Hello and welcome back (after a long unintentional break) to what is almost the last
chapter of The Hues Legacy, a color-themed joint legacy between Haleigh
(meadowthayer) and me (Taube) that attempts to pass down rainbow eyes over ten
generations. I say “almost the last” because there will be one more after this, but yes, we
are reaching the end of this legacy very soon. It’s been a wild ride, full of colorful names
and big noses of various shapes. Our current heir is Eucalyptus, above, a
knowledge/grilled cheese sim with a personality of 10/10/8/1/1. He needs to go to
college, get married, and have that spouse pop out a baby, preferably with rainbow eyes.
First, though . . .
Eucalyptus: “Um, Mom, Dad, where did all our furniture go?”
Sandy: “Oh, just into inventory.”
Silver: “We’re getting a new house!”
And boy, did they ever! You may be wondering why, if this legacy has less
than a generation to go, I bothered to build a new house. Well, you see:
1. I like building.
2. We weren’t sure whether we were going to count the founder, Neon,
as generation 1 or 0, and at the time I built the house we were going
with 0, so I thought there’d be more time to play in it, though we
later changed our minds, making Eucalyptus generation 9.
3. Also, I like building.
While chaos reigned out front, taxis
came to pick up Eucalyptus’s siblings
(Daffodil, twins Cornflower and Fern,
and Eucalyptus’s twin Carnation) before
he too made the calls for scholarships
and a taxi. Soon it would be just Silver
and Sandy and their many cats in the big
house.
Sandy: “An empty nest at last. What do you want to do?”
Silver: “Oh, I’ve got some ideas. And they all involve Little ‘n Local.”
Sandy: “Wait . . . what?”
You know, Little ‘n Local? The super crappy teeny-tiny retail lot you can buy in
Bluewater Village? That Little ‘n Local? Yeah, they bought that with the last of
their money after the house remodel and set up a gambling den called The
Silver Dollar. The intent was to raise money to furnish the giant house that
ended up not needing to be built after all, but we’re not going to dwell on
that right now. They started out with just a poker table and a pinball
machine, but none of the customers cared at all about the pinball machine,
so they eventually sold it. They had brought one snapdragon with them.
At first business started off slow, but they were determined to stick it
out, and soon word started spreading. Some familiar faces like
Platinum (left, in the white shirt) and Tracy, who is gen. 3 Red’s wife,
(right, the blonde) showed up. I’m not really sure why Tracy is wearing
a vampire’s gown, but I’ve had this neighborhood going through all my
turns with the Hues since Neon (which is bad practice, but whatever),
so it’s entirely possible I deleted her CC at some point in the distant
past. Anyway, back on topic, the poker table proved, as has always
been my experience, to be irresistible to sims, and the customers spent
many happy hours there paying to enjoy our venue and Silver and
Sandy’s company.
I, and by extension Silver and Sandy, was determined to stay there
until they had enough money to lavishly furnish the house in a
manner befitting its stately outside. The snapdragon helped a lot,
especially when the lot was small, and energy needs were topped
off by energizers at first and, later, naps on a couch. You can stay
pretty much forever at a business lot this way.
Before long they were expanding to a second poker table, and the
customers just kept rolling in. They got a few “Best of the Best”
awards.
The Silver Dollar was a popular spot for the local witches,
who were constantly doing battle over the weather on
the lot, but as the only outside attraction was the ticket
machine, it didn’t make much difference to the
customers.
When it wasn’t raining and Silver and Sandy tired of playing poker
with their customers, they engaged in that timeless Hues pastime:
cuddling outside and watching the stars. Aww.
I’ll skip the boring bits of growing a business, but eventually they reached
level 10 and had expanded to build the shady gambling den of my
dreams. The Silver Dollar is one of my favorite businesses that I’ve
created, though not much to look at, so we’ll just take a quick peek inside
its finished form. From the outside, it’s a nondescript but slightly sinister
warehouse-like building, as all good shady gambling dens should be.
There are actually heavy curtains to protect customers’ privacy, but
they’re CC and don’t show from the outside for some reason.
Inside, there are three poker tables, and from
sims’ points of view, that’s it. To those of us
that aren’t blinded by a maniacal lust for
gambling, there is also a bar, a table, a couch,
and even a jukebox, as well as a spacious
bathroom, none of which were ever used with
the exception of naps on the couch by my
sims. I think it came out rather nice. There’s
also a side room where the energizer
eventually went, as well as a flower arranging
station where Sandy produced more
snapdragons for us as the business grew.
