learn the
chapters through animated videos,
flowcharts, graphic presentations, etc.
This helped them to understand the
concept in a much better way. On the
other hand some children took things
very easy and got so addicted to online
mode of studies and exams that they
till date are reluctant to get back to
physical mode. Some children got
diverted from their goal because they
used the gadgets to become more
active on social media and OTT
platforms, play online games. They
spent more screen time without doing
anything constructive.
There were a few drawbacks also like
no social connect with teachers and
peers. No time table or routine
followed. As it was online mode most
of them attended classes jumping out
of bed. No dress code, no discipline
followed. Switch on and off video as
per their convenience. Children got
lazy to write down notes and submit
their assignments on time. Children
even took assessments very lightly;
they would copy-paste answers or
browse for answers and appear for
assessments. Apart from all this, there
were some genuine fall backs for
children like nobody at home to help
them in studies as the family lacked
educational background, some of them
could not afford smart gadgets and
some faced internet glitches.
All said and done, the concluding line
is nothing comes with ease, you have
to toil for it. It is we who need to
understand how much we need to adapt
and absorb. We need to draw a line for
ourselves and make ourselves aware of
the fact that anything in excess is
injurious to health and the same
thought process needs to be followed
for any adaptation.
Era of Online Learning

28. Impact of
Online Learning
for Subjects like
Math & Science
Natural calamities teach us how
to survive. Nature is always
powerful. COVID-19 has
changed all the dimensions of teaching
and learning. The pandemic taught
every human being to fight for
survival. All went through a difficult
period of more than two years. A 360-
degree shift was very much
cumbersome for everyone in the world,
from children to adults.
Children did not understand what was
happening around them. Why were
schools closed? It was a compulsion to
sit at home and learn online. Parents
did not recognize how to handle the
kids and grandparents for 24 hours in a
small flat or house. Everyone had to
adjust to the changed scenario. There
was no option. Everyone was helpless.
Teaching shifted from chalk and board
to PPT. It was a little bit easy for other
subjects but a difficult situation for the
learners and teachers for the subjects
like Maths and Science. How to teach,
explain, or elaborate a theorem, sum,
concept, or principle in Science or
Maths?
It's the impact on the teacher and
learner and not on the subjects.
One cannot learn the subjects like
maths and science just by hearting
them. Students must know why I am
learning a particular concept. E.g.
Learning a Pythagoras Theorem or
trigonometry concept. Figure 1 shows
a Do it yourself experiment for
learning Pythagoras' Theorem. It is
useful to measure the height of any
pole or building. While Figure 2 shows
an electromagnetism principle. The
application is for Railway signals.
Subjects have been there for thousands
of years. How the learner is learning
that matters.
At the start of schooling, children have
many questions in their mind, like why
to learn? How to learn? So to explain
to them a particular concept at the
beginning is a great challenge for a
teacher. When your why is clear, things
become simple. Understanding is
better.
In online education, learning by doing
was stopped. The teacher can assess
the participation of each student in
offline classes was stopped.
Contribution and Cooperation were
almost zero. One had to understand on
their own. Many of the students did not
pay attention to online learning.
Teamwork is good for understanding
logic and explaining or knowing the
concept thoroughly. The healthy
competition makes the class
environment more joyous.
An incidence or a certain event related
to a learning concept that occurred in
the class will remain in the core
memory of the learner for lifelong.
These advantages do not exist for
online learning.
Modern-age Pedagogies

30. What is the use of this in my daily life?
If students understand this by
experimenting or using the DIY kit,
then they will understand the concept
well. Any theorem or principle with
proof makes more sense to a learner.
Let's understand the pros and cons of
online learning of subjects like maths
and science.
These subjects are to be learned in
class with interaction and participation.
The three Ps of learning Pen, Pencil,
and Paper will help to know better. By
hearting, a sum in mathematics may
give marks. But the concept will not be
clear.
I saw many children who used to
byheart the sums. If a teacher asked
them for any example other than those
sums, then they could not solve it.
Online education can complete the
syllabus in time for the sake of
completion but without understanding.
As an example, to calculate and learn
the area and volume of different
Science is a subject to understand and
not just by heart. Spring action,
velocity, density, weights and units,
simple experiments of magnetism,
sound waves, motion, electromagnetic
force, chemical elements, their
weights, molecular weight, valency,
solar system, airflow, pressure, etc., all
these concepts can be understood in the
classroom very well.
Online learning of science may help up
to a certain limit. You can watch a
video to understand, but to implement,
one has to experiment, note the results,
and observe. And then monitor the
parameters. Find faults and conclusion
of the experiment performed.
Every methodology or platform has
some pros and cons. We have to keep a
balance on how much to use them.
When the sea is within its limit, it
looks very beautiful. We must
understand that every function in the
controlled limit works well.
shapes, one can prepare models of a
cube, cuboid, sphere, hemisphere,
cylinder, cone, pyramid, and prism
from paper or clay. In the online class,
understanding these concepts was
difficult.
The focusing ability of a human being
on a certain topic is just 7 min, as per
the data available.
Learning simple physics laws is
possible in science by making models
and charts. Discussion among teams
will help the online session. If all
students or learners are on the same
page, then it will be a homogenous
class. The mentor or teacher can easily
point out whether all are understood or
not.
In online learning, every learner sits in
a different environment. In the
background, there may be a noise or
distraction, and then he or she will be
defocused.

