The University Of North Georgia, Gainesville Campus Essay
During the Steps 2 College program provided by the University of North Georgia, Gainesville
Campus, my Education 2120 class and I were to provide 20 hours of observational field experience
in the classroom. From the many course options provided for the program, I choose to spend my
time in the Environmental Science course which was located in the Nesbitt building in room 1213.
The classroom setting was a darker than normal classroom, but was formatted auditorium style, with
all seats facing the front of the class towards the smart board. This was a new experience for the
students. Only the first row was used in class due to having a class size of only 7 students. The ratio
of boys to girls was about even with 4 boys and 3 girls in the class. All the students were Hispanic,
with the only diversity being the teacher and the teachers assistants present. They were all bilingual,
knowing their native language of Spanish as well as English except one student who only knew
English. All the students in our class came from Banks County High School. Banks County High
School, located in Homer, Georgia, is the only high school within its county, with an enrollment rate
of greater than or equal to 800 students annually (usnews,2015). Banks County High School has a
national ranking of Bronze. Here is the breakdown of the demographics provided by (usnews,2015)
and the National Center for Education Statistics of the school:

I Have Learned At Georgia State University Essay
In today's educational field I plan to apply my knowledge of everything that I have learned at
Georgia State University. In my time at Georgia State, I have developed a way of teaching that is
equally focused–as much as possible–on children, faculty and staff, up and coming curriculum,
classroom management skills, and continued learning and educational growth. I will expand upon
each of these focuses throughout this paper. Children learn in various ways, and need various
teaching methods and styles to accommodate those styles. The educational theorist Howard Gardner
theorized his theory of Multiple Intelligences in 1983. This theory has influenced my teaching
throughout my teaching thus far. It was most obvious during two times in my first practicum. The
first time was during our Practicum 1 retreat. In order to become closer with our cohort, and
predetermine how we all would work best together, we took various types of learning style quizzes.
The test that stuck out the most to me was Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. During this test
our cohort discovered that even though some of us may self–classify as a "visual" or "auditory"
learner we also learned that we identified as a mathematical and/or spatial learners. Just as we all
learn differently, so will our future students. Also, during my first placement in a Kindergarten
classroom at Oak Grove Elementary I quickly discovered that even at the beginning of a student's
educational career they all learn

College Graduation Statement Essay
I am writing you in hope of being reinstated for Spring semester of 2018. I failed to achieve
unsatisfactorily. I didn't represent myself, my family, and most of all Georgia State University the
way I know I could have. I've spent only thirty minutes to an hour on school work because of the
tragic events in my life. I've realized that thirty minutes a day wasn't enough time. I was putting
more time into work, trying to stay busy, when school should be my number one job, where I am
guaranteed a degree to fulfill an actual career. From an eviction, to living in a hotel, the passing of 6
family members including my grandfather, being diagnosed with anxiety attacks, trying to be the
strongest in every situation for myself and family, I take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Trying to work and help pay for funeral expenses, because my grandmother let the insurance lapse,
was extremely difficult. I couldn't take summer courses like I had planned. I was sure to use my
grandfather as my motivation for the semester of Fall 2016, but everything hit me at once. Trying to
be a big girl and stay busy, I ended up suffering from ER visits & panic attacks. I was given strong
medication that kept me sedated. I was so determined, but I was rushing things to stay focused on
school and ending up not doing so well.
Everyone deserves a second chance. If I could rewind back time I would do everything completely
different. We all know death of a person so close to you can leave an effect on people. I know I have
opportunities to make my grandfather proud, because knowing that he is at peace allows me to
continue to be my strongest in all that I do. These burdens have revealed so much maturity in myself
along with decisions. I am not perfect, nor does my last few bad semesters indicate that I am a
failure. I feel as if my anxiety is at rest which shows major progress allowing myself to focus and
live my life. I'm willing to cut my hours even more or quit my job to make sure I am guaranteed
focus and study time. Work and school are battles upon each other, but you must choose what will
benefit the most. There are times I feel as if I still must remain the strongest for my family, but I am
learning how to cope with things on a different level

The Pressure Brought On By College Essay
The Pressure Brought On By College
Socially, religiously, and scholastically, a person's values are severely challenged as he enters
college. A major university has many evil faces that can alter a person's values if he or she is not
careful. Fraternities and their counterpart, sororities, target freshmen mainly because they're young,
easily influenced, and lonesome. Religious organizations try their best to counter the fraternities by
gathering these young scholars to spread their word. The University of Georgia itself causes turmoil
in these students' beliefs by requiring classes that promote a change in merit. These are the main
things that I have encountered as a student through the University, and all three intrude on my ...

After several weeks of pure hell, if pledges are accepted, they can finally call themselves part of the
fraternity or sorority. The opportunity to earn brotherhood or sisterhood is something that all rush
participants encounter and they have to make a choice. The things that occur in these groups go
against some of the participants' beliefs, but, in order to belong many will put their beliefs behind
them.
Religion is another major aspect of life that is threatened during the years of college. Outside the
Tate Student Center, and all over campus on random days, a preacher of sorts is outside calling out
to people to spread the Word of God. Everywhere on the UGA campus, the message of the lord can
be seen and heard. From billboards, to flyers, to messengers, people are going about the Lord. No
matter what the original religion a person brings with them, their religious values will be questioned
and sometimes they will be converted. It is somewhat impossible to escape the religious propaganda
that is common on at a major institution like UGA. With many people constantly engaged in heated
religious prattle, it seems to be a never ending conversation heard on campus.
UGA is a diverse community of some fine citizens who are committed to succeeding. With students
from around the world, it is easy to learn of different cultures. The University takes this a little too
far by demanding students, for most degrees, to register for and

Pros And Cons Of Early Childhood Education
The career I have chosen is Early Childhood Education. This type of teaching is at the elementary
level. I would be working with children in pre–kindergarten through the fifth grade. To become an
Early Childhood Teacher, I will need a high school diploma and a Bachelor's Degree. After I receive
my undergraduate degree I will be awarded a teaching certificate and able to begin teaching
immediately after.
The three colleges that I am interested in are Kennesaw State University, Georgia Northwestern
Technical College, and Georgia Highlands. Kennesaw State University in located in Kennesaw,
Georgia. It is approximately forty minutes from my house. This is a plus, because it is not too close
nor too far away from home. It is a four–year public college, so I would be able to get my bachelor's
degree in Early Childhood Education. The enrollment rate for undergraduate students is 35, 018
("Kennesaw"). The campus setting is large, and the college does have housing for their students to
live in. The student to faculty rate is 20 to 1. Kennesaw State University has a fairly good graduation
rate with forty–three percent ("Kennesaw"). Georgia Northwestern Technical College is located in
Rome, Georgia. It is a two–year public school so the campus setting is small. There are 6,016
students that are enrolled at Georgia Northwestern Technical College ("Georgia Northwestern").
They do not have housing on campus, so I would have to live at home. I would be fine with driving