With enough snapdragons and poker tables, customers will stay for
hours, if not days, paying all the while. Things got very busy before
they reached level 10, and it was a bustling place by the end.
Finally I was satisfied with the money they had made and The Silver
Dollar closed down, much to the disappointment of all these
gambling fanatics. I never sold the business, even though that
would have brought in quite a bit more money, because I felt
sentimental about it. Therefore, Silver kept it in the family until the
end of this legacy, which isn’t saying much since there isn’t that
much left.
Back home, I finally had the funds to
furnish the inside. Oh, and the maid
arrived and I couldn’t be bothered to
wait until he wasn’t there to take
pictures. So since I built and
furnished this grand house for no
real reason, we’re going to justify it
by taking a tour real quick. Here’s the
outside from a few angles.
Here’s the floor plans. The top pic is
the top floor, and from the top left
moving clockwise, we have an elder
bedroom, a kids’ bathroom, a master
bath, a master bedroom, the girls’
bedroom, the boys’ bedroom
opposite, and a nursery. In the
middle is a large hall/playroom area,
and there are porches off the master
bedroom and the playroom.
Downstairs, same pattern, there’s a
den, an office, a large kitchen, a pet
room/hall, a dining room, a tiny
bathroom, the entry way, and finally
the living room. The kitchen has a
door to the back patio and pool. I
mostly decorated in greens and rich
wood colors in celebration of
Eucalyptus’s namesake.
A little peek at the outside and landscaping. There’s a spacious pool and
patio, as well as Silver’s beloved dance machine. The family fruit trees stand
sentinel over a beautiful pond that I was apparently unable to take a
centered picture of.
And now for the tour proper. This is the entryway from the outside
and the inside. Functional and a little pretty.
The living room. I don’t have much to say about most of these rooms,
but I did work rather hard on them and I like the way they turned out,
so I’m forcing you to appreciate them.
The den has a lot of the activities that sims gravitate to.
No poker table, though – we’re going to leave those at
The Silver Dollar.
The study is a smaller space but perfect for a few more serious
activities, and it would have been a great place for kids to study had
we been playing another generation.
The kitchen is not the best setup,
but I think it’s cheery enough.
Between the kitchen and the dining
room are some pet beds and (out of
frame) the food dishes. There are
more beds upstairs in the bedrooms,
so there should be plenty of quiet
places for cats to rest.
The dining room is a pretty simple space.
As is the downstairs bathroom. Not much to say
about this, really.
Finally moving upstairs, we have the hall/playroom, graced here by the
maid. All the standard toddler and child toys are laid out, and I tried to
give it a colorful, fun feel.
The boys’ bedroom. We’ve had pretty large generations for
most of the family, so there are three total beds here and three
more in the girls’ room. There’s a cat bed by the window.
The nursery, with space for twins.
The elder bedroom (even though Sandy and Silver are not quite
elders yet, this will be theirs) is pretty stark but classic – I tried to
pick paintings that evoke actual works of great masters.
The kids’ bathroom, with lots of nautical imagery and
potty chairs, lol.
The master bath is a bit more sleek and stylish.
The master bedroom, where Silver tried to go to bed
and messed up the neat bedspread. It’s . . . very green.
The white door leads out to the porch, where there is
a bench and a telescope.
The girls’ bedroom is teeth-achingly sweet, but I do really love
that heart rug. Again, there’s another cat bed in here.
And our tour ends on the simple front porch upstairs, from
which sims and cats can survey walkbys. I hope you enjoyed the
house tour. Now, let’s check in with Eucalyptus at college.
With their scholarship money, Eucalyptus and his siblings
immediately moved into the small house that Neon built all those
many years ago, and he very quickly met a cute girl through the
matchmaker’s ball. Gail Comanche is a redhead with green eyes,
which is always nice, but since both Eucalyptus’s parents have
black hair, I doubt it’ll matter. We may see green eyes though. I
think Sandy’s eyes are grey, so Eucalyptus should be carrying those
recessively, though we’d really prefer the rainbow eyes for
generation ten. Gail is another knowledge sim and a college
student, and that’s pretty much all we know about her at this
point. I gave her a makeover right away.