Thas transformed the way we
learn and acquire knowledge,
and India is no exception. The
integration of digital technologies in
education has opened up new
opportunities for Indian students to
access quality education resources and
pursue their academic goals. With the
increasing demand for online
education, Indian educational
institutions have adapted to the
changing landscape by leveraging
technology to offer new and innovative
teaching methods, personalized
learning experiences, and opportunities
for skill development.
Online education is flexible and
convenient, allowing students to learn
at their own pace and on their own
schedule. It also provides access to a
wider range of courses and programs,
as students can enrol in programs from
anywhere in the world, regardless of
their location.

What are Digital Technologies in
Online Education
Digital technologies refer to the use of
electronic devices, such as computers,
tablets, smartphones, and the internet,
to support online education. These
technologies have transformed the way
that learning is delivered and accessed,
making it possible to reach learners
who may not have had access to
traditional educational opportunities.
30 | March 2023
34. Digital technologies have made online
education more accessible, flexible,
and interactive than ever before,
providing learners with a wide range of
opportunities to develop their skills
and knowledge in a digital age.
India has seen significant growth in
online education in recent years, and
many institutes have started adapting
to this revolution. Digital technologies
have revolutionized online education
and provided learners with new and
innovative ways to learn and develop
their skills.
The Effect of the Online Education
Revolution on Traditional Education
in India
The online education revolution is
gradually transforming traditional
education in India by introducing
better ways of teaching and providing
students with new and innovative ways
to learn and develop their skills. While
there are still some challenges to
overcome, the potential benefits of
online education for the future of
education in India are enormous.
Here are some ways in which online
education is revamping traditional
education in India:
Ÿ Access to Quality Education:
Online education is making quality
education more accessible and
affordable to students, regardless of
their location or financial
background. Students from remote
or underserved areas can now
access high-quality education
resources online and pursue their
academic goals without facing the
challenges of relocation.
Ÿ Personalized Learning: Online
education allows students to learn
at their own pace and style. With
the help of technology, teachers can
create personalized learning plans
tailored to each student's individual
needs and abilities, enabling them
to achieve their full potential.
Ÿ Flexibility: Online education
provides flexibility to both students
and teachers. Students can learn
from anywhere and at any time,
while teachers can create and
deliver courses at their convenience
without the constraints of a
traditional classroom setup.
Ÿ Digital Literacy: Online education
equips students with digital literacy
skills, which are essential in today's
digital age. Students are studying
how to use digital tools and
technologies to access information,
collaborate with peers, and solve
problems.
Ÿ Innovative Teaching Methods:
Online education introduces new
teaching methods that are
interactive, engaging, and promote
active learning. Teachers are
leveraging technology to create
multimedia learning resources such
as videos, animations, and
simulations that enhance the
learning experience and make it
more engaging for students.
Imagine an India Without Online
Education
If India did not have online education,
it would be a significant setback for the
country's education system, students,
and teachers. The education system
would be less inclusive, less flexible,
and less innovative in its approach to
education.
Here are some ways that an India
without online education might look
like:
Ÿ Limited Access to Education:
Online education has made quality
education accessible to students in
remote or underserved areas of
India. Without online education,
these students would have limited
access to quality education
resources, which could significantly
impact their educational and career
opportunities.
Ÿ Traditional Teaching Methods:
Without online education, India
would rely solely on traditional
teaching methods that are often
outdated and less engaging for
students. Teachers would have
limited resources to create
interactive and multimedia learning
materials that make learning more
accessible and enjoyable.
Ÿ Inflexibility: Traditional education
methods often lack flexibility, with
students having to attend classes in
person at a specific time and
location. This approach can be
challenging for students who have
other commitments or need to
travel long distances to attend
classes.
Ÿ Limited Opportunities for Skill
Development: Online education
has provided students with
opportunities to learn new skills,
including technical and digital
literacy skills, which are essential
in today's job market. Without
online education, students may
have limited opportunities to
develop these skills and stay
competitive in the job market.
Ÿ Reduced Reach and Impact:
Online education has enabled
institutions to reach a broader
audience, including learners from
different parts of the world.
Without online education, the reach
and impact of Indian education
institutions would be limited,
reducing their ability to attract
international students and faculty
and collaborate with global
education institutions.
Without online education, India's
education system would be limited in
its reach, flexibility, and innovation,
impacting the educational and career
opportunities of its students.