College Tailgate Event Analysis
According to dictionary.com, a tailgate is "an outdoor party or picnic, typically served in the parking
lot of a sports stadium, and served on the tailgates of station wagons." This definition slightly differs
from of the actual description of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's advertisement for
the tailgate event on campus. The event was described as a fun–filled tailgate with free food and
giveaways. At the UNCC, college tailgates provide a platform in which students can display their
school pride in various student oriented social activities such as free food, music, and miscellaneous
items (school shirts, hats, school pencils etc.) prior to a popular sports game such as basketball or
football. Within the tailgate, competitiveness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dominance correlates to competitiveness because it gives a sense of power. Power as discussed in
class can be described as ability to exercise one's will which can alter the attitude of the opponent
once defeated. In relation to the discussions in class power is gained by competitiveness. For
example, the tailgate encourages students to prepare for the battle against another opponent. In the
Journal of Consumer Psychology it states,"...competitiveness was guided by three situational
contexts in which the motivation to win and defeat others may impact consumer behavior" (Mowen
54). Now this competitiveness is universal but in terms of both men and women it differs slightly. I
noticed at the men were expressing their confidence and competitiveness in comparison to the
women. Gender role within the difference of competition is a factor due to the cultural norm that
men are supposed to be aggressive as a trait of masculinity and women are supposed to be
submissive as a trait of femininity. In the research article, Gender and Competition, stated,
"Laboratory studies have documented that women often respond less favorably to competition than
men...men are more eager to compete"(Niederle and Vesterlund 601). Due the cultural norm that
men are supposed to be more aggressive and competitive, affects how women react to things that

Reflective Essay To Georgia State University
When presented with the word community I think comradery, a group of people whom give one a
sense of belonging. According to Webster's dictionary a community is defined as "a body of people
having common rights, privileges, or interests, or living in the same place under the same laws and
regulations. According to that definition I felt like it was easy for me to identify with various
communities all at once. My ethnic background, involvement, and gender have all played huge role
in this self–identification. I feel as if I am part of a series of communities not only on my college
campus but in life in general. I embrace my Latin roots, my minority community, and my third
world roots. I also recognize I consists of a community of Hispanic Organization Promoting
Education Alumni, Meadowcreek High school Alumni, HoPe Agents, Georgia State students,
Goizueta Scholars, of first generation students, and a community of women. I personally believe

was on my college campus that I learned that other minorities were fighting just as much as I was

fraternities I saw everyone fighting for the world they viewed themselves in. I learned of women
pursuing their Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctorial degrees in subjects like Neuroscience,
Business, and Medicine. These goals and ambitions were all which was unheard of in my
community at home. In addition to finally seeing strong women representations I realized that
statistics, and data proved that my community was strongly discriminated against and although there

Capuchin Monkeys
1) Introduction: Capuchin Monkeys are found in the neotropical forests of Central America. Animal
Diversity Web states that the Capuchins have, "one of the widest ranges of all New World Monkeys.
" Capuchin Monkeys are easily adaptable to many different habitats. They can live in a variety of
forest types, both wet and dry. The University of Wisconsin Primate Research Center notes that, "All
Capuchins live in dense habitats. They are arboreal and usually sleep on a branch. " This being said
they can survive in an abundance of areas because of their some special features. These features
include strong gripping hands and a grasping tail, giving these monkeys have a wide range of
locomotion. They are able to run, leap, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then they proceed to slam the rock (as a tool) on the nut to crack it open. Onekind.org mentions that
the Capuchins will collect their palm nuts and then transfer them to the anvils for the purpose of
cracking them open easier. The use of the anvil is another example of the Capuchin tool use. The
Capuchins ability to think ahead and bring the nuts to the anvil show a very skilled way of thinking
in regards to these tools. A third example of tool use in Capuchins is their use of sticks. Onekind.org
says, "capuchins readily insert a stick into a tube containing viscous food that clings to the stick,
which they then extract and lick. " The Capuchins will then use the stick for other things; once they
have a tool they seem to use it for as much as possible, finding multiple different uses for it. They
will use these sticks to get their prey out from tiny spaces and also as, "a rake to sweep objects or
food toward themselves."
3) Captive Capuchins The Journal of Comparative Psychology has one of Fragaszy 's studies where
the Capuchins were studied in labs to try and find food hidden under cups. The first example of this
is called matching to sample. There was a small stair set with two tiers; the bottom containing two
different sized cups and the top tier having one cup matching one of the bottom two. The
experimenter would (out of the monkeys view) put the food under the cup on the bottom tier that
matched that of the top tier. The Capuchins then had

My Experience At Georgia Southern University
I have always had an idea as to what I want to do with myself after high school. I have always want
to go to college and become either wanted to be a vet or a kindergarten teacher. After taking the
Holland Code Career test, provided by truity.com, I found that being a kindergarten teacher would
be the better option. For choosing a college, I decided to pick one that I had recently toured during
spring break. I had really enjoyed my tour of Georgia Southern University and it has just about
everything I need in a college.
Georgia Southern University is located in Statesboro, Georgia, about an hour away from Savannah.
The school is one of the state's largest education centers and prides itself on their achievements as a
school. Georgia Southern is a "large–scale, small feel" type of university. The school has about a
fifty percent acceptance rate and as of 2015, the school had 17,963 total undergrads and 3,495
degree seeking freshmen (College Board). The average tuition cost for an instate student is $23,972.
Georgia Southern offers a wide variety of degrees including those that I am interested in, such as
Early Childhood Education, and Child and Family Development. Along with the number of degrees
available, the university also accepts a wide range of scholarships. Ones that would apply to me
would be the HOPE Scholarship, the Southern Scholars Showcase and the Scholar's Day. The HOPE
Scholarship is also part of the university's financial aid but I have to be qualified and

The Culture Of Honesty At The University Of Georgia
Ethics
The Culture of Honesty at the University of Georgia and the Code of Ethics for Engineers both
strive to uphold the prestigious title and accomplishments of both organizations. Just like the
University of Georgia must maintain its academic integrity, the National Society of Professional
Engineers must maintain the high standards of its certified Professional Engineers. While each
document has some unique differences, both convey very similar ideas.
The Culture of Honesty document is much longer than the Code of Ethics for Engineers. This is
most likely because the Culture of Honesty applies to a broad, yet diverse population of more than
36,000 students who attend a specific university, while the Code of Ethics applies to career
professionals within a specific field in the United States. At the beginning of the document, the
Culture of Honesty defines certain words that may come up in context within the policy, which the

