  2. 2. Simple Sentence • A simple sentence contains only one independent clause. • Ex: I live in Georgia.
  3. 3. Compound Sentence • A compound sentece has two or more independent clauses. • I live Stone Mountain, Georgia; Stone Mountain is about forty-five minutes from Atlanta.
  4. 4. Complex Sentence • A complex sentence contains one independent clause and one dependent clause. • Do you like Georgia, I do.
  5. 5. Compound-Complex Sentence • A compound-complex sentence contains at least two independent clauses and at least one dependent clause. • I live in Georgia, some of my family lives in Georgia, others live in Florida.
  6. 6. Declarative Sentence • A declarative sentence is used to make a simple statement. • I live in Georgia
  7. 7. Interrogative Sentence • An interrogative sentence is asking a question. • Do you like Georgia?
  8. 8. Exclamatoy Sentence • An exclamatory sentence is used for emphasis and emotion. • I love Georgia!
  9. 9. Imperative Sentence • An imperative sentence is used for commands • Come to Georgia.