Gail finds it *so hot* that Eucalyptus is unemployed. Good thing, as
ninth generation heir, he’ll never really need to get a job and burst
her bubble. Yeah, forget working. The only things you guys need to
do are graduate college and reproduce.
They cutely get started on some of
the first steps to that second one.
Their courtship is swift and brief, and
Gail and Eucalyptus are soon not
only in love, but engaged. They even
have the photo to prove it!
Since Gail’s a college student, I had her move into the house. She’s not too
far behind Eucalyptus and his siblings. This is also about when I realized that
Eucalyptus’s nice green shirt also comes with black nailpolish (whyyyyy?)
but I was too lazy to do anything about it at this point.
I was starting the process of finding the other siblings future spouses,
but the house was an absolute nightmare to play.
In fact, I had to extend one wall of the house to fit all the beds in.
Six sims in college is a bit more than this lot can handle. What’s
the solution?
Dropping out of college! Isn’t that
always a great solution, kids? (Just
kidding – stay in school or whatever.)
Fern, Cornflower, and Daffodil kindly
dropped out to make my life easier.
We’ll see them when we check up on
the spares. Have fun, guys!
Carnation got to stay because she’s
Eucalyptus’s twin. To keep busy, she
found herself a boyfriend named Phoenix
(with sweet hair) through the crystal ball,
and they quickly became an item.
Life with only three sims in the house was much more
manageable. With Gail now part of the household, we learned
that she has a personality of 9/2/6/3/5. Like Eucalyptus, she is
a knowledge sim, and she even rolled grilled cheese for her
secondary just like him. Aww, matching aspirations!
Carnation works on flower arranging. I don’t remember why
now. I may have just been keeping her busy, or I may have
needed a few extra snapdragons for the big house. *shrug*
One day in sophomore year, Carnation surprises Phoenix with a ring,
and he is all too happy to say yes!
Ughhhhhh. Lecturing your adult girlfriend over a clogged toilet is so
not sexy, Eucalyptus.
Despite living in the same house and frequently even being in
the same room (which isn’t hard – nearly everything
interesting/useful is in the main room), Carnation and Gail
hardly ever interact. Meanwhile, Eucalyptus made enough
friends to get into the secret society.
Plumbob in the picture because I always forget about the
screenshot/screen size issue when I return from Sims 4. Anyway, I
think this is the most populated secret society induction I’ve ever had.
And boy are they psyched to welcome Eucalyptus. Well, the green guy
is, at least.
College continued as it always
does. Eucalyptus, with his skills
maxed and his future spouse
found, gets to mess around. Gail
skills because her LTW was to max
all skills. Carnation just chats with
Phoenix and her siblings day in
and day out.
With the help of several skilling helmets (help! It’s been so long
since I’ve played I forgot what these are called!), Gail maxes all her
skills and gains permaplat status.
Gail: “So, something something
undeclared major?”
Carnation: “Girl, what?”
Gail and Carnation finally interacted and it
went terribly! They disliked each other and
were turning down all the socials. I don’t
know how they’ve lived together this long
without knowing each other, but they are
emphatically not fast friends.
Therefore I chain them to the chess
table until they are. Problem solved!
If only all interpersonal conflicts
could be resolved this easily.
All too soon (NOT! College drags on forever!), all three of our final
generation of students have finished with 4.0 GPAs.
With little fanfare, they grew up and
got the hell out of there, but Gail gets
special recognition for the absolute
worst transition outfit.
Bye, college! See you never again, at least in this legacy.
Now let’s check in on the spares.
Cornflower and Fern found a place together and found love rather
quickly, though there always seemed to be bystanders to these
romantic scenes. Cornflower matched with a maid named Nyah,
and Fern fell for Ernest.
Here’s our happy couples. Lookin’ cute.
Fern was the first to settle down, all in one corner of her
bedroom because I was getting lazy and rushing.
Cornflower followed suit in the living room.
Before long, Nyah was expecting,
much to Cornflower’s delight, but
Fern and Ernest weren’t in a rush
to start a family right away. They
were enjoying each other’s
company too much to focus on
kids just yet.
Soon Nyah gave birth, and she
performed the hand-off.
Cornflower and Nyah welcomed twin girls named Strawberry and
Raspberry. The naming theme for this generation is colors that are
also foodstuffs.
Of course, the girls were not even five minutes old when Fern had
to steal the show with her own surprise pregnancy announcement.
So much for those carefree newlywed days.