36. The pace of innovation is
unprecedented. Our lives and
careers have been
revolutionized by the advent of digital
technologies. Also, international
leaders are working together to
implement the United Nations'
Sustainable Development Goals,
which aim to improve areas such as
health, education, gender equality,
energy, and more. The private sector is
becoming more conscious of the
economic benefits of considering the
social and environmental impacts of
enterprises.
So, as educators, how can we best
equip our students to thrive in this
volatile and uncertain, yet hopeful and
exhilarating, global setting? The
knowledge and abilities students need
to succeed in their chosen professions
and help shape a better world evolve
alongside the world around them. We
contend that teachers need to
encourage students to think like
entrepreneurs if they want their
students to learn the relevant skills for
the future.
Strategies to Encourage Innovative
Thinking Among Your Students:
An entrepreneur's mindset entails the
ability to recognize and make the most
of opportunities, shift gears when
Strategies for Fostering
an
Entrepreneurial Mindset

necessary, and see setbacks as stepping
stones to growth.
An entrepreneurial frame of mind is
crucial for every student who plans on
going into business for themselves.
Students with this outlook can become
intrapreneurs, or leaders of innovation
and creativity within a firm, NGO, or
government agency where they
eventually find employment. It can be
useful in ordinary life, too, by reducing
the emotional toll of mistakes and
recasting missteps as instructive
challenges.
Successful business educators know
how to foster a can-do, risk-taking
attitude in their students. They benefit,
of course, from teaching a topic that
requires this kind of critical thinking
on the part of their students. A lot of
the strategies they employ in one
subject may be used in another.
In this article, I shall dig into six
distinct methods in this category. As
we go, keep in mind how you may
adapt these methods to foster an
atmosphere of innovation and
creativity in your own classroom.
Ÿ Project-Based Learning Can Help
Students Forge Their Own
Academic Paths
Take the students on an adventure with
no set itinerary. Get right in and have
them come up with a problem that they
can use to practise their problem-
solving skills in teams. Ignore their
requests for a plan.
Ÿ Encourage Students To Think
Globally and Explore Their
Imaginative Potential
The term 'unlearning' comes to mind.
It's important to consider whether the
students you're about to teach have
already formed fixed opinions or
assumptions about the kinds of things
you hope to alter. It's possible, for
instance, that they'll enter your
classroom assuming that you'll provide
all the answers and all the knowledge
they'll need to succeed. Plan your class
so that the students present more often
than you do, and take on more of an
advising role.
Ÿ Challenge Students to Be Bold
Encourage the students to include
their personal experiences and
professional expertise in their
coursework. A more well-known
admonition to 'get out of the classroom'
may not be as effective as this. When
students take charge of their own
education, they can begin from a
familiar and safe place of
understanding and then explore new
avenues of inquiry.
34 | March 2023
37. Ÿ Acknowledge the Potential of Your
Students
Consider many approaches that you
might use to motivate your students to
push themselves while maintaining
their safety. You should give your
students difficult assignments, but you
should also make sure they get the
support they require.
Ÿ Show Students Why It's Crucial to
Constantly Revise and Enhance
Their Strategies
You should incorporate some room for
student error into your lesson plans.
Remind them that setbacks may be
used as stepping stones to success by
demonstrating how to grow from error.
A 'pivot' is the term used to describe
this type of action in the context of
entrepreneurship. Is there a chance that
students will encounter roadblocks and
have to make adjustments as a result of
your course?
Ÿ Maintain Open Lines of
Communication With Your
Students as You Work to Instill in
Them Fresh Perspectives
Get in touch with your students
outside of class (yes, that's right)
and send them messages that will
help them retain the new perspective
you're trying to instill in them.
Through the use of social media
and messaging apps like Twitter
and WhatsApp, it is simple to
do so.
The global spread of COVID-19 has
shown how essential an entrepreneurial
mindset is for solving today's
problems. We have responded to the
pandemic in various ways, including
by accepting risk, being proactive,
seeing opportunities, sharing
information, working together,
maintaining a level of flexibility, and
fixing problems as they arise. Each of
these characteristics is essential to the
entrepreneur's way of thinking. By
inculcating such a mindset in our
students, we will better prepare them to
face the difficulties of the future and
seize the possibilities that lie ahead.