The Engineering Code of Ethics states, "Engineers shall be objective and truthful in professional
reports, statements and testimony. They shall include all relevant and pertinent information in such
reports, statements, or testimony, which should bear the date indicating when it was current". To me
as a student and a budding Professional Engineer, this mirrors the policies that the Culture of
Honesty enforces against plagiarism, lying, and receiving unauthorized assistance on school work.
Being honest is the best way to avoid mistakes and eventual conflict, or possibly even harm.
Engineers often work on projects that have the potential to affect millions of lives. Holding
engineers to this high code of ethics is pertinent to citizen safety. While the Culture of Honesty may
not seem as critical as the Engineering Code of Ethics, it is imperative that students learn early on in
life how to be responsible and honest

The Importance Of Technology
U.S. society and the entire world has transitioned from having automobiles that operated with a
manual key to having automobiles that only require a push of a button that is operated by a
computer system. However, computers and the internet has become more pervasive. For instance,
social media plays a major role in individuals lives. People communicate with friends and family on
the internet on a daily basis. Paper letters and stamps are no longer required. In the past people went
days without talking to their loved ones and was dependant on a letter in the mail. The advancement
of technological devices has changed the nation and family members are only a Facetime away.
With this being said, businesses, especially industrial warehouses, have become solely dependant on
technology due to the increase of operation efficiency. Businesses have the ability to monitor profit
and loss reports by a click of a mouse. Technology has helped streamline many systems and
increased efficiency and productivity. As technology increased, the growth of many businesses
globally has increased as well making the competition for products and the job market challenging.
The demand for low skilled work has lessened because the skills are no longer required. Given these
points, my name is Ashley McClure. I am interested in the Dual Degree: Master's of Business
Administration and Master's of Science in Information Systems at Kennesaw State University. I am

My Life Experience At Georgia Southern University
Everyone has their own story of why they feel they are deserving of being admitted to the nursing
program. Whether it was so they could make their parents proud or due to a family history, every
person has their own personal reasoning for wanting to be accepted. So what is my story? I could

currently involved in The 100 Collegiate Women of America and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
These things however do not set me apart from other applicants, but there are two things that do: my

Mandatory Attendance at the University of West Georgia Essay
The issue at hand, at The University of West Georgia (UWG), is the government putting an
attendance policy in place. Many people believe that if people do not show up to class, they will
most likely fail the class anyway. With this theory, it would not matter if they came or did not come,
they would not do good in the class unless they were extremely gifted. The other side of this debate
is that there should be a policy set in place that enforces the attendance and fails the student after
missing a set number of days for a semester. I believe that people in college are old enough to

themselves in college. My mother dropped out of college after her first semester and has made it a
point to tell me how hard it is to get a job that pays the bills and gives you money to play with. My
brother recently graduated college, and is now making six figures yearly salary. He studied and
applied himself to graduate which has helped him. He went to class and studied outside of class. He
has no regrets of college. The person who does not do these things will regret everything without the
governments help. There are two sides to all debates, and if you truly want to do well, you will
attend class and better yourself for the future. If you do not care and do not use the time given to you
to learn in class, then you will have many troubles in college and outside college as well. The
government has better things to worry about in our economy than students attending class regularly.
The students will find out in time that it was their downfall and that

Commplacency Personal Statement
As a freshman at the University of Georgia, I was only four hours from home, and constantly being
challenged by homesickness, better education and a lack of understanding of who I was and who I
wanted to be. This change of pace blindsided me and moved me to enter an area of complacency. I
could not stay in this place for long due to the sudden passing of my sister. She was an intelligent,
humble thirty–three–year–old diabetic single mother with three children and an incredible story to
share. While at my lowest point, she called to tell me how proud she was of me and how excited she
was to see me graduate from such an incredible institution. For her, given her financial and personal
circumstances, committing to attend my graduation was a huge feat. When I received the call that

I believe that education is the building block for all success and that one can only be successful in
education if he or she is passionate about something. At the time, I was pursuing a degree out of
complacency rather than passion. While attending a seminar on education and poverty, that passion
engulfed me and drove me to pursue school counseling. This seminar brought to light that students
often times do not finish school, because they do not have the resources to finish. These self– and
material doubts affect students at every level of education. As a single–minded freshman, this was
life changing. I had never considered resources to be a factor in educational failure. Pity for these
other students had not crossed my mind, but rather, urgency kicked me into gear. My passion for
school counseling is fueled by my own difficulties adjusting to college and the fear that my nephews
and niece could fall into the unfortunate normalcy of giving up. Students must work so hard to
overcome the daily challenges of life and should not give up due to their own belief that they cannot

Georgia. The college was originally created in 1908, but didn't begin carrying the name "Georgia

100 majors to choose from (University). Georgia Southern has Division One Athletics. This could
be intriguing to some who would enjoy watching the school play against other top universities in the
nation. GSU is very prominent in men's soccer as well as women's softball. Every year, just like
many other colleges, GSU gives out scholarships to students who achieve well in the classroom as
well in their respected sport.
As far as demographics go, GSU is moderately diverse. The school's student population is 62%
Caucasian, 27% African–American, and 5% Latino (College Factual). There is also barely a
difference in the amount of males and females that attend, with both numbers reaching around 9,000

My Leadership Style At Georgia Southern University
Throughout my time in the Lead and Serve Living and Learning Community I have been able to
further develop my leadership skills and utilize these skills in various situations. Before coming to
Georgia Southern University, my leadership style focused on teamwork, hard work, efficiency, and
time management. Through my experiences in Lead and Serve, I have found that there are many
other attributes needed to be an efficient and good leader. These attributes include open
communication, open–mindedness, patience, inclusiveness, and responsibility. Through my
interview I conducted with my older brother, Nathaniel, for the Live the Change class I found hard
work and dedication to be crucial when leading others. I needed to work hard at whatever I was
trying to accomplish in order to both inspire those I was leading to work hard as well as ensure
efficiency in my own work. Teamwork has also been crucial to leadership since working with the
team you lead is necessary for the group to run smoothly. Finally, I found time management to be
important because if I waited until the last minute to do something it affected not only me but those I
was leading and caused us to not do our best in the short amount of time. I have also found that open
communication is important to not only being a leader but also to everyday life through my
experiences in the Lead and Serve community. Since I did not feel as though I was being heard
when I first joined the LLC and I had to work with others to get