As time passed, Strawberry
(brunette in the polka dots) and
Raspberry (black hair with the
darker dress) grew into very cute
toddlers with rather large
mouths. I think they both got
Cornflower’s big nose (a.k.a. the
Hues family curse), but I think
they’re pretty adorable
nonetheless.
Without ever changing into
appropriate maternity wear, Fern
got through her pregnancy and it
was time to give birth.
Luckily, Nyah was there to help
coach her through it since Ernest
preferred to stay on the other
side of the room.
Just one baby for Fern and Ernest. They brought a girl named
Marsala into the world. The only reason I know Marsala is a word is
because it was the Pantone color of the year several years back
and I looked it up.
Marsala grew into an adorable toddler with Pippy Longstocking
hair. I think she mostly takes after her father.
While Fern decapitates herself playing
on the couch, the twins grew up.
Strawberry and Raspberry are very
cute and get along famously right
away thanks to plenty of huggles.
Marsala also grew up pretty soon after. She looks almost exactly
the same!
Both of the twins are mean and
outgoing little things, so they like to
gossip, which scandalized sweet
Marsala. Luckily, she can get her
daily quota of love from her parents
when her cousins are being
naughty.
This caps off Fern’s life. Looks like she’s got it pretty good!
Although they have their hands full with these twins, Cornflower
and his wife are also happy with the way things ended up.
Next up is Daffodil, our only singleton of the
generation, who moved in with Carnation.
Carnation already has a fiancĂŠ, so she just
has to call him up, but Daffodil uses the
matchmaker’s ball to find love with a townie
named Itzel Riddle, which cracks me up to
no end.
“What’s your name?”
“Itzel Riddle.”
“Okay, but I don’t like riddles. What’s your
name for real?”
Love is already in the air (along with plenty of dreary rain) by the
time the paperboy shows up, thanks to the magic of cheating in
spares’ houses.
Carnation really wanted a puppy, so I let
her adopt Ebony here. Ebony reminded
me at the time of my dog Pooka (pictured
in the inset), who has since passed away
since I set this slide up, which makes me
rather sad. Pooka was a very good dog.
Ebony is pretty alright. She’s no Pooka, but
Carnation likes her.
Ebony apparently approves of adding Phoenix to the family.
Both girls and their beaus celebrate their relationships.
Shortly thereafter, Daffodil decides to lock down Itzel.
Then it’s wedding time! As the eldest, Daffodil goes first and makes
an honest man out of Itzel. Carnation and Phoenix stand a
respectful distance away so as not to crowd the ceremony, I guess.
Not to be outdone, Daffodil retreated to the sidewalk to watch
Carnation’s wedding with some townies, but disrespectful Itzel
had the audacity to be close enough that he could actually see
what was happening. Anyway, both girls are now happily married!
Here’s our lovely couples. I have a bit higher hopes for
Carnation’s child because Itzel is a little funny-looking, but
Daffodil is gorgeous, so maybe it’ll balance out.
The girls had a fine relationship, but all of the sudden they started
being all nasty to each other.
Turns out it was just hormones as
they pop at the same time. Babies
on the way!
The good news x 2 smooths out
the bumps in their relationship
and they make up just in time to
be mommies-to-be together.
Both dads are pretty excited about the babies that are being squashed
in these non-maternity meshes that I couldn’t be bothered to change.
Itzel is on hand when both ladies go into
simultaneous labor. Phoenix stays out of
the way, but two girls are delivered
healthy and happy nonetheless.
Carnation and Phoenix welcomed Tomato, seen as a toddler on the
left with Ebony, and Daffodil and Itzel had Eggplant, who also got
along with Ebony from an early age.
The girls grew up together, almost
like twins since they were pretty
much the exact same age. Both of
them turned out pretty.
Daffodil is very happy with her little family.
As is Carnation, with the bonus that she has a dog to play with her
daughter. And that wraps up all our spare updates!
When we come back next time, we’ll check in with Eucalyptus and
Gail at the home lot and see if we can’t welcome a rainbow-eyed
tenth gen. kiddo! That will be the final chapter of this legacy, so be
sure to tune in to see how it all wraps up!
Thanks for reading!

The Hues Legacy, Chapter 22

  • 1.
