CURRICULAR STATEMENT
Constructing the knowledge about the transport of
minerals in plants, their mode of transportation and find out
which tissue is take part in this process.through
experiments,observation,analysis ,and evaluating by
participation in group discussion, response in questioninh and
report.
2. CONTENT ANALYSIS
Terms: xylum, phloem, vessels, tracheids, parenchyma,
vascular tissue, leaves, sieve tues, companion cells, root, stem.
FACTS:
The plants possess a vascular bundle
The vascular bundle extends from roots to the
leaves.
In plants there are two type of tissues – xylum
,phloem
The xylum and phloem are the tissue in
vascular bundle.
CONCEPTS
MAJOUR CONCEPTS :
The xylum and phloem are seen on the vascular bundle
The xylum and phloem are seen alonge with eachother
In pants transport of materials through- xylum and
phloem.
MINOR CONCEPTS:
Xylum containe two type of tubs-vessels and
tracheids.
Mature vessels and cella are dead cells.
Water and salts are transported thorugh dead cells.
3. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Enable the pupils to develop
Fatual knowledge of tissues in plants
Recalling the terms like xylum phloem vessels,
trachieds, parenchyma, sieve tubes, companion cell:
facts and concept mentioned in the content analysis.
Recognizing the different tissues in plants.
Explaining the functions of tissues.
Conceptual knowledge on tissues in plants
Recalling the types of tissues
Recognizing the functions of tissues
Comparing the different tissues.
Procedural knowledge on the tissues in plants
Differentiating the types of tisses and cells,
Explaining the function of tissues.
Execuiting the activity of listing the tissues and their
functions.
Metacoginitive knowlwdge on tissues.

4. Observation of tissues in plants
Completing the activity as per the instruction
Communicating through presenting group work.
PRE REQUISITES
Plants contain xylum and phloem tissues
Xylum and phloem present in large vascular bundle
The transport of materials through various parts of
the plants.
TEACHING LARANING RESURCES
Chart showing the xylum and phloem their
structure
Activity card
Black board
5. TEACHING LEARING INTERACTION
Class room interaction Pupil responses
Preparation
Teacher starts the class with an
informal talk
We have study that plants
prepared food by photosynthesis
We have also find out how the
water carbon dioxide required for
this reaches the leaves.
Do plants require eny nutrients
othere than these?
ACTIVITY:1
Teacher showing a chart which
deals with the structure of the
xylum and phloem
Content formation
Pupil understands the
structure of xylum and phloem.
ACTIVITY: 2
The students are divided in to
two groups and distributing
activity card describing the
functions of xylum and phloem.
Pupil read the card and
yes

Pupil read the card
6. understands their functions.
SUMMARISATION
The plants possess a vascular bundle.
The vascular bundle contain two type
of tissues xylum and phloem. The
xylum contained vessels and
tracheids. This mature vessels and
tracheids called dead cells, through
these dead cells the water and
minerals are transported. The phloem
in the another vascular tissue. The
phloem can along with the xylum.
The food prepared in the leaves is
transported to vascular parts of the
plant through the phloem
FORMATIVE EVALUATION PROCEDURE
1 .Review
1. What is the xylum and phloem?
2. Which are the functions of xylum and phloem?
3. How to arrange the xylum and phloem in vascular
bundle?
4. What are the dead cells?
Content formation
Pulil understand the
functions of xylum and phloem
7. 5. Which is the Maine part of phloem?
2. FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY
1. Prepare a poster model of cross section of stem.
2. Write down the importance of xylum and phloem in
your science diary.
3. Draw and label diagram of plant tissue in your
science diary.