I could already tell that this was this step included a lot of work. We sorted and prepared the food as
a team. Each of us took a job to help prepare the food as quick as possible. I was in charge of
shaping up the burger patties between sheets of wax paper. This wasn't a difficult job but it was time
consuming. The other tailgaters were in charge of tasks like skewering and marinating the kebabs,
slicing and packing up the burger toppings into containers, and labeling coolers as drinks were put
into them. As a group we took the containers and coolers that had already been bought and loaded
the tailgating essentials into them. A neat trick that my group did was always kept a toolbox packed
with tailgate essentials in the trunk of their car. This provided easy access to any of the essentials
tailgaters need. These containers would be loaded into the two trucks, one truck was designated for
the cooking and food, the other for drinks. The drinks that we brought were mainly sodas and water.
The tailgaters brought frozen water bottles and placed them in the coolers so we would have cold
water to drink after the ice melted. Traditionally tailgaters bring alcoholic beverages. My group
doesn't drink so we avoided anything involving alcohol. This gave my group an overall better
tailgating experience. After both of the steps, pre–game and dirty work are completed, we relaxed

I Am A Business Manager At Georgia State University
Currently, I am a business manager at Georgia State University, a public university that enrolls
50,000–60,000 students a year. We equip students with financial aid, and student account services
throughout the year. In order to carry out, student services the university hires a number of new staff
members each year. Hiring the right people and training them properly is a constant concern of the
university. Primarily the hiring process seems clear–cut: post a job description online, review
applicant's resumes, interview applicants, and make a job offer. In its simplest form, the process is
still intact, but technology, a decreasing job market, and an increase in demand for skilled workers
have all disturbed the hiring process and created both positive and negative results. In looking at
GSU's hiring process, there is room for improvement. To narrow down the hiring process to a more
manageable one, one must look at the entire process and the goal of hiring of the best applicant no
matter how long it takes. While this is an attainable goal, GSU faces many challenges of the
workforce atmosphere. So this comes into questions if speeding up the hiring process will result in
the highest number of qualified applicants. Of course, GSU's goal is to hire the best candidate.
However, when positions become vacant good work ethic falls off due to heavy workloads. Hence,
the university wants to fill the position as soon as possible. But if the candidate is not competent to

A Seminar On Education And Poverty
In September of 2013, my sister passed away, leaving our family with more questions than answers

The Post 1945 Civil Rights Movement
The post 1945 Civil Rights movement, also known as the "Second Reconstruction", began its trek to
equality by challenging the education system. Civil rights activists believed a decent education was
a right reserved for all. They saw schooling as their doorway to begin "socializing" white children at
a young age to the idea of being around and working alongside black children. More importantly,
education readies people for the working world, and activists believed integrating schooling would
allow them the opportunity to get the same education and skill set currently reserved for white
schools. Therefore, making them just as prepared or "equal" as white folks. This would not come
easily though. We see a prime example of massive resistance ... Show more content on

This meant that the applicants would have to reapply, but often times the new requirements were set
up in a specific way that blacks could not meet them. For example, in the middle of Ward's
attempted admission into the University of Georgia, the Board of Regents decided it would suddenly
require all applicants of the Georgia public schools system to have letters of recommendations
coming from alumni of the school they wished to attend. This was clever. The Board knew that only
white people were alumni from most prestigious public Universities in Georgia. Therefore, this
would make the chances of black students receiving even one of the two letters nearly impossible.
The significance behind such tactics from the school system was that they were taking something
"bad" and marrying it to something "good." When questioned about why they required such one–
sided admission requirements, they replied that they were just following the state law like they were
supposed to. (Pg. 19) It is like a wolf in sheep's

they eat to convert to energy due to an inefficient supply of insulin or an inability to use insulin
effectively. The source of the problem derives from beta cells located in the pancreas. These cells
are special for their production of insulin and response to it. If there is a problem with the beta cells
in the pancreas, then their inefficient supply and absorption of insulin results to an increased amount
of glucose in the blood stream that cannot be absorbed sufficiently which leads to a diabetic

common signs and symptoms that are associated with the disease.
The signs and symptoms of the disease seen in clinical practice are increased urination, increased

Frank Brown 's A Proper Recognition
A Proper Recognition Frank Brown has spent most of his life dedicated to not only bettering CSU,
but he has also had a huge impact on the lives of many in the community. Throughout his lengthy
career as president, he helped shape CSU into the great school that it is today. Aside from his work
as the president, he used his spare time to enrich the community around Columbus. He did this by
starting numerous leadership programs and minority training programs. Brown deserves to have a
statue of himself built on campus to commemorate his selfless works. Impact is the amount of
positive or negative change one brings with them. Frank Brown had a bigger impact on CSU than
anyone else in the school's history. "Frank Brown expanded CSU from a 'commuter college with
fewer than 4,000 students' to the CSU we know today" (Frank Brown Handout). He expanded
student housing by making deals to open the main campus apartments that are present today. The
role Brown played in transforming Columbus College into Columbus State University greatly
impacted the school for years to come. He was a leader in opening over ten new facilities for the
school and community throughout his tenure. Although, some may argue that Thomas Whitley
deserves a statue instead of Brown. Whitley was the first president of Columbus College and the
main reason for its opening in 1958. If it had not been for Whitley starting the college, Brown's
achievements may have never taken place. However, this was not the case and

purpose is to provide the students with a higher education because the state of Georgia is denying

Furthermore, Georgia is denying immigrants to college based on that they were not born in this

Essay For Masters In Social Work
Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi once stated, "The best way to find yourself is to lose
yourself in the service of others". This simple yet powerful quote motivates me to remain steadfast
in the mission of aiding others. I'm pursing a Masters in social work because by working in this
field, I can educate, advocate, motivate, understand, and encourage resilience to clients from every
walk of life. It is a profession that will allow me to practice both on a micro and macro level

disadvantaged communities.
My interest in this field stems from growing up in a small, rural, poverty stricken town. This gave
me a unique perspective on the world. My hometown had many children with potential, but because
they did not have a positive outlet most of our future workforce leaders did not complete school. As

Currently there are no programs in the area that offers educational assistance to these children.

translation is the transfer of research to the clinical setting where practices can be implemented,