  • 2. Hello and welcome back (after a long unintentional break) to what is almost the last chapter of The Hues Legacy, a color-themed joint legacy between Haleigh (meadowthayer) and me (Taube) that attempts to pass down rainbow eyes over ten generations. I say “almost the last” because there will be one more after this, but yes, we are reaching the end of this legacy very soon. It’s been a wild ride, full of colorful names and big noses of various shapes. Our current heir is Eucalyptus, above, a knowledge/grilled cheese sim with a personality of 10/10/8/1/1. He needs to go to college, get married, and have that spouse pop out a baby, preferably with rainbow eyes.
  • 3. First, though . . . Eucalyptus: “Um, Mom, Dad, where did all our furniture go?” Sandy: “Oh, just into inventory.” Silver: “We’re getting a new house!”
  • 4. And boy, did they ever! You may be wondering why, if this legacy has less than a generation to go, I bothered to build a new house. Well, you see: 1. I like building. 2. We weren’t sure whether we were going to count the founder, Neon, as generation 1 or 0, and at the time I built the house we were going with 0, so I thought there’d be more time to play in it, though we later changed our minds, making Eucalyptus generation 9. 3. Also, I like building.
  • 5. While chaos reigned out front, taxis came to pick up Eucalyptus’s siblings (Daffodil, twins Cornflower and Fern, and Eucalyptus’s twin Carnation) before he too made the calls for scholarships and a taxi. Soon it would be just Silver and Sandy and their many cats in the big house.
  • 6. Sandy: “An empty nest at last. What do you want to do?” Silver: “Oh, I’ve got some ideas. And they all involve Little ‘n Local.” Sandy: “Wait . . . what?”
  • 7. You know, Little ‘n Local? The super crappy teeny-tiny retail lot you can buy in Bluewater Village? That Little ‘n Local? Yeah, they bought that with the last of their money after the house remodel and set up a gambling den called The Silver Dollar. The intent was to raise money to furnish the giant house that ended up not needing to be built after all, but we’re not going to dwell on that right now. They started out with just a poker table and a pinball machine, but none of the customers cared at all about the pinball machine, so they eventually sold it. They had brought one snapdragon with them.
  • 8. At first business started off slow, but they were determined to stick it out, and soon word started spreading. Some familiar faces like Platinum (left, in the white shirt) and Tracy, who is gen. 3 Red’s wife, (right, the blonde) showed up. I’m not really sure why Tracy is wearing a vampire’s gown, but I’ve had this neighborhood going through all my turns with the Hues since Neon (which is bad practice, but whatever), so it’s entirely possible I deleted her CC at some point in the distant past. Anyway, back on topic, the poker table proved, as has always been my experience, to be irresistible to sims, and the customers spent many happy hours there paying to enjoy our venue and Silver and Sandy’s company.
  • 9. I, and by extension Silver and Sandy, was determined to stay there until they had enough money to lavishly furnish the house in a manner befitting its stately outside. The snapdragon helped a lot, especially when the lot was small, and energy needs were topped off by energizers at first and, later, naps on a couch. You can stay pretty much forever at a business lot this way.
  • 10. Before long they were expanding to a second poker table, and the customers just kept rolling in. They got a few “Best of the Best” awards.
  • 11. The Silver Dollar was a popular spot for the local witches, who were constantly doing battle over the weather on the lot, but as the only outside attraction was the ticket machine, it didn’t make much difference to the customers.
  • 12. When it wasn’t raining and Silver and Sandy tired of playing poker with their customers, they engaged in that timeless Hues pastime: cuddling outside and watching the stars. Aww.
  • 13. I’ll skip the boring bits of growing a business, but eventually they reached level 10 and had expanded to build the shady gambling den of my dreams. The Silver Dollar is one of my favorite businesses that I’ve created, though not much to look at, so we’ll just take a quick peek inside its finished form. From the outside, it’s a nondescript but slightly sinister warehouse-like building, as all good shady gambling dens should be. There are actually heavy curtains to protect customers’ privacy, but they’re CC and don’t show from the outside for some reason.
  • 14. Inside, there are three poker tables, and from sims’ points of view, that’s it. To those of us that aren’t blinded by a maniacal lust for gambling, there is also a bar, a table, a couch, and even a jukebox, as well as a spacious bathroom, none of which were ever used with the exception of naps on the couch by my sims. I think it came out rather nice. There’s also a side room where the energizer eventually went, as well as a flower arranging station where Sandy produced more snapdragons for us as the business grew.
