Fencing is an outlet for personal expression. For many, it is a way of life. However, this this way of life is dying out. There is much debate about
classical fencing vs. Olympic fencing. Olympic fencing uses much of the same equipment but is very different from classical fencing. Making many
believe that classical fencing is the way of the past.
The earliest depiction of fencing can be found in a relief in the temple of Medin at Habu, near Luxor in Egypt. The temple was built by King
Ramses III in about 1190 BC. This relief shows a match between two fencers with their sword points covered and the swordsmen are wearing masks

The Epee, or the Rapier, Was used mainly in Spain and Italy. Wrestling moves were coordinated with fencing moves to help fencers be formidable
against several opponents. It has a long thin blade with a sharp edge and a vented basket for a hand guard. This became a favored weapon for dueling
with the entire body of the opponent being the target area. The rapiers of this time were edged, yet this was to keep opponents from grabbing the blade,
and would not be used to slash until much later. Shortly after 1471, dueling was banned by the Catholic Church. Spanish conquests brought fencing
around the world, and that turned fencing into a sport. Sometime in the 18th century a French school of fencing, improved the sport into what we know
now.
Olympic Fencing, is a sport in which two athletes battle with a rapier style sword. In Olympic fencing there are three categories, Foil, Г©pГ©e and
sabre, all of them having different weapons and target area. Foil requires that the opponent be hit in center of the body, with the tip of the sword,

As the year of 2014 winded down, with the ending of the Sochi Olympics, the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee devised a list
of 40 recommendations with the intention of shaping the future and the direction of the Olympic Games. These recommendations provide a strategic
guideline to follow heading into the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. These recommendations can play a key role in improving sport and sport

Only 30 years before Olympiapark was built Germany hosted the Olympics under Nazi control and the buildings were strong and almost 'harsh'

Still, no matter how much he smiles, Matthew Crawford always find himself coming in first or second place, crossing the finish line.
He said he knows he needs to shave off a few seconds, but still he knows he's, as quick as a flash of lightning.
Competing in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100 sprint, Crawford can run a 11.95 in the 100m and a 24.67 in the 200.
He's the third leg in the Palo VerdeHigh School men's 4x100 team and he gives it his all, as he hurriedly paces himself to the finish line.
Crawford said, "running is my life."
He said working out empowers his body to be strong and he stays ready to run his best around the track.
Therefore, to be the best he can be, and to give the best him possible, he stays hydrated, pushes himself past his limits, breathe deeply and pump his