It is a seven step process that includes topic selection, team formation, evidence retrieval, evidence
grading, developing evidence–based standards, implementing the evidence based practice, and
evaluation of quality of care based on changes implemented (Doody, 2011). Within these seven
steps, there are defined decision points and feedback loops (Polit & Bech, 2012) including deciding
if the topic is problem focused or knowledge focused, if there is adequate evidence on the topic to
make a practice change, and whether or not to adopt the new practice after evaluation of the pilot
implementation (Schaffer, Kristin E. Sandau, & Diedrick, 2012). Prior to beginning the process of
research translation with this model, it must be determined if the topic of research is a priority for
the organization. Questions that must be addressed include whether or not the topic fits into the
organization's strategic plan, what the magnitude of the topic is, how many people in the
organization are invested in the topic, how much support will be offered by nursing and other
hospital leaders during the process, the financial constraints, and the barriers to change within the
organization (Polit & Bech, 2012). In order for the changes based on the research to become

Dorm Check Ins At Valdosta State University
Dorm Check–Ins When paying large amounts of money, most people like to get the most out of
what they pay for. Students all across the country pay thousands of dollars to live on campus
housing in educational institutions. At Valdosta State University, there are nine residential halls on
campus with most of them being freshman dorms. The on–campus housing follows a strict policy
that states only two people can be checked in per student. Many students agree that there should be
more than two people who are allowed to check in at any of the given halls here on campus. The
dorms should allow at least four people to be checked in at a time by each resident student. There
could be a cap to the capacity at four, but that is a reasonable number as to how many people can
come hangout in each dorm. Although Valdosta State University is a smaller school compared to
some of the big SEC schools in the state of Georgia, it is still considered to be a well–known
university. With a count of about nine thousand undergraduate students attending the school, "First
year freshmen are required to live on campus" ("Freshmen Residency"). There are a couple of
reasons for this requirement that most people will agree are extremely valid. For example, experts
say that students that live on campus for their first year seem to achieve better grades; they also have
a better chance of meeting more people around campus since they spend most of their time in the
perimeter. Since most first–year students

Personal Narrative: My Application To Georgia State...
" Congratulations! We are excited to inform you of your acceptance to the Georgia State community.

When I started my applications, Georgia State University was not part of my projects. Why? For the
simple reason that it was too expensive for a middle family like mine. With three other sisters and
my niece, I could not think about this type of prestigious school because my sister was about to