  • 15. With enough snapdragons and poker tables, customers will stay for hours, if not days, paying all the while. Things got very busy before they reached level 10, and it was a bustling place by the end.
  • 16. Finally I was satisfied with the money they had made and The Silver Dollar closed down, much to the disappointment of all these gambling fanatics. I never sold the business, even though that would have brought in quite a bit more money, because I felt sentimental about it. Therefore, Silver kept it in the family until the end of this legacy, which isn’t saying much since there isn’t that much left.
  • 17. Back home, I finally had the funds to furnish the inside. Oh, and the maid arrived and I couldn’t be bothered to wait until he wasn’t there to take pictures. So since I built and furnished this grand house for no real reason, we’re going to justify it by taking a tour real quick. Here’s the outside from a few angles.
  • 18. Here’s the floor plans. The top pic is the top floor, and from the top left moving clockwise, we have an elder bedroom, a kids’ bathroom, a master bath, a master bedroom, the girls’ bedroom, the boys’ bedroom opposite, and a nursery. In the middle is a large hall/playroom area, and there are porches off the master bedroom and the playroom. Downstairs, same pattern, there’s a den, an office, a large kitchen, a pet room/hall, a dining room, a tiny bathroom, the entry way, and finally the living room. The kitchen has a door to the back patio and pool. I mostly decorated in greens and rich wood colors in celebration of Eucalyptus’s namesake.
  • 19. A little peek at the outside and landscaping. There’s a spacious pool and patio, as well as Silver’s beloved dance machine. The family fruit trees stand sentinel over a beautiful pond that I was apparently unable to take a centered picture of.
  • 20. And now for the tour proper. This is the entryway from the outside and the inside. Functional and a little pretty.
  • 21. The living room. I don’t have much to say about most of these rooms, but I did work rather hard on them and I like the way they turned out, so I’m forcing you to appreciate them.
  • 22. The den has a lot of the activities that sims gravitate to. No poker table, though – we’re going to leave those at The Silver Dollar.
  • 23. The study is a smaller space but perfect for a few more serious activities, and it would have been a great place for kids to study had we been playing another generation.
  • 24. The kitchen is not the best setup, but I think it’s cheery enough. Between the kitchen and the dining room are some pet beds and (out of frame) the food dishes. There are more beds upstairs in the bedrooms, so there should be plenty of quiet places for cats to rest.
  • 25. The dining room is a pretty simple space.
  • 26. As is the downstairs bathroom. Not much to say about this, really.
  • 27. Finally moving upstairs, we have the hall/playroom, graced here by the maid. All the standard toddler and child toys are laid out, and I tried to give it a colorful, fun feel.
  • 28. The boys’ bedroom. We’ve had pretty large generations for most of the family, so there are three total beds here and three more in the girls’ room. There’s a cat bed by the window.
  • 29. The nursery, with space for twins.
  • 30. The elder bedroom (even though Sandy and Silver are not quite elders yet, this will be theirs) is pretty stark but classic – I tried to pick paintings that evoke actual works of great masters.
  • 31. The kids’ bathroom, with lots of nautical imagery and potty chairs, lol.
  • 32. The master bath is a bit more sleek and stylish.
  • 33. The master bedroom, where Silver tried to go to bed and messed up the neat bedspread. It’s . . . very green. The white door leads out to the porch, where there is a bench and a telescope.
  • 34. The girls’ bedroom is teeth-achingly sweet, but I do really love that heart rug. Again, there’s another cat bed in here.
  • 35. And our tour ends on the simple front porch upstairs, from which sims and cats can survey walkbys. I hope you enjoyed the house tour. Now, let’s check in with Eucalyptus at college.
  • 36. With their scholarship money, Eucalyptus and his siblings immediately moved into the small house that Neon built all those many years ago, and he very quickly met a cute girl through the matchmaker’s ball. Gail Comanche is a redhead with green eyes, which is always nice, but since both Eucalyptus’s parents have black hair, I doubt it’ll matter. We may see green eyes though. I think Sandy’s eyes are grey, so Eucalyptus should be carrying those recessively, though we’d really prefer the rainbow eyes for generation ten. Gail is another knowledge sim and a college student, and that’s pretty much all we know about her at this point. I gave her a makeover right away.
  • 37. Gail finds it *so hot* that Eucalyptus is unemployed. Good thing, as ninth generation heir, he’ll never really need to get a job and burst her bubble. Yeah, forget working. The only things you guys need to do are graduate college and reproduce.
