Communication in The Workplace
During my first 3 months of training I’ve had the pleasure of meeting one guy and 14 beautiful women. There were three individuals that I had the opportunity to closely interact with, they were Kristen (the trainer), Chantal (the supervisor), Keosha (the coworker). As for my observation the trainer Kristen, I believed to have a defensive, impatient, at times nor clear, and sometimes came across as rude. Kristen was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate. Our conversation consisted of mostly me asking questions regarding the customer service training content. Basically, I ask questions and she answer with sarcasm. Each time a question was asked she would refer you to one of the programs that were to use. I know the answer but wanted to clarify that I am understanding the information so that when moved to the floor that I will be able to give our members the correct information. This conversation between Kristen and I was not at all effective because at this present time I have graduate to the floor and feel that I am more unprepared then when I first started.
My second observation was with Chantal. I had the pleasure of giving her the communication style profile questionnaire and Chantal’s dominant style is reflective. Having conversations with Chantal was very frustrating. She started the training class with me but was always out of the class doing other things. Chantal’s attitude was of immaturity. I was always told to ask the supervisor, but she never knew the answers to the questions and to this day we are still going through the same thing. Finally, we were able to have a heart to heart conversation and she confided in me about where she came from and that she does not have any medical background and how she feels the same way I do. This training is very frustrating to her as well because she admits she missed most of the training and we must ask her questions and she doesn’t know the answer and that frustrates her as well. Chantel wants her team members to succeed and show compassion for us. I believe that she means every word and really cares about our wellbeing. I believe the conversation was very effective because I see that I am not the only one with these feelings. It felt great to know that I am not alone because I left a job of 15 years for growth opportunities.
Lastly, Keosha when first meeting her she seemed loud and obnoxious. Interacting with her in the training class I found her to be a sweet person with an outgoing personality. I also had the opportunity to give her the communication style profile questionnaire and found out that her dominant communication style is reflective. She is uplifting, charismatic, lively, and oh so loud. Within the training class she is one of the best reps. In the beginning Keosha became frustrated at times because when asked questions the trainer would refer you to the navigator system. Keosha has the personality for this job. She always tries to enco.

encouragement because I am discouraged sometimes, with this
being a totally different avenue for me. The conversation was
very effective because Keosha tries to always lift my spirit.