UNGC Environmental Science Classroom Observation

  • 1. The University Of North Georgia, Gainesville Campus Essay During the Steps 2 College program provided by the University of North Georgia, Gainesville Campus, my Education 2120 class and I were to provide 20 hours of observational field experience in the classroom. From the many course options provided for the program, I choose to spend my time in the Environmental Science course which was located in the Nesbitt building in room 1213. The classroom setting was a darker than normal classroom, but was formatted auditorium style, with all seats facing the front of the class towards the smart board. This was a new experience for the students. Only the first row was used in class due to having a class size of only 7 students. The ratio of boys to girls was about even with 4 boys and 3 girls in the class. All the students were Hispanic, with the only diversity being the teacher and the teachers assistants present. They were all bilingual, knowing their native language of Spanish as well as English except one student who only knew English. All the students in our class came from Banks County High School. Banks County High School, located in Homer, Georgia, is the only high school within its county, with an enrollment rate of greater than or equal to 800 students annually (usnews,2015). Banks County High School has a national ranking of Bronze. Here is the breakdown of the demographics provided by (usnews,2015) and the National Center for Education Statistics of the school: Total Minority Enrollment is 12% Total Economically Disadvantaged ... • 3. I Have Learned At Georgia State University Essay In today's educational field I plan to apply my knowledge of everything that I have learned at Georgia State University. In my time at Georgia State, I have developed a way of teaching that is equally focused–as much as possible–on children, faculty and staff, up and coming curriculum, classroom management skills, and continued learning and educational growth. I will expand upon each of these focuses throughout this paper. Children learn in various ways, and need various teaching methods and styles to accommodate those styles. The educational theorist Howard Gardner theorized his theory of Multiple Intelligences in 1983. This theory has influenced my teaching throughout my teaching thus far. It was most obvious during two times in my first practicum. The first time was during our Practicum 1 retreat. In order to become closer with our cohort, and predetermine how we all would work best together, we took various types of learning style quizzes. The test that stuck out the most to me was Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. During this test our cohort discovered that even though some of us may self–classify as a "visual" or "auditory" learner we also learned that we identified as a mathematical and/or spatial learners. Just as we all learn differently, so will our future students. Also, during my first placement in a Kindergarten classroom at Oak Grove Elementary I quickly discovered that even at the beginning of a student's educational career they all learn ... • 5. College Graduation Statement Essay I am writing you in hope of being reinstated for Spring semester of 2018. I failed to achieve unsatisfactorily. I didn't represent myself, my family, and most of all Georgia State University the way I know I could have. I've spent only thirty minutes to an hour on school work because of the tragic events in my life. I've realized that thirty minutes a day wasn't enough time. I was putting more time into work, trying to stay busy, when school should be my number one job, where I am guaranteed a degree to fulfill an actual career. From an eviction, to living in a hotel, the passing of 6 family members including my grandfather, being diagnosed with anxiety attacks, trying to be the strongest in every situation for myself and family, I take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trying to work and help pay for funeral expenses, because my grandmother let the insurance lapse, was extremely difficult. I couldn't take summer courses like I had planned. I was sure to use my grandfather as my motivation for the semester of Fall 2016, but everything hit me at once. Trying to be a big girl and stay busy, I ended up suffering from ER visits & panic attacks. I was given strong medication that kept me sedated. I was so determined, but I was rushing things to stay focused on school and ending up not doing so well. Everyone deserves a second chance. If I could rewind back time I would do everything completely different. We all know death of a person so close to you can leave an effect on people. I know I have opportunities to make my grandfather proud, because knowing that he is at peace allows me to continue to be my strongest in all that I do. These burdens have revealed so much maturity in myself along with decisions. I am not perfect, nor does my last few bad semesters indicate that I am a failure. I feel as if my anxiety is at rest which shows major progress allowing myself to focus and live my life. I'm willing to cut my hours even more or quit my job to make sure I am guaranteed focus and study time. Work and school are battles upon each other, but you must choose what will benefit the most. There are times I feel as if I still must remain the strongest for my family, but I am learning how to cope with things on a different level ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Pressure Brought On By College Essay The Pressure Brought On By College Socially, religiously, and scholastically, a person's values are severely challenged as he enters college. A major university has many evil faces that can alter a person's values if he or she is not careful. Fraternities and their counterpart, sororities, target freshmen mainly because they're young, easily influenced, and lonesome. Religious organizations try their best to counter the fraternities by gathering these young scholars to spread their word. The University of Georgia itself causes turmoil in these students' beliefs by requiring classes that promote a change in merit. These are the main things that I have encountered as a student through the University, and all three intrude on my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After several weeks of pure hell, if pledges are accepted, they can finally call themselves part of the fraternity or sorority. The opportunity to earn brotherhood or sisterhood is something that all rush participants encounter and they have to make a choice. The things that occur in these groups go against some of the participants' beliefs, but, in order to belong many will put their beliefs behind them. Religion is another major aspect of life that is threatened during the years of college. Outside the Tate Student Center, and all over campus on random days, a preacher of sorts is outside calling out to people to spread the Word of God. Everywhere on the UGA campus, the message of the lord can be seen and heard. From billboards, to flyers, to messengers, people are going about the Lord. No matter what the original religion a person brings with them, their religious values will be questioned and sometimes they will be converted. It is somewhat impossible to escape the religious propaganda that is common on at a major institution like UGA. With many people constantly engaged in heated religious prattle, it seems to be a never ending conversation heard on campus. UGA is a diverse community of some fine citizens who are committed to succeeding. With students from around the world, it is easy to learn of different cultures. The University takes this a little too far by demanding students, for most degrees, to register for and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Pros And Cons Of Early Childhood Education The career I have chosen is Early Childhood Education. This type of teaching is at the elementary level. I would be working with children in pre–kindergarten through the fifth grade. To become an Early Childhood Teacher, I will need a high school diploma and a Bachelor's Degree. After I receive my undergraduate degree I will be awarded a teaching certificate and able to begin teaching immediately after. The three colleges that I am interested in are Kennesaw State University, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, and Georgia Highlands. Kennesaw State University in located in Kennesaw, Georgia. It is approximately forty minutes from my house. This is a plus, because it is not too close nor too far away from home. It is a four–year public college, so I would be able to get my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. The enrollment rate for undergraduate students is 35, 018 ("Kennesaw"). The campus setting is large, and the college does have housing for their students to live in. The student to faculty rate is 20 to 1. Kennesaw State University has a fairly good graduation rate with forty–three percent ("Kennesaw"). Georgia Northwestern Technical College is located in Rome, Georgia. It is a two–year public school so the campus setting is small. There are 6,016 students that are enrolled at Georgia Northwestern Technical College ("Georgia Northwestern"). College Tailgate Event Analysis According to dictionary.com, a tailgate is "an outdoor party or picnic, typically served in the parking lot of a sports stadium, and served on the tailgates of station wagons." This definition slightly differs from of the actual description of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's advertisement for the tailgate event on campus. The event was described as a fun–filled tailgate with free food and giveaways. At the UNCC, college tailgates provide a platform in which students can display their school pride in various student oriented social activities such as free food, music, and miscellaneous items (school shirts, hats, school pencils etc.) prior to a popular sports game such as basketball or football. Within the tailgate, competitiveness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dominance correlates to competitiveness because it gives a sense of power. Power as discussed in class can be described as ability to exercise one's will which can alter the attitude of the opponent once defeated. In relation to the discussions in class power is gained by competitiveness. For example, the tailgate encourages students to prepare for the battle against another opponent. In the Journal of Consumer Psychology it states,"...competitiveness was guided by three situational contexts in which the motivation to win and defeat others may impact consumer behavior" (Mowen 54). Now this competitiveness is universal but in terms of both men and women it differs slightly. I noticed at the men were expressing their confidence and competitiveness in comparison to the women. Gender role within the difference of competition is a factor due to the cultural norm that men are supposed to be aggressive as a trait of masculinity and women are supposed to be submissive as a trait of femininity. In the research article, Gender and Competition, stated, "Laboratory studies have documented that women often respond less favorably to