  • 38. They cutely get started on some of the first steps to that second one. Their courtship is swift and brief, and Gail and Eucalyptus are soon not only in love, but engaged. They even have the photo to prove it!
  • 39. Since Gail’s a college student, I had her move into the house. She’s not too far behind Eucalyptus and his siblings. This is also about when I realized that Eucalyptus’s nice green shirt also comes with black nailpolish (whyyyyy?) but I was too lazy to do anything about it at this point.
  • 40. I was starting the process of finding the other siblings future spouses, but the house was an absolute nightmare to play.
  • 41. In fact, I had to extend one wall of the house to fit all the beds in. Six sims in college is a bit more than this lot can handle. What’s the solution?
  • 42. Dropping out of college! Isn’t that always a great solution, kids? (Just kidding – stay in school or whatever.) Fern, Cornflower, and Daffodil kindly dropped out to make my life easier. We’ll see them when we check up on the spares. Have fun, guys!
  • 43. Carnation got to stay because she’s Eucalyptus’s twin. To keep busy, she found herself a boyfriend named Phoenix (with sweet hair) through the crystal ball, and they quickly became an item.
  • 44. Life with only three sims in the house was much more manageable. With Gail now part of the household, we learned that she has a personality of 9/2/6/3/5. Like Eucalyptus, she is a knowledge sim, and she even rolled grilled cheese for her secondary just like him. Aww, matching aspirations! Carnation works on flower arranging. I don’t remember why now. I may have just been keeping her busy, or I may have needed a few extra snapdragons for the big house. *shrug*
  • 45. One day in sophomore year, Carnation surprises Phoenix with a ring, and he is all too happy to say yes!
  • 46. Ughhhhhh. Lecturing your adult girlfriend over a clogged toilet is so not sexy, Eucalyptus.
  • 47. Despite living in the same house and frequently even being in the same room (which isn’t hard – nearly everything interesting/useful is in the main room), Carnation and Gail hardly ever interact. Meanwhile, Eucalyptus made enough friends to get into the secret society.
  • 48. Plumbob in the picture because I always forget about the screenshot/screen size issue when I return from Sims 4. Anyway, I think this is the most populated secret society induction I’ve ever had. And boy are they psyched to welcome Eucalyptus. Well, the green guy is, at least.
  • 49. College continued as it always does. Eucalyptus, with his skills maxed and his future spouse found, gets to mess around. Gail skills because her LTW was to max all skills. Carnation just chats with Phoenix and her siblings day in and day out.
  • 50. With the help of several skilling helmets (help! It’s been so long since I’ve played I forgot what these are called!), Gail maxes all her skills and gains permaplat status.
  • 51. Gail: “So, something something undeclared major?” Carnation: “Girl, what?” Gail and Carnation finally interacted and it went terribly! They disliked each other and were turning down all the socials. I don’t know how they’ve lived together this long without knowing each other, but they are emphatically not fast friends. Therefore I chain them to the chess table until they are. Problem solved! If only all interpersonal conflicts could be resolved this easily.
  • 52. All too soon (NOT! College drags on forever!), all three of our final generation of students have finished with 4.0 GPAs.
  • 53. With little fanfare, they grew up and got the hell out of there, but Gail gets special recognition for the absolute worst transition outfit.
  • 54. Bye, college! See you never again, at least in this legacy. Now let’s check in on the spares.
  • 55. Cornflower and Fern found a place together and found love rather quickly, though there always seemed to be bystanders to these romantic scenes. Cornflower matched with a maid named Nyah, and Fern fell for Ernest.
  • 56. Here’s our happy couples. Lookin’ cute.
  • 57. Fern was the first to settle down, all in one corner of her bedroom because I was getting lazy and rushing.
  • 58. Cornflower followed suit in the living room.
  • 59. Before long, Nyah was expecting, much to Cornflower’s delight, but Fern and Ernest weren’t in a rush to start a family right away. They were enjoying each other’s company too much to focus on kids just yet.
  • 60. Soon Nyah gave birth, and she performed the hand-off.
  • 61. Cornflower and Nyah welcomed twin girls named Strawberry and Raspberry. The naming theme for this generation is colors that are also foodstuffs.
  • 62. Of course, the girls were not even five minutes old when Fern had to steal the show with her own surprise pregnancy announcement. So much for those carefree newlywed days.
  • 63. As time passed, Strawberry (brunette in the polka dots) and Raspberry (black hair with the darker dress) grew into very cute toddlers with rather large mouths. I think they both got Cornflower’s big nose (a.k.a. the Hues family curse), but I think they’re pretty adorable nonetheless.
  • 64. Without ever changing into appropriate maternity wear, Fern got through her pregnancy and it was time to give birth. Luckily, Nyah was there to help coach her through it since Ernest preferred to stay on the other side of the room.
  • 65. Just one baby for Fern and Ernest. They brought a girl named Marsala into the world. The only reason I know Marsala is a word is because it was the Pantone color of the year several years back and I looked it up.
  • 66. Marsala grew into an adorable toddler with Pippy Longstocking hair. I think she mostly takes after her father.
  • 67. While Fern decapitates herself playing on the couch, the twins grew up. Strawberry and Raspberry are very cute and get along famously right away thanks to plenty of huggles.
  • 68. Marsala also grew up pretty soon after. She looks almost exactly the same!
  • 69. Both of the twins are mean and outgoing little things, so they like to gossip, which scandalized sweet Marsala. Luckily, she can get her daily quota of love from her parents when her cousins are being naughty.
  • 70. This caps off Fern’s life. Looks like she’s got it pretty good!
  • 71. Although they have their hands full with these twins, Cornflower and his wife are also happy with the way things ended up.
  • 72. Next up is Daffodil, our only singleton of the generation, who moved in with Carnation. Carnation already has a fiancĂŠ, so she just has to call him up, but Daffodil uses the matchmaker’s ball to find love with a townie named Itzel Riddle, which cracks me up to no end. “What’s your name?” “Itzel Riddle.” “Okay, but I don’t like riddles. What’s your name for real?”
  • 73. Love is already in the air (along with plenty of dreary rain) by the time the paperboy shows up, thanks to the magic of cheating in spares’ houses.
  • 74. Carnation really wanted a puppy, so I let her adopt Ebony here. Ebony reminded me at the time of my dog Pooka (pictured in the inset), who has since passed away since I set this slide up, which makes me rather sad. Pooka was a very good dog. Ebony is pretty alright. She’s no Pooka, but Carnation likes her.
  • 75. Ebony apparently approves of adding Phoenix to the family.
  • 76. Both girls and their beaus celebrate their relationships.
  • 77. Shortly thereafter, Daffodil decides to lock down Itzel.
  • 78. Then it’s wedding time! As the eldest, Daffodil goes first and makes an honest man out of Itzel. Carnation and Phoenix stand a respectful distance away so as not to crowd the ceremony, I guess.
  • 79. Not to be outdone, Daffodil retreated to the sidewalk to watch Carnation’s wedding with some townies, but disrespectful Itzel had the audacity to be close enough that he could actually see what was happening. Anyway, both girls are now happily married!
  • 80. Here’s our lovely couples. I have a bit higher hopes for Carnation’s child because Itzel is a little funny-looking, but Daffodil is gorgeous, so maybe it’ll balance out.
  • 81. The girls had a fine relationship, but all of the sudden they started being all nasty to each other.
  • 82. Turns out it was just hormones as they pop at the same time. Babies on the way! The good news x 2 smooths out the bumps in their relationship and they make up just in time to be mommies-to-be together.
  • 83. Both dads are pretty excited about the babies that are being squashed in these non-maternity meshes that I couldn’t be bothered to change.
  • 84. Itzel is on hand when both ladies go into simultaneous labor. Phoenix stays out of the way, but two girls are delivered healthy and happy nonetheless.
  • 85. Carnation and Phoenix welcomed Tomato, seen as a toddler on the left with Ebony, and Daffodil and Itzel had Eggplant, who also got along with Ebony from an early age.
  • 86. The girls grew up together, almost like twins since they were pretty much the exact same age. Both of them turned out pretty.
  • 87. Daffodil is very happy with her little family.
  • 88. As is Carnation, with the bonus that she has a dog to play with her daughter. And that wraps up all our spare updates!
  • 89. When we come back next time, we’ll check in with Eucalyptus and Gail at the home lot and see if we can’t welcome a rainbow-eyed tenth gen. kiddo! That will be the final chapter of this legacy, so be sure to tune in to see how it all wraps up! Thanks for reading!