competition than men...men are more eager to compete"(Niederle and Vesterlund 601). According to Webster's dictionary a community is defined as "a body of people having common rights, privileges, or interests, or living in the same place under the same laws and regulations. According to that definition I felt like it was easy for me to identify with various communities all at once. My ethnic background, involvement, and gender have all played huge role in this self–identification. I feel as if I am part of a series of communities not only on my college campus but in life in general. I embrace my Latin roots, my minority community, and my third world roots. I learned of women pursuing their Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctorial degrees in subjects like Neuroscience, Business, and Medicine. Then they proceed to slam the rock (as a tool) on the nut to crack it open. Onekind.org mentions that the Capuchins will collect their palm nuts and then transfer them to the anvils for the purpose of cracking them open easier. The use of the anvil is another example of the Capuchin tool use. The Capuchins ability to think ahead and bring the nuts to the anvil show a very skilled way of thinking in regards to these tools. A third example of tool use in Capuchins is their use of sticks. Onekind.org says, "capuchins readily insert a stick into a tube containing viscous food that clings to the stick, which they then extract and lick. " The Capuchins will then use the stick for other things; once they have a tool they seem to use it for as much as possible, finding multiple different uses for it. They will use these sticks to get their prey out from tiny spaces and also as, "a rake to sweep objects or food toward themselves." 3) Captive Capuchins The Journal of Comparative Psychology has one of Fragaszy 's studies where the Capuchins were studied in labs to try and find food hidden under cups. The first example of this is called matching to sample. There was a small stair set with two tiers; the bottom containing two different sized cups and the top tier having one cup matching one of the bottom two. I have always want to go to college and become either wanted to be a vet or a kindergarten teacher. After taking the Holland Code Career test, provided by truity.com, I found that being a kindergarten teacher would be the better option. For choosing a college, I decided to pick one that I had recently toured during spring break. I had really enjoyed my tour of Georgia Southern University and it has just about everything I need in a college. Georgia Southern University is located in Statesboro, Georgia, about an hour away from Savannah. The school is one of the state's largest education centers and prides itself on their achievements as a school. Georgia Southern is a "large–scale, small feel" type of university. The school has about a fifty percent acceptance rate and as of 2015, the school had 17,963 total undergrads and 3,495 degree seeking freshmen (College Board). The average tuition cost for an instate student is $23,972. Georgia Southern offers a wide variety of degrees including those that I am interested in, such as Early Childhood Education, and Child and Family Development. Along with the number of degrees available, the university also accepts a wide range of scholarships. Ones that would apply to me would be the HOPE Scholarship, the Southern Scholars Showcase and the Scholar's Day. The HOPE Scholarship is also part of the university's financial aid but I have to be qualified and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Culture Of Honesty At The University Of Georgia Ethics The Culture of Honesty at the University of Georgia and the Code of Ethics for Engineers both strive to uphold the prestigious title and accomplishments of both organizations. Just like the University of Georgia must maintain its academic integrity, the National Society of Professional Engineers must maintain the high standards of its certified Professional Engineers. While each document has some unique differences, both convey very similar ideas. The Culture of Honesty document is much longer than the Code of Ethics for Engineers. This is most likely because the Culture of Honesty applies to a broad, yet diverse population of more than 36,000 students who attend a specific university, while the Code of Ethics applies to career professionals within a specific field in the United States. At the beginning of the document, the Culture of Honesty defines certain words that may come up in context within the policy, which the Code of Ethics for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Engineering Code of Ethics states, "Engineers shall be objective and truthful in professional reports, statements and testimony. To me as a student and a budding Professional Engineer, this mirrors the policies that the Culture of Honesty enforces against plagiarism, lying, and receiving unauthorized assistance on school work. Being honest is the best way to avoid mistakes and eventual conflict, or possibly even harm. Engineers often work on projects that have the potential to affect millions of lives. Holding engineers to this high code of ethics is pertinent to citizen safety. The Importance Of Technology U.S. society and the entire world has transitioned from having automobiles that operated with a manual key to having automobiles that only require a push of a button that is operated by a computer system. However, computers and the internet has become more pervasive. For instance, social media plays a major role in individuals lives. People communicate with friends and family on the internet on a daily basis. Paper letters and stamps are no longer required. In the past people went days without talking to their loved ones and was dependant on a letter in the mail. The advancement of technological devices has changed the nation and family members are only a Facetime away. With this being said, businesses, especially industrial warehouses, have become solely dependant on technology due to the increase of operation efficiency. Businesses have the ability to monitor profit and loss reports by a click of a mouse. Technology has helped streamline many systems and increased efficiency and productivity. As technology increased, the growth of many businesses globally has increased as well making the competition for products and the job market challenging. The demand for low skilled work has lessened because the skills are no longer required. Given these points, my name is Ashley McClure. We equip students with financial aid, and student account services throughout the year. In order to carry out, student services the university hires a number of new staff members each year. Hiring the right people and training them properly is a constant concern of the university. • 57. A Seminar On Education And Poverty In September of 2013, my sister passed away, leaving our family with more questions than answers and challenges that parallel with heartbreak. As a freshman trying to find my way at the University of Georgia, it seemed that I was going backwards compared to my peers and my grieving put more of a strain on my will to continue my studies. Pursuing any actions for bettering myself or my counterparts tended to feel overwhelming. Feelings of loneliness engulfed my state of mind, but what was most unbearable was my realization that I had no idea of how I was going to overcome this. I usually have a plan of what I would like to accomplish and who I strive to become, but at this stage of life, I felt as lost as ever. As months passed, I had the opportunity to attend a seminar on education and poverty. Although I was not interested in education, I attended to gain information for a class project. Through this seminar, I found the beginning of passion that I did not know I possessed. The presenters exposed the significant fact that students often times do not finish school due to their lacking in resources to finish. These self– and material doubts affect students at every level of education. While focusing on my own challenges, I lost sight of the present, daunting challenges that others, whether they be my peers or younger students, face on a daily basis. Pity for these other students had not crossed my mind, but rather, an urgency to take action. Students must work so relentlessly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 59. The Post 1945 Civil Rights Movement The post 1945 Civil Rights movement, also known as the "Second Reconstruction", began its trek to equality by challenging the education system. Civil rights activists believed a decent education was a right reserved for all. They saw schooling as their doorway to begin "socializing" white children at a young age to the idea of being around and working alongside black children. More importantly, education readies people for the working world, and activists believed integrating schooling would allow them the opportunity to get the same education and skill set currently reserved for white schools. Therefore, making them just as prepared or "equal" as white folks. This would not come easily though. We see a prime example of massive resistance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This meant that the applicants would have to reapply, but often times the new requirements were set up in a specific way that blacks could not meet them. For example, in the middle of Ward's attempted admission into the University of Georgia, the Board of Regents decided it would suddenly require all applicants of the Georgia public schools system to have letters of recommendations coming from alumni of the school they wished to attend. This was clever. The Board knew that only white people were alumni from most prestigious public Universities in Georgia. Therefore, this would make the chances of black students receiving even one of the two letters nearly impossible. The significance behind such tactics from the school system was that they were taking something "bad" and marrying it to something "good." When questioned about why they required such one– sided admission requirements, they replied that they were just following the state law like they were supposed to. Georgia Southwestern State University Essay During my first semester at Georgia Southwestern State University, I realized that there are several positive and negative aspects to living on campus. As a student who lives on campus, I observe these every day. Some aspects are beneficial to students like the fitness center and student organizations because they help to enhance the health, intellect, and entertainment of life on campus. Some aspects are not beneficial to students like the lack of cleanliness in the dormitories and the food in the cafeteria because they prohibit students from enjoying life on campus. I would like to bring attention to a negative aspect of living on campus because I think that it needs to be improved to make life easier for students on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University. The washers and dryers that are available for the use of students have several issues. I know this because I have used the washers and dryers on campus, and I have talked to other students about them. They are outdated, irresponsibly taken care of, and too expensive to use. The washers and dryers that are in the dormitories are very outdated. It is easy to see that they are old. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After using the washers and dryers on campus, I will not use them again because it was not a great experience. I know what washers and dryers are supposed to do because I do my own laundry at home, and the washers and dryers on campus do not do what they are supposed to do. Until the quality of the washers and dryers improves on campus, they will continue to be a negative aspect for students who live on campus at Georgia Southwestern State University because they do not make campus life ... There are two major types of diabetes mellitus, type 1 and type 2, and gestational diabetes is a third type that could occur during pregnancy. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the more common of the three types, attributing tor around 95 percent of new cases of diabetes (Prezbindowski & Porth, 2005 pg. 1309 para. 1). Diabetes mellitus is caused by one's body having trouble breaking down foods they eat to convert to energy due to an inefficient supply of insulin or an inability to use insulin effectively. The source of the problem derives from beta cells located in the pancreas. These cells are special for their production of insulin and response to it. If there is a problem with the beta cells in the pancreas, then their inefficient supply and absorption of insulin results to an increased amount of glucose in the blood stream that cannot be absorbed sufficiently which leads to a diabetic condition. If one may suspect diabetes mellitus as a health condition they are experiencing, there are common signs and symptoms that are associated with the disease. The signs and symptoms of the disease seen in clinical practice are increased urination, increased thirst, and an increased appetite. • 65. Frank Brown 's A Proper Recognition A Proper Recognition Frank Brown has spent most of his life dedicated to not only bettering CSU, but he has also had a huge impact on the lives of many in the community. Throughout his lengthy career as president, he helped shape CSU into the great school that it is today. Aside from his work as the president, he used his spare time to enrich the community around Columbus. He did this by starting numerous leadership programs and minority training programs. Brown deserves to have a statue of himself built on campus to commemorate his selfless works. Impact is the amount of positive or negative change one brings with them. Frank Brown had a bigger impact on CSU than anyone else in the school's history. "Frank Brown expanded CSU from a 'commuter college with fewer than 4,000 students' to the CSU we know today" (Frank Brown Handout). He expanded student housing by making deals to open the main campus apartments that are present today. The role Brown played in transforming Columbus College into Columbus State University greatly impacted the school for years to come. He was a leader in opening over ten new facilities for the school and community throughout his tenure. Although, some may argue that Thomas Whitley deserves a statue instead of Brown. Whitley was the first president of Columbus College and the main reason for its opening in 1958. If it had not been for Whitley starting the college, Brown's achievements may have never taken place. However, this was not the case and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Personal Narrative: My Experience At The University Of... My experience at the arch makes me wonder if the University of Georgia purposefully put up a plaque honoring Confederate students and teachers beside the first black student's hall. There are many other amazing professors that have gone through the UGA system before 1991, so was this a direct jab at the Hunter and Holmes Hall? Honestly, I do not believe this invalidates anybody's rights. Ultimately, this just makes people uncomfortable to remember such a dark time in American history. It does not make sense why Athens would want to promote such a horrible memory like the Civil War to outshadow such a great victory for civil rights. This class is very beneficial to me, it truly has opened my eyes to how much injustice occurs around me and how to improve not only Athens but my hometown. All of the lessons are applicable to real life scenarios, which is priceless because sometimes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the few schools that do accept undocumented immigrants charge out of state tuition with little to none financial aid which makes it impossible for most of them to afford. Its purpose is to provide the students with a higher education because the state of Georgia is denying them that simple right. I believe that this violates the core American value of equal opportunity. Furthermore, Georgia is denying immigrants to college based on that they were not born in this country, not based on their grades or any controllable situation. Ultimately, Georgia is essentially promoting the idea of dropping out of high school because there is almost no chance of obtaining any higher degree of education. • 69. Essay For Masters In Social Work Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi once stated, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others". This simple yet powerful quote motivates me to remain steadfast in the mission of aiding others. I'm pursing a Masters in social work because by working in this field, I can educate, advocate, motivate, understand, and encourage resilience to clients from every walk of life. It is a profession that will allow me to practice both on a micro and macro level simultaneously. Lastly, working in social work gives me the capacity to challenge policies affecting disadvantaged communities. My interest in this field stems from growing up in a small, rural, poverty stricken town. This gave me a unique perspective on the world. My hometown had many children with potential, but because they did not have a positive outlet most of our future workforce leaders did not complete school. As a professional, I want to create an outreach program designed for high school students, from low– income communities, that pushes and encourages them to stay in school and seek higher education. Currently there are no programs in the area that offers educational assistance to these children. Considering the lack of resources available, the need for such a program is evident. My solution is to use social work to develop these types of services and create policies that can affect at risk youth in a positive way. Case Study : Georgia College And State University Critical Insight Paper Lori Starr Georgia College and State University Critical Insight Paper The process of Evidence Based Practice is not truly complete until research translation occurs. Research translation is the transfer of research to the clinical setting where practices can be implemented, evaluated, and communicated. Research is produced and published at high rates while changes in education and practice are slow (Doody, 2011). There are multiple research translation models that attempt to close the gap between research and practice. These models utilize research evidence to improve quality of nursing care. One of these models is the Iowa Model of Evidence–Based Practice to Promote Quality Care (Polit & Bech, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a seven step process that includes topic selection, team formation, evidence retrieval, evidence grading, developing evidence–based standards, implementing the evidence based practice, and evaluation of quality of care based on changes implemented (Doody, 2011). Within these seven steps, there are defined decision points and feedback loops (Polit & Bech, 2012) including deciding if the topic is problem focused or knowledge focused, if there is adequate evidence on the topic to make a practice change, and whether or not to adopt the new practice after evaluation of the pilot implementation (Schaffer, Kristin E. Sandau, & Diedrick, 2012). Prior to beginning the process of research translation with this model, it must be determined if the topic of research is a priority for the organization. Questions that must be addressed include whether or not the topic fits into the organization's strategic plan, what the magnitude of the topic is, how many people in the organization are invested in the topic, how much support will be offered by nursing and other hospital leaders during the process, the financial constraints, and the barriers to change within the organization (Polit & Bech, 2012). In order for the changes based on the research to become standard of care within the organization, they must be fully implemented and embraced by everyone in the organization. This is ... • 73. Dorm Check Ins At Valdosta State University Dorm Check–Ins When paying large amounts of money, most people like to get the most out of what they pay for. Students all across the country pay thousands of dollars to live on campus housing in educational institutions. At Valdosta State University, there are nine residential halls on campus with most of them being freshman dorms. The on–campus housing follows a strict policy that states only two people can be checked in per student. Many students agree that there should be more than two people who are allowed to check in at any of the given halls here on campus. The dorms should allow at least four people to be checked in at a time by each resident student. There could be a cap to the capacity at four, but that is a reasonable number as to how many people can come hangout in each dorm. Although Valdosta State University is a smaller school compared to some of the big SEC schools in the state of Georgia, it is still considered to be a well–known university. With a count of about nine thousand undergraduate students attending the school, "First year freshmen are required to live on campus" ("Freshmen Residency"). There are a couple of reasons for this requirement that most people will agree are extremely valid. For example, experts say that students that live on campus for their first year seem to achieve better grades; they also have a better chance of meeting more people around campus since they spend most of their time in the perimeter. Since most first–year students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Receiving this letter, in May 2016, was one of the most beautiful things I ever dreamed of. It was a new journey that was about to start for me, an Ivorian student. I am the second college student, after my mother in my family. But being accepted at Georgia State University was another level. When I started my applications, Georgia State University was not part of my projects. Why? For the simple reason that it was too expensive for a middle family like mine. With three other sisters and my niece, I could not think about this type of prestigious school because my sister was about to graduate from High School. And one day I heard about a "partnership'' that existed between GSU and my previous school. I always wanted to come to this school so I asked.